Sample of the plantspired steak! So yummy!

Giving my local Waba Grill location 5 stars! The food is always great and the service is excellent! Christina is amazing at customer service, and even let me try a sample of the plantspired steak which was delicious! Thanks Christina and Waba Grill!

shrimp veggie bowl with white rice and WaBa sauce ($13.90) 5/19/20

My personal experience recognizes Waba Grill for bland food. It'd been a few years since I'd tried them, so I thought a COVID-19 quarantine delivery on 5/19/20 was in order. Through Postmates I got $.99 delivery. Not bad. The order went through at 5:39PM and was at our doorstep at 6:04. Again, not bad. The food overall, though, while fresh and certainly healthy just isn't all that satisfying even with garlic Serrano sauce, WaBa sauce, soy sauce, Sriracha... geeze. One daughter wanted the chicken veggie bowl with white rice and no sauce ($10.19). She ended up wanting "some kind of sauce." The other girl wanted the shrimp veggie bowl with white rice and WaBa sauce ($13.90). This girl didn't like the WaBa sauce. I couldn't win for trying. Two fails in a row. My salmon veggie bowl with brown rice and garlic Serrano sauce ($13.09) was A-okay. Bland. Not a very large portion. The most disappointing item was the side cucumber edamame kimchi ($2.25). Why so sweet? If your tastebuds aren't on a bland diet, then pass.

That's all there was inside steak bowl.

They gave me only part of my bowl. Ridiculous small portion - I have never experienced this before in any other Waba. Will not return.

Picked dinner up from here last night and had an awful experience. We had three bowls which totaled $34. They had a promotion for free dumplings if you spend $20 or more and we spent well above that. They would not honor it. They insisted that the promotion was over when it clearly states april 23-April 24. Aside from that the food was cold and the steak bowl was super salty. Dont recommend this location as they don't honor their own promotion and the quality of the food is not all there.

Food is always made fresh and you can tell they really care Tantalizing Eggplant Bowl (no peppers) with Thai Steak on the side, Garlic Rice & Side salad! I loved how customizable the bowls are because you can switch out your proteins and sides. Everything was bomb, the steak was really flavorful and not dry at all! Also the eggplants hit the spot cause I was craving it, has slightly sweet notes and pairs really nicely with the garlic rice. Side salad was great too. I can't wait to come back again. My friend got the drunken noodles and they have three spice levels. She got the middle spicy and that one packed a punch for me, abit too spicy for my liking but she said she wants to try the Thai spicy (highest level) next time.

I felt almost confused at first, like as if the restaurant wasn't even sure of its own identity. However, once I started eating the food, I understood and am extremely impressed. I had ordered the crawfish pasta, popcorn chicken (spicy), and fried baos. The pasta was cooked perfectly with chunks of crawfish and sausage in a creamy tomato-esque sauce. I usually don't care for crawfish, but it was so delicious here. The sauce was so buttery and creamy, and the sausage added a cajun spice to the dish. The components are all very seafood boil, but felt different and innovative with unique flavors. The popcorn chicken was seasoned very well and had the perfect fried, crispy texture you'd expect from popcorn chicken. What really made this unique was the sauce that it was served with. I am not sure what exactly the sauce is, but it tastes like a ginger scallion sauce that is served with Chinese boiled chicken. The sauce is a little more elevated and flavorful than a traditional ginger scallion sauce. I would've never thought to combine popcorn chicken with it, but it works! The fried baos were the most surprising to me. I was keeping my expectations low because I usually think frying something that's not normally fried doesn't always bode well. Fear not, the baos were fried perfectly. They were fried lightly while the inside kept your typical bao consistency. Also, in case you were wondering the type of bao, it is basically a steamed bao with ground pork, and I think an egg yolk inside. The flavors felt very much like traditional dim sum, yet new and fresh. Hats off to the chefs and the creators of these dishes. So innovative while still keeping the familiar Asian flavors! I ordered delivery, so this review was solely based off of the food.

There is definitely a little bit more of a fushion-cuisine touch to this pho restaurant, but I love it! I dig being able to order elote and Vietnamese soup in the same place. The meat here is consistently tender from the experiences I can recall. The rib bones pho is worth trying at least once, but their combination bowl still hits the spot all the same. I do wish the overall average price point was a few dollars cheaper. I think their cheapest bowl of pho is already $14-$15.
