Literally the worst place I've ever been to we walked in and every single table was filthy with dishes and trash . We got a seated . The waitress came after a while took our order then came back 15 min later and said the cook stepped out of the kitchen . While waiting she offered us a waffle. That's probably the only positive thing I have to say about this establishment. While sitting waiting for the rest of our meal a man and his son walked it with a speech and hearing impediment. The staff immediately started laughing and making jokes about them and got confrontational when he asked for a table to be cleared off . All while all the employees were standing behind the counter just laughed and talking not doing anything to clean the place up . We finally got our food after waiting 45 minutes everything was made wrong over cooked burnt l not cooked through also everything was drenched in grease our waitress was. the only polite person on staff she took our food back and agreed to remake everything but as that was happening the Hispanic looking dish washer girl with brown hair and highlights begin to get in a fight with other guest calling him racist and offensive names . At that point we had enough with the disrespect the staff had toward customers. Unprofessional and ghetto is what this place is . Will never be back . One star is giving way to much credit and shouldn't even be a option. read more

Okay we really, REALLY need this chain out in California. Every time I have business travel in Austin I make it a point to make sure I stop by one of these and since this one is about 5 mins from Austin-Bergstrom Airport its easy enough to stop there on your way out or back from your flight. And when you stop by just be prepared for some good old fashioned cook to order breakfast items and of course the best part: open 24 hours a day! I am all about choices so when I order something it usually comes with about 10 caveats or modifications. I know this is a pain in the ass and most waiters and waitresses probably hate me but I always overtip so I think this is a decent trade off. So my point is you can customize the hell out of your breakfast carb-fest in pretty much anyway you want and the waitress is happy to oblige although you may get razzed about some choices by the cook as he prepares your food so I highly recommend sitting at the bar for the full experience. My usual is the All Star with screambled egg whites only + one more egg, 2 extra crispy bacon strips, 2 sausage links, hashbrowns COUNTRY(covered with white gravy), sourdough toast, orange juice and waffle with maple syrup and a scoop of peanut butter. Death on a plate. Delicious, sweet and savory death. Since this is the Waffle house of course the fresh made to order waffles are the stars here. The waffles are made very thin but over a larger surface area with many smaller divots for the butter and syrup to sit in. This make it so that the ratio of butter and syrup for each bite of waffle is just about perfect and never too soggy. Just make sure you dont skip the waffle okay? Just think Der Waffle House from "Dead Like Me" If you ever got hungry watching the reapers chow down on awesome breakfast items this is the place for you. read more

