    Monster Roll
    Siobhan L.

This weekend we went to Wabi Sabi Sushi When we arrived there was a sign that said they were doing takeout only I'm not a huge fan of takeout so right off the bat I wasn't impressed. They had bento boxes on their menu, so you could order sushi and it came with miso soup, a salad, and choice of appetizer. My daughter got a classic bento with shrimp tempura roll and I got a supreme bento with a crunchy roll. My son got orange chicken with fried rice and miso soup My husband got orange chicken with steamed rice, along with a monster roll and the heart attack appetizer. I am not a sushi person at all, but it was okay (Kroger is still better though ). The orange chicken and rice was NOT good. Overall, it was just okay, wouldn't go back

Super Dry and flavorless Fried rice

This place used to be good years ago when I first came. Haven't been back in awhile and ordered their chicken and tofu fried rice on Uber Eats. It was awful, could barely eat it. The entire dish was dry and no flavor at all. The chicken was super dry. They definitely over cooked it. I even added my own soy sauce, black pepper and green onions. Still didn't help at all. You can clearly see from the pictures how dry the meat is

Vegetable tempura: two onions, two sweet potatoes, two asparagus. Lame.

Vegetable tempura was two giant onion rings, two giant pieces of sweet potato, and two pieces of asapragus. That's pretty lame to double only three vegetables. Was there nothing else in the kitchen? Broccoli, carrot, peppers, something? Eel roll was mostly the California roll with a looot of sauce and very little unagi. Spicy salmon roll had big pieces of fish, but tasted "off." And I do not claim to have a good palate, I will eat grocery store stuff if I am hungry, so if I think sushi fish tastes off, that is really saying something. Plus... they didn't have any yellowtail. A sushi place had. No. Yellowtail. Let that sink in. Service was okay. She was nice enough, but she was also on her own, so everything was a bit slow. And they were only about 20-25% full for the entirety of the lunch rush. Bad sign right there. Paid $70 for two people for lunch. Not even a little bit remotely worth it. All in all, incredibly disappointing. Maybe this place used to be better pre-pandemic. Maybe this bad visit was a fluke. Not going back to find out.

My husband is so happy that Wabi is back to serving the chicken karrage! When we visited over a month ago they weren't. So today we ordered ours for pickup, which it send me you to a third-party site to place the order called Zing. They charge a small fee, not bad at all. We are always so pleased with the quality of food they serve here! And the employees are always smiling. I do hope to dine in with them again very soon. Anyway, another yummy meal! Thanks y'all!

We always order to go, so I can't review how dine in service is but the sushi is always super yummy and fresh. This is our favorite sushi spot and we've tried almost all of them in our local areas. I love all the ginger they include. You must try the Geisha roll!!

Stayed in nearby hotel and wanted sushi. Wabi Sabi was great and 3 min drive. Exceptional service, ordered one draft beer and since they were out, waitress suggested another Japanese draft beer and comped the pint sample. I enjoyed it and ordered more, unbelievable happy hour specials on weekends! .Monkey brains were different, tasty and filling. We'd order again. Fort Worth roll was worth a try, though wasabi sauce was a bit spicy for me. Stir fry Udon was first time try for wife and she enjoyed it. Hot plate order of chicken teriyaki was super good and daughter is often picky. I recommend eatery with great food.

This weekend, my family and I, we tried Wabi Sabi for the first time. I had read on a FB group about this place. They rave on how delish it was and WOW! We were impressed. They open at 4pm, Saturday's and showed up at 4pm. Our waitress, Savanna, was very nice, helpful and patient. Our favorites: Ebi Ebi. Fort Worth. We will most definitely come back soon. BEST sushi we've had since we moved to Fort Worth.

Such a solid place if you're looking to get rolls! They had a big variety of cooked, raw, and fried ones to choose from at reasonable prices. Their basic rolls, such as an eel roll and salmon skin roll were also inexpensive. Forewarning though, those two latter rolls have imitation crab in them which I didn't expect. It made the pieces a big bite full, which I didn't mind. Their happy house menu looks good, and I'll definitely be trying that when I return!

