I purchased a 2017 Subaru Outback on October 10, 2025 On November 28, 2025 my vehicle left me stranded in SF. Transmission issue. Car would not go into another gear. Had it towed to my house. I could not afford to have it fixed Been making payments on it. I wrote the Dealership a letter hoping to negotiate something. Also front end had been in an accident as I overlooked a Phillips head screw holding the fender to the body on the drivers side. Passengers side is uneven which suggests it had been in an accident. When signing paperwork their Car Fax indicated no issues. I had to take it to Les Schwab for front end alignment. We bought a 2nd hand 2021 VW Atlas from another dealership 6-7 months ago and purchased two 3rd party warranty services (Forever Start & Safe Drive). The car ended up having a small engine leak, bad battery, and had a stretched out hood cable which is a common enough problem on the VW Atlas...same with batteries going bad every 2ish years. Not as upset with that, more so with the lack of service we got from the VW service department. We took our car into get serviced on July 2nd and spoke to a customer service rep (name left out of review as to not make it personal). The dealership was quick to give us a repair diagnostics and what needed to be replaced, but "the brakes" were hit on the repairs once we mentioned we had a 3rd party warranty service that covered the dead battery/engine leak. We gave the info to the customer service rep on thursday morning, called back in the afternoon to see if they have initiated a claim and our check in call was received with an attitude basically wondering why we called to check in, that it's out of their hands, that they called the warranty service and the VW rep will be reaching out to us with a status update. I was reassured that the claim was initiated, that dealing with 3rd party warranty services sometimes take several days as they have to approve the work being done. fine. Check back in on Friday, same story with a different rep. Check back in Sunday, same story. After 2 similar phone calls this morning, I ended up calling the 3rd party warranty company, and was shocked to find out that VW of Fairfield had not even called them yet, even though they reassured me several times they that they did (including with attitude on thursday). I called VW of Fairfield back, gave them the number they are supposed to call from Safe-Drive and Forever Start, and they are calling now to try and see if they can reach them to initiate the claim (may be too late in the day due to east coast time). It's been over 5 days and my car is still in the shop all because VW did not initiate the claim after having the diagnostics info of what needs to be fixed thursday. I then get text messages from their service department saying they are taking the car out of the shop until they hear from the warranty department. The most frustrating part of this is my newborn twins and wife depend on the use of our car daily for their care, and after 5 days in the shop I can't get a VW warranty rep to call Forever Start and Safe-Drive back to initiate the claim. The worst part is, because it is a dead battery and the hood latch cable was stretched (can't open my hood without the repair work to the cable), I can't really even drive the car to another VW dealership to get the Atlas fixed.......As if the car turns off it won't turn back on again without a new battery, and I couldn't jump start it because I can't open the hood. I rarely go out of my way to review businesses (check my profile) but felt the need to let others know. Would love to talk to a manager and see if this is how folks typically get treated or if this was a one off. We love our car, just not loving the customer service treatment we are getting right now. Typical shady dealership tactics. I inquired about a 2017 Chevrolet Bolt they had listed for $9300. Salesman said it was going through inspection. Cool, no problem. The next day, price jumps to $10,600. Nothing changed except the fact that I had asked about the car. Was told by the salesman work was performed on the vehicle. I asked for an inspection report and what exactly was "worked on". Never received inspection report, never got an answer. Just sent me a video of the car which has paint fading on the hood. Photos in the listing shows almost every angle of the car except the faded hood and probably a faded roof. Told the salesman I would pass on the car unless they honored the original price of $9300. No big deal to me if they wouldn't budge. No response until I check in 2 days later and get this text response: "Last time we checked this vehicle still qualified for about $2754 in irs rebate. You had a chance to get it and you passed. Don't let this one go........." Completely out of left field, never asked anything about a $2754 irs rebate. Then I get this gem afterwards: "The prices for used cars will continue to rise as KBB increases the values due to tarrifs. Let me know if you want to get this one we'll be open tomorrow from 10-5pm. Good Night!". Didn't know the tariffs that just went into effect this week affected a used 2017 Chevrolet Bolt that was originally built in Michigan. Weird.... Anyway, don't bother with this shady dealership and their bait and switch pricing. read more

