Wa Seng has been in town for as long as I can remember and so far has been providing us with good quality chinese food. Like most chinese food stores they offer a wide variety in the menu but my go-to order has usually been their general tso's, seafood panfried noodles and yang chow fried rice (i like to add an egg to that!). With all the chinese fast food stores ive tried, wa seng has the best General tsos! Compare it to others, theirs has more white meat and not just sauce and batter! The portions are very generous and they are tasty. I mentioned White chicken meat right? Yes! Just take a bite and see. The seafood panfried has some pieces of real lobster/crab meat which was good and the Yang Chow is enjoyable especially when it's still hot. Hey I know chinese fast food is chinese fast food but Wa Seng is just a step a little bit up. Deserved some recognition. We regularly order from Wa Seng because they are absolutely the best Chinese food in the area. Chicken with black bean sauce, mu shu pork, and sesame chicken are all favorite dishes in our house. The sauces are not too syrupy or oily, just right consistency. Egg rolls are also perfectly fried with no extra grease. Only criticism is we don't like their soups. Our go to Chinese place stopped delivering to Montville so we gave this place a shot. Excellent prices (free egg rolls with a $20 order!) and portions. Only complaints, one of the entrees was cold (to be fair, it was also a below freezing night) and I wish my chicken and broccoli had a little more sauce. Best Chinese food in town! You can see them cooking and see the kitchen is really clean. You can customize your order (ask them to make it more or less spicy, no onions etc.) Jenny is very friendly and her little son, Vincent, sometimes takes the orders and handles the cash register. Worst Chinese take out I have ever had. Sesame Chicken and Beef with Broccoli were awful. The Spring Rolls had to much carrot in them and that was overwhelming all other flavors. The Dumplings were not moist. The Crab Rangoon was the highlight, which was actually quite good. read more

They had me at "all white meat chicken"! This is some of the best tasting Chinese food I've had. If I could change one thing I think they can go a little spicier on the spicy options. The hot and sour soup is better than most others I've had. There's a reason it's been around awhile. Give it a try I don't think you'll be disappointed. Ordered sesame chicken, beef chow fun and Szechuan beef. The food was very bad. Beef chow fun had celery which is not usual and normal but more importantly, it had no taste at all. The noodles were all clumped together and it was the worst. Szechuan beef had big pieces of zucchinis, broccoli and some other veggies but zucchinis and broccolis are not vegetables you normally find in Szechuan beef. This dish also tasted awful. Sesame chicken was soggy and the water from steamed broccoli was diluting the sauce. The choices of veggies they used, the color of the dish and the taste were all very wrong and bad. I am surprised that anyone actually goes back to this place... I was so hoping it would be good so I am extra disappointed. read more

Do I have to give it a star? Throw your money out the window. It will be a better investment because at least someone might find it and buy something worthwhile. This is THE WORST Chinese restaurant, and maybe the worst food I have ever eaten. Let me tell you, I do not have a refined pallet, and for the most part, I'll eat just about anything without complaint. We ordered a poo-poo appetizer platter for three. Everything was fatty, greasy, and just plain nasty. I think I even bit on some sand in one of my beef steaks. The chicken wings weren't so bad but were also heavily fried.
