Hubby took the kids and I here to celebrate Mother's Day. They do allow kids but the kids have to be a certain age. My kids are 8 & 10 years old. My kids had their ipads but staff told us that they are not able to use them as they are a fine dining establishment. My son was not very happy about that and then had some difficulties sitting there as there were some waiting periods. Their ipads would have had no sound on but still was not allowed to be used. We have been to many fine dining establishments before and have never had any issues with our kids using their ipads. I also saw the staff tell a family that they couldn't dine there because their kiddos were too young. It didn't look like they had a specific dress code. We were pretty casually dressed and so were other people that were dining. The lighting was on the dimmer side. They do provide free bread and butter. If you have been to Tamaen yakiniku restaurant, they are pretty much part of the same restaurant group. Overall, it was a good try but I cannot say that I was truly blown away. Meat quality is good but nothing was truly memorable as that's my fault for being a foodie and love trying so many spots. Prices are on the high side, so be prepared to spend $. I personally like Tamaen a lot but the Library Steak fell a little short for me, hence I would not come back. But if you are like me and like/want to try new spots then I would say stop by and check them out. Ordered: *Ribeye *NY Steak *A5 Wagyu Sushi *Half dozen oysters *Truffle Fries - If you need ketchup, make sure to ask because they do have it. *Bone Marrow - you get two bones and one of the bone barely had any marrow. Tips: *Reservation accepted *Restroom available. *Shared parking lot with other businesses. *Hours of Operations - 7 days a week but evening time only. *Alcohol is served here. *You can bring your own wine bottle but there is a corkage fee. *For parties of five (5) guests or more, a 20% service charge will be applied. *Additionally, we kindly request a minimum food and beverage spend of $120 per person.

Aged tomahawk, t-bone ribeye both medium rare with asparagus and mushrooms.

Service and food were great! Only beer and wine is served, no cocktails :( Took off 1 star because the ambiance off, but overall we like

Amazing hidden gem in the south bay. This restaurant is tucked away in a plaza that never gets busy, so there's always plenty of parking. It's a Japanese steakhouse specializing in Wagyu but they have plenty of other options as well. We ended up getting the ribeye (16oz) which was cooked to perfection. For sides, we also ordered the lobster mac n cheese (8/10), roasted wild mushroom (9.5/10) and not pictured is the smooth mashed potatoes (9.5/10). Everything was great, we went for my birthday and they took a polaroid picture of us! The restaurant wasn't busy while we dined in on a Tuesday night so it was quiet, so maybe weekends might be more crowded. The staff is super nice, very knowledgeable about the menu, and had plenty to say about each item.

I was blown away by how good this place was! We got the cotton candy wagyu skewers - this is a must. The cotton candy just melts in your mouth and pairs so well with the saltiness of the wagyu beef underneath... the contrast in flavors was amazing and was pleasantly surprised! The cotton candy and the wagyu just melted in my mouth! I also got the salmon carpaccio which came with a yuzu ponzu sauce that was very tasty. We shared the lobster Mac n cheese and the mushroom side dish which were good as well. Definitely a splurge but great for a special occasion! Service was excellent.

This was after the poor review was posted. i usually never do negative reviews but I also got food poisoning from the spoiled Lobster.

This place is by far the most overpriced place I have ever ate. it is in a strip mall in a horrible area. I ordered the lobster and had the manager smell it, it smelt sour and had a bad taste. i was not eaten. i also addressed the horrible service by the 19 year old waiters they have. my wife steak came out 15 minutes before all the other food so she waited for the other food and by then her food was cold. I do not mind spending $750 for a meal but between the horrible service and the inability for the manager to do the right thing my the evening unenjoyable and I would recommend everyone stay as far away as possible. i thing my biggest issue is that the manager acknowledged the lobster may be spoiled but still left it on the bill. if you see all my previous reviews i usually never go negative but this place is horrible.

Whoa!!! What an inconspicuous hidden gem in Lomita. Don't let the shopping center fool you!!! Once you enter The Steak Library it's very nice and upscale Vibes! All the food we ordered was amazing! Cooked just the way I like and much flavor. Though I do not eat steak, their seafood options were bomb!!! I ordered the garlic shrimp, crab cakes, lobster Mac &cheese, and Caesar salad that was scrumptious!! The service was elite and beyond accommodating!!! You cannot beat that when it comes to customer service ! Our servers and managers were very amicable and professional! I like the simple fact they open the door for you once you leave. Right next door is their sister restaurant that I also want to try!! They are known for their steaks and tomahawk and they did look quite delicious!! My siblings said their steaks were very good and cooked perfectly! So this is a steak spot !! They only serve wine and beer but they have good selections. It's kind of small inside but it's cute and perfect for many occasions! They get busy so reservations are a must !! I highly recommend and will be back for sure!

