This Vons doesn't look like much from the outside, but looks can be deceiving, and even though the interior also feels a little dated, everything was clean, and all the displays seemed to be in good shape. Perhaps even a better sign was that there were many workers on the floor when I visited--not just at the checkout stands but also filling displays with fruit, checking expiration dates, and mopping floors. This supermarket is at the extreme northeast corner of Redondo Beach, and it seems like it serves a wide swath of different shoppers. Perhaps because of this, it felt like it had a very large selection for the size of the store. There's easy freeway access (if you want to call the 405 a freeway), and the parking lot is pretty large. I didn't know whether to feel safer or less safe when I saw two separate security guards patrolling the parking lot. I forgot to write down her name, but my checker was very sweet and pointed out that one of the cans I was buying was dented. She sent the bagger to grab another can, and while he was gone, she started bagging my groceries. Whatever her name is, she deserves a raise! read more

As far as I can remember this place has never did me wrong. Everytime I needed something, this place has always delivered. Needed a lock for my locker. Went down to the hardware aisle and picked one up for purchase. It was on sale for $6.99. Went to the self service area to ring it up for payment. The amount stated was $10. I informed the self service attendant to perform a price check. Price check performed and corrected. Paid and went on my way. Process took 5 mins. 7/3/26, 10:20am Only 2 registers open plus the self checkout. No less than 15 people in line per register. Waited over 20 min before the so-called mgr opened another register and then had the audacity to ignore the poor people near the front of the line of the ex register. We customers had to do it for her and let those ahead of us go. What a complete fail on the part of mgmt. Mgr said they were short staffed. That's her job. $5 Friday and a holiday - it's not rocket science. What an embarrassment. If it were not for the incredibly wonderful pharmacy staff(Linda and Yuen) and Joes 24 hour postal - I would not go to this grocery store. What a mess! read more

This Vons grocery store is spacious inside, although old and lack of maintenance. The racks and shelves weren't well organized, fruits weren't very fresh, vegetables and meat sections are only. The positive side is their easy self check out lanes. read more

Delivery service is terrible. Whoever is picking the items in the store is not very good. They picked produce and frozen items first. By the time my order was completed and delivered, ice cream was soft, bagged frozen items were partially thawed which means they will stick together when refrozen. Received an orange that was 1/3 covered with mold and leaking on other items. The actual delivery by door dash was fine. I've been shopping in person at this store for years and no problems, but when I need delivery, I'll switch to Ralph's. read more

Parking is in a big commercial shopping center and there is a Vons gas station as well. Service is always great here from the pharmacy to the cashiers to the workers on the floor they are always more than willing to help answer any questions I love this store it's my go to one stop. read more

I shopped at Vons yesterday to pick up a couple things for Thanksgiving. While I intended on just getting some sausage for stuffing, I ended up spending over $90! They had a great deal on bone-in rib-eye roasts for $6.99/lb with their digital coupon. Kudos to the younger gentleman in the meat department. I was looking for a smaller sized roast and he located one for me in back. I also found Haagen-Dazs ice cream pints for $2.99, with required purchase of 5 items. No problem! It's my favorite grocery store brand. And since I received my vaccine at Albertsons, I was able to apply a 10% off coupon towards my entire purchase at either Albertsons or Vons. Surprisingly, I was expecting the store to be packed the day before Thanksgiving. With a little patience, I was able to shop and be on my way in a reasonable time. read more

Summer in the '80's was awesome. Daily beach visits complete with boogie boards, giant beach towels, Panama Jack Dark Tanning Oil and a Little Playmate filled with diet Coke and ice. If we didn't lunch at The Shack for a famous Shack burger, we'd procure snacks at the nearby fully equipped liquor store which in our opinion was a dream store filled with all the important snack items one would need for a successful day at the beach. By snacks I mean a tub of sour cream, Lipton onion soup and a big bag (or two) of Ruffles potato chips so we could make onion dip right on the sand. To this day none of us have any idea why we didn't prepare it all at home...even more perplexing was the fact we never had an implement to mix the sour cream and soup mix together. Thank goodness for my dual purpose hairbrush, in a pinch the handle was a perfect stirrer. Chalk that one up to whack-a-doodle young people. Variety. This is what I love about national grocery stores. Sure you pay a little more but have you seen the prices at those Organi-bland-veg-alterna-plant markets? They give a whole new meaning to "whole paycheck". Whether you need Frosted Flakes or European butter, diet Coke or milk alternative, produce in all colors of the rainbow or candies to satisfy your sweet tooth or liquor to stock a bar for an epic party you can usually find what you need and want at stores like Vons. For some reason it was June 20th then all of a sudden it was July 4th and dagnabbit I dropped the ball at prepping for the weekend barbecue. Too late (too lazy) to get in gear for potato and macaroni salads, ribs or anything close to a blueberry or apple cobbler. Nope instead I popped on over to Vons for deli prepared salads of macaroni and potato and all the fixins for gourmet burgers and Piña Coladas. I doctored up the potato salad with tarragon, sour cream and scallions and added red onion, cheddar cheese and orange bell pepper to the macaroni salad and just like that I had semi-homemade salads faster then you can say prestidigitation! Hand formed patties for bbq bacon cheddar burgers complete with fresh produce of green leaf lettuce, heirloom tomato, avocado and beer battered onion rings as a garnish or slap 'em on the burger for an extraordinary burger that would have cost you 25 bucks at any of those trendy burger joints. Piña coladas served throughout the day made July 4th a success...all thanks to Vons. So glad you're in the neighborhood. Keep doing what you do. read more

