This is the worst vons I've ever been to. Do yourself a favor and go to the one in la Verne. Right before walking in the store there was a man (Daniel) with his face mask down which made me feel super uncomfortable and he didn't even greet me. On top of that the cashier (Stephanie) didn't greet me either and was super rude. she had an attitude the whole time. I won't be coming back until they learn some manners. read more

Hate their dependence on technology to get deals. Tried to set up. Several hoops to jump through. Meh service. Manager wouldn't help me set it up. Manager allowed us to get 2 1 household deals (1 for me and 1 for my wife's family) using 2 different "just for u" accounts. HE told cashier, Marie M. She still gave us problems. ‼‼ Beware of buying gift cards here!!! They have some fraudulent activity going on because my mom spent $600 dollars on gift cards that didn't end up working and the cards didn't have any money! The cashier was acting very suspicious and went to a different register while processing the gift cards. Vons is on the expensive side but it's the closest supermarket to my parents house. Sign up for the Vons card to save money. I only go to this store for basics and necessities like beer, soups, chicken tenders and fries in the deli, and bread. The workers are friendly and they usually say hi to the regulars and they know them by name. They have a good beer selection here. read more

Do NOT use their bakery if you need a cake by a specific date. I went in two weeks before I needed a cake for a birthday party, was told that was plenty of time and that I would be provided with an email address via a phone call to submit the picture I wanted put on the icing. Fast forward to three DAYS before I need the cake, not only was the person on the phone (Victoria?) extremely rude but when I described the image I needed I was only then told that they wouldn't be able to make it due to a copyright issue, when it had already been shown/approved weeks earlier in store when I ordered it. I never leave negative reviews but I'm seriously screwed now because of their employees and failure to communicate. read more

I never thought I would ever write a review on a grocery store but this Vons has been the most pleasurable shopping experience I've ever had since I've moved to the area. I'm so sad to say that I will be moving away soon, but I will never forget the employees here that have always brought a smile to my day, no matter what time it was. I come here often, if not almost every other day because I live right up the street, and everyone knows me here. Right when I first moved to the area a few months every single employee actually the took the time to get to know me and engage in conversation with me and really made me feel welcome. This Vons is unlike any other and I will miss the friendly faces I'm so used to seeing so often. We have been shopping at this Vons for over 20 years. They know your name, order foods you ask for, and are always friendly.

This Vons is right down the street from my house, which makes it super convenient; but that's about all that's good about this Vons. Their produce is absolutely despicable. If I buy lettuce, it wilts within a day. The produce is not fresh, and doesn't even look worth buying to begin with. I was there today to buy some last minute Mother's Day items and every single one of the onions looked like it had been dropped multiple times. I bought flowers that looked decent enough for grocery store quality, but when I got them home and unwrapped them, every single leaf was slimy and black. I ended up having to throw most of them away and had to buy flowers somewhere else; I would have been too embarrassed to give my mother and mother in law the flowers they were so bad. It also seems like the people stocking items are more concerned with throwing the stuff on the shelves than letting customers shop. Multiple times I've been looking for an item that they are stocking and when I ask if I could get them item, they act like it's the biggest inconvenience in the world. On a separate occasion, one of them was even sitting in a chair in the middle of the aisle stocking items, and when I asked to get by, he acted like I was asking him to move a mountain. I've also bought a couple of the terrarium's with succulents and air plants, and when I go to check out, the cashier always tips them on their side, dislodging the sand and pebbles and even spilling some of them out. The tag is right on the side on a string. There is no reason it needs to be tipped. The cashiers need to learn to be more careful with things like that. Overall this Vons is extremely disappointing with the quality of their products and their personnel. If it wasn't so close to my house I would never go. I just know I have to visit another grocery store if i want edible produce or anything that would require some level of care when checking out. read more

Not my usual Vons, but I stopped by on my way to work. It is beautiful on the inside. I didn't like when the sales clerk as the lady in front of me if she had made a donation to prostrate cancer. When the lady said she did the clerk questioned her as to when and where... They need to retrain and accept that maybe some people lie about it and don't harass them ! read more

Wanted to buy some fresh pork chops. But the meat shelves were bare on a Thursday with not much selection. I was disappointed. Whatever was there, was there. Some of the meat looked old. So I had to drive to Albertson's where there were a lot of FRESH selections. read more

I grew up going to this mini Vons. It's not the biggest or the best, but I'm sure glad it's been in the hood all these years. If it weren't for this store, we would have to drive 6 miles or more to get to a store rather than 1/2 a mile from our house to get to this one. When I was young, I used to be able to walk to it. The employees are all quite friendly and they've known us by name for many years. Some people might not like some new Vons program or whatever, but to trash this little local Vons for corporate decisions just isn't fair to their hard-working staff. My goodness, it's the only store that's survived from way back when - except for the donut shop. I've always been happy with the fresh bakery items, and the hot section with chicken, soup, and the sandwiches. Seriously, their sandwiches are just as good as Subway. read more

Just want to update my past review, especially in regards to the male employees I have encountered here who have seemed reluctant to be helpful when I do an exchange. There has been impressive improvement recently with specific employees in question, and I'm thankful for that and I just want to say that the cashiers here are very personable when they get to know you as a local resident, I am grateful for the array of vegan options they have from ice cream to cookies cheese and almond milk cashew milk you get the picture. Parking is absolutely abundant and lots of shade for the sunny days. Just seriously seriously seriously wish their bakery had vegan desserts in the open fridge section. Like any grocery store, certain produce is pretty good and others are OK, but usually have an abundance of bananas which I love and great cantaloupe and watermelon offerings. What this Vons desperately needs if you wish to compete with the new trendy chains opening up everywhere like Whole Foods and sprouts, is to offer a eat in option at this location, I think they can cut their floral department half in size and put some tables there and chairs. read more

I absolutely love this Von's. So many times you walk into a grocery store and it's overwhelmingly huge. This Von's is the perfect size and it's always easy to locate an employee. Because it's a neighborhood Von's the lines are rarely long and it's easy to run in and out to pick up supplies. Did I mention their produce is awesome? Everything is fresh here and there's always some sort of sale going on. It's worth checking out if you live or are in the area. read more

Great store, fun staff, but the frozen department is a disappointment! There used to be a kick ass worker named Ted who used to manage that section. He always kept everything in order & tip-top shape. Whenever something was out of stock at a different Vons store, you could count on Ted to have it on the shelf at Store 2125. The Von Store in San Dimas is so essential to our Community and yet It has continued to have dissatisfactory service it begins with the Manager he has been unprofessional on so many levels. I frequent this store 2-3 times a week and over the past 2 years and it saddens me to see how this store continues to lose its customer service to the people who shop there. It doesn't look as tidy as it should the staff are not that helpful especially the Deli service attendants they live in their own world talking to much and not tending to customer need. I love this location I was hoping they would extend it due to all the vacancies and build out a better shopping Store. Last week the Hot Chicken station and heating system broke down and stayed down last night the bakery ovens went out what's happening? As far as the attendants they were even less helpful.