Last night, I had the pleasure of dining at The Steak Library with my honey and my brother-in-law--and let me just say, this place is an absolute hidden gem. It's tucked away in a strip mall, but don't let that fool you. The moment you walk in, it feels like you've stepped into another dimension--low-key, cozy, and full of charm. The aesthetics are warm and inviting, setting the perfect tone for an unforgettable night. The food? Incredible. The steaks were perfectly cooked and seasoned, but one of the biggest highlights for me was trying caviar for the first time--and it was absolutely delicious. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was smooth, savory, and such a luxurious touch to the evening. The service is excellent!!

Ordered an aged Porterhouse 40oz steak, I am usually not a big fan of aged steak, however this one is absolutely delicious!!! Very well cooked, not too salty but enough flavor to differentiate it from a fresh steak. It is an elegant, quiet and not crowded Saturday night dinner. House made NY cheesecake is very good, not too dense not too fluffy! In my opinion, wine and beverage on the pricy side. It's $400+ plus tips.

I'm quite torn on the way I'd like to review this restaurant. Nonetheless, my evening was still enjoyable! As a person who absolutely delights in dinner at a good steakhouse, I was slightly disappointed in my steak tonight. Maybe I've been to some supreme restaurants that have created high standards or maybe I was expecting some unparalleled steak at that price. That's not to say it wasn't good, it was but I do believe there were opportunities for enhancement. It just didn't Wow me. So I'll start with the positives. The convenience of booking a reservation and the proximity of this place went hand in hand for two tired parents just trying to squeeze in a dinner date. The ambiance was a romantic vibe with dimmed lights, tied off drapes around the front tables, mirrors along the back wall and piano music playing at the perfect volume. When we walked in we were instantly greeted by Ben. He was also the person to book our reservation over the phone and also waited our table. Very kind young man with exceptional service. Everyone had given us excellent service and were all very attentive to us, I have no complaints regarding service. Now when we opened the menu we just couldn't believe it. We have been to some upscale restaurants before this and couldn't believe that some more established restaurants didn't charge that price for a steak. I feel terrible to keep considering the price in this review, I understand Japanese wagyu is the best of the best but we just didn't feel like taking a leap of faith on it tonight lol. We were given two pieces of bread with two different types of butters. (I really feel they would do better if served a basket of warm bread not two slices but maybe that's just my stomach talking.) After reviewing the menu in shock, we went with the prime new York and ribeye cooked medium, shared a side of asparagus and ordered truffle butter as well...This was the perfect amount of food for us. The steaks were served on a hot plate where you can literally hear the steak sizzle. This is a must for a steakhouse! But immediately after trying to cut my first piece of steak it felt a bit tough. And it was! Instantly disappointed, I felt as though it lacked flavor without constantly having to dip it in the truffle butter we ordered. I couldn't help but I notice my husband had the same look in his eyes without having to say anything at all. So I offered him the truffle butter and it helped with the flavor of each steak. Our asparagus was good it had a soy based sauce and good flavor, some reviews say it was salty but we thought they were cooked just right. So I am not sure if it is because we ordered the prime and not the wagyu but we were disappointed. At the same time I could say I am glad we spent $200 on the prime and not waste $400 on a steak that wasn't cooked to perfection. All in all, this place is worth visiting as it has mixed reviews. People seem to like it, we enjoyed it I believe it has a lot of room to grow and great potential in the South Bay. Maybe move to a more inviting location, perfect their steaks and expand the menu just a little bit. That's just my two cents. I wish them well here and hope to return in the future with an even better experience.

One of the best Valentine's Day steak dinner! We started with the marinated octopus and tomato as the appetizer, followed by a main course of an 8 oz. Filet Mignon for each of us cooked to perfection covered with fresh shaved truffles, sides of creamed spinach and truffled mashed potatoes. This restaurant located in a strip mall in Lomita is a gem of a place! Service is very attentive, cozy atmosphere. They do not have a full bar, only wine, beer, and sake. Although it is a bit pricey, they have a much better quality overall than some of the other high end steak houses. They for sure are much better than Flemings which I feel has gone down hill in my many years of eating there. This will become my favorite steak house from now on! It is conveniently located with a great menu!

Here you can find different types of Wagyu that you wouldn't typically find in most steakhouses in L.A. such as Hida and Olive fed (usually from Shodoshima). They still have the classical Wagyu Kobe and Miyazaki. 1. Cotton candy wagyu: a lot of sweet onion. Not a lot of meat. 2. Bone marrow: good but very oily 3. Bone in rib eye and dry aged Kansas rib eye: meat was a bit tougher than the fillet. Dry aged had a slightly different flavor but overall was not that different. 4. Fillet : tender and flavorful. Would get this again n 5. Hida and Olive Wagyu: too fatty/oily. 1 or 2 slices way enough 8. roasted wild mushroom, mashed potatoes and creamed spinach were good sides.

