Meters parking around the restaurant. The restaurant is very clean and bright which has a very good family atmosphere here. The owners are very friendly. Service is excellent. I tried several of the chicken wings before and my favorite was the Crispy Fried Shoyu Wings and Crispy Fried Garlic Wings. The chicken wings were very juicy, flavorful and tender. The skin coating was very crispy. It's so delicious, just like what I had in Korea. I also tried their bentos and I love their Kalbi bento and Spicy Pork bento. Prices are pretty reasonable. Came here after doing some paperwork, near all of the downtown federal and state offices so it was a perfect walking distance. There's street parking outside (metered). My partner really wanted meat jun and they just happened to have a menu beyond the typical vons chicken menu which included meat jun. The chicken took a bit as they were making it fresh. The meat jun was good, not the best I've had but no complaints from my partner. The real garlic chicken was crispy, fresh, and flavorful. My only complaint is the size, as each piece is quite tiny. However if you don't eat much, i'm sure the half portion would suffice (which is what I got). The establishment is small and the service is friendly and the vibe gave off that it may be family ran? This is dangerously close to where I work. I will have to exercise much discipline to not eat here once a week if I want to watch my cholesterol LOL I'm a big fan of Korean Fried Chicken so ordering their garlic wings is an automatic for me. If you plan in advance, you can call in your oder, otherwise it's a reasonable wait time for them to fry it up. The dining area is clean. They offer specials so just check the board by the front door. And this is what I loved to observe during my wait.....their rapport with their vendor making a delivery of several cases of chicken. It truly is great customer service and work relationship when the owners can take the time to chat it up with their delivery person. Damn, their snow chicken wings were sooo yummy. I always get shoyu fried chicken every Korean chicken place I go to, but wanted to try something new and this was a spot on! I also ordered rice and kimchi, radish on the side ($2/each) and other than the rice, those two side dishes came in a sauce container that I thought was a bit too small. I was feeling a bit peckish (bad pun intended). Would Von's make me cluck contentedly or make me bock unhappily? If you saw the 5 star rating, then you'd know this chick was happy afterwards. (I promise that is the last chicken wordplay.) The mandoo had crispy edges, but they weren't burnt, making for a nice contrast between the soft filling / most of the wrapper and the crunchiness of the edges. They disappeared in a flash. I recently had fast-food chicken for the first time in about two years. Interestingly, while I liked it, it was not as good as I remember it. (The diet I've been on altered my taste buds.) The fried wings from Von's had the flavor that was missing from the recent fast-food chicken place order. I could have gone to town on those, but I wanted to try the "snow" wings (cheese and onion). They were good, but the flavor was subtle. Too subtle for me. I couldn't detect the onion at all and desired much more of a cheesy flavor. But I'd order them again, for certain. Despite Grubhub's poor service ( I don't typically use them for a variety of reasons, but I had a gift card), the wings were still crispy despite the delivery delay. Football Sunday and I was on my way to escutcheon the game and thought about getting buffalo chicken wings. I walked passed Vons and stopped in. They specialize in chickens wings and various flavors to include a mild Korean Spice wing (#2 on their menu). Closest flavor to buffalo wings. I placed a half order (10 pieces)), they were perfectly cooked, the seasoning was more of a mild spicy sweet sauce and it was just fine. The wings are big and probably the most generous I have had on island. The owners are friendly and helpful. Decided to stop by here for lunch today. The restaurant was nice and welcoming but was temperature was rather warm inside. The AC appeared on, but it was very warm which made it uncomfortable to sit and wait for our food. The cashier stated that our food would take about 15 min long to be ready but it did actually took about 25 min. We ordered 4 fried shoyu chicken plates. Each plate was $11.99. We were shocked to see that it only had 4 pieces of chicken in the plate and each additional piece of chicken was $1.50 a piece. I wasn't impressed with the chicken. The flavor was bland and the chicken was still a little pink in color on the inside. Although it was crispy on the outside, my overall impression of the chicken was blah... The rice was good, but the kimchee appeared to be old and had a weird taste. I could not eat it. The mandoo was not fried all the way through which was a big turn off. Very excited to return from Korea and to find a very own Korean fried chicken restaurant taking up space in my neighborhood. Von's, previously located on Nuuanu Avenue has now moved to Halekauwila St, adjacent and in the same building as Max and Lucy's eatery. Purchased for takeout (even