The inside was pretty empty on a weekend evening which scared me a little bit but then I saw ppl on their outside patio. The young lady at the bar was nice and gave us time to look. We decided on a cocktail and a beer. Both were super good! We would have ordered another round if we didn't have plans that evening. She even put in our food to be split on the plates as hubs and I just wanted something to snack on during our visit. The space was super cute and the asking distance from our hotel. They allow kids and even had board games and ample TVs for entertainment. The servers/bartenders were great! We were not a fan of the food. I ordered the pickle pizza and it was oil and a little soggy. My husband ordered the chicken tikka san which and the chicken was dry and maybe overcooked with just a splash of tikka masala sauce on it. The beers were okay. Parking was free and easy nearby on the street as there were no events (or games) in the area. Voodoo Brewing is generally self serve, as you sit where you want and order (and pay) via QR Code link to a website. The staff brings you the food and drink after you have ordered them. They have a good assortment of beer...something for everyone. The beer was fresh and reasonably-priced. There were also some good food options....I was pleasantly surprised with the smoked wings. I like Voodoo as a pre-game spot, it seems to be one of the last ones to fill up. It's all open seating indoors and out and you order via QR code at your table. We were able to grab a couple seats at the bar most recently and the service was pretty good despite how busy it got. The cheesesteak is delicious!!! We didn't love the buffalo chicken dip, it probably would have been better with shredded chicken instead of huge chunks of chicken. They have good beer selection as well as a house cocktail menu. A group of us visited this location for trivia Tuesday. We showed up about an hour to trivia and were easily able to grab a table that fit 6 of us. The bartenders were attentive and friendly, even though you order through QR code at the table. They continued to bring us full pitchers of water and clearing our plates as we went. We ordered a good selection of the menu including tacos (2/$8 on Tuesday), the pub pretzel, loaded fries, pork nachos, quinoa salad, boneless wings, and probably more I'm forgetting. I have visited here previously, probably 3 years ago now, and I feel like this visit was significantly better/more enjoyable. The food and trivia really made for a better experience. I love the green sour, the lakto cooler, and it lived up to the hype this time too. The pub pretzel was huge, hot, and soft. Loved the beer cheese that came with it. If I could go back in time, I'd order two of the pork taco and pass on the chicken. First, what a great surprise! We found a table outside overlooking the riverwalk and it was awesome. Nice breeze too! All tables had a QR code to order your own food and drinks, which were fairly promptly delivered to your table. Help yourself to water which was available to pour yourself. The drinks were AMAZING!! We were here on Taylor Swift weekend so spirits were high and we were very excited. We came here before the show for a drink and a bite to eat as they were having a Taylor Swift event and celebration. They had a TS themed menu, her music was play outside, live band playing her music on the inside, local radio was there, the list goes on. It was a very fun time!!!! We expected really slow service with everything going on, but it wasn't slower or faster than normal, which was a big plus! All of our cocktails were TS themed - "lavender haze cocktail" etc. We all go different ones and they were all delicious. I ordered the Spicy Salmon bowl and it was filled with a lot of flavor, I loved it!! The only bad thing about it was that it was a TINY bowl for $16 I expected something a little bigger. I was still very hungry after it so I ordered fries and ate all of them myself. My friends split a pretzel, fries, and wings and they all really enjoyed their meals as well. While we were there, we realized that there was also a Voodoo brewery in Cleveland - we had no idea and plan on visiting their other location when we are back home! read more

I really am not a fan of not having a server for the table to take orders and check up on the table. if you needed to ask for something extra (ketchup, etc) then it was pretty impossible. You order through their QR code (ToastTab) which was pretty efficient though. Drinks came out very quickly after placing. Bacon blue burger 8/10 No option for a cook on the patty. It came out between med/med-rare though, tiny pink. Might also have been a frozen patty, not sure. All of the toppings come on the side (lettuce, tomato, onion). Pickles are amazing. Homemade I think. Tons of blue cheese on here, wish they were a tiny bit melted. Some parts of the bacon was a bit to hard. But mostly not bad. I was nervous I wouldn't like the bun, they didn't have a regular bun, but it actually was just fine! Chips 10/10 Really good. They're seasoned pretty well, almost tastes like there's a tiny bit of sugar on them with the salt. Big easy cheesy 9/10 It's like a cheesy garlic bread I think. Not really a pizza, besides the shape. Good flavors though! Reminds me of white pizza minus the onion and tomato (which would be great on here also!) Voodoo is a consistently good choice. They're one of the only spots with a nice view of the river and plenty of outdoor/indoor seating. You can walk up to the bar for service but they also utilize a QR code system at the tables. I like being able to keep a running tab on my phone and the drinks and food get delivered to the table pretty quickly. They have some great beers and a good variety of styles. There are also gluten free options and cocktails. We most recently tried the newish wing night special--boneless wings for $0.50 each! Each order of 6 wings was just $3 but you can order a pretty high number of wings at once if you want to. They were really good. We also split some truffle fries. We love Voodoo Brewery so we decided to check out the North Shore location before the steeler game. The food here is delicious. I had the brisket and Mac and cheese. It was made perfectly. For hours before game time, it was pleasantly chill, with regular restaurant noise, but not too loud that you couldn't talk to the people at your table. The only thing we didn't care for was that everything was ordered through your qr code on your table. When we would order our beers, it would take 10-15 minutes to get the drinks. We didn't know where to get waters either. The servers never really talked to you. They worked more as bussers. It makes it very hard to find a reason to tip 20% when they aren't really interacting with the tables. read more

