Expired food

They sell expired food if y'all are interested. Disgusting. If you shop here, please be careful and check the expiration dates.

special order wine case frewine sutter home

Awesome customer service from Aaron W (I think on the W). He special ordered 6 cases of FreWine alcohol removed wine for me. My family is in full quarantine and my dad has Dementia. Having a no booze wine that he can cheers with may seem trivial, but makes all the difference for him in the moment, and contributes to the family dynamic that is soooo important, especially in these days. Normally, we buy all the Fre off the shelves, and usually it lasts us. But sometimes we come up short and are faced with providing regular wine that we cut or trying some other mocktail he doesn't like, and he ends up feeling left out. Aaron ordered us 6 cases without breaking a sweat, was super communicative (even texting while off the clock), and understanding throughout. I placed the request through a very gracious checker (I wish I'd caught his name), and picked it up from checker John J, who also was exemplary in helping me load up and ring out. Aaron got in touch with me right away, and kept me posted throughout. The turnaround was three days, he was quick to confirm and let me know the status of the order, and really went out of the way to make it happen with a personal touch. It may not seem like a big deal, but his effort to procure this (somewhat silly) product, has made such an impact on this family of nine who's patriarch loves to drink wine, but can't have any of the alcoholic kind. Aaron, I hope you see this, and recognize how much you benefited this family, me, and my dad. Thank you soooo much. Cheers! -patrick!

Rude unhappy employees. The store is small but you expect that for this location. The employees make it a terrible experience.

Why can't we have a normal size Vons? I've heard that there is some rule on the books in Ojai to prevent Vons from expanding or relocating? Why? A new store would give a major boost to the morale of employees and Ojai residents.

Good question! Ojai has plenty of restrictions to keep Ojai small and quaint. :)

I visited Rainbow Bridge Natural Foods in Ojai and while the food was great, the service was very…read moredisappointing. Three employees saw us at the register and ignored us. I had to call one over, and she asked me to walk to her instead of coming to the cashier. I ordered a hamburger with just cheese and a juice (which I repeated twice). The juice never came, and the burger arrived with lettuce and tomato. The attitude from the staff was not friendly, and even others in line noticed. Great food, but service is part of the experience. I hope they improve their customer service.

Rainbow Bridge is a healthy, hippie market in Ojai with all sorts of treats and eats. I've come…read morehere so many times, and sometimes honestly it's been a real "miss", usually with untrained or unfriendly employees. One time, my husband and I got the ready made "minestrone", which was a bowl of broken, soggy pasta noodles and broth. Ummmm, that's not minestrone... it's compost. Worst experience was when an employee shamed me for returning an (unused, unopened) item with the receipt. Like, what possibly could have been her problem other than she didn't want to be bothered by me to do her job? But, deep breath, other times it has been a "hit", and for those times I'm thankful. My most recent visit was the other day, with my daughter, as we were just in town for the day, and we wanted to pick up a few things to take with us on our roadtrip. We got a variety of things from organic fruit, to hummus and crackers, to vegan probiotic smoothies, and of course some yummy dark chocolates. The planets were aligned for us on this visit, and we were glad.

It's located in a parking lot behind the main strip and in a residential area. All street parking but it tends to be pretty easy. There's a bakery vendors that I've had a few times but they do sell out quite fast. Their fresh baked bread and sweets are one not to be missed. This visit, they weren't there in their usual section so I assume they were pretty much sold out fast. Loads of fresh organic vendors with all their goods. As it was summer, there were so many vendors with amazing tomatoes. Heirlooms, grape tomatoes and so all. Everything all looked so fresh and I'm sure it was straight from the farm that morning. Also loads of other vendors selling their homemade goods, like soap to candles to everything in between. Majority of the vendors are fresh produce so you know you'll be picking up fresh farm products. Also fresh flowers are always a must when a visiting the farmers market. Can't forget the fresh berries and fruits. Doesn't scream summer without all the fresh berries straight of the plant. Regardless what you're looking for or not, I'm sure you'll always leave with plenty of fresh things at this market. Their items are always so fresh. A must whenever I'm Ojai. It's always on a Sunday morning.

Prices are a bit more than Oxnard prices but I do think it's great to support local especially seeing the quality difference between local vendors and grocery stores. $13 for eggs still seems a bit steep for recovering from the egg hiked prices where they are now back to $6-7 in grocery stores. There was a vendor that sells sourdough breads and she was quite popular has she always had a line. Caroline's preservative jams are amazing in flavor and quality. I also appreciated that Centri Coffee was there so that I could buy some whole beans.

Also, they get a lot of their stuff where it's just about ready to expire or has expired in some cases For like perishable items. The people there are super friendly and it is changed over the years to a cleaner presentation now with the emphasis more on alcohol it appears, but it is very convenient like I mentioned when you don't want to drive to one of the big grocery store chains that's much further and simply get something really quick. You are going to pay a little more premium for it since you're shopping at this place where they do gotta make a little bit of a profit since they're not a huge change store. As an example if you were to go by a box of cereal there where you can get it probably at a grocery chain store for two or three dollars you're gonna pay probably four or five dollars but again very convenient to have it literally in your backyard pretty much.

Compared…read moreto another olive oil tasting we did in Paso Robles, this one felt a bit more fast-casual and relaxed--which honestly wasn't a bad thing at all. It gives you the freedom to taste everything at your own pace. You order the tasting first, then they give you a tray with delicious sourdough bread from a local bakery. The staff explained that the balsamic vinegars are imported, while all of their olive oils are produced in-house, except for the truffle oil since the local soil isn't suitable for growing truffles. After that, you head over to the tasting section where you can grab samplers of the olive oils and balsamic vinegars before finding a seat outside under the olive trees. The space itself is beautiful and peaceful. There were around 10 olive oils and 10 balsamic vinegars to try. My favorites were the TH (Tuscan Herbs) olive oil and the traditional balsamic. The flavored balsamics were interesting and fun to taste, though I still personally preferred the classic options. Overall, such a fun and worthwhile stop if you're in the Ojai area. Paid $20 for two people. Also, bonus points because they happily give extra sourdough bread if you need more :)

There are no tastings currently. Only a store called a "tasting room."…read more As of 1/30, the website and signs say the "tasting room" is open for business. Based on this, wife, dog and I made a three hour drive to the tasting room. Once there, staff stated tastings were paused due to permit issues for an indefinite time. Business and Professions Code 17500 prohibits false advertising to induce the public to patron businesses. Common sense and decency prohibits this. Staff offered ten percent off products and a voucher for future tasting visits. Staff stated customers should have called before arriving to confirm the website was accurate and that they had no responsibility. Staff was rude. No apologies just a stoic attitude with flippant responses. I purchased products without a tasting that was promised. Please update your website immediately. General public is being harmed. Incredibly disappointing experience.
