My gosh what a difference Claudia makes in the deli, I had her recently and she was amazing, personable, and accommodating. I should have updated with a more positive review but I don't want to mislead other Yelpers because she is here maybe 1 out of 12 times and today was the same hostile poor service that I've become used to here at Vons. I've got to make a change Vons because I'm hating life while here, today still be my last full shop here, I may come for a few items here or there but I will no longer spend $2000 plus a month at this company. I'd give the Vons delivery app a 7 for the first time. We ordered quite a few items, all items were delivered except 2 items that were out of stock. Delivery We had a 7-9 pm delivery window. We received a call from the driver around 9:20pm so the groceries were a little late. We live in an apartment and my husband had to go down to the street and around the corner to pick up the groceries. I was hoping they would deliver to our apartment or at least inside our building. I'm having a csection in 2 weeks so we were trying out this service to see how it worked. Delivery may work better if you live in a single family home, maybe? Groceries They items that were cold were still cold. Fruits and veggies were definitely just grabbed and not hand picked. Avocados are hard as a rock, plums didn't look to great etc. I didn't love the fact that the deli meat bags were open, maybe the person in the deli hadn't sealed it, who knows. My husband added a loaf of bread on the app that we were told wasn't available so he ordered a different one. Somehow we ended up with both loaves sooo, he will be eating a lot of bread! Lastly, eggs....ugh. 7 out of 12 were broken, not a good percentage! I think if it had just been maybe 1 broken I wouldn't care as much but 7!?!? Also, because there were so many broken and they were on top, we had to clean a lot of our other grocery items to remove egg from them. Which is obviously inconvenient. Overall I'd use the service again for closed items, canned foods and non fragile items (like eggs) but I will probably get my own eggs, fruits and veggies. We are going to contact the support team regarding a refund for the eggs. I'll update and let you know about the process. read more

This is conveniently located in a really big plaza next to multiple popular businesses such as In N Out, Baskin Robins, and PetCo. It is off the 405 freeway and on the border of Lawndale and Redondo Beach. Refill your gas if you have to, Arco is so close when you exit. So you can do your one-stop shop here, they have Wells Fargo bank inside and a small Starbucks. They have a flower department, hot and ready to go foods, bakery, plenty of holiday items. Fresh soups and great customer service. There is not one thing that is dirty about this location. The parking lot are spacious, they have great walking areas inside and a variety of great foods at great prices. I really like this location because it is walking distance. The lines do get long on certain holidays, certain hours of the day. They have great deals on Fridays as well! I come here for the alcohol, flowers and knick knacks of grocery items. They also carry their own organic brands as well. I never had any issues with the customer service department or the cashiers, but sometimes should open more than 4 lines. read more