The steaks are fundamentally incredible. The staff is top notch and on top of it. Quite spot in a strip mall. Who would have guessed that this place was there. Very impressive Wagyu selection. Went for my birthday and was very impressed especially when the table was decorated with Rose Petals. Great touch to a memorable family evening.

Let's talk about the food (aka: The Reason They've Been Voted Best Steakhouse 13 Years Straight) Let's talk about the the star of the show, Diamond Jim Cut -- 19oz of prime rib glory. Medium, juicy, tender, and so perfectly seasoned it felt like the chef whispered affirmations to it before plating. This thing didn't just sit on the plate, it posed and winked at me. It had main‑character energy. Honestly, the steak looked at me like, "You sure you're ready for this?" Respectfully, I was not... but I still finished it like a champion. Everything else? Straight hits: * Prime Rib Special, classic, comforting, and exactly what a 1960s steakhouse should taste like. * Grilled Jumbo Shrimp, big enough to file taxes. So delicious! * Sautéed Mushrooms, wow...wow...wow, buttery, earthy, and the perfect sidekick to the prime rib. * New England Clam Chowder, so creamy, hearty, and not shy with the clams. Love it! * Shrimp Cocktail, very classy and retro, refreshing, and served like it's still 1969 (in a good way). Super delicious! The service here is chef's‑kiss classic. Truly excellent and the staff, very warm, attentive, and smooth, the kind where the staff checks in just enough to make you feel taken care of but never interrupts your prime‑rib spiritual experience. Plates come out hot, drinks land quickly, and everyone moves with that confident rhythm of a team that's been doing this for decades. Super big thanks for all that you do! This place has that retro steakhouse charm that feels like stepping into a vintage movie set. Dark wood, red leather, dim lights, and a vibe that says, "Order a martini and talk about business you don't actually have." It's cozy, nostalgic, and honestly refreshing in a world full of neon‑lit modern restaurants. At one point, the Diamond Jim Cut was so massive I considered calling for backup. I swear the prime rib looked at me like, "Buddy... this is a commitment." The jumbo shrimp were so big I almost asked them what gym they go to. And the clam chowder? Thick enough to patch drywall. Let's not get political (please) - it's Yelp after all…read more I chose here this year for my husband's annual birthday brunch! He loves a decadent brunch. Who doesn't? And after a number of years patroning the Four Season's Beverly Hills brunch on Doheny I wanted to try something new. There's not many decadent, birthday worthy brunch options in our post Covid world. So when I found this one, read the menu and saw the price point I was ALL in. And my goodness it blew last year at the four seasons away by a lot!!! (They dipped significantly after Covid - not the same value). The Trump had EVERYTHING you could want in a brunch. Sushi, free flowing champagne, prime rib, crepes, crab, waffles, eggs Benedict, pancakes, chocolate dipped fruit, breads, bagels, cheeses, salad, Korean short ribs, shrimp, shrimp scampi, pasta, omelettes, oysters, fruit & figs, and sausage & bacob. I know for a fact I am missing offerings. It was world class, A+ with live music and wonderful service. The views of the pacific were gorgeous on our blustery day. My goodness it was so pretty. We were not rushed at all. It wasn't cramped or crowded. I loved it! And I'd definitely make this a recurring birthday treat for him. It was absolutely worth it.

No one checked on us, it took way too long to get served and when we finally did, it was with an attitude. Our appetizer order was also forgotten. The restaurant had only 2 tables of guests, including us. Shocking for a Saturday night. So the excuse of being busy isn't going to fly here. We will not be back. Although I enjoyed the food, being ignored and treated like crap doesn't make it worth it. If you want decent food, excellent service by the sea, I'd recommend going to Redondo Beach or Hermosa Beach. ANYWHERE but here!

We ordered a $13.99 personal meal. My wife had the mac & cheese with a salad, and I had the combo pizza with a Caesar salad. We added two drinks for $1.99 each and shared a nutty coleslaw. I was surprised at how large the "personal size" mac & cheese was -- it was very generous. We ended up sharing the pizza, mac & cheese, and coleslaw and still had plenty of food. The meal also came with two personal-size carrot cakes, which we took home for the next day. Even sharing just one was more than enough. Everything was delicious, but the carrot cake really stood out. Super moist, full of carrots and chunks of pineapple, and topped with an amazing cream cheese frosting. The menu says it's made from scratch, and it definitely tasted homemade. Definitely recommend! **After reading some of the 3 and 1 reviews, I'm hoping to have an equally positive experience on my next visit.

