The red pepper sauce was creamy and decently flavored. By the time you work your way to the end of the sandwich, we're talking 3 - 4 inches of crusty bread and sauce left over, but still yum. Don't think there were any napkins available at the truck which would help a bit. For a first visit I was definitely impressed, I'll have to work my way through the rest of their baguette specials, six in total. Baguettaboutit puts out a solid sandwich that's perfectly portable and better than what you'd get from a Subway or Quizno, 3.5 stars. So I'm really looking forward to my next visit, if I can just only shake that image of my dog out of my head. This review is NOT for storefront location but for the EZCater who preps and delivers the food. I decided to use V's Kitchen for a birthday party. Was extremely frustrated when I had to repeatedly call this establishment, and no one picked up the phone. After a few rounds of this, I decided to drive on site. When I arrived, I was told the manager was not available as I wanted to order fried fish, that was not on the EZCater menu. Eventually, I did speak with manager who called the owner to inquire if they will cater fried fish. Upon receiving the ok from the owner, at this point, I noted the price/up charge for fired fish in my birthday details booklet. I later returned onsite to get additional information about EZcater such as they would supply eating utensils, food distribution utensils, setup disposable food trays, and light heating elements. I came back another time to place catering order. Keep in mind the store manager never comes into work at the same time and thus I had to constantly call, hope someone answers, and see if/when the whereabouts of the store manager. I started placing the order and the manger mentioned the price of the fried fish as $0.50 higher than the price SHE GOT FROM THE OWNER. I questioned this price and should in my detailed birthday book that price given by owner for the fried fish. She eventually gave me this price after seeing the disgusted look on my face. Order placed. Day before party, I called V's Kitchen to confirm my order and delivery. I confirmed the caterer would be setup up on table, lighting heating elements, and supply food distribution utensils. I was told this would be taken care of. Day of the surprise birthday party, I was notified that EZcater simply dropped off the food at the facility loading dock and left. NO SETUP, NO LIGHTING OF HEATING ELEMENT, NO FOOD DISTRIBUTION UTENSILS. This complete lack of service has a left a bad taste in my mouth and I am writing this review to warn anyone seriously considering catering V's Kitchen food. Food was good but the competence of the store manager was very poor. Adding the following to the above in response to owner and manager below: My birthday party was on June 7th. I called V's Kitchen on June 6th. I told the person answering the phone my name and catering date. Once again, I wanted to confirm the following would be provided by EZcater: Catering delivery date Caterer food setup Caterer Lighting heating elements Caterer supplying food treys distribution utensils I emphasized that I need a flawless execution upon which the V's Kitchen staff acknowledge the items above and stressed that they got it all taken care of. I also ordered a side of yams. The Turkey Wing was tender and flavorful. The green beans (from a can, I believe) were cooked in a broth of some kind and well seasoned. Mac and cheese buttery and loaded with a mild cheese(s). The stuffed chicken is a very large breast stuff with a more complex cheese mixture similar to perhaps an artichoke dip. Yams thick not watery and well seasoned. Very, very, very good! Fun fact: I used to really be out here ordering from these Instagram chefs and Kales Kitchen was one of them. I think it was a 10 meal prep for less than $100.00. We had a quality issue and she was quick to respond and resolve and I love to see the growth. With that being said, you will have to be flexible. I was also told the menu changes daily... whenever I'm on this side of town maybe I'll give them a try but I won't go out of my way to visit a place that says download Instagram to see if they're open/what they have for the day. You're a restaurant with a website wasting a domain ... at least ATTEMPT to keep that accurate! Also, to clarify: If you check sanitation scores like I do - they used to be listed as KALE'S KITCHEN but are now listed as KALES AT JOE'S DINER. They do have a good grade though!! Just something to be aware of if you check places frequently like I do.