though there is a small space inside, it really is meant to be mostly a takeout spot) half an order of their garlic flavored KFC and half an order of their shoyu flavored. The kind lady behind the counter threw in a roll of kimbap compliments of the house. And the quality of food? The chicken was perfectly seasoned, bursting with just the right amount of flavor. It was tender and juicy and crispy at the same time. At $15 for 11 pieces, $31 for two small boxes I was initially a bit sticker shocked. Still, at $1.40 a piece it seems more than reasonable...for the time, cost of ingredients, cleanup. And, for the convenience I will sure to be back. I wasn't impressed with Korean Fried Chicken back home until I tried Vons! My husband and I were hesitant to try Korean Fried Chicken after trying it back home in Canada. After some convincing, my son bought from Vons and it changed everything. He ordered Crispy Fried Sweet & Chili and Crispy Fried Shoyu. Half size orders are 10 pcs each while full sizes are 20 pcs. Prices are $13.99 and $25.49 respectively. I love how the chicken retains its crispness despite being tossed in the sauce. Batter of chicken isn't thick either. When Von's opened up on Halekauwila Street, I was very pleased! I did not have Von's before and over the past year, had meant to stop by one of the other locations but never gotten around to it. But with this location within a 3-4 minute walk from my work place, why not now? So this past week I got some of my office-mates together to order 3 different types of wings; fried, shoyu and garlic flavored. Wow - the price is on the higher end ($26.49 / 20 wings for garlic; $24.49/20 for regular fried; and $25.49/20 for shoyu) - and that is just for the wings! Buy fries or other things, that is extra. But since I had waited this long, and seeing all the other review, heck, why not? Gotta try something at least once! So I phone ordered (this location they highly recommend you phone order, or you have to wait 40 - 45 min if you walk in), walked over at the prescribed time and they had it waiting for me, which was great. Got chx, french fries and some kim chee. Then the test at the office ....! Took a crispy fried piece, bit into it .... 'meh', it was 'okay.' Just fried, not that much flavor. Garlic chx tasted better, and the shoyu wings were a-okay. The wings are not the drummette parts ... the middle wingette part. So lots of skin, not that much meat... I guess it depends what you like. Some people like the skin and forget the meat! For me, I would have like the drummette more. Small establishment on the side. Very clean and spacious with a little seating area. There is a short menu outside the window so it's easier to know what you want when entering. Once I entered, I was greeted and ordered the #2 which was the fried seasoned mild which is 10 pieces of chicken. I also bought me a can of soda was about 1.00 I was given 10 pieces of chicken crispy mild along with tteokboki. A very nice add to the 10 piece chicken I ordered. They said it will take 15 minutes but it only took 10 the most, very fast. It came out freshly made!! Chicken was freshly cooked to perfection and the free tteokboki, 12 pieces to be exact went well with it . It was a good mild taste on the chicken and the tteokboki was broiled nicely crisp on the outside with soft and chewy inside with a little drizzle of spicy sweet sauce on top. I enjoyed my meal and will definitely go back to Vons. Although it's a bit expensive, 10 pieces for 14.99 , it was good to eat. I will definitely eat Vons chicken when I can. It's not often I crave fried food so when I do, I want the best. Vons Chicken is definitely the best. This newer location on Nuuanu is one I haven't been to. They are in the same building as Nuuanu Okazuya. You can't miss them as they are bright orange with pictures of chicken wings on their windows. If you're lucky you'll get street parking but I wasn't and had to illegally park. Due to COVID-19, they are take out only as a heads up. I called in my order at 10am and when it got to the person asking my name, something happened with the call. She couldn't hear me all of a sudden and hung up. Called back a few times and finally got my order in. I arrived a little after 10:20am and walked in. Paid but my order wasn't ready but all good since I was early. While waiting I ran into Peter C which was nice. Haven't seen him in awhile due to COVID-19. 10:42am and my order is finally done. During my wait, I was able to move my car to a metered stall. Even though they were behind, I didn't mind too much because they are worth the wait. Normally I order Crispy Fried Seasoned Spicy, Crispy Fried Shoyu and Crispy Real Garlic but this time I changed it up and ordered Crispy Fried Seasoned Spicy and Honey Butter (Yelp GF wanted this). Five years ago, Hawai'i was introduced to another kind of finger-lickin' good KFC that's not the traditional American Southern-style of Colonel Sander's fame. This crisp competitor is the Korean Fried Chicken chain called "Vons Chicken". My family had its first taste of Vons Chicken when it opened in Kalihis Pālama Supermarket food court...since then, the franchise has grown to 6 locations. This one on