Okay, so we were staying in Dillon for a weekend getaway and made reservations here for dinner on Saturday night. We were worried about the uneven reviews this place is getting and even more worried about the fact this was a hotel restaurant. But we swallowed our concerns and decided to give it a shot. We show up at the hotel and our first problem: no parking. There are surprisingly few spots at the hotel at all, and I wonder what people do for parking here when the season is really in swing. After we found a spot on the road, we walked in through the lobby only to see a hastily written sign announcing that "Vue is closed for a special event". That's it. Nothing to acknowledge that people might have reservations there. We asked about it at hotel reception and were told it had been a sudden change that just happened, but sorry, them's the breaks. No more dinners tonight. And that was it! Zero was offered in terms of making it up to us, not even a "we sincerely apologize and hope you can come back tomorrow/later". Outside we saw a single man on the roof in a suit taking a photo of the view from Vue. LOL read more

Oh what a great view of Lake Dillon & surrounding mountains. The rooftop deck is the perfect spot to watch the sunset. It was vibrant and full of happy people. We easily found seats next to the fireplace, so cozy. Met some really friendly people around the fire. We were well informed that we cannot order food if we sit at the sofa. Great we wanted drinks so it's perfect. Our seat mates informed us that the wait for service was very long. Ok we can wait, and wait and wait. But we couldn't get served...at the sofa or at the bar. There was only 1 lead bartender & she was busy. I made another attempt at the bar after a second protracted wait. I asked for 2 beers on tap or bottle or cans. Was told that only the bartender can take the order. I waited until she finally made eye contact with me & politely asked for 2 beers. She told the guy behind the bar to pour them for us and that's how we finally got our drinks. Love the view, the vibes and really want to try the food but maybe wait until they are more operational. read more

We were very excited to hear the hotel had a rooftop bar. We were thinking it sounded like a hip little place to hang after a long day of sightseeing. We could not have been more wrong. It was a very odd experience that I'll do my best to describe. We arrived without reservations and told the hostess we just wanted to have a few drinks. They sat us at a table as their was no room at the bar. The interior was well designed . Other than the look of the place, that's where "hip rooftop bar" ends. The staff looked miserable. Nobody was personable or helpful. I don't recall hearing and background music either. Maybe it was just noisy and I didn't notice it. It was late with thunderstorms, so the garage doors were closed. However, watching the lightening was amazing. (The view is the only reason this review got two instead of one star.) The drink menu did not contain any of the interesting cocktails listed on the website. We sat there for 20 minutes before our server arrived. She did not bring water and was not friendly at all. We asked about the mixed drinks and she was not the least bit helpful. She showed us the tablet that the severs use to place orders and instructed us to select what we wanted. That was confusing and a bit stressful. I hoped I was selecting the drink I vaguely remember reading on the drink menu earlier in the day. The server's lack of assistance and emotion was almost robotic-like. About 15 minutes later the drinks arrive, but we had to ask for water. The drinks were good but definitely sounded better on the menu. Nobody ever checked back to see how the drinks were, if we wanted anything else, or to refill the water. We had to ask the manager for our bill after 15 minutes of not seeing our server. Very disappointing. read more

My daughter says five! We had the steak and wild game chili and found both delicious. The old fashion I had was great and the mixed experiment of a drink the waitress/bar tender wanted to try and serve was interesting and it was fun she took the initiative to try. I would recommend as a nice casual place for dinner especially if you're staying at the hotel little pricey but felt like it was worth it tonight. read more

While the food is delicious for a one off meal I do not recommend the Vue for your event. I emailed on May 31st for a quote for a small elopement reception. In the last two months I have emailed once a week and called repeatedly and still have not received a quote. I know that this isn't only my experience as I was accidentally cc'ed on an email from another bride that has already booked and that email exchange was also incredibly frustrating and that bride was also being ignored. Their tagline is "it's all about the vue" and it is. The view is fantastic, and the only thing I can recommend about this restaurant unfortunately. The manager was rude when we walked in. We tried to order, they were out of three of the things we tried to order. Then our food came before our drinks, a glass of wine and a mojito so nothing crazy. The food was fine. Nothing on the menu really stood out to me and what we did end up getting was okay. We ordered the crème brûlée, the description said it came with honeycomb, but there was none to be found. We asked for the honeycomb and amazingly-they weren't out and they brought us some! Pretty crazy that they actually had the ingredient and just didn't include it. Our server did the best she could we what she had so no fault there. Overall, maybe come for a glass of wine and the view. There are far better restaurants worth your time. read more

We are staying at the Homewood Suites and read the not-so-good reviews but decided to go anyway after a day of skiing. Are we glad we did! Ashley is the new bartender/manager(?) and she is amazing. Great wine and cocktails. There is also a new chef. We have gone twice and loved the "starters"--shareable dishes that are so good. The lamb ribs, the fried ravioli, the fresh spring rolls are all great! We saw some other dinner entrees and they looked amazing. The view of the mountains is wonderful as is the service. On Tuesday night they have live music. The lighting was a little harsh and we asked Ashley if she could dim them and she did. It is amazing what a dimmer does for ambience. The entry to the restaurant could be improved...the doors are open and you are looking out on a brightly lit hotel hallway. Check it out! read more

