Came for a quick lunch, expecting cheap quality food for a cheap quality price. I found that adding brown rice costs extra (fine) and adding vegetables costs even more (less fine). Ultimately, I paid almost $6 for a bowl that was mostly rice and some chicken, the latter of which was (admittedly) edible. Expectation shattered. Had I eaten all the rice, I would've been full. I would've also increased my BMI by a full point, which is absurd in a place whose tagline is "Eat smart, Be Healthy!". There are better places in the vicinity. I personally visit this Waba Grill 3 times a week, and I hate it. Sure, it is healthier than Taco Bell; Yes, the chicken plate with extra teriyaki is palatable; but the number of times I have waited over 13 minutes to receive said flash grilled breast on a bed of pre-cooked white rice with salad is absolutely unacceptable. I have a very packed, tight schedule during my lunch break, and if Waba thinks that they can burn up my social hour with their so called "fast food" would be laughable, if it were a joke. Not to mention the avocado. Who is choosing these avocados? It is like this establishment believes ripe is a state of mind. I bring my own now. I mean, I still go, but that is only due to my personal lack of dignity. So this is the closest WaBa Grill around me. My wife can not stand this particular place but I've always gave it a chance. Well this was the last time...customer service is not an issue, for us it the CRUNCHY A$$ RICE. Your job is to serve rice with everything, it should be always on point but NOPE, not here. I go here frequently for lunch. The staff is friendly, the food is prepared accurately to order and I generally don't wait long. It's very good quality for the price. The brown rice is better than the white rice and the dark meat chicken is better than the white meat chicken. I have not tried the other protein options Very solid place read more

I gave this place 1 star because I paid extra for brown rice and got white rice instead in my order. I got my order to go and didn't realize I was given the wrong rice till I got back to work and didn't have enough time to return it and have my order corrected. I usually go to the location close to my house in Long Beach. Since I go often my son brought me a gift card to use at WaBa grill for Christmas. So for lunch I decided to find a location close to my job and use my gift card. After ordering I was informed that I could not use my gift card until after the holidays. I've been a customer at waba for years now, i love your employees except for your new one. Some skinny girl who just started working there, each time she's attended me she gets something wrong or she doesn't give me my receipts with the barcode. She needs more training. At first i would let it slide since she was new but shes been there for about 2-3 months and she still doesn't know how to work properly. I love the girl with green eyes and the other cashier, very nice and quick girls! The food is amazing though. read more

I just left this location, I picked up 2 chicken bowls I called in. One of the employees was sitting on top of the counter when we walked in, which disgusting and downright unsanitary. Another employee was sitting in the area where the customers eat taking selfies and filming herself. Another customer walked in and actually asked if everyone was on break. It was no surprise that when we got got our food out to eat when we got home, there was no sauce in our bowls at all, so we basically had dry teriyaki bowls. The staff that was there this evening do not care about the customers or the brand they are representing. I like Waba Grill but I won't be going back to this location. read more

Simplified teriyaki, either chicken, steak, shrimp or salmon. I have tried the steak and chicken.They also over free condiments of fresh green onions, pickled carrots and jalapeños. I seem to prefer this place over flame broiler. Flame broiler tends to drown their food in their magic sauce. Despite the location, it is very clean and well maintained. This restaurant reminds me of Flame Broiler, It's almost an exact copy. Parking was easy and the staff was nice as well. I ordered a chicken bowl with half brown rice, half veggies. I usually don't like comparing different restaurants but this review will be based on a comparison. The food was delicious, But in comparison to flame broiler the veggies could taste better. The chicken was delicious, i'd say a bit better than flame broiler, the only issue was I barely got any.. and the reason I ordered a chicken teriyaki bowl was to get chicken. Flame broiler gave me 3X the chicken I received here. The brown rice tasted as it should, compared to flame broiler the brown rice was the same. Price was average and facility was clean. The only issue I had was the small amount of food received compared to flame broiler, I'll definitely give this place another shot and i'll update on my next visit. Overall good food! read more

I was excited to try this place because the pictures on the menu looked so good. Ohh, how I wad disappointed. I had the grilled beef on salad. Although the beef tasted good, it came with burnt bits, as if the grill has been used a while and not kept clean and charcoalized particles follwed the the meat to my plate. A little unpleasant when you bite down into it. It appeared at Waba Grill a pile of lettuce a salad makes. It was just a pile of lettuce with carrots sprinkled on top. And oi dress up the salad an Oriental dressing was offered. Unfortunately, it had the consistency of nose mucus. It tasted okay but the thick, slimy dressings texture was very off putting. Decided to finally sit down and review this wabagrill location. I probably eat here 1-2 times per week. I used to eat at flamebroilers, but their chicken sucks. I like Waba Grill much better. Other than that the food and service is consistently good. The only reason I dinged them a star is because they don't have sriracha sauce. I recall them having it for about a week and then it disappeared. All thats left now is their house hot sauce, which is terrible btw. Fortunately, they have jalapenos so I can get my spiciness from there. Overall, its good cheap and healthy eats. read more

In my opinion, flame broiler (right up the streest) is much better. Waba grill is a little more expensive than flame broiler. They charge for brown rice, which flame broilier offers as a free choice. They are also "skimpy" with their meat. I lve right next door to Waba Grill but i'll still drive down the street to flame broiler. Although Waba grill does have a better selection of meat, they offer salmon and shrimp, flame broiler meat is much more seasoned and their vegies are better. Their "magic' sauce is much better than waba grill's teriyaki sauce. Both are both good healthy choices. read more