Nuuanu Avenue is the 6th and newest location. This franchise which started in Korea with its chicken and beer cafés has locations in Vietnam, Australia, and in select US cities. Korean Fried Chicken is noted for its all-around crispy exterior because they use a light batter that doesn't soak up much oil. The chicken wings are tasty and succulent. That being said, after reading reviews from many Yelp Friends about this location, we decided to get out KFC fix. Upon entry, we were immediately greeted by Julie. We could see her smile through her eyes and hear her cheery voice. Being that my husband and I have eaten at the other Vons Chicken locations, we knew which menu item that we wanted. We placed our order for the 20 piece Crisp Fried Shoyu Chicken priced at $20.99. Yes, it's pricier than other fried chicken chains but it's the flavor, textures and quality of these KFC that we're after. While waiting (about 16 minutes) for the made-to-order fried chicken, we noticed that Vons Chicken will soon be able to serve alcoholic beverages (just as they do in Korea) along with their fried chicken and Korean snacks. This location ALSO took over the former Club Boomerang so they have a bar set up with multiple seating options. Tsk, our State's economic reopening strategies haven't progressed up to a Long Term Recovery phase. So, until then, we are just happy to get the KFC and Korean snacks. The male co-owner kindly offered us a cold soft drink or water while we waited outside to allow others to go in to either place orders or pick up takeouts. When he handed us our order, we could feel the heat from the freshly fried chicken wing and the teriyaki-like aroma filled our car's interior. We wanted to dig in right away but knew it wouldn't be safe for us to do so because the chicken was so hot. When we arrived home, we tore into the box to allow the chicken to cool a bit while the aroma filled our dining room. I had made a pot of steamed white rice and had some kimchee which we got from H Mart to complete our meal. We noticed the KFC Shoyu flavor had been brushed onto each piece rather than being tossed into a bowl. The crisp crunch of the exterior was exactly what we expected and the flavors were consistent with the other locations. Vons Chicken came to the rescue on an evening that I didn't feel like cooking. My sister called our lunch "Wings Wednesday". We were going to try every flavor (except spicy) and discuss. Our youngest sister gave us the heads up: the shoyu flavor is the best . Hmmm... At about 11:30am on Wings Wednesday, there were many empty metered parking stalls in front of the shop. I went up to the cashier and placed my order. She apologized for her English skills, so I pointed at the six flavors of half orders that i wanted and one order of mandoo. Since I had to wait a few minutes, she invited me to have a seat and gave me 4 free cans of soda to take home. Wow... so generous! She also gave me a free order of rice cake and an extra order of mandoo with sweet spicy sauce. Thank you! It was rather warm inside, so, i stood on the sidewalk. By that time, all of the metered parking spaces were filled. There was a line of customers, too! Wow! I was so happy to beat the crowd! I drove to my mom's house after receiving the packages of food. Half spicy fried chicken - It is spicy if you eat a lot. The chicken was flavored well and the meat was tender. I thought it would be soggy chicken but it was somewhat crispy. Half garlic chicken - This has some flavor. Freshly fried and lightly seasoned. Meat was tender. I like to keep my fried chicken simple. Rice cake - we didn't order it but I think the owner gave it to us for free. It wasn't anything fancy. It was very simple. Mochi drowned in the spicy sauce. Mochi was soft and chewy. Mandoo - simple appetizer. The sauce was more on the sweeter side. Not too spicy. Don't remember what was inside the mandoo, don't think it had meat. It was noodles and veggies I believe. So back in late-August while I was stalking..........err, admiring one of my friends on my Yelp activity feed, I witnessed Brian M.'s check in to this brand new location of Vons Chicken (VC). He soon posted his review and I bookmarked here to try. It's just a few doors down from Nuuanu Okazuya and in my neighborhood. Then just yesterday I read Jo Y.'s review of this Von's location and in addition to Vons' stellar fried chicken wings, she highly praised the customer service here. You see, I pretty much frequent Vons on Pensacola where the customer service over there is at bare minimum. I recently got my flu shot and have been feeling sluggish since then. It was dinner time and I didn't really feel like cooking nor driving far to pick up food. This was a great opportunity to try out here. I ended up NOT calling my order ahead of time as I wanted to use my waiting time taking some photos for this review. I easily found street parking on Nuuanu Ave and walked in. I was greeted by the female staff, who is indeed customer service oriented. I pretty much knew what I was ordering as I'm a creature of habit and get the same things over and over with Vons. I paid for my order and used the waiting time taking some photos. Due to our 2nd lockdown during