This was my first visit to this location of Waffle House and I have driven past this location many times but this was my first time actually eating here. This looked pretty much like every other Waffle House I've ever visited. They had a decent crowd but it didn't come close to what you might see at the Waffle House across from the Flora-Bama. I think they should use that Waffle House across from Flora-Bama as a training ground for all new Waffle House staff as it would ensure they could be prepared to handle nearly anything! The ambiance was your basic Waffle House decor. It seems Waffle House has changed their menu substantially from my last visit to one a few months ago. They no longer seem to have steak and instead they only offer cheesesteak. So I decided to try the Cheesesteak & Cheese Eggs Breakfast. Of late it seems Waffle House often does still have other things they just neglect to put on their menu so I never seem to understand how we are magically going to know these items still exist if they don't put them on the menu? So I attempted to get chili added as one of my toppings but they were out of that. Every other Waffle House I've been to my drink order was brought to me immediately while here I never got my drink until my food arrived. I also have NEVER waited for my food as long as I did at this Waffle House at any other of the MANY Waffle House locations I've eaten at all over the place over many years. It seemed they were highly likely training a new server who was struggling to keep the orders straight and definitely seemed to be a new trainee. First of all we ordered online...sitting and waiting on the online order. The order said it will be ready at 10:34pm my boyfriend goes in on time and again he has to sit even longer. 1 (11:30pm) whole hour goes by and we finally get our food only for them to leave the Steak out (the main part of the dish) and my pecan waffles. I understand being busy but at least have everything correct when making someone wait so long. Then out of all things how can you forget the main part of the dish? Stopped by here for a quick bite Wednesday evening. The staff was quite friendly after a brief moment of upset that my cousin Tommy Tallarico wasn't with me. Eventually they got me calmed down enough to place an order, though it did take 45 minutes and half an Ativan. Ordered the ALL STAR special: Hashbrowns in lieu of grits, eggs over medium, bacon, plain waffle...please and thank you. The waiter didn't even write anything down. Instead he called out to the cook using a sort of WH Code System...possibly developed during the downtime of the Second World War. Strange really, when you think about it. Without that absolute nightmare conflict sweeping across the globe, the founders might have never met. "Tom" and "Joe" (clearly code names. "Tom" worked in military intelligence, which means he continued to do so until his death in 2017.) decided that what America needed was a place to get waffles after the bars close. Somewhere with a jukebox, sales tax figured into the menu price, and crewed by real Problem Solver types. Waffle House 662 is not properly operating. I'm sorry to say. I haven't been to Waffle House since covid started but today I said I was going to get a waffle. The entire staff had on masks when I walked in which gave me comfort. As my food was being prepared I just observed the place and then I noticed the two people who were preparing food have their masks pulled down. This ruined my appetite the two people who especially should have their masks pulled up to avoid fluids going into food were improperly using their masks. Rolled in here with the kids while traveling to Gatlinburg, TN for the Thanksgiving holiday...As with most WaHo's the place was bordering on packed but we managed to find a booth and we're quickly seated... Even in Hattiesburg I managed to catch some good natured ribbing over my LSU t-shirt I was sporting... At the time of this stop WaHo was offering a Breakfast Bowl promotion and I thought I'd try it...stretch myself a little so to speak...Damn that freaking bowl was loaded down with hash browns, sausage, eggs and gravy...I couldn't eat it all and normally I plow through my standard order but this thing must have had double hash browns tucked into that deceivingly large bowl... It was delicious and I was sad that I couldn't continue to enjoy it...The kids enjoyed their meals and my baby girl ripped in to her plate and finished it all (she typically doesn't)...The son, well he's 18 and 6'4", so yeah he knocked his out... Service was great, coffee was hot and the restaurant was clean...Another great stop at WaHo and I've come to expect nothing less in my travels across the south and stop ins at various WaHo's...I'd stop here again anytime I'm in Hattiesburg read more

Sat there for an hour and the waitress with blue hair, Veronica, did not refill our drinks or check in on us. Additionally, she forgot to place an order for someone at our table and proceeded to argue back with him, rather than simply correcting the issue. Continued to stare at us while we ate and we had to stop her on multiple occasions just to ask for refills and To-Go boxes. The friend of mine ended up getting charged three dollars extra for hashbrowns he didn't order, but she refused to fix that issue as well. Overall terrible time. read more

This morning we was in a bit of a rush so you can always count on a waffle house to get you seated and serve in a quick fashion. I had the All Star breakfast which is my go-to for these restaurants as it comes with all the necessary things for a nutritious and energizing breakfast. Eggs hash browns bacon and of course a nice big old waffle on the side. Service was very friendly and on-point and the coffee was to my liking as well. My family LOVES our WH and yes we call it "OURS" because our children have grown up going here 26,22 &16. Honestly, we have always thought of most of employees as FAMILY... But I do have to say the late night shift has dropped the ball! BREAKFAST shift bust their ______ to make sure EVERY CUSTOMER IS SATISFIED. However, overnight crew with the exception of a couple are just doing what they can/want to and the others are having to pick up the SLACK!! Which turns into ANGRY Customers & not the BEST food that I KNOW "OUR" WH IS CAPABLE OF. Just food for thought because we Love WH SOOOO MUCH. GOOD LUCK read more