I finally found an online aftermarket company that sold my key fob with slug...! I went to a locksmith who cut the key but couldn't guarantee it would work... It didn't... Everywhere I checked that COULD program keys wanted to charge me to TRY and program it (no refund if it didn't work)...! I came in and spoke to Lisa in Service... Not only was she patient with my explanation of my situation, I felt like they valued me and my Jetta as a customer same as if I was here in a new ID.BUZZ...! I had a frustrating experience leasing a vehicle from Volkswagen of Fairfield. I was misled about the cost of optional protection packages and promised a full refund according to the contract if I canceled within the contract terms. Despite following all steps, and waiting 5 months I received a partial refund after months of being ignored and given the runaround. The original staff I worked with are no longer there, and the new team never responded to my final request. In addition to this I took my older VW in for service and they unethically recommended thousands of dollars worth of work that was not needed. They said I had an oil leak (despite not one drop of oil ever leaking visibly- yet they videoed dried up oil as their so called "proof" of an issue). When I took my car to another VW service dealership for a second opinion, I confirmed that my car was running perfectly. The oil they saw which was dried up was due to the oil change process. It was literally a drip left by the mechanic and they wanted to charge me thousands for no legitimate reason. They are either very bad at what they do or they are very unethical. This dealership lacks transparency and accountability. I would not recommend doing business here. When I'm ready to turn in my leased vehicle I will be taking it to another VW dealership. read more

1 Star - If I Could Give Zero, I Would Volkswagen of Fairfield, CA I brought my Certified Pre-Owned VW Atlas to Volkswagen of Fairfield with a check engine light on. From the very beginning, I was told by Corri that because it was CPO, my deductible would be $50. Simple enough--until it wasn't. A few hours after drop-off, I received the diagnostic video. They claimed there was "water on the parking lock solenoid" supposedly caused by outside influence, meaning it wouldn't be covered. The mechanic went on to say multiple major components would need to be removed to repair it. That was later proven completely false. Next, they told me I had condensation in my rear brake light and needed a full replacement--also not covered under warranty. Then they added a coolant leak with an estimate attached, though Corri wasn't sure if it "might" be covered. They even tried to sell me $400 windshield wiper blades. By the time they were done piling on charges, my total estimate was over $6,000. I tried calling multiple times to speak with a manager. Not one returned call. A full week later, still no response. And when it came time to release my car to a tow truck--my $50 deductible magically became $240. I took my vehicle to Vacaville Volkswagen instead. Every single repair was covered under my CPO warranty. The "$400" wiper blades? Vacaville replaced them for $79. The "outside influence" water damage? Not true. The "major disassembly" they claimed was needed? Not true. This dealership is beyond disappointing--it's dishonest. They lied about what was wrong with my car, refused to honor a CPO warranty, inflated labor that wasn't required, and doubled prices compared to another VW dealership 15 minutes away. I just started going to this VW Dealership. For all the maintenance and inspection service received since day one with Service Advisor / Erwin, ALL has been excellent experience. He was on top of the warranty coverage for my vehicle and he has made sure I am able to save anything out of pocket. So far he has saved me 100%. So, I am thankful. I also love the Lyft service to get dropped off or get picked up! How efficient! Also a plus, I receive a final service video by the technician shown after each service and everything is thoroughly explained what was performed on the vehicle. Brought vehicle in to your dealership for the first time a couple months ago for an oil change. Rather than driving from Fairfield all the way to Walnut Creek VW. A few months later the check oil level light turns on, I immediately park and turn off vehicle and I find Oil level on dipstick low - So I added oil and drove it back to dealership and service told me they would look at it and perform diagnostic at no charge. When I signed there was no charge for diagnostic. I did receive a video link showing the first diagnostic showing they could not identify the cause of oil consumption. After receiving the video I tried to call and text my service adviser. She responded via text she still didn't have info from the tech. I called again no response. Then I receive a second video of an additional diagnostic they ran without my approval. Identifying the cause. I returned the next day to pick up my car and they charged me $239 for the diagnostic. If a no charge diagnostic is going to turn into a charged diagnostic you are required to obtain my authorization prior to performing the additional diagnostic or work. You never called me back or obtained my approval for the second diagnostic. I brought the vehicle to you as you were the least dealership to perform service. Things can happen I get it. Normally a shop double checks and makes sure it wasn't something they did that caused the issue. That is all I asked for, and asked or expected for you to do. read more