COVID-19, it's strictly carry out only but when observing this location, there are some tables, booths and a bar so there's potential to eat those wings fresh and wash it down with some beers. I was given an update on my order with just a few more minutes. My overall waiting time didn't seem long as my food was packed up and I was ready to go. I then drove straight home and after taking some food pics, I started to dig in. The quality of the chicken wings is CONSISTENT and spot on. They were piping hot, plump and juicy. Not oily nor any unpleasant aftertaste. I got a full order of the crispy shoyu, sides of rice cake (first time for me) and pickled daikon. To my surprise, I was given complimentary mandoo and a can of soda. The rice cakes were slightly deep fried and then drizzled with this mild Korean sauce. This was very good and I'd order this again. Overall, an amazing first experience of this new VC on Nuuanu Ave and so happy it's near my home. I no longer have to drive to the Pensacola location to get my chicken wing fix. During Covid-19 review Vons Chicken now has another location on Nuuanu Avenue next to Nuuanu Okazuya, rejoice all you fried chicken lovers! I went to pick up some Okazuya for lunch and when I walked out Bamm! There it was, the Vons Chicken Sign. I hesitated for a second threw my Okazuya plate in the car and headed in Vons to grab some chicken for dinner. So I order a half order of regular wings (10 pcs $12.49). They're only doing take out for now while the lockdown is on, but this place has booths and a bar with seating. I can just see myself having some spicy wings with a few cold ones here. The lady who helped me was so polite and appreciative, I just want to give them more business just for those reasons. Vons hours for now is.. I'd give this business 0 stars if I could!!! The owner of this Vons Chicken location is rude and disrespectful, also feels very entitled! There was an on duty police officer parked on the street fronting the business as she was directing traffic for the construction company working on the street, when the owner of Vons Chicken drove up and told the police officer to move her car because it's blocking his business. Mind you, he owns the business, not the side walk, not the road, and should not be ordering Police Officers on where they should be parked while on duty with their blue lights on! As if he wasn't rude enough, he proceeds to park his car behind the police car and make a complaint to the construction foreman in charge of the job site. The owner of Vons chicken demanded that the police officer move her work vehicle so he could park in that spot-- mind you that the street is a NO PARKING ZONE. The sense of entitlement that this business owner has is so heinous! He proceeded to then call one of his police officer buddies to complain and have him come by to tell the working police officer to move her car. I've also tried all the other flavors and have always been pleasantly surprised. I was ono for fried chicken and yelped for some suggestions. I wanted to avoid the regular corporate fried chicken brands. I was in town so I tried this Von's. Being a downtown location, it was slow on a Sunday afternoon. The owner was welcoming as I placed my order. I got plain chicken with the garlic and spicy sauces, mild rice cakes and honey butter fries. I was so excited to take my order home and dig in. They did not disappoint, everything was so yummy! The honey butter fries were addictive! My mom just told me that she can't get the thought of the delicious chicken out of her head! She never makes comments like that! There is something special about Korean fried chicken that brings a smile on your face and an inevitable craving for kim chee and soju. Vons has been serving up it chicken wings to our fair city over the years and their next location off Nuuanu is taking it to a whole another level. For some reason the chicken tasted better here. I can't explain it. The chicken wings and drumsticks have always been served up fresh and made to order. They have the simple breading that coats the chicken in a delicate balance and bodes to the flavor of the chicken versus the spice that we've come to expect from American fried chicken. It was just really good and I'm often finding myself with a simple craving to stop by. If you don't know where to begin, their crispy fried is a good and simple place to begin your flavor journey. The shoyu version adds a little bit more salt and savory flavor, but the garlic adds a real kick to make it different. If spicy is your thing, they've got you covered. Be sure to add some mandoo or rice cakes to help balance your flavor on your meal. Service was quick when I've gone and they've gone through their growing pains and got their routine down. Call ahead to make your order ready when you get there, but if you happen to forget or the line is busy, the wait for it hasn't been that long. Prices are pretty reasonable and parking is usually available on the street in front. Just try to swing by outside of rush hour, since the stalls are no-parking in the peaktime window. read more

