Japanese restaurant with variety of types of steak including the pricey wagyu. All excellent and high quality. Service is outstanding and attentive. The restaurant is a bit dated and is not too intimate. Plenty of parking in the lot.

    The steak

We came here to celebrate my mother's birthday and they made the occasion special! I got the scallops which I found tasty and tried some of my dad's steak, which I also thought good. The birthday dessert was yummy (I ate it because my mom doesn't eat ice cream. Score for me! Lol). The owners are friendly, and the establishment is not large. So it feels very much like community dining. It's a very unassuming spot, I've driven past it probably my whole life, but if you know you know. And reading this, now you know!

Took my wife here for her Birthday. The food was great. I had the sizzling ribeye and it was so good.

I've been here twice now and service is excellent! Probably one of the best service I have ever received. They are so accommodating! I went with my mom and sister and we all had bags that we hung on the chair. Our waitress brought over baskets so we could place them there instead, so our bags wouldn't fall, which was so considerate! The ambiance is peaceful and warm like a coffee shop. It's leaning more towards refined dining but still casual enough for everyday people. Pricing is on the higher end but expected from a higher end restaurant. The food is delicious and high quality! I recommend the hamburger steak and mentaiko pasta. And the coffee is one of the best coffees I have ever drank. Will definitely come back again!

I dunno how or why I'm only finally discovering WA Dining but here we are. In case you're unaware, this is a Japanese steakhouse so expect to pay a pretty penny to dine here. Now, let's talk food. Everything looks good but we opted for a steak omakase type meal consisting of a 5 taster appetizer, soup, tempura, steak, and dessert. The appetizer was a banger with an assortment of tuna, duck, cream cheese, tomato, and salmon. Yes, it's all fresh, and yes, it's all delicious. The soup was creamy and rich, I imagine they alternate it through the weeks but trust that you get good soup. Tempura was crispy and delicious without feeling overly oily. Yeah, I'm a fan. The steak? I got a ribeye and oof, the homemade steak sauce went amazing with the ribeye. Rich and juicy doesn't quite do it justice, anyway, just try it. The desserts are all good so just point and choose hah! So all in all, this is a delicious steakhouse tucked away in a quiet plaza so you may not know to even look here but if you do, you're in for a treat. So enough of that, come eat!

Always on the search for a good prime ribeye, I came across WA Dining - I-NABA Steakhouse on Yelp. Come to find out, it's the same owner as the I-NABA restaurant in Honolulu that I'm familiar with. After reviewing their menu online, I was stoked to see that they had a 5-course Chef's Omakase dinner. The photos of the food looked great, and the price was even better! The price depends on the main entree that you choose. We selected the 10 oz Prime Grade Ribeye for $65. Every course that we had was creative and delicious! The ribeye comes on a sizzling platter, so I'd recommend that you order it rare if you like medium rare, as the steak will continue to cook. It's not your typical ribeye that you'd get at a steakhouse like Flemings. It's smaller and not as well seasoned. It was also a bit fatty, but still tasty. Service was impeccable. The 5 courses came out in a timely manner and each course was explained to us in detail. All of the service staff were very friendly. The restaurant itself is rather small, so I'd recommend making reservations ahead of time. Although it's a steakhouse, the atmosphere is casual attire. They're located in an unassuming strip mall in Rolling Hills Estates. I'd definitely return and try another entree next time. Their 5-course Omakase dinner can't be beat!

I LOVE Inaba soba noodle so I had to come check this place. I came here for Lunch, not sure if menu differs from dinner. hamburg steak was $20 and for +$3.50 i got nice amount of salad before hamburg steak and also iced tea with free refill and dessert! Hamburg steak was good but was not amazing like I was expected. but still for $25, I got salad, tea, main dish and rice and bread. and even dessert! and of course free parking on site so overall it's very nice lunch :) .