I had an AWESOME time here for my birthday!! I was here for the Taylor Swift concert, and I knew it would be packed. By some miracle, my husband found two seats at the bar. Great first meal for us in Pittsburgh! We tried the caprese pizza and the voodoo island cocktail. The restaurant was pretty empty when we went, around 1:30pm on July 4. We were glad they were open on the holiday. The pizza was delicious and we were stuffed with just that. I went back and forth on how many stars to give them since there are several positive and negatives. We began going to this Voodoo location because it is where they now do BRC bottle pickups. It isn't as convenient for us and parking can be dicey depending on when you go, which is typical for the North Shore. This review is based only on service and beer as we have not ordered food. You either order at the bar (though good luck getting someone to actually pay attention) or you use a QR code and order at your table. Some places are going to this type of system, which I get but it isn't perfect. When you go in to pick up bottles obviously you have to get a bartender's attention for this. We have gone for some drafts because they have been putting Barrel Room Collection beers on draft, which is great. They haven't typically been showing on the online ordering system (or even the draft board above the bar) so you have to ask and they go quick. We did have an issue with the one BRC draft we had though. The flavor was okay but it looked cloudy and the consistency seemed off. We later saw pictures of the same beer at other locations and it looked completely different. I'm not sure if there was an issue with the line or what. However the other few BRC drafts we have gone in for have been excellent. We will continue to go and pick up bottles and have some drafts. Maybe get something to eat sometime. There will have to be something to draw us in though. read more

Been to Voodoo Brewing a few times and this is one of the places I really like coming to. Great ambiance and vibes. Self seating and each table has a QR code to order food and drinks. The Mac and cheese, pretzel with beer cheese, and flatbreads are delicious. I got the tropical cherry mule which was very good. Usually service is great, but most recently, we went on a Saturday and there was a Pirates game so the kitchen and bar were VERY backed up and it took 30+ minutes to get our food and drinks. When asked why it was taking so long, I was told that the restaurant didn't anticipate this many people the night of a game. This was disappointing considering service is typically very fast, but Matt at the kitchen made sure that we got our order ASAP so I really appreciated that. We visited this location after a city of bridges group run. I had never tried any voodoo location before so was excited to come here. It was relatively quiet on a Wednesday which was wonderful because service was amazing and good, fast food! Bar staff and servers were so helpful and there were tons of unique drink choices. I tried the sour (lacto) and it really good, not too sour or sweet and reminiscent of a green apple cider. Everyone thought their food was excellent, and I really liked mine, it was a crispy chicken sandwich with tikka sauce and crispy coleslaw. Ambiance was also good and calm, no issues of noise or anything. Tuesdays are apparently trivia which is refreshing since a lot of places seem to go Wednesdays. Welcome to the North Shore, Voodoo! Love the outdoor seating but the indoor space is kind of awkward. Mostly bar seating on open metal barstools at shipping pallet tables. The menu and ordering are through a QR code unless you are at the bar. I can get past this at this particular location as they have to be prepared for large crowds. However, I find this system to be frustrating when the business is not busy. I love the breadth of the beer and drink menu. Their flagship beers are fantastic and the triple is always a winner. Voodoo is one of my favorite breweries In Pennsylvania. I was excited when they opened a location on the North Shore in Pittsburgh, but after my first experience I think they need to up their game. Their beer is fantastic. No complaints there. What I was disappointed by was their limited vegan options and their subpar restroom experience. I got the pretzel and, feeling optimistic, got the usual sauces which included a house made whole grain honey mustard and a beer cheese sauce and house made honey mustard. The pretzel was soooo tasty, but both sauces were meh. The beer cheese sauce was gritty in consistency--says the mostly-vegan! I have had a lot of gritty vegan cheese substitutes and was surprised to get that from the real deal. I quickly saved the sauce situation by asking for good old yellow mustard. Yum. As for the bathroom, even in the day of gender neutral bathrooms I was struck by the smell of urinal puck when I walked in and had to do a double take to figure out that the source of the smell was an air freshener. The smell was accompanied by a hearty coating of toilet paper fragments and last night's ticket stubs on the floor. If you're in the mood for a fantastic beer, this is your place. Yesterday, during a rainstorm before the july 4 fireworks, the staff locked the doors and their customers were locked inside. This is a breach of fire code and common sense. They also decided not to allow their own patrons who were seated outside into the building , even though there were plenty of seats inside. the place itself is a dive. This was my first time visiting Voodoo Brewing. Overall, greta experience. We didn't order any food but we enjoyed some beers and loved that they had some board games. Our group planned games, had some beers, and enjoyed our evening. The location is great in Northshore close to other restaurants and close to the river. Although raining while there, the fire pit area looked nice. The staff was incredible friendly and even trying to help break ties for the game we planned.
