The location itself is in a very sketchy area if you stereotype the neighborhood. The pricing is amazing. It is very cheap and you do feel full. roaches by the inventory/food washes dishes under the booth where people eat at and don't care if water, splashes in food, molding like substances in a nozzles that leads to the drinks They do not sanitize their dishes or silverware correctly. All they do is scrub them bare minimum and put them in a steamer and they actually come out dirty half the time and a staff will literally wipe the rest of the food off with a towel and put them up to be served to other others. Along with staff not wash, washing their hands after they done sweeping the floor, washing dishes, or doing something if you want waffle House, I highly recommend you make it at home. Horrible Experience!!! I was greeted, but sat at the counter. The waitress barely parted her lips to greet me. She looks like me, but not like me. I had to reach over and get my own menu. She came back and I gave her my order. Then a palm color customer walks in and she is all smiles and properly greets him. I couldn't believe it. Then I speak up and she had nerve enough to state: "Oh, I didn't speak ". I looked at her and stated "No, you didn't". I cancelled my order and offered to pay for my drink. This was the best experience I have ever had with a Waffle House. I was greeted and seated as soon as I walked in the service was great the waitress was nice and friendly. The employees all worked together to make service was fast and accurate. They work great as a team. What I really like is that the cook removed gloves any time she did something different she didn't keep the gloves on if she touched something that wasn't food. Yummy! I ordered the plate that came with waffles, toast, eggs, ham, and hash browns. I LOVED it! I'm from San Antonio and I've always wanted to go to Waffle House. The closest thing is Dennys or iHOP which is overpriced, has poor quality food, and not filling. Here at this place you get your moneys with for sure. I left full and happy. My boyfriend ordered the grits and he loved them. The waffles were not too crispy but not to soft they were perfect and the waitress was very nice. When we walked in no one said anything to us or to even just let us know they'll be with us in a few minutes. No one greeted us, nor was anyone paying attention to us. We sat and waited for over 10 minutes and there was no one else waiting...there were about 3 dirty tables and they had been sitting like that since we walked in. We ended up leaving after all of that and was just super frustrated that absolutely NO ONE said anything. And no they were not busy enough to not acknowledge us. While traveling made I've patronized several Waffles Houses. Regardless of the location I usually enjoy the food & service. Unfortunately that wasn't the case for this location. We were seated right away (party of 4). Food was ok... Toast came out cold with an excessive amount of butter that never melted. We had to ask for EVERYTHING! If I asked to coffee cream with my first cup of coffee and used it all; when you refill it I'm gonna need more cream... the service was poor! I believe her name was Jen. Okay...if someone in your group is dressed like Kid Rock on Halloween, you HAVE to go eat at the Waffle House. It would have been funnier if I'd been dressed like Pamela Lee, but I was Anna Nicole instead. (Celebrity Train Wreck theme.) I actually like Waffle House. I had a friend who worked near one and we met there for lunch about once a month. The grilled cheesesteak melt sandwich is cheese-tastick! It's a definitive greasy spoon experience. I never thought I'd say "greasy spoon" and "definitive" in the same sentence...but there ya go! But it was 3 a.m. which by my clock is All Star Special time. Usually I get the waffle and bacon combo, but this time I had the biscuits & gravy and sausage. There wasn't much meat in the gravy so I crumbed up my sausage into it. Much improved. The egg was scrambled, which was okay--hard to mess up a scrambled egg. Usually I ask them to put cheese in it, but I was wrestling with my Anna Nicole Smith wig and forgot. Preventing the next day's inevitable hangover with a plate of greasy deliciousness. Is this a 5 star restaurant? No. Do I care? No. The Good - Do you want breakfast at 3am or 3pm? No problem. WH has got ya covered. You want a burger instead? Sure thing. Do you want it to be healthy? ........fine, they've got a couple of options to make it healthier, but... this is Waffle House. Get it together. - The people and service. I will say, maybe the service timing could be a little quicker from time to time. But the employees here always have a great attitude and are personable. They'll take care of you as long as you are nice to them. (Golden rule, people.) - I'm a lazy bum, so I like calling in my order and picking it up so as to get my antisocial self home and back in bed where I belong. - 24/7/365. - Cheap cheap! I loves it. You for sure get your money worth. The Meh - I mean, I wouldn't necessarily go by myself. I could just be a little paranoid. I prefer to go with the fam or friends. The jukebox was broken and they left it operating, so I payed 3 bucks just for my songs to be played cutting in and out. I ordered a two egg breakfast, and my friend ordered a waffle. I got my meal about 10 minutes after we first ordered and my friends waffle came another 5-7 minutes after. By this time neither of us had gotten our drinks, which were simply water and a coffee. After we ate, we got up to pay since we had finished our meals and wanted to avoid having to deal with further bad service in getting our beverages, however, our server looked at us standing at the front ready to pay, and put our drinks on our empty table. We asked for our drinks to go. We then got ready to pay, but the server had written our check as a part of the two other booths behind us. He said he assumed they were our parents, even though we came in way later than them and didn't talk to them once. We had to wait a couple minutes to pay so he could add up our ticket seperately. I've been eating at Waffle House for 20+ years all over the US and this one is one of the best. Super friendly staff, excellent table service, very clean (including the bathrooms) and food served hot and quick. I pretty much always eat eggs scrambled with cheese along with hash browns and a waffle - had exactly that today and everything was perfect. There are some reviews here that are less than five stars but just ignore them - when it comes to inexpensive diner food it really doesn't get any better than this. The staff here very obviously LIKES working together so you get some love in the food. I heard the manager speaking to employees like people and not robots - bravo. Lastly, anytime you go into a Waffle House for breakfast you'll hear a "good morning"cry from the staff - the one we got this morning was genuine. The food here is pretty good, especially for the price. Based on that alone, I would give it 4 stars. But the service left a little to be desired. I don't expect a whole lot - it IS a Waffle House, not some posh cafe - but I was pretty underwhelmed. The guy didn't go out of his way to be a prick or anything. He was just not interested in being a server today. There were a few issues, all as a result of the server not listening, and being generally inattentive. But still the food was good, and the chef was friendly and attentive. I would eat here again, just maybe in a different seating section. read more
