I'm a sushi purist so Wabi didn't hit the mark for me. All the sushi is "with a twist" and for me had too much mayo and other sauces. Not to say it wasn't tasty but it was just too heavy for my taste. We had the crispy rice with spicy tuna to start. The rice was nice and crisp/chewy, and there was a good size portion of tuna on top. This was the favorite. We also had the baked crab roll and tiger king roll. Both tasted ok but I prefer to let the fish shine and have less mayo/sauce/mango/etc.
Wonderful first time experience! Jade was an amazing server and we enjoyed several of her recommendations! Cocktails: Keke Palmer, Japanese Old Fashion, and Soko Sake. Appetizers: Edamame and Crispy Rise (comes with 4 pieces). Entrees: Sushi Platter Tiger King Roll Cross Cross Lemon Sauce Rick James Moonlight Roll We very much enjoyed the sushi platter, Rick James roll and the Criss Cross Lemon Sauce. The ambiance is great with intimate couches and plants everywhere. Would recommend coming here again and again.
Absolutely love coming here; very cute outdoor seating, intimate and has heaters. Great for a group dinner. Also love the indoor bar space if you want more casual dining. Great assortment of traditional sushi and some vegetarian/ vegan options. I love the tempura - it is so crunchy, I've never had anything like it! Also MUST get the edamame, maybe even one just for yourself. Staff is incredibly kind and attentive; I love bringing folks from out of town here so they can have a cute but elevated Venice experience!
This is the sushi spot you go to with the girls or for date night. They offer great happy hour specials, too! The interior is beautiful and the service is always amazing. I love the toro nigiri and the spicy tuna rolls, and the cocktails are strong yet perfectly balanced. Honestly, I don't think I've ever ordered anything here that I didn't like.
It's been a while since I had been to Venice and I had a chance to meet one of my friends who is visiting from Florida and we had fun but the service was ATROCIOUS!! Our waiter forgot our drink order and then he completely spaced out and we had to remind him to bring the second round of sushi. The food is way overpriced for the quality which is mediocre at best. This was my first time at this particular location, I went to the old Wabi Sabi on Abbott Kenny, which was 100 times better. I probably would not come back because of their unorganized chaos.
Amazing service, amazing food . The energy is also amazing with great music, great sitting and views. I made a reservation for the couch on the patio couple of weeks ago for Valentine's Day asking on the notes for a specific type of table and they did deliver!! Thank you for the great service and delicious food! We will be back !
Made a reservation for a table here not knowing what to expect, and wow was I impressed! Not only is it a just restaurant, but the atmosphere of the whole place is so lively! I would say it is a restaurant/bar type of vibe, so if you're looking for a fun night out along with a delicious dinner this is the spot. You can come here to sit down and eat, or you can just come for drinks to enjoy the music and good vibes. We tried a few of the dishes because the menu was just irresistible. I was a bit worried at first since I am not a huge fan of fish and this is a sushi restaurant, but there were soo many options. The Crispy Rice was full of flavor, the Broccolini was seasoned perfectly, and the Chicken Karaage was also so crunchy in the best way. But the Spicy Wagyu Dumplings and Skirt Steak Skewers is what really won my heart. The Skewers were bursting with flavor and I was blown away, highly recommended! There is also a beautiful outdoor seating area with a nice ambiance, and the cocktails are tasty as well.
For the ambience, I'm giving it 4.5 stars and for the food I'm giving it 2.5 stars, so I sent summed it up to about three stars. To be quite honest, I didn't think sushi in Venice was going to be the best anyways however we were in the area and craving sushi. The only sushi roll that I actually liked that we got was the one with the caviar and truffle sauce on it, and the one with tuna and jalapeño on top. I'm not sure of the names, but that is what they consisted of those two were actually pretty good, the other ones I ordered were not good to me. The car chicken was a 4/10. The steak skewers a 7/10. The wontons were gross tbh, I took them back and ordered the skewers instead. And the hamachi sashimi was a 4/10. One of the reasons we decided to go to this restaurant is because we seen the amazing pictures on Yelp. However, when we got there, the server told us that they've changed the menu a lot and removed a lot of things. I saw a picture of the wontons from five days ago (from when I went) and they had apparently switch the recipe for the wontons. They looked so good in the picture and I'm sure they were better. Not sure why they would replace them. The ambience is cute though, and I like how they have indoor outdoor however, the service wasn't the best
Wow had a splendid time! The food was actually really good! The crispy rice was probably the least favorite dish and that's saying a lot!!! Started off with oysters (juicy, fresh, great) 8/10 Crispy rice 6/10 Yellow special: 9/10 Baked crab Handroll: 9/10 Wagyu dumplings 9/10 *** pro tip save the chili oil/ gochujang and dip those baked crab handrolls makes it a 10/10 We ordered all the snappers and Japanese snapper was our favorite. Ordered all the belly's too and that was great. Uni was too oceanic tasting that day Bluefin and toro was aite. We ordered a bunch of stuff and the quality was good! I definitely will be back to try others. Service was slow in the beginning but I think it's because we were hangry. Our server had the entire outside section so I'm sure he was busy. He was personable by the middle of our meal. I liked how he paced out the food! Thank you! I hate when all the food comes at once. Huge pet peeve The heaters outside are a nice touch, booths are comfy and isolated which I like! Pretty cool date night or girls night! Had a great time
After years of living here, I finally tried Wabi, and it was such a delightful surprise! This place has a serene vibe and fantastic service. We tried different rolls like the Philadelphia, California, and the Criss-Cross Lemon Sauce roll, which our waiter recommended--it was perfectly spicy and unique. The outdoor dining area, a perfect setting for a memorable night out with friends, adds to the value of the experience. While Wabi may be considered a bit pricey, the quality of the food and service justifies every penny. Each sushi plate is delicious. The ambiance is delightful, and the sushi is probably the best in the area. It's also a haven for those seeking a combination of refreshing drinks and delectable sushi. I'm eagerly looking forward to my next visit to explore more of their offerings!

