I will drive across the river though to Amy's for all of my live seafood as their prices can't be beat. I have been here for blue crabs, shrimp, and crawfish and truly enjoy the quality of their seafood. All of their employees are super nice and handle your order quickly. So I took a seat and patiently waited for my name to be call. Started paying attention to other patrons who were dining in and waiting for their food. Each table had people sitting down and having casual conversation. I counted about 21 people including myself. The atmosphere was pleasant but it was not giving. They had music playing from station 107.5. I'm a stickler for sanitation and it's the little things that matter....dipping cups in an ice machine vice using a ice scooper, wearing gloves particularly when servicing food to those dining in and not using a tray bring out food. Simply doing too much to not be consistently washing hands. Same person taking away soiled trays is bringing out food. One customer had to ask for utensils for his Togo orders as he didn't have any. A second customer just got her Togo order and had to ask for utensils as well. We've been here many times over the years, but it had been a while since our last visit. We started with the crawfish beignets and spinach & artichoke dip--both were delicious! I especially love the tortillas they serve with the dip, along with salsa and sour cream. For our entrées, my husband had the redfish topped with crab meat, my daughter had the 12-oz steak frites, and I had the seared scallops with green beans. Everything was good overall, and my daughter especially loved her steak. Each entrée also came with a small salad with a light dressing and a couple of marinated olives, which I really enjoyed. The one disappointment was the lentils that now come with the redfish. My husband remembered the dish coming with potatoes, which he preferred. I tried the lentils too, and neither of us was a fan. The restaurant was packed, but we only waited about seven minutes to be seated, and the lively atmosphere didn't bother us at all. Our server was friendly and attentive despite how busy it was. My biggest takeaway, though, was the price increase. Many entrées are now $35-$40+, and by the end of dinner, we realized we had spent quite a bit for three people--enough to make us think we could have eaten at a higher-end restaurant for the same price.