It takes a lot for me to write a review this bad, and I gave VW of Fairfield a lot of chances to redeem themselves, so consider this before bringing your car here for service: I initially brought my car here for an oil change. Normally I bring it to my regular VW mechanic but he had trouble resetting the service light and we needed dealership software for that. Oil change was uneventful, outside of a recommendation t that I change my engine and cabin air filter. I thought this was a greedy upsell since I personally changed my cabin air filter five thousand miles ago so I knew it was fine. They also told me there was an oil leak coming from the cam cradle that should be addressed at some point. I kept hearing a rattling noise intermittently afterwards, and eventually found that my engine air filter didn't have the filter cover screwed on. Missed every single screw. I was able to get some of them back in place but it took a weird torx head driver. I called them to let them know the issue. No harm, no foul, but be careful because the next time a screw could fall loose and end up somewhere it shouldn't. They insisted on giving me a free oil change the next time I was due for one as an apology, and screw in the rest of the torx I couldn't reach. Sounds like they're doing the right thing, yeah? I took them up on this offer, and got my oil changed with them the next time. After driving away, something in my spidy senses told me to look under the hood. My engine air filter was disassembled AGAIN, including the screws I had put back in to fix their mistake the first time. Obviously I called and told them they messed up. And to be clear, I didn't go there to get my engine air filter changed, that's something they kept recommending as part of their inspection. At this point, I'm thinking screw this, I'm not going back. At my next service with my regular mechanic, I asked him about the cam cradle oil leak. What leak?! He brought me back in the shop to see for myself. That engine is dry as a convent. Clearly this dealership is trying to sell unnecessary services. Still, my attitude is let bygones be bygones, no need to write a review. Finally this weekend I checked my cabin air filter. The last time I saw it was over 20,000 miles ago, and I was the one that replaced it. But who knows, maybe they were telling the truth and it couldn't hurt to change? Not only was the filter fine, but whoever checked it at that dealership then put on the plastic cover wrong before shutting the glove box, breaking two of the tabs in the process. The only people to get behind the glovebox since I replaced the air filter myself were the techs at VW Fairfield. Look, the piece they broke is $45 to replace. Not the end of the world. But outside of recommending services that aren't needed--which we can all agree is wrong, the bare minimum a shop should do is not break stuff or leave components unassembled when the car was brought in with its parts intact. I honestly have no clue what to recommend for this shop to get better. They are either stoned, careless, or actively trying to sabotage my vehicle. The client advisor I worked with was friendly and made the day-of purchase process smooth and enjoyable. Unfortunately, everything after that has been a disaster. The dealership's administrative follow-through has been shockingly incompetent. The issues started when the payoff check for my trade-in was lost in transit, which created a cascade of problems. Because of their error, my mother and I were bombarded with calls and letters from my bank, accusing me of being delinquent on car payments for a vehicle I no longer owned. My credit score took a hit. Now, I continue to receive DMV notices stating the car I traded in is uninsured--clear signs that the paperwork was not handled correctly. Given how that was mishandled, I also have no confidence that the DMV paperwork for the vehicle I purchased was processed properly. I have spent months making countless calls to both VW Fairfield and the bank, doing the work that should have been their responsibility. Every step of the way, I had to follow up to ensure transactions were completed, rather than the dealership proactively resolving the issues they created. Nobody needs the stress and anxiety this has caused. While I had an excellent experience with the sales staff, the dealership's business operations have been nothing short of negligent. So then we tried the 2025 Tiguan and it was nice but a lot of features I didn't need. So he reviews the used car inventory as I wasn't necessarily needing brand new just newish and he got me a lovely 2023 Tiguan to try which is perfect and I am still over the moon for. He explained the features when asked, was very pleasant and even came through with a charger for my son's dead iPad. He and the finance manager Diego assisted me with getting financed with a decent payment and information about my old car I need to do. Once they have your money, you will be forgotten. I bought a used Ford Explorer from this dealership and was given false information or information was omitted during the sale: 1) I was told the vehicle had carplay. Looking at the small screen on the radio, I asked again to make sure and they confirmed. I also double-checked the advertisement for the car and it did list carplay as a vehicle feature. Turns out there was no carplay 2) I was told the vehicle supported FordPass and that this would allow me to set up alerts for vehicle location, maintenance requirements, etc. The vehicle does not support FordPass. 3) I was told after they accepted my check that there was only one FOB available for the car and they would send me a programmable one. I would have to pay for it to be programmed. Not only was having to pay for a second fob to be programmed very shady, but I never received it 4) While driving the vehicle home, I noticed the side passenger mirror could not be adjusted and was loose. Clearly a safety hazard. Further, on their '19-point' inspection, it specifies that the side view mirror was confirmed in working order. So much for my confidence in their inspection. 5) I bought an extended 'bumper-to-bumper' warranty and asked the following day whether it would cover fixing the mirror. After multiple daily follow ups with little to no response and having to escalate the issue to my salesman's manager, the manager told me my warranty was not yet in effect and that I would have to bring the car in to have it serviced. This would have required a minimum of two hours driving plus however long it would take them to fix the issue. My warranty was not yet effective?! I contacted a Ford dealership and found out this was a lie. 6) Finally, I realized several days later that the vehicle tags were expired. They showed October of 2024, almost a year past expiration. I have gone through several days of being completely ghosted by my salesman (who, btw, kept unashamedly calling me 'brother' during the sale) and then promised a response from his manager only to be ghosted again. I have given up on getting any response from them. Clearly, once they take your money, they are done with you. Please stay away from this shady dealership. read more