This place is not all hype, it's really one of the best fried chicken ever! I can't believe we struck gold, because this chicken is probably hands down the best on island! Cooked to perfection, and the flavors you can choose will be overwhelming. We tried the snow wings, I could taste both a little bit of sweet and savory. The cheddar cheese and onion I couldn't taste as much really. The garlic one was my favorite so far. The garlic seasoning was perfect it was hard to put down. I will say I'll come back for more. They have multiple flavors I'm sure for whatever you're in the mood for. I'm not into sweet so much so I know I'll be more into the savory ones. The fries are thin and crispy like I like my fries. The rice cake were perfect, because at some places they're a bit tough and these were exactly what I was looking for. The service was good, just keep in mind the chicken is made to order so give them about 15 minutes or so. Or call them and drive by to pick them up is also an option if you don't want to wait. It's pretty cozy inside and not a lot of seating, but I think it's perfect as most orders are usually more pick up given that street parking might be challenging depending when you go visit. So this place is on Nuuanu just south of Vineyard. It's a small place that if you blink you will pass right by it. There's a couple of parking stalls right in front but be careful on weekdays cause of the afternoon tow zone (3:30-5:30pm). Now to the food...all I get when I come here is the boneless chicken plate...they have fried, mild fried, spicy fried and shoyu fried...I've had the regular and spicy so far....one word...awesome!!! The crunch the flavors just fricken awesome...this place for me would have gotten 5 except I'm not a fan of the macaroni salad...it's different it all I can say. The staff is awesome and they have other stuff but I'm one of those guys who wants what I like, lol. I was very excited to try Vons because I love a crispy fried chicken... who doesn't. I had been in Chinatown so stopped at Vons on Nuuanu. It was early so parking was easy. People are nice and the gal behind the counter said shoyu is the most popular. I wanted more than 10 pieces and wanted to try more flavors so I went with garlic. They said it would their 25 minutes snd would bring it out to my car...great customer service. It was ok. Maybe because I had to drive to my friends place that the chicken wasn't as crispy. Shoyu was good, garlic a bit strong for me. They need to have a take out container that allows he steam to vent. read more

Who needs UFC when you got KFC? And KFC in this case stands for Korean fried chicken, only one of the best type of chicken around. I don't know about you but vons is one of my favorite Korean fried chicken places. They've got a few locations all over the island but the one on Halekauwila is closest to my workplace so I tend to stop by whenever I'm too lazy to make dinner. The portion size for a full is huge and while I can eat like 10 in one sitting, I still have enough chicken left for the next day (this counts as meal prep, right?). Price is a little steep, but I don't mind because I enjoy their chicken that much. Favorite flavors are the seasoned in mild (I used to get the spicy flavor but my stomach ain't the same anymore ) and the garlic chicken. Their chicken sizes are big and the flavor is always consistently delicious. It's always so crispy as well and I like how they leave the take out box open so the chicken doesn't get soggy. Vons Chicken (VC) has added another location on Nuuanu Ave. next to Nuuanu Okazuya! Just opened on 8/24/20 by husband and wife owners Jason and Julie, this franchised restaurant adds to the existing Ala Moana, Makaloa, Pensacola, and Waimalu locations. The VC franchise started in Korea as chicken and beer cafes, with their chicken being very popular. It expanded to CA in 2014 and has continued with more locations in CA, WA, ID, CO, HI and other states. It first opened in HI in Palama Supermarket in Kalihi in mid-2015 (before moving to Pensacola St.). Just as with the other locations, this Vons Chicken has a simple menu, specializing in crispy fried chicken wings and drumettes with different flavors: regular, seasoned mild, seasoned spicy, shoyu, real garlic, cheese and onions, and honey butter. The chicken wings can be either half order (10 pieces) or full order (20 pieces). The chicken can be ordered ala carte or with rice, 2 pieces of mandoo, and mac salad. There are also side dishes of mandoo and rice cake. I love the fried chicken wings, especially the shoyu flavor! The chicken is coated with a light batter and then fried and drizzled with a slightly sweet teriyaki-like shoyu sauce. Note that the sauces and other ingredients (except the chicken) are sourced from Korea. No preservatives are used, and ingredients are all fresh. As the chicken wings are made to order, they are amazingly delicious when you eat them temperature hot and crispy, right out of the fryer. Since it takes about 15 minutes to prepare your order (and even longer if there are others waiting for their orders), be sure to call in your order so that it will be ready by the time you arrive. You'll meet Julie, who handles the ordering and the payments. She is so personable and friendly! For the both times I visited there