Service was great, staff was nice and the place looks good. That's where the positives end unfortunately. The food was honestly terrible. -Mashed potatoes tasted straight out of a packet--gooey, liquidy and cheap. -Breadsticks were weirdly loaded with Parmesan and missing the usual garlic flavor. -Salad was chopped into oblivion no reason. -The tri-tip easily the worst I've ever had from Stonefire. Rubbery, badly seasoned, and felt like low-quality meat. Completely different from what they serve at other locations. -BBQ sauce was off. Way too much black pepper to the point it made me cough. It's definitely not the original sauce. This didn't feel like Stonefire. It felt like a completely different restaurant trying to pass as Stonefire. Really disappointing.

That's the kind of employee you want, as the first impression is huge. They have a huge menu, so we looked ahead of time on Yelp so we can order right away. Josie was our server and, again, so welcoming. She kept our water and tea refilled when we needed it. The food was delicious! The one thing issue with my flatbread it was soggy from the chili sauce on top. The flavor amazing, but needed to eat with fork and knife. My hubby's chicken sandwich was yummy. They have a rewards program, so make sure to sign up. We will definitely return. 8/27/26

I recently went to a party where all the food was from Truxtons! The food was delicious. I took photos. There were salmon skewers, Bistro Salad, various sandwiches, fruit, hummus and veggies pickled cucumbers, penne pasta, and skewers of tomato, cheese with basil .Everyone at the party raved about how good the food tasted. Of course the host displayed the food beautifully. The host picked up the food in large container trays from the restaurant and then arranged the food at home for the party. 5 stars for the food!

I was pleasantly surprised to see they got an extension to stay till July 11, This place has been a staple of the South Bay for over 50 years and I literally grew up just down the street from here. I remember wondering as child how it was to dine here but it wasn't until I was in college a few years back that I finally got to try this spot out. It's been a go to spot ever since. I've been here with family and friends for various celebrations, occasions and even dineLA (see previous review). I will miss their dine LA specials, Prime Rib Wednesdays, Black Angus Wagon Wheel samplers and Campfeast Dinner for 2. It was always a treat to have their Sky High Mud Pie and their Chocolate Chip Cowboy Cookie for my birthday. I do hope the Torrance location finds another spot. They have been such a big part of the South Bay story and it would be wonderful if they can continue to be part of the Torrance.

I'll jump to the end real quick because this is important .... no fault of the restaurant but in the parking area (I parked far enough so that my car wouldn't be hit by anyone) and some bozo still managed to swipe my entire side front end of my new car. Jerrrrrkoff move of the driver but I guarantee you that karrrrma is going to come back ten-fold to you. What comes around, goes around so I'm not worried about a fish being served cold to you, soon. Ample parking; however not great drivers. Everyone had 7pm reservations and the establishment did great in getting everyone to be seated in an orderly fashion. The staff was welcoming. One patron decided to be the a h o l e of the night and cut everyone in line as she believed she was entitled. Many people were upset with this. Totally understandable. The lady ended up going to the bar with her husband and friend. She is an embarrassment. Again, no fault of the restaurant. We had a great team who worked beyond hard and provided great service. Leo, Candy and Savannah were the main host and cocktail artists. Our server was Thomas. I believe we were so lucky to have him. He provided the utmost exceptional service. I'm all about great customer service and he was excellent. He definitely made our night. My sister and mom had made reservations and my husband and I had another reservation. We were able to sit together. Our daughter came but did not order since she was Keto and did not want to break her ketosis. Kudos to the chef! Everything was savory, heavenly and exquisite. The experience came with; 1st course: Deviled eggs, smoked paprika, crispy bacon, crispy potato chip 2nd course: shrimp cocktail, house cocktail sauce, basil aioli Paired with a limoncello martini featuring Grey Goose Vodka ENTRÉE: Top Sirloin au poivre, mashed Potatoes, grilled asparagus, brandy cream sauce Paired with a cucumber martini featuring Grey Goose Vodka DESSERT: Berry crème brûlée Paired with Key Lime Pie Martini featuring Grey Goose Vodka The price was very reasonable. I loved the limoncello martini and cucumber martini. Grey Goose is my favorite along with crème brûlée so I knew this night would be a good one. Thomas, is such a delight. We hope to see him again. We are astonished by his great service. His attention to detail all the time while providing excellent service with a smile. He was so friendly and made sure we and others were taken care of. This Torrance location has been one that we have come to since I was a little girl. It's really sad to see them closing but I'm looking forward to hopefully seeing all of these lovely workers at the new place. The restaurant has an old school western style and feel.