Visited Wabi Sabi Sabi with my mother in law for lunch yesterday. We were the first in for the lunch service and promptly seated wherever we wanted. Based on the sign walking in, it would appear they're short staffed which was evident when other patrons started coming in and I never saw more than our waitress tending to the other tables. But on that note she seemed to manage and keep up with things well. She was prompt when needed to refill our glasses, ask how our meal was, and delivering the check when asked. Now on to the menu - this is a more expensive sushi place and that includes higher prices on even basic rolls. Based on the prices I had a certain level of expectation for the quality of the sushi to be served. They did have a very good selection and variety of rolls and sushi options to choose from. Since we were sharing our rolls, our sushi came out all on one plate. Our waitress even remembered my ponzu sauce (something that I typically have to remind servers for when the food is brought to the table - so that was a nice change of pace)! The Yellowtail Roll was fresh! I consider myself a connoisseur for this roll because I order it wherever I go and I prefer it served with scallions which it is not done here but the quality of the fish was great. My mother in law ordered the Spider Roll and she enjoyed it. We shared the 911 Roll and it was great! For being a deep fried roll the batter was thin so it wasn't overly crunchy which I do prefer. The spicy tuna inside was good as well! Overall we had a good lunchtime experience and spent $30 including tip for the three rolls which was average for lunch for two people not ordering any speciality rolls. We might make it back out for a repeat visit in the future!

Monster sushi was no joke! This is compared to the Ft Worth. Very good. Will be back

Food was great. Service was good. Only had one sushi chef and server but they were still on top of it.

Hands down Wabi Sabi is one of THE BEST sushi restaurants I've ever visited. When we walked in it was nice and quiet and maybe one one or two other sets of diners there. The staff at WS was super nice and patient for the most part. It took my hubbs and I a lil while to figure out what we wanted and the young lady who was serving us was very patient. Well, when we first ordered our rolls we fully expected to have lil rolls as most sushi restaurants tend to have. We were so surprised to see each one of our rolls and app (spicy edamame, baked salmon, Oshi, and I forgot the 2 I ordered), they were really beefed up. I had never seen rolls so big. The flavor of the rolls were really good as well. I believe three of our rolls were raw and 1 cooked honestly the flavors and the sauces on the rolls were delic! if you're on the fence and want to try a new sushi joint, definitely try WS. You wont regret it!

We ordered a lot of food, and not a lot of it was good. I feel like I just didn't have a taste for sushi.

We walked into a space centered around sitting at the bar and watching the chefs prepare each hand roll in front of us, which gave the meal a more personal feel compared to a traditional sushi restaurant. The setup is smaller and more intimate, making the experience feel closer to a sushi bar rather than a casual meal spot. The biggest highlight is the quality of the fish and the hand rolls themselves. The seafood tastes fresh, clean, and carefully prepared, with options like salmon belly, otoro, kanpachi, and crab hand rolls standing out. We ordered a few different rolls and found each one well executed, with the fish having a clean, bright flavor that did not rely on heavy sauces or toppings. Each roll is made individually, so the nori stays crisp and the textures come through better than pre-made sushi. The menu has a good balance of classic choices and more creative combinations, making it easy to try different flavors throughout the meal. The chef interaction adds another layer to the visit. Since everything is prepared right in front of you, we could see the attention put into each piece, from assembling the ingredients to serving it at the right moment. The chefs were precise in their movements and took the time to explain the different fish and flavor profiles, which made the meal feel more like an experience rather than just ordering sushi off a menu. One thing to plan for is the wait. Hatsuyuki does not take reservations, and the popularity means there can be a significant line during busy hours. We arrived earlier and found it helped us avoid a longer wait. Seating is limited, but that also helps maintain the quality and atmosphere of the restaurant. The intimate size of the bar means the service stays focused and the pacing remains personal, even when the restaurant is full. Hatsuyuki Handroll Bar is one of the stronger sushi experiences in the area for anyone who enjoys fresh seafood and a more curated dining style. The wait can be a downside, but the quality of the fish, chef preparation, and overall atmosphere make it worth visiting, especially if you are looking for something beyond standard sushi rolls. The focus on craftsmanship and the personal interaction with the chefs elevate the meal into something more memorable than a typical sushi stop.

We ended up waiting about an hour and a half, even though we noticed other people arriving after us and getting seated right away while we were still waiting. That felt pretty uncalled for, especially since other guests who arrived after us were seated first, and a few other couples agreed. That being said, the sushi was delicious, and the service was very attentive and friendly. I just wish the seating process had been handled better.

Pros: Peter, the owner and chef, greeted our table and told us his sushi specials, which are flown in special from Tokyo every Friday so they change weekly. We had the o-toro, chu-toro, aji, and fluke, and all were amazing quality and you got a lot of fish for the price. They have a lot of sushi combos and platters to service a variety of sizes of parties. We had the sushi combo which was plenty of fish, especially with the cut sizes. Wait staff was very attentive and helpful with the menu. Cons: the entrance is a little off putting but you shouldn't let that deter you. the french menu was lacking in my opinion. There is only one page of options, and we ended up not ordering anything french since the japanese was so appealing. I would've liked to see some seafood or more small plates.