Great food, nice ambiance. I went here for lunch on a weekday, so we got a spacious outdoor booth which was very nice. The table was very nice and comfortable. PROS: - Food: Ordered the sashimi platter, scallop nigiri sushi, and spicy tuna roll. All were excellent. I especially enjoyed the scallop nigiri sushi...it was amazing! Price was very reasonable for the quality of the food. - Ambiance/Environment: Clean and nice seating. It is not a big restaurant/venue, but they had enough seating areas. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. - Staff: Friendly. CONS: - There were lots of flies attacking our food, so it got very uncomfortable when the food came. - They did not bring us soy sauce nor wasabi until we were about half way done with our food even though we asked way ahead of time. Overall, great place and location. If you're looking for a place in Venice with good, fresh sushi and sashimi, this is the place! Also really cute interior and instagrammy! read more

One of my new favorite places to get sushi in west LA. From the velvet pink chairs to the gold flecked sushi, I wasn't sure about this place at first, but I'm so glad to be wrong! I loved the food and the vibes! Rubric: Food & Drink (4/5) -Crispy rice: honestly, it was tasty but nothing out of the ordinary. Might be kind of hard to eat considering how tall it was. -Midnight rain roll: This roll was amazingggg. The flavor explosion was out of this world. I'd totally recommend trying this! There's caviar, truffle, and gold flakes on it! -OG Kush: I was pleasantly surprised with how this arrived at the table, but I feel like if they swapped out the cooked salmon with another fish or raw salmon it would've been better. I loved the smokey flavor of it though. -Donut holes: The guava dipping sauce was tart and sweet, perfectly so. The donuts were crunchy on the inside and soft and moist on the inside. The caramel dipping sauce reminded me of caramel apples. -Lychee on Rose: This drink is stunning and I loved the pearl toothpick, the beautiful flower, and rose-print straw it came with! Service (5/5) -Super fast service. The server, Hannah, was very friendly as well! Vibes (5/5) -Pink velvet chairs with pink marble tables, plenty of torches, and lots of outdoor dining. Small shrubbery and foliage lined the outside as well. It feels like nature and modern beauty all in one place. Parking (4/5) -Street parking wasn't hard to find at an off time (weekday dinner), but I'd imagine it'd be a struggle at peak hours. Safety (4/5) -It's on a busy street in Venice, so it was nice having foot traffic. But I remember there was a brief, verbal scuffle on the street between a taxi driver and a biker. It's all part of the Venice experience~ Facilities (4/5) -I like the individual stalls for privacy. The handle for the sink is on the faucet head, something that wasn't super obvious to me from the get go. But all in all, I felt as though a lot of detail went into planning the restaurant. In A Nutshell: -Wabi on Rose is a posh style sushi restaurant w/ lovely decor & food. -I like the way the decorated their outdoor seating arrangement w/ pops of pink mixed in w/ the natural plants. -Their 17 piece sashimi sampler is a good deal $49, you get a nice variety of morsels, enough to share between two lovers. -The miso soup is a nice starter to order. -I think one of the popular items is the crispy rice tuna roll, it's fun to eat the crispy rice w/ the tuna on top. -I wasn't too fond of the bbq sauce on top of the hamachi collar though, so I would probably avoid that. Overall, it's a nice place to go on a date especially in the Venice area. read more