Don't dare ask them to make you a sandwich... You know, at the sandwich stand.... The ladies there literally don't know how to make any of their advertised sandwiches. Let alone the fact that you can clearly tell they're irritated that you asked them to do their job. The guy behind me laughed out loud because it literally took the lady 15 minutes to angrily make my sandwich. She said she didn't have bell peppers or onions. I reminded her we were in a grocery store... she still didn't go get them. Please, don't let me inconvenience you! The management clearly doesn't care at all. Have a friend or a family member go in and ask for a Philly cheese steak sandwich. I was at self checkout today 4/19 early afternoon. There was a deal on strawberries $2 with just for you. Getting to my car noticed I was charged $4. Went back and young lady who was supervising self checkout was rude and a smarty pants. Unprofessional. She accused my family of already using deal. And I gave her my phone to check if I added it. She didn't see deal. I just wanted a $2 refund and I told her I don't want to have to go back to the car. Well, with her accusations I jsit went to get strawberries and got a refund of $4. I don't know who does the training here, but she dropped the ball. All she had to do was give a $2 refund. So whoever trained her, trained her to have the store lose money. $4. Terrible. The fact that she said it was fine for me to do my refund, was really condescending for her to say. It's too bad. I really don't go to this vons for a reason. I had a great experience coming into this Vons. I came in with my friend and we were just shopping around. We were approached by the manager Gus on the meat section. He notified me and my friend that there chicken was discounted for great prices, if we wanted to check it out. He was nice and polite. I have an application on my Iphone that allows me to view all the weekly flyers from all the supermarkets in my area. I am always on the search for the best deals on fruit and found that 3 LBS of Strawberries were on sale at Vons for $2.98 with a Club Card. I do not normally shop at Vons but figured I would this day. This Vons happened to be in the same area that I was passing through. I walked in and observed this Vons to be very large. This Vons had a Coinstar in its lobby as well as a Starbucks. This Vons also had a little deli and bakery. I was looking around for an application for a Club Card toward the front of the store. The Manager asked if he could help me. I told him what I was looking for and I had a Club Card within 1 minute. I am a little sketchy about giving out my real info on these club cards so I may or may not have given them the right information. I walked into the produce section and selected the two basket of strawberries totaling 6 LBS. I walked up to the register and paid for my items and saved $10.04 on my purchase. I save a dollar here & there and at the end of the year it all adds up. If and when this Vons has future deals on items that I want or need I will come back but other than that there are markets closer to my House. This Vons has a HUGE parking lot. Came in to buy some items from a weekly ad. They checked that the items I bought qualified but their system for did not ring up the discount. Spoke to the store director Alberto who flat out told me there's nothing they can do and would not override or honor the discounts from the ad. Alberto had a frustrated and poor attitude as well. They had one cashier working while 2 managers and another cashier stood at the customer service desk talking. Tonight I was standing in the Express Lane with another customer. A bagger came up and said we had to stand in one line. If they were going to have one line why did they not have the register blocked off so customers would know. This Vons is really nice! There's ample parking as it shares a lot with a bunch of other stores. I've never had an issue getting in and out. In addition, its conveniently located by the entrance to the 405 and basically in the middle of a bunch of cities (Lawndale, Hawthorne, Redondo Beach, etc.) There's a Starbucks right when you walk in and a pharmacy in the back. There's also a bakery, hot food bar, and fresh meat station as well. Everything is generally very organized and fully stocked with an assortment of options of all different kinds of foods. The prices aren't super cheap unless there's a sale, but it's definitely not expensive by any means. For example, I always come for ice cream and there's an entire aisle filled with different kinds of ice cream at different prices. Dreyers for $2.50 a tub? They got you! Ben and Jeffry's on sale for $3 a pint? They got plenty! McConnell's???? THEY EVEN HAVE THAT TOO (I'm honestly obsessed)!!! Also, the lines are never too bad in my experience and the cashiers are always pretty friendly. They're also pretty funny if you have a conversation with them. Will def still be coming back (especially for the ice cream). read more

I was super annoyed dealing with a return at this location, to be told one thing at a different store, then to be told another at this store was frustrating as it was. ALBERTO, the 'supervisor' was extremely rude and unprofessional and is clueless when it comes to basic customer service skills and not to mention basic communication skills. He got flustered and stuttered over himself as he tried to explain the 3 different excuses he came up with as to why I could not return some items.He Initially stated that due to the fact that I bought these items at a different store, he then mentioned due to the amount of the return he would not be able to return the items, he lastly mentioned due to the nature of the item he would not be able to return it. Not to mention that he thought it was a good idea to say they are not allowed to return literature, then think it was funny to define what literature meant in a snarky manner, as though I don't speak English. Regardless of the situation, there is a rhyme and reason when it comes to dealing with customers, ALBERTO unfortunately exemplifies the the exact opposite of how people should be treated and talked to when they are customers in the establishment that he works in. Working in customer service myself, it's unfortunate to have to deal with someone who should be working behind a computer screen and not dealing with customers, he clearly did not want to be there, maybe it was late, maybe it was the end of his shift, regardless it's irrelevant to me. I will still shop here as my experiences are usually great, but this one star review is for a HORRIBLE experience with an employee who has been employed here 25+ years. Will avoid working with this gentleman from here on out, also will be calling corporate to file corporate complaint and try to have someone actually explain the reason as to why I cannot return these items and hopefully see it in person, even though according to Alberto, they don't have to have anything in writing, and when I pointed out the return policy posted right in front of him, he mentioned that did not matter, that the policy was the policy. read more