over the past two weeks, she offered me a complimentary drink (canned soda/juice or bottled water) and 5 pieces of mandoo on my first visit for their grand opening promotion. For my second visit, she offered a complimentary drink again, and I had a coupon from the Sunday paper for complimentary 10 pieces of rice cake. After paying for my order, I proceeded to wait outside, but Julie was nice enough to tell me to wait inside, as I could sit down. She kindly provided updates, e.g., 5 more minutes, 3 more minutes, almost done. She thanked me several times for coming, and I could tell that she was very grateful for her customers visiting this location for the first time. While she is tending to her customers, her husband and cook, Jason, is busy in the kitchen cooking everyone's orders. He came out once to open a 2nd door to the restaurant and politely told me "good morning" as I sat and waited for my order. Great customer service provided by these owners! With COVID-19 restrictions in place, VC is take-out only at this time. Masks for staff and all customers and social distancing requirements are in compliance. The interior of the restaurant allows for dine-in (as allowed by COVID guidelines), as there are a couple of booths and tables. There is also a bar, not surprising, as this was the former location of Club Boomerang (its outside sign not yet removed). I envision this restaurant to be a lively place once the dine-in and bar is operational. The restaurant is open Tues. to Sun., 10a - 8p. Credit cards and cash are accepted. Limited metered street parking is available fronting the restaurant, and both times I was able to find available parking without much effort. Looking forward to returning to VC Nuuanu whenever that craving sets in or if there is a need for a potluck dish. So welcoming that the parking is a little bit more accessible than other nearby locations and the great customer service provided by its owners! read more

I highly recommended Vons Chicken specially when you have some sort of gathering with family or party with friends, birthday party or whatever party it is, for me, Vons chicken is a must have. Unfortunately we can't do those things during Covid-19. I heard there is new Vons Chicken place on Nuuanu St. I love their food, so I drove there and ordered it . I ordered: *fried chicken (full size $22.99) -the chicken is very moist and juicy inside. After the first bite I'm stop talking and eating like I never eat for one week haha super yum! Wow!!! So surprised that wasn't oily yet so crispy! *side menu rice cake $3.99 -outside is crispy and inside is chewy if you like mochi I highly recommend this one *vons chicken sauce (Spicy and mild) -both sauces are amazing but I like spicy sauce because it seems like a natural ingredients rather than those chemical sauces. By the way, this spicy sauce are not crazy spicy. Usually you can taste the differences between chemical or natural ingredients. For me when I eat spicy sauce with like chemical ingredients on it my stomach hurts but this one doesn't. In addition, this sauce compliments the chicken *pickle dikon -in korea, we called this Chicken moo meaning must have when there is a fried chicken. This one is crunchy and so tasty inside, kind of sweet perfect match with VONS CHICKEN. During this pandemic we are so careful especially in our food. Make sure is clean and at the same time delicious. this place is so clean and the workers are so professional and super friendly. I highly recommend this location. read more

Recently, perhaps as a subconscious response to stress, cabin fever, and social anxiety, I've been spending my lunch breaks seeing how far across downtown I can speed walk. When I saw that Vons had opened a location literally on the opposite side of downtown it was a challenge I had already committed to. There's only room for one person inside and the menu on the wall outside was literally larger than the standing room--which is great for social distancing. At the behest of a friend who regularly has Vons in his mainland town, I got the mild boneless chicken, waited maybe ten minutes with three other orders in front or me and got a free drink! Nice, great promotion especially since it's hot and their downtown clientele probably have to walk a few blocks to reach here. Anyway I had a few pieces after running for fifteen minutes while the plate hulied, when waiting for the elevator since I was almost late from my break, and a few more two hours later. The chicken was super tasty, the flavor reminded me of spicy cup noodle but in a good way. There were pieces of skin mixed inside and it was all super crispy and juicy, still fresh tasting after being shaken around in 90 degree weather. Generous portion and only $9 is a steal downtown--enough for two meals depending on your appetite. Mac sad was pretty good, it was the less mushy version with bits of celery and ham, still not super healthy but it tasted healthier than the rest of the plate. There were two crispy pieces of manju with lots of meat inside. Great new lunch place, but time will tell if my body is up for the challenge of speed walking back here during my lunch break (although they are open for dinner). read more