A friend had mentioned Wabi a handful of times and then I was asked on a dinner date here. The guy didn't make the cut, lol but hey so many really don't cut the mustard. However, the mushroom options were delightful and the vege sushi options. All the while you're nestled amongst the flora and fauna on the outdoor patio area. My hair was basically caressed by multiple shrubs. What an enchanting way to spend an evening. Smelling like shrubs, eating tasty little morsels, as cool chandeliers drip from the restaurant ceiling. And all the twinkle lights strung about. I've only ever been here more than once but I'd like to explore more of its menu options. And also it's comfy and cozy and close to home. read more

We had a lot vegetarian in the party but had afew good options to make it work . The Brussels sprouts broccolini miso soup hot peppers were amazing. Floral & Dreamy: My neighbor told me about Wabi on Rose & today, my best friend & I stopped by & shared each dish we ordered for lunch. Decor: What a beautiful place! There were gorgeous colorful flowers everywhere! Everyone was so welcoming; plenty of smiles. The rounded pink plush booths were so pretty & the marble tables quite elegant! What a glamorous place to dine & I enjoyed the scenery immensely! Salmon Burger: In love! The Asian cabbage slaw & honey Gochujang glaze on the burger was everything & more! The salmon was fresh & tender as ever; my immediate favorite! Loved the Japanese milk bread as well! Spicy Tuna & Yellowtail Rolls were delicious as well, including the heartwarming tofu miso soup. Had an amazing time here on a Saturday evening visiting friends. This would be great place to celebrate a birthday or special occasion. The vibe is very hip and cool. The music can be a little loud but a fun ambiance. We were seated outside so got a little more space and we would inside. Service was very fast and friendly despite how busy it was. The food was bomb!! A little pricey but worth it. The cocktails had a Mexican twist. The fish was fresh and the presentation was creative. My sushi had gold flakes which was fun. The dessert was good too. We shared the special marshmallow meringue with rose ice cream center. Very good! read more
I was tired of ordering sushi and having it arrive mediocre. I decided to bite the bullet and order some sushi that's a little pricier. It was worth it! First off it comes in these thick pink cardboard boxes that you could literally use as a jewelry box. It's got gold lettering for the business name and everything. I felt bad tossing them. As for the sushi it was all superb. The Moon roll was special because of the shiso leaf. It brought out a layer of complexity to it. Tiger king was a bit spicy and it had cilantro as a garnish. Rainbow roll has real crab inside. They did not put the sauces on top of the sushi rolls and instead put them on the side. So when it arrived I wasn't sure which sauce went for which roll. We also ordered some beet side dish thing which was very filling. I'd recommend this place again in a heartbeat. The only downside is the price. Everything else is perfect. read more

A place to see and be seen and eat some fresh and expensive sushi, outside on Rose Avenue in Los Angeles. Food and atmosphere-wise a four for us, but the price at $26 average a roll, left me a little gobsmacked when our bill arrived. Light dinner (3 rolls) for two with a single glass of wine just under $200. On the plus side, the fish is fresh. The hamachi starter and their roll with mango, salmon and tuna were delicious. Our hostess, host and server all were LA beautiful, as were the clientele. Tons of outdoor seating & the decor is stylish. It's easy to reserve via OpenTable. On the downside, service was slow, and prices on rolls were double average sushi prices ($26 per roll.) The miso soup and the popular moon roll lacked flavor. The week we ate here, the Delta variant had LA mandate masking at all businesses & the restaurants we went to did just that, but it was inconsistent here. Both our hosts & the waitstaff (except the busboys) were unmasked. Wabi on Rose feels like a beautiful bar with food. It's a gorgeous place but with some pretending there is no actual pandemic going on, it can make for an odd dining experience. read more
Walking down Rose and decided to stop in for a drink. Had the wabi spicy rita, which was nice, not too sweet, good flavor with a nice kick. The tuna on crispy rice hit the spot - I liked that the rice was cooked longer than most places that serve this so it was really crispy. The espresso martini seemed to be popular so we couldn't leave without trying it - it was really good! The bartender was really nice and helpful with the menu and made really great drinks. The bar area was nice and clean. The restaurant had patterned wallpaper and nice decor but not overwhelming. Nice date spot or outing with the girls. read more