You are allotted 90 minutes, they do a last call 30 minutes before your end time. Yakitori Nishi is situated in an unsuspecting plaza with a hole in the wall feel. As you enter and are seated you're transported to a yakitori bar filled with the smells of charcoal and a vivacious ambiance. If you are not a selective eater, I highly recommend trying every skewer they have! My friend and I ordered the pork belly, chicken meatball, quail egg, chicken thigh with green onion, fried tofu, zucchini, fried onigiri (grilled rice ball), and the potato (with butter). There were also specials off menu - we tried the chicken sasami which was incredibly tender. All the skewers were seasoned so well and the charcoal made a huge difference in the experience. We did pair our proteins with the onigiri and potato which filled us up. There were condiments to complement the skewers - Japanese spice powder, yuzu kosho, vinegar, and soy sauce. I pretty much had the yuzu kosho with everything. I'm not sure if there was something wrong with their AC, but it was quite hot in there! After a while you get used to it and adds to the authenticity of enjoying a yakitori on a hot summer evening in Japan.

He LOVES yakitori and we were looking forward to trying this place as there is a lack of authentic yakitori around where we live and have to travel (mostly) to South Bay. It is a small restaurant and reservations are highly recommended. Since we sat by the entrance, every group that walked in I can hear they have a reservation. Two parties arrived where they were turned away or told to come back at 9pm. The first thing we noticed was the grill was nowhere in sight. We are used to having yakitori being cooked in or near the dining room but this one has it located inside the kitchen. The negative with this is that the cook won't be able to visually see where each customer is at with their food and our skewers ended up coming out pretty quickly one after another. In regard to the food, I have never seen grilled pork feet on a menu before so I had to order it. Wow, it was better than I imagined. I'm used to having it boiled or braised so it being grilled was new to me. The skewers that come sauced were lacking flavor; the skewers with salt is definitely better. I also appreciate the cook being able to accommodate our request on how cooked we wanted a couple of the skewers. We agreed it was a pretty good yakitori spot and will come back again. It was unfortunate I was too stuffed to try their rice ball and will have to try it next time. Also to note, if you're sitting at the bar just be careful if you have drinks. The ledge where your serving plate sits on is tilted. I had to leave my drink on the flat surface to keep it from tilting. Another patron unfortunately had his beer spilled on him due to the tilt. I'm not sure if there is some sort of bumper the restaurant can place on that ledge to avoid future accidents.

The dining room is relatively small, with roughly 10 to 15 tables, and the two employees working the floor were hustling all evening and did a genuinely nice job taking care of everyone. The food itself was solid. The standout dish of the night was actually the grilled asparagus, which came with a soy-based preparation that was absolutely outstanding, perfectly tender and cooked just right. The wedge salad was also very good, and both the 16oz ribeye@$86, and the 8oz filet mignon @$76 were well prepared and enjoyable. Where things became more complicated for me was the overall value proposition. The prices are undeniably steep, especially for Lomita. Whenever I dine somewhere upscale, I inevitably ask myself whether, for the same money, I would have rather gone somewhere else. In this case, the answer was yes. I was also a bit disappointed to discover that there is no full bar. The restaurant seems to steer guests toward wine and sake, with only a handful of beer options available. Unfortunately, the first two beers I ordered, an IPA and then a Modelo, both on the menu, both out of stock, which certainly didn't help my overall impression. The dining room itself felt somewhat drab, all black walls, and lacked the refinement that I would expect at this price point. Dark walls and a crystal chandelier create an interesting contrast, but small details stood out for the wrong reasons. For example, I noticed exposed holes in the bar where a purse hook or latch had apparently been relocated. It may seem minor, but details like that matter when you're charging premium prices. At the end of the night, my wife and I walked out more than $300 lighter. While the food was undeniably good and the service was attentive, the experience simply didn't feel like a $300 evening to us. Overall, The Food Library delivers quality food and hardworking service, but for the price, I left wishing the atmosphere and overall experience matched the bill a bit more closely.