Be careful when you purchase a gift card from this location, I bought a $25 iTunes gift card and the redeeming code was invalid. The store will not give you a refund or exchange the gift card instore you have to call the customer service number on the receipt and deal with them. This Vons is the pits. It's located in between an affluent neighborhood and a not so wealthy neighborhood. It is near a freeway exit where a hooker does business. There could be a mix of clientele but here's why this Vons does not attract folks from the better neighborhood. All customers are treated with mistrust and a lack of respect. As if we are all the lowest common denominator. The store does not step up to be the beacon of equality. It really does the opposite: The supervisors are confrontational, even when they are wrong and their subordinates (checkers, butcher, etc) tell them what's true. No apologies. There is a general lack of manners or good citizenship. What a waste of my time and insult to the industry of customer service. I will not return. read more

This is an update regarding my previous review on their Coinstar machine. I called Coinstar within minutes of writing my previous review because I just couldn't shake that feeling. (I would have sent an email and attached pictures but that wasn't an option.) I spoke to this sweet lady named Chris. I explained that whole situation and mentioned involving the store's manager to no avail. She ran diagnostics from her end resulting to no discrepancies. She added, "There are a few customers who used it after you but we received no complaints." Uh... DUH, because they probably had NO idea how much coins they had! I most likely am one of those rare ones who just happen to have a counter. But anyway, Chris was very patient and immediately took the steps to get me a refund of whatever discrepancies found. I was told it would take approximately 2-3 weeks to process. I received that check today. Needless to say, I'm pretty happy with the outcome. I just wish I didn't have to go through the trouble. And I would most likely go back to my regular go-to Coinstar spot vs. coming back here. I've certainly learned my lesson. read more

This is a good enough average VONS, nothing to complain about. It's right off of the 405 freeway on Inglewood (avenue), so isn't the best part of Redondo Beach, but not that bad either. The street can get a bit congested 'tho, since it's near the freeway off/on ramp. It's a supermarket, so they have lots of things and options when shopping. It's not my personal "go to" location nor retailer, but it's good when it's convenient for me if I'm in the area and need something. Parking is spacious and generally easy unless you're lazy and can't walk just a little big. read more

I stopped by 02-27-23 at 2PM to pick up items to make stew. The entire cold produce section was empty. What happened?

The worse grocery store. There is always a line and they are always out of everything. Fruits and vegetables go bad within 24 hrs. Apples go bad or taste like mush after a day or two. They were once out of bananas and raspberries. The meats are not labeled correctly. Bought what I thought was a ribeye steak and it was actually a NY steak. This is not acceptable. I will not buy any groceries from Vons ever. read more

Bakery quality of product (birthday cake) and customer service throughout the store is excellent. Design of a halfsheet cake was exactly what our daughter wanted and the kids were going back for multiple slices of cake while the parents wished they had ordered a bigger cake! Have used them multiple times and if they are not at the bakery the manager will walk you over to fill out forms or get your cake to you - after you pay for it - of course! I always come here for groceries. Today was the first time I renewed my car registration at the very convenient kiosk they have inside. I shopped for a few things and some how dropped my paper. I come back not even an hour later ask the Manager "Gus" if anyone has returned the paper or anything and he just says well I haven't gotten anything from anyone and just flips up a few papers from where he is and doesn't offer to help in any other way or even bothers to ask any of his staff. This is a really nice Vons located right across from where I work. There is a huge parking lot for the many stores located in the shopping center. I would usually do shopping for my lunch or snacks at this Vons since it's so convenient. There is a Starbucks when you first walk in the narrow entrance which could get clogged with the people lined up for Starbucks. Two schools were nearby so you had a lot of students getting drinks in the morning when I went in. The store has all the regular sections of any grocery. The deli is good with a decent selection of meats & cheeses and salads. The produce section is pretty good too with enough fruits and veggies for regular shopping. I seldom used the meat department because I generally shopped in the pre-made, frozen or produce sections but everything looked good. They have all of the regular aisles, frozen food, and a pharmacy. While it may not be the store that has everything, it is easy and convenient and stocked with most things you need. read more

I came in one morning to grab some cinnamon rolls. All 6 self checkout lanes were closed and they only have 1 lane open with a big line. After standing in line for 9 minutes I gave up and just left. I don't understand what's the point of self checkout if they're closed? What's the point of having a security guard if he's just on his phone?