Really loved this place! We came in for lunch sat outside in the patio. The decor and esthetics were so cute. We ordered the spicy tuna crispy rice which I high recommend, we got Brussel sprouts, a salmon cut roll, a shrimp tempura cut roll and 2 speciality rolls. Not sure exactly what sushi rolls we ordered but everything was super delicious and fresh! Would definitely come back! read more
Rad, impressive, sushi! MOON ROLL !!! The staff here is incredibly friendly and disarming. We felt very welcomed! We started with the Miso soup which was suuuper tasty but also a little more salty than expected. Great portions/bang for your buck! The oysters and Moon Roll were definitely the taste highlights. Moon roll was like a flavor explosion in my mouth with a satisfying crunch of carrot! King salmon roll was extra fresh with big chunks of fish. This is a great spot to show off the atmosphere. I came here with my roommates on a Saturday night, we easily got a reservation for 7 and easily got a cute table outside when we got there! The restaurant itself is so so cute, very instagram ready. They have some very nice booths with heat lamps as well. The staff was all nice and considerate. We all absolutely loved our drinks, I got the Uggs on the beach which was so flavorful and I would absolutely order it again. For food we got the crispy rice, chili garlic edamame, tiger roll, and the puck ya roll. The crispy rice was super good, it had a little bit of wasabi underneath, so good. The only thing I would change is the rice was just a little bit too sweet somehow. The chili garlic edamame was so so good, genuinely one of my favorite sauces for edamame. We were all obsessed in the tiger king roll, by far our favorite out of all the food we tried, just such an amazing flavor combo! Not authentic sushi and fish was average, but cocktails were great so I'll bump to a 4. Crispy Rice 2.0: The blue crab was a little salty, but the rice was really good. Sushi Plate (11 pieces): The freshest pieces of fish, and the portions were kinda small. I would say skip! Edamame Chili Garlic: Really good and spicy. Oyster Dozen: Fresh! Seared Toro: A bit of a disappointment. This was super thinly sliced, Toro should of been thicker and not seared. Also they put gold leaf onto the fish, not sure what exactly it did to enhance the flavor really. Just added a metallic flavor to the fish which wasn't that good. Matador - Good. Rick James - Not my favorite roll, tasted like too much was going on. Key lime pie - I wish it was more tart and limey, but the mousse was light and sweet and the crust on the bottom was crunchy. Service was excellent that day our waiter was attentive and ambiance is really good if you want to take instagram pics at this place. read more

For starters this review did not come lightly. I was excited to try this place and it just fell extremely short. Let's start with ambiance; It's cozy and cute. Floral esthetic with a luxurious undertone. Great for meeting coworkers for a drink or a date night. Drinks underwhelming. Between my partner and I we tried two different drinks each and we felt that they just missed the mark. Mixology prices without the careful concoction. They looked good but tasted unharmonized. Better off ordering something from a bottle or a go to well drink. I don't owe that to the bartender rather the actual recipes simply just weren't good. Ok on to the food....... Appetizers include crispy rice: the rice was so crispy it almost broke a tooth. So bad. Wagyu potstickers-unseasoned had we not dumped soy sauce they would otherwise would have been flavorless. Sushi- ordered a few rolls: all of the sushi didn't taste super fresh. 24golden roll- austentacious without flavor and The Rick James roll-the highlight of the night! But in a basic way. Because this tasted the most decent, well we ordered a second since it was half decent. I hadn't been to a place that completely missed the mark all the way through for almost a 300 price check. They curated their menu so far down as some items weren't available as previously. Dine at your own risk. read more
Super fun ambiance and aesthetic. Good time here with friends and is very much an LA vibe. I was impressed with their California roll with real crab instead of imitation crab, really delicious. At the price we paid, I expected a bit better quality of raw fish for nigiri. Specialty rolls are better and more worth it than the raw fish nigiri. read more
Sushi, like wine for me... is something I'm not an expert at, but when I have something good I know it. Wabi is some of the best sushi I've had. I don't think you can order wrong here - food or drinks. *COVID Review - March 2021* After months of no indoor/outdoor dining, having the opportunity to dine out is awesome. Boyfriend found this spot on Yelp and the beautiful plating caught our eyes. Even though it was a Sunday morning, we were able to secure a reservation fairly easily. They have outdoor dining area both by the sidewalk, and in front of the restaurant. I was lucky and was able to get a table closer to the restaurant. Sorry folks, I just don't like having people standing or walking next to me while I am trying to eat my food. Service was great, even though waitress forgot about our Oysters add-on. Dishes were beautiful, but prices not so much. Ordered 4 items for lunch: - Sashimi Plate - Sushi Plate - Crispy Rice 2.0 - 1/2 dozen Oysters And the tab was roughly $150 with tips. The ambiance was lovely, but it was definitely overpriced. Fish and Oysters were fresh, but quality far from par. Nice spot to go on a date or catch up with a few close friends, but this was a Meh for me. read more