The salesman didn't budge on the price even a dollar. I only received one key for a $50k truck I bought from them. Terrible! This dealership has had my husband's car for a month already and their communication has been unsatisfactory. Apparently the part needed to repair his car is on backorder or something with no date of repair in sight. Yesterday my husband tried contacting them about a loaner vehicle because he's been using my car and I need my car back. Before this my husband was driving Uber and had to get a new job because his car is at the dealership and Uber dropped him. This has created such a hardship for our family and this dealership doesn't seem to care. I will let everyone know never to go to this dealership ever. SHADY experience. Drove an hour to test drive a used iD.4 that we confirmed via email had the recall work done and was ready for sale. On arrival, it turned out that no- the rear window was not repaired, stuck in the down position and the car needed to stay for repairs. Ok fine. That's strike one- why not tell us by email? We signed paperwork for a test drive on the vehicle that said it was approaching 21,000 miles but not yet. We test drove the vehicle and liked it, made it through the entire purchase process including signing paperwork and we were almost done- then they spring on us that the odometer reading was actually over 23,000 "Oops sorry about that." Ok well, we need you to move on the price then, because that's a chunk off the warranty. They refused to move "We are a no-negotiations dealer." Strike two. Then, the manager, Jose, comes in to save the deal with a rebate he "just found" for $13,000 off the vehicle and asked us to sign new paperwork. YAY! No... wait. 35 minutes later, Jose says he actually isn't sure that rebate is good, so pay for the car in full now and they'll mail us a check later if they get the rebate. Uh no, not doing that. But he offered to throw in some floor mats for the trouble! We said no. We asked for a copy of the paper we signed with the rebate offer but it had suddenly gone missing. He said he'd hold the car and check on the paperwork and get back to us the following day. Well, he just had the sales rep (who was stuck in the middle) call and say "Sorry, the price is the price and the rebate isn't valid. Strike three- we don't trust you at all. I was looking at a Cadillac Escalade they had on the lot, had been in contact with James and other sales Managers, had clear communication with them to come in on a certain day to buy the vehicle, and if the vehicle was sold, for them to tell me right way. They already had the vehicle sold, yet had me come in and looked at my trade in vehicle wasting my time, while my vehicle was being inspected, the Cadillac wasn't even on the lot and I was told it was being repaired but they didn't even disclose to me what repairs were being done. Stay away from these guys. I was there to see about a used car and let's just say they tried to hide the damage in the photos on their website. When we went to test drive the car, holy crap, the damage was so obvious! These guys give snake oil salesmen a good name. read more

Listen, the people that you work with here in the front of house are amazing. Nothing short of respectful. Candy was amazing and wish I could review her solely! But I can't, this team is slow, I don't meant it in a mean way, I mean it about their pace. 7 people in the finance room standing around chatting with the people working on my deal and it took like 4 hours. I told them my plan, and they wanted to run my credit instead. I didn't want to but I was hoping they'd speed up their little process. I wanted to buy outright. I asked for a little bit of maintenance on the vehicle. Nothing huge, just please reattach the side skirt that had come off a bit. They proceed to take the part off and let me take delivery of it with a promise that I could come in Friday to have the part put back on and it would be repainted. Friday rolled around and I had no contact from them. I contacted them that weekend, to be told it wasn't ready yet. Fine things get delayed. I HAD to contact them again the following Friday. Asking if my parts were ready and if I could come in Saturday. Well I was told my parts are there but they couldn't fit me in until the following Tuesday. I then told them I'd pick the parts up and bill them after having a third party install them that day. As I was done with the lack of communication. This was a no go for them, we went back and forth for a while and little was achieved. I spoke with them again today to get these parts put on and was told "oh they just arrived let me set up an appointment for you." Was I not told they were there Friday? What if I did drive down and pick those parts up? Would they not have been there for me? I was going to review my sales contract and after further investigation of the paper work I was given... large portions of my contract were not present. I asked for them to be emailed to me by end of day at noon, and boy did they take their time. I went in had them put the parts on my car and at 6:02 pm finally documents arrived. STILL MISSING parts of the contract. AND THE FINAL AND I MEAN FINAL KICKER!!! The vehicle is still missing parts according to their service department. Incompetence doesn't even begin to explain this dealership. -written 2 weeks ago on google review, but wanted to post it here after I was emailed to do a yelp review .
