I bought a used 530i and I noticed the lane assist camera wasn't functioning, we all thought it just needed a calibration and I was informed it would be taken care of at no cost. Once Everardo got it, he discovered it was because the windshield had been replaced at some point by a non oem windshield, and that was the problem. Obviously it's a lot more expensive for the dealership to cover an oe windshield replacement when compared to a camera calibration. I signed for the car as is, they could've totally screwed me if they wanted to, but that's not East Bay BMW's style, they told me that it would work and they made good on their promise, even though it was more work than anticipated. Legally speaking, they didn't have to do that, and most dealerships would've taken the opportunity to make some money there. I'm blown away by such honest business in this day and age, it's so uncommon, especially when dealing with larger companies. But these guys are awesome. I was done by 12 PM -- and honestly, it would've been earlier if my bank hadn't decided to take a scenic route with the wire transfer. After reviewing paperwork for a iX my mother purchased a few years ago, i noticed a 3.5k line item that's completely bogus. Harder to catch now that the signing is all digital versus a printed out sales order form where you can compare the numbers page by page. This review is for the service department. I brought my BMW X5 M50i here for just an oil change (my main mechanic was booked solid and I needed it done right away). Out the gate, the consultant is trying to upsell me on a bunch of stuff I don't need and I declined. At the end, I get told my tires had 6 tread when they were practically brand new. When I pushed back, suddenly that 6 became a 7. Then as if that wasn't enough, the consultant tells me my front differential was leaking and needed to be replaced at a cost of $12,000. Service consultant said this confidently, no cap. I probed about actual differential levels and he claimed in order to check it or find the leak location, it would require dismantling. Claimed these things happen despite the fact I rarely drive this vehicle. I didn't buy any of his explanations. I took my car back to my main independent BMW mechanic and asked if he could check the differential. He suspected the oil around the differential was simply residue from a messy previous oil change. He cleaned it off and told me to drive the vehicle for a month and return so he could inspect it again. I returned a month later. The differential was completely clean. No leak. No issue. So recap: Eastbay BMW wanted $12,000 to replace a leaking differential that showed no evidence of leaking. Whether this was gross negligence or an attempt to sell an unnecessary repair, I find it completely unacceptable. This service department has permanently lost my trust. If you get service here, please get a second opinion. read more

We started our hunt for a very particular car at Steven's Creek BMW. We left that location feeling almost like we were a "bother" to the sales person. There no one wanted to show us even a comparable car to the one we were looking to obtain, nor test drive, nothing, just an interior tour AFTER I suggested it. The next day, East Bay BMW called us up offering to UBER us to the store. They had the dream car and were happy to wash it up and get it ready for a test drive. From the receptionist greeting, the quick hand off to our sales person, and even the ease of talking through final packages in financing, I was dumbstruck with how hospitable and understanding the staff was. Nothing felt forced, it just felt like they wanted to welcome us into the BMW family with open arms, and in a way that was comfortable to our household. They sell a maintenance package (about $8k promising a loaner every time you dropoff for service), then give you a one way shuttle (the "service specialist" will ghost you when you need a shuttle back). Dropped my car for an oil change at 8 am and never heard back from them until 12 pm, showed up using Lyft and picked the car. They sent me a video advising I replace my rear tires due to multiple punctures on both. Took it to America's tires and they said those were rocks on one and fixed the puncture on the second for free. I have had amazing experiences from Subaru and Lexus dealerships, this one felt like a complete scam. Happy to share proof of everything I have listed. I usually don't waste my time writing negative reviews unless it's well-deserved, and unfortunately, the sales team at East Bay BMW did it for me. I'd scheduled a test drive for a particular vehicle for Saturday, and we'd confirmed on Friday. To my surprise, I arrived early and a nice sales rep offered to track down the vehicle for me, only to inform me the vehicle wouldn't be ready until the following Wednesday due to needing service and parts having not arrived. There was no communication beforehand this would be a possibility, and no communication afterwards from the sales rep I was supposed to meet with (see attached photos), and I wasted at least two hours driving from San Francisco and back. On top of that, they send an automated message that I've "missed my appointment" and asked me to reschedule. Really disappointing, especially how they have a sign posted in the showroom which reads, "The customer's time is most important." Ridiculously ironic. I don't think I'll ever be back here and would actively advise against shopping here. read more

Service Manager Josh Presinal is fantastic and has implemented service management in a way that offers lower costs than any independent shop--and the lowest among all BMW dealerships in the Bay Area. For my older 5 Series, I received quotes of $1,400 for the front brakes and $1,100 for the rear. However, through my service advisor Lou Rios, Josh offered to replace all brakes, pads, and sensors for just $1,540 out the door. They also offer an oil change special: $249 for three years starting from the first oil change. They conducted a thorough inspection of my car and even shared a video detailing everything it needed immediately, as well as items that were aging due to wear and tear but could wait. This is the most transparent dealership I've ever dealt with. Highly recommended! Talk to them if your car needs anything. read more