I couldn't wait for the pandemic to be over so that I could make my way back to Wabi on Rose! I just love their sushi and crispy rice with spicy tuna. Although everything on the menu is is a hit, the drinks are my favorite here. I just love a good presentation. I never order just a drink and mixer, I always look for the cocktail menu. & the cocktail menu here is long and lovely. Close your eyes, point to a drink, order it, and don't worry. Be Happy! CHEERS!! P.S. the best thing going during and shortly after the pandemic was to-go drinks. I wish we always did this. read more

Wabi on rose is one of the best dine in spots I've been to in a while! The food here is very good, the fish is excellent quality and service is phenomenal. All the staff here is very attentive and made sure we had a good experience. There is outdoor+ indoor seating. When I came, we were sat outdoors and it did drizzle a little, but the staff offered to move us inside and apologized for weather (even though it is out of their control). We decided to stay outside bc the little bit of rain didn't bother us and their outdoor heaters work very well. I would highly recommend ordering the spicy tuna crispy rice, the AVA, the sushi plate, and the sunburn roll. A fun order option would be the Puck You because of the presentation. The taste was good but let it sit for a few minutes before you start eating bc it can have a lingering smoky taste. For dessert, I recommend Ella's best chocolate chunk cookie and the orange ricotta doughnut holes. Both tastes super good- even the doughnut holes and I'm not even a huge fan of doughnuts. The dipping sauce that came with it was good. The cookie had a dark chocolate taste to it and the salt that came on it paired well. Overall, our experience was 10/10 and I would love to come back again in the future. read more
Wabi has some of the best sushi I have ever had. I loved that their menu isn't massive and overwhelming but still has a great amount of options. Their drinks are fun and if there isn't something that sounds appealing, they'll make you something to match your tastes. Drinks we tried: wabi spicy rita, lychee on rose (my favorite), LaLaLemon, Cabernet, and a sweet/gin bartender concoction. For food we tried: miso soup, crispy rice, crispy rice 2.0, scallop shared plate, baked crap hand roll, Tiger King, OG Kush, Rick James, Midnight Rain, Greanie, California rolls, tuna sashimi and tenderloin skewers. The rolls and sashimi were incredible as were the skewers. The crispy rice was good and so were the scallops but the rolls were really the stars of the show. The service was excellent. Food comes out as the chef prepares it instead of all at once which is nice. The decor is lovely. Their to go boxes are fabulous. Overall it's just a really great experience from start to finish. We spent about $450 with tip for 5 people so it's pricy but absolutely worth it for a night out! read more

do you want to impresss your date , friend or fam with an amazing dinner or lunch COME TO WABI on Rose . My bf and I went on a Monday (w/ reservations) at 2 and it was perfect since the outdoor patio was empty but one couple. A intimate spot with delicious sushi. We ordered a few items not pictured. The service was also great, host & our waiter ( great guy, forgot his name) was friendly always had a smile on his face which was very welcoming. The host was extremely sweet - she complimented me. The food was phenomenal. All raw fish was fresh! We also ordered the OG Kush - an experience. Waiter delivers the roll under a glass topper where smoke is released as the waiter removed the topper. Smoky flavor but Noh overbearing. The crispy rise also AMAZING ; mouth is watering just thinking about it lol I will definitely be back!!! read more
The perfect place for a date night or celebration! Wabi on Rose is a go to for higher end sushi. With additions to their rolls like truffle oil and gold flakes, you know it's going to be good.
