The breakfast was really good. I had steak and eggs. With a waffle, it was hot and fresh had an ate at a waffle house in a long time

Kayla at the Waffle House on 290 @182 in Austin was the friendliest, most efficient server I've had in a long time. We were there the morning after my son's high school graduation (at his request -- he's never been to a Waffle House) with aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandma, and Kayla made the whole experience so special! Thank you, Kayla!!

Breakfast is better in the evening in combination with good service, and delicious food. The restaurant is open 24 hrs that has a seasoned grill. I had the 2 egg combo and waffles. You can't go wrong with a late breakfast.

I love Waffle House. It's my favorite southern greasy spoon that's also a chain. Once you're seated, the service is usually very quick. This location in particular though has recently been VERY busy on weekends - parking lot is not big enough for the number of people waiting and the waitlist gets pretty long.

This is my third state having Waffle House (Georgia, Louisiana and now, Texas). I had a wonderful experience here just like the others. It was very crowded upon entering, but the wait time was short. The food came out and it was equally as good as my other previous visits. The staff was friendly and I'm glad I got to come before I headed back home to NY. The only potential downside was they drowned my grits with butter and didn't have wheat toast, however, it wasn't that big of a deal.

I don't understand the hype. The restaurant is dirty, food is okay, pancakes were very disappointing, and service could improve.

Creeks is the restaurant in the lobby of that circular Hilton you see at Bergstrom Airport…read more Have you ever driven by that circular buidling and ever wondered what it is like inside? I did that like from the first week I moved to Austin. It was an Air Force HQ at the time. Going inside was always on my bucket list. To write this review, I did just that. The Circular Hilton looks just as cool inside as you think it would. And Creeks restaurant in the dead center of the circle is a fine place. But now that that is out of my system I don't have to go back again. * * * There is some serious architecture inside the Airport Hilton. This will appeal to people like me who love designs in structural steel. (Think about what the Eiffel Tower looks like as you go up the stairs.) In this case, the design touch is single steel pillars turning into quadruple steel columnar pillars holding up a large glass dome with steel divisions between the panes. The visual effect is breathtaking. The visual effect would be even more breathtaking If there were not a stupid hotel bar in the middle of the atrium with a lot of Sports TVs that block 2/3 of the view. But the Hilton people have to actually run a hotel. The overwhelming majority of their customers want to order drinks at the bar, eat a snack or a meal and watch Sports TV. Very few of them want to go hungry while staring up at structural steel in meditative contemplation. My best attempts at meditative contemplation fell woefully short ... So I just tossed in the towel and watched Sports TV. It was an afternoon in the middle of the week so a bunch of talking heads were giving their opinion on a variety of NBA players. Well, they were emotional enough to be entertaining. Some of the video clips were okay. * * * Foodwise, Creeks is not too bad. It is hotel food at hotel prices. I am not sure how well they are set up for kitchen space. (Although most hotels do a lot of catering.) The menu is kept manage-ably small. The prices for the food were slightly high but not disturbingly high. (Foreshadowing ........ I did however have to park my car. You can guess where this review is going to go.) I ordered a plate of nachos. The bar nachos were decent. To justify the mark-up, they were served in a long narrow canoe-like serving dish. The graphic was appealing. The quantity was more than enough for lunch. Even with the large bar-kiosk in the center of the floor, I could still see a good quarter of the roof. So there were things to see when I would get bored with basketball chatter. * * * Remember this is the airport. I had to drive through a gate and get a ticket in order to enter the hotel parking lot. The staff explained that the gate wouldn't be an issue and I could just push a button to get out. Well, maybe I did things wrong. But going to the gate I found that it was going to cost me an extra $12 to get out of the parking lot. That on top of the hotel prices on the nachos. So this was not a cheap outing. * * * The inside of the Airport Hilton is still something to see. The food they serve in the atrium is not too bad. Ride your bike to the Hilton, walk from your house to the Hilton, or take the Hilton limo from the terminal if your flight to Austin has just landed. Driving there and parking is only for people who really really really love lobby-gazing.

The sourdough pizza was really good--almost like a focaccia/Detroit-style hybrid, but with the sauce layered on the bottom. Super flavorful, crispy edges, soft inside... honestly just hit. The building is quite large and inside is cool as the seating is quite spacious and a large number of people can enjoy food and drink at once. Definitely not a tiny, small placed brewery...but it's true... everything is bigger in Texas! When we were at Pinthouse I spotted a Mexican Lager which is a type of lager I love and especially in warm weather... a perfect summer beer for me! The name of the beer was Burro's Breakfast. In the flavor profile of this beer you will find a naturally sweet corn flavor, some maltiness along with a tart and dry finish. The beer is light bodied like most lagers of this type and smooth in body. In addition to having a beer we also decided to get some lunch. So we got a chicken sandwich a piece along with coleslaw and had a very nice lunch. Coming to Pinthouse Brewing proved to be a good stop as we made a pretty extensive tour of the breweries in Austin.

The standout was the beignet tray. The mini beignets came topped with powdered sugar and were served with a coffee glaze for dipping. They were small, warm, and delicious, with crispy edges and soft centers. This was easily the highlight of the meal and the dish I would come back for. To balance out the sweetness, I also ordered an egg-and-cheese taco on a corn tortilla with salsa. It was simple, but it did the job. My boyfriend ordered avocado toast and an iced coffee, and everything fit the casual brunch vibe. The atmosphere was chill, and parking validation was a plus. One thing to know before going is that the seating process is a little unusual: you order at the front first, then find a table. We arrived before the line grew and had no issue getting seated, but I could see this being stressful if the restaurant is crowded and tables are limited. Overall, Dish Society is a solid brunch spot on SoCo with a relaxed feel!

So picture it, I've just been told I've been put on standby for my trip across the pond and come back in 45 minutes to check the status. And now I'm annoyed and very hungry, and have low expectations for everything at that point. My mood lifts a little when I find a place that has breakfast for dinner options. The restaurant is busy but we are seated immediately in a comfy booth in the back. I order the breakfast burger and my travel companion orders the breakfast sandwich off the QR code menu. Which is actually very convenient since we are in a bit of a hurry. A server drops off waters and checks in to see if we need any condiments. Friendly and welcoming vibes. Our food is made to order but the menu is small so it comes up quick. My breakfast burger looks good and tastes even better. Nicely grilled buttered brioche bun, perfectly cooked egg, medium burger that's all juicy and bacon flavor from I think a jam is really nice as well. And the side of breakfast potatoes is perfect. Fried crispy but not greasy and a very generous portion. For the price in an airport, I couldn't have asked for a better comfort meal. My friend really enjoyed her breakfast sandwich but low key regretted not ordering my breakfast burger. That's okay she finished mine because I ran off to check my flight status, haha. And I did get on the flight but sadly my luggage did not, but that's a whole other review for later. So if you need comfort food try the breakfast options for a quality meal and decent price before your flight. It made a stressful time bearable.
