I pulled into the parking lot at just before 5am which is before it all starts to get busy and I got to choose the cleanest table against the back. The crew was mostly doing their cleanup routines so it wasn't more than a minute before my waitress took my order, brought coffee and not four minutes later, my breakfast was served. They're not that quick at McDonald's! My hash brown bowl with ham and eggs and cheese was cooked properly and there was plenty of it. It's hard not to enjoy this when they do it right. For a Waffle House it was what you would expect. It was not super crowded and the service was fast. The prices are always cheap and the food is always tasty. I had the WH special. It came with eggs, a meat, toast, grits, and waffle. There was a 50 cent surcharge on eggs due to the bird flu but even with that the mean was still only 12 per person. Waffle House never fails. They are consistent with their food. It's delicious, and always reliable. I don't care what you say or where you go, their cheese and eggs is by far the absolute best I've ever had at a restaurant, or even at home. I don't know what they do, but whatever they're doing... Waffle was not very good and it's called the Waffle House. Bacon was fatty. Our server never brought the syrup. Had to ask another and it was dripping with syrup. I've never been to a restaurant where they poured soapy water all over the floor behind the counter and in front of the cooking station. Seemed very odd to me. Another great experience at the Waffle House. This one is conveniently located on E Market Street. It has its own parking lot with plenty of spaces. The building and the inside definitely need an upgrade. The hostess was very nice. Our waitress Kay was top tier. Always checking on us and kept going the extra mile. The entire staff worked great together. Just listening and watching you could see they enjoyed their jobs and worked as a team. The food was outstanding. I tried a few different things. Obviously, a waffle. Fantastic batter makes it light and tasty. The hash browns with jalapeños were crispy and had a little kick. The biscuits with sausage gravy were soft and light. I took some over the leftover gravy and added it to a few forkfuls of the hash browns. Had a bite of the Texas city ham melt. I would have definitely got one of my own if I knew how good it tasted. She was patient as we decided what to order, and she checked on us frequently to make sure everything was good. Everything was cooked to perfection. I am a regular customer at this location. I came in this morning 10/27/25. The server that waited on me couldn't care less about her job. The cook needs to be restrained. I ordered an order of bacon cooked light and an order of hashbrowns smothered and chucked. The first order came to me covered in cheese and bacon that I could have chiseled brick with. The server reordered the food. The hash browns came back nowhere near well done like I ordered abd the bacon was still overcooked. I ate it and dealt with it. I didn't have ti.e for a 3rd order. I knew I should have walked back out the door when I realized that my usual server wasn't working. This store has gone down hill. I strongly recommend d the Staunton store unless Brandy is working here first shift. I love waffle house and I don't want to love it. From the outside it looks sus and worn down a bit, like a well loved item-which I guess it is. You go inside and it's no frills. Get in where you fit in and a waitress/waiter will be with ya in a sec. So you chill and the floor and menu might be a bit sticky but you stay and your served a delicious warm buttery waffle and some sub par tasting coffee that perks you right up. Founded all the way back in 1955, this venue really brings out that 80-90s vibe. It would be wrong to compare this place to IHOP because the food here is that much better. I'm not sure if it's just the one in Harrisonburg, but it's pretty small. Probably the size of an apartment? I'm willing to bet that there's long waiting times for brunch on weekends. You can't go wrong with their All-Star Special. It has the complete breakfast essentials. Sunny-side up eggs, sausage, raisin toast, hash browns, and last but not least...WAFFLES. I am not even joking, feeling sick and anxious from the experience. Never made it to eating because there were flies everywhere, one of which landed on my wife's lip. This is totally mind blowing I actually thought we were able to order Chicken and Waffles but apparently I was wrong about that as well. There was filth accumulated on the air vents, "Sea Foam" in the orange juice / lemonade machine and an unforgivable amount of sludge and crust in the waffle irons.