Wait was ridiculously long. The workers were so rude!! The kitchen was disgusting and the waiters were cleaning silverware with the same towels they were cleaning tables with. We asked for plastic utensils and our waiter caught an attitude! Our glasses were nasty and had stuff floating in them. Overall I was so disappointed. We came in and were asked by Samantha if we were ordering to go or eating in, so we asked how long the wait for a table would be. Samantha responded with "I can't tell you I have no idea" so we told her no worries, we'd just order to go. She proceeded to walk away and say nothing else, so we stood there for about 5 minutes until Porsha came up and greeted us politely, explained the menu was a code we would need to scan with our phone and then let us know we could order whenever we were ready. We came back up to the counter where it was Samantha standing there once again, and she asked us if we were paying our check. We said "no, we would like to place an order to go" she looked up at us and once again, Samantha walked away without saying a word. That is when Porsha came back, took our order and said she would even bring our food out to us once it was ready. My husband and I both work in the hospitality industry, and were blown away by how rude and inconsiderate Samanthas attitude was, with a title of "salesman" on her name tag. If your not from the "SOUTH" or never eaten at the "Waffle House", you can't imagine how or why some people are crazy for this place. First you have to been eating here since you were a kid or for at least two decades. Then you have to understand this isn't the other places, where it's cut and dry service or whom you'll be seating next too. Sometimes starting out, eating at Waffle House could be by default cause the lines and wait at the other breakfast places are too long. You try it again and you start to realize not only the food is better but you are also entertain by watching the cooks cook or how the waitresses are getting along with each other. they also might try to include you into the conversation. Now the service might not be "Chick Fil A" level, but you can't go into everywhere expecting to be worship and kissing up to you. I know the quality isn't super great at Waffle House, but that's what makes it great. The simplicity and step up from your average continental hotel offerings. Their soft waffles with lobs of butter, scrambled eggs, and mediocre hamburger. Their hash browns are my favorite, adding stuff to your hash brown isn't an old practice and not hard to do. But, Waffle House makes it awesome; offering smothered, covered, and chopped! The fulfillment comes best after a long night of libation consumption and knowing you didn't spend an arm and a leg on some eggs and toast. Not to mention the staff are amazing and friendly. Walked in, there was no wait. Took 45 minutes for 2 people to get a basic Allstar breakfast no waffles, one drink each with no refills. After reading many reviews online, I was reluctant to go to Waffle House. Whenever I used to drive to and from the airport (primarily) I used to always wonder how it was going to be. Now I can put that wonder to rest. As soon as we walk in, we see that it is packed, yet we find a table to the left. Both seats are facing the kitchen part of the diner (facing forward) ..not the typical seats where they face each other. Menus were already laid out on the table for us - I noticed that there weren't too many selections to choose from. Since I was tired, I knew I was going to get coffee. Coffee came, was very cold very fast. I asked for another coffee and the waitress took forever to bring out another mug. This time the temperature was hot. When she took my previous mug away, she took my spoon away with it. I used my knife - no biggie. I didn't have any more creamers, so I had to ask for more of them. No splenda, so I had to use regular coffee. Not very good for someone who needs to have a sweetener instead of sugar. Food came out, it was okay at best. I thought that since the name of the place is Waffle House, they probably specialized in waffles, right? Wrong! I could easily make those little waffles using a 19 dollar machine from walmart. Nothing special about those waffles at all. We asked about the buttermilk waffles while we were ordering. According to the menu, they seemed like a better choice however, the waitress said that the regular ones were better. Very conflicting information. Since I was tired and wanted my waffles, I let it slide without any fuss. Hash browns were good too, not oily at all. I actually liked them quite a bit! Eggs were done just right. Let's begin with me making an online order. I made my order about 1:50 p.m. and they're supposed to be ready to be picked up around 202 p.m. when I got there they said that my food will be ready shortly. Not to mention that I got there at 2:05 p.m. after me sitting there for about 15 minutes they finally got started making my food and then after they finished they gave me my food and I went to the car something said check the food and of course the order was wrong I went back in and show the guy who cooked the food what I ordered online he saw the order it was like okay he's going to remake it. After remaking the food it is now 2:38 p.m. a whole 36 minutes after time frame with my food was supposed to be ready and guess what he made it wrong again like I don't know if waffle House just stop selling chili but I ordered chili on my hash browns at this point I just take the food and left because I had other stuff to do and I can see there was a lot of tensions going on between the workers that was working there my thing is if you don't want to be at work don't work there and make the customers day miserable read more

This WH used to be awesome. Finally convinced a buddy of mine whom doesn't do 'corporate restaurants' to come eat breakfast with me at this location as I've had previous good experiences. Get there at 1pm, walk in and the woman behind the counter yells "WE CLOSED." Uhh, ma'am, your sign clearly states 24/7... another server explains that they are closed that day from 1-2pm to clean... okay, maybe pandemic cleaning... I can appreciate that. We have two young children in tow that are hell bent on getting waffles... so, we kill time running an errand and come back at 10 'till 2 and wait in the car... walk up at 2pm and the SAME WOMAN yells "WE STILL CLOSED!". WTF? The other lady explains that 'the second shift hasn't shown up and we're not working for them'.... piss poor management (or lack thereof). I guarantee every one of those employees was on the clock. When I asked when they would FOR SURE be back open, the guy at the door tells us 'not my problem'. Mmk, not coming back. read more

We had breakfast at the waffle house in Roanoke and and they did not practice any safe distancing since they told us to sit where ever we like and there was other people in booths next to each each other. One of the waitresses only had her face mask over her mouth/not the nose. The cook had his off most of the time. Now about the food: Hash browns were very greasy, eggs were OK, Bacon was very smokey and salty. After we seen how the place was operated and a few tastes of the food, my wife didn't eat more than a few bites and I did eat most but not all of mine and I wish I had not eaten it because I had a stomach ache the rest of our trip back home and my wife had to drive. What did you expect? Ha. Came into town on a midnight flight. This was one of the only places open near our hotel at 1am. Food = meh, but again, 1am what do you expect. Edible and basic. Service = Not bad! Quick service, food came out quick, friendly enough. Ambiance = its like a dive... but "what do you expect" haha. If you are looking for late night, cheap food. I went with the All Star (idk why anyone gets anything else such a great deal) Fresh waffle, great sausage, and perfectly cooked grits and eggs.