I wish I could give this a better review. Everything was actually really good: the service from the bartender who waited on us at our table, the food was really good, but the manager was a complete jerk. We made a reservation for 8:00 and he was so annoyed with us that we couldn't decide on whether we wanted to eat outside or not. He lied and said the heaters outside would not be on because it was summer (they conveniently were turned on later), he made us feel so bad about asking to move inside, I watched him talk about us to his servers, etc. They weren't that busy that late at night. It's a shame, this place has potential, an incredible view and good food. Obviously he had a bad day but should be better at customer service if he's the manager. He has a lot to learn and believe me I know as I'm in customer service myself. read more

WORST OVERPRICED FOOD I've ever had. AND they charged me more than the bill I signed for!! My sweet husband took me here for valentine's (what a mistake but at least he tried) - The Vue had a prefix menu that night which sounded decent on paper but everything tasted like it had been sitting out and then warmed up again in the microwave. For the appetizers, the baked oysters were overly breadcrumbed and cold, and the oysters so small you could barely taste it. The stuffed peppers were rock hard and covered in chocolate sauce. For the entree I ordered a salmon which was dry. My husband ordered the tenderloin which came with a side of mushrooms that tasted like it had been drenched in salt. The only good thing were the side of grilled carrots it seems. Then dessert- s'mores that were dry graham crackers overloaded with stale whipped cream - like a child put it together. That and lava cake both came out on PAPER plates and cutlery- like they ran out of proper flatware and we were at a backyard party! The whole menu was overpriced and to top it off, I looked at my credit card statement a few days later and they had charged me more than the bill and gratuity I had signed for! OUTRAGEOUS!!! Do yourself and your wallet a favour and never come here. read more

First time here and YUM ! The Vue is beautiful even from inside . The food...got the Dry aged Vue burger...the combination is stellar add the ketchup in or not and it works ! The Lamb riblets & sauce are wonderful! My hubby super picky and likes simple plain food enjoyed all of it and asked for additional huckleberry sauce. I can't speak much to the food. My wife and I just went up there to have desert and watch the sun set. The view was amazing. Definitely worth the visit. My wife ordered the s'more pie and I had the crème brûlée. The pie was rich, but good. The creme brûlée was ok, but the sugar wasn't melted on top, so it was just a layer of granulated sugar... read more

Our group had a reservation made days in advance. Confirmed it. Then the night before they canceled the reservation because "there is going to be a private event". Ummm. What? What's the point of making a reservation if you're just going to cancel on potential customers. Sad thing is we all live here full time too, so guess who'll never be coming in to check out Vue. The food, view, and wait staff were awesome, but the way we were received and talked to by the manager was despicable. Having worked many years in hospitality and then business and the travel industry, I was appalled. We even had to ask if he was a host or the manager because he didn't act like the rest of the staff. He was sharp, condescending and unaccommodating . The only other draw back was they were out of many of the beers and more than half the desserts. But everything we had was wonderful. read more

This place was actually one of the worst restaurants i've ever been to. The drinks were horrible, bartender couldn't even make a cosmo correctly. They only had a snack menu that was extremely over priced for a portion that wouldn't even feed a mouse. Nachos were cold and soggy with one literal strip of chicken on them. The coconut shrimp had no flavor. Literally nothing about here was good. Our bill was $77 for literally the worst experience of my life. So i would suggest you not waste your time and money on this place. read more

I'm a local and I was excited to bring a friend for the first time to the rooftop. The views are amazing and pretty much unbeatable. Drinks were good but the food was not. The food was priced on the higher end but both of our meals tasted like a poor frozen dinner. We noticed several of the bus girls on their phones while working on the floor. One girl was bussing while drinking from a glass. My hope is that this isn't going to be a missed opportunity for this to be a great place. The food and the service as it is currently will be the death of this rooftop restaurant. I would come back for the view and give the food one more chance before I completely write this place off and not recommend it to friends or clients. read more

First and foremost, the view is amazing. The layout is also very nice. However, the service is very poor. Waitresses were taking shots behind the bar and having a very good time of their own but were not particularly concerned about doing a lot of waiting. There was also live music. But for the time of day (7-8p) the amp was far too loud and he continued playing for an hour and a half after he was supposed to stop. The food was quite simply terrible. No doubt the view is amazing and the deck and restaurant are beautiful. You'll want to get there during the daylight to see it. But everything else is mediocre. The food, service, even the drinks were sub par. They just opened so I'm hoping they will work out the kinks but I wouldn't go back unless something changed. read more

Let's just say you can't trust photos you see on the internet. I ordered the salmon with a house salad, which tasted fine but looked like I pulled it out of my freezer.