I don't think this dealer deserves any star. They don't care about customer service. Took my car for service and a few other items which address to my service consultant last time I went there. According to them they did an oil service and a few other recommendations. However after nearly 2 weeks all the service warning indicator is on and to be honest not sure if they perform anything. I had to inform the shop foreman that my car door has issues to be check and at first he was not eager to even look at situation or work on it. After picking the car it is still making major wind noise. When ask the service director why was this not solve, his response was that we only work on what bmw allows us, which is a major lie or BS on his end. I had another dealer look at it and they inform me that it is not normal and make an appointment for them to look at issue and fix it. Other issue was my snart key wasn't working and all they did was delete my phone and never address the issue. When ask the GM why I had to issue this he was very defensive and backing up his team. I see why they fret such horrible service. All my concern was address with BMW and they were very disappointed. After picking up my car it was like park under a tree and dirty. Please consider taking your business elsewhere and I won't give name of people but east bay bmw service department is really bad. Responsiveness to email inquiry & facilitating my request: 5 Stars Negotiating pricing on used vehicle: 1 Star Attentiveness of staff: 3 Stars Professionalism: 3 Stars Attention to detail: 3 starts I emailed asking for a detailed quote on a used vehicle. With one clarification email, I was given a full detailed OTD quote. This is near impossible for most dealerships apparently. When we arrived, we waded around for a bit before seeking out assistance to locate our salesman. After introduction and pleasantries I tried negotiating a lower price and was basically told no chance. Fine, we were ready to pay that number from the start but I was never given a 100% confirmation on the service history, as to whether an oil change had been done since they took it on trade. I was able to negotiate them providing first oil service, which the sales team tried leaving out of the "due bill" (nice try). All said and done we were pleased and it was fairly quick (brought our own pre-approval, could've paid cash). The final disappointment, receiving an email the very next day from the salesman letting me know the vehicle I was interested in had sold & asking if I was interested in another vehicle *facepalm*.... Attention to detail, knowing I can spend 2 hours in front of you, and a day later you won't remember I actually bought from you. Gives me a warm fuzzy as a customer. read more

Bought a used bmw from a private lot. Went to East Bay BMW to do an inspection. Had the pleasure of working with Everardo Diaz in service. He is professional, knowledgeable, and pretty chill. Made the process very smooth. Surprised how quick he was able to schedule me to bring the car in (next day). It looked pretty busy when I got there. Cars in and out. He was later able to address some concerns and I am able to return the vehicle to the private lot within the return policy window. There was another service advisor who helped me out on some questions I had about replacing a battery. Everyone there seemed ready and willing to help. Also, shout out to David in the parts dept. Waited for me after closing to get a battery that I wanted for my other car. Solid! Not to mention their prices are far more reasonable than other dealers in the area. Kier and Everado are great service advisors and always take the time to explain maintenance and repairs in detail and have your best interest in mind when in taking the car for service. Our service tech Eric Ho Has worked on all my cars and does a great job in making sure nothing is missed during inspections. If you're looking for a reliable and trustworthy bmw dealer I highly recommend east bay bmw they even offer a uber pick up and drop offs near the area while your car is being worked on as well as snacks and beverages in the guest lounge. Pretty rude parts person that answered the phone. Asked about a CS steering wheel that BMW NA list price at $620. Told me it was $1000+ for his quote- what a healthy margin on the MSRP. Asked him to price match NorthWest BMW in Seattle. Said no and said it had to be local Bay Area for price match. Reasonable enough. I asked to confirm that if I could find it for lower price from a major BMW dealership in the Bay Area - he would price match it. He said definitively yes. Ok I call back later as BMW of SF which is one of the flagship dealerships in Bay Area: sells it for Part Number Part Name Price Quantity Total 32-30-8-746-879 Steering Wheel $545.08 1 $545.08 I called again and told him here you go - we can price match as agreed earlier?. he said: COOL, GO GET IT FROM THEM THEN. backtracking and rude. well, don't tell me that you can price match it then. you were so confident that I wouldn't be able to get that price when in fact all dealerships have it at at least list price or lower... then act all annoyed when I was able to get a lower price in the Bay Area. read more

Colonoscopies, root canals, and car dealerships are my least favorite things in the world. My BMW was overdue for some recalls so I bent over, braced myself, and took my beloved car to Easy Bay BMW. The drop-off was super easy. Pretty much leave the keys and go. The service advisor will call you later to discuss what you need. I talked to my advisor, Miriam Flores, and told her I needed something checked. She said I would be charged a diagnostic fee and I agreed. She called and said they couldn't figure out what was wrong. I had just had my car checked with my wrench so I knew exactly what maintenance was needed. East Bay BMW didn't try to sell me anything I didn't really need, which was impressive. Almost every car repair place tries to upsell brakes, tires, or something. Picked up my car the next day. Again, super easy.