This is my alternate store to the god awful one in Inglewood. Ive been coming to this location for years. I find it nice and clean. They always have good stock on sale items. If they dont, i can easily get rain check. Most of the cashiers here are very nice. Especially Lizbeth. Her name was on my receipt for today. She went the extra mile and was very nice, courteous, and professional. Parking lot always have decent parking despite sharing lot with several businesses. I usually come here when im disappointed that my local vons location doesnt have what is clearly advertised in their papers. Cant get rain checks at that location because they do not even stock such items. So i come here to get everything thats not there. If I were local, this would be my main store. read more

This Vons is honestly the worse markets I've gone to and should have an 'f' rating for their produce alone! They are VERY over priced and I've had to return produce multiple times for being bad. This includes broccoli, avocados, and countless other items. Literally an organic sweet potato snapped in half as I was peeling it and was mushy all on inside. Unfortunately I live not too far from it and they are one of the only markets in my immediate area to carry my daughters milk so I often go here in a pinch. Their price mark up is insane. Sunflower butter is $8.99 but right down the street Walmart carries is for $5.99. Insane! Work staff is nice but doesn't make up for the highway robbery on prices and Unhealthy produce. read more

This is my usual Vons of choice due to its proximity to my home. There's nothing special about it other than the customer service. The cashiers and employees are always friendly. What I do love is that they always offer to help you take your groceries to your car. I think that is a nice gesture. The deli and bakery sections are blah. I have seen better choices at other Vons locations. The florist section is very small, but that is okay considering that it is inside of a market. The produce section is also just okay...nothing special. There is a Starbucks in the store, however everytime that I have shopped here, I have never seen it open. Possibly bad timing? Overall, it's a decent market. There is no self-checkout. Parking is located in the front of the store in a shared lot. read more

The only reason this review isn't one star is that we use the pharmacy here, and we always get excellent service and advice from the kind and thoughtful staff. Normally this is a nice Vons to shop at--well stocked, with many products you don't see everywhere. But I was there most recently on 9 April 2020. I wore a mask and gloves, and I was pleased to see the sign at the door saying no entry without face covering. I was much less pleased that no one was enforcing the rule. Many shoppers were not masked, and seemed oblivious to social distancing. I was most alarmed to see that the people stocking the shelves wore neither masks nor gloves, and weren't making any effort to stay 6' from the customers or from each other. This is not acceptable, because it endangers both the staff and the customers. My family will shop elsewhere until Vons starts taking safety seriously. read more

This is the WORST delivery and WORST customer service I have ever experienced. I cannot figure out how to give ZERO stars. I wish I had checked here first or I would it have bothered I placed my first order Sat afternoon and couldn't schedule delivery until Sunday. I was just in hospital and couldn't make the 2.5 block drive myself. At the end of the delivery window Sunday they called to say they were having trouble with the truck and had to reschedule. So now it was coming Monday by 11. The driver called and wanted to come early, which was fine. But he didn't have any of the cold items. They had taken those out and forgot to put them back in the truck to the driver's surprise. He gave me the "customer service" number who apologized again and rescheduled for 4-8 the same day. Then they called again at the end of the time and apologized AGAIN and said they had to reschedule the rescheduled delivery of the cold more-than-half the order. I said it was terrible service and they needed to make it happen. Had to call back later and all they could do was reschedule for tomorrow from 11-1. This service is TERRIBLE!!!!! I come here only for starbucks and wine. The cashiers are friendly. The good news is that they also have a wells Fargo branch in store a huge plus for you multi taskers. The deli serves fresh sandwiches so stop in on your lunch break and the bakery has them fresh at 4pm. read more

This store is one of my favorites. Been coming here for years. It can get really crowded most mornings. I tend to shop late at night just before closing up as the whole store is empty at that point. The staff are all really friendly and services are great. The only downside to me shopping late is that the deli and meat departments close up so I have to try and go in earlier for those days.
