So, I only go to Waffle House for their hash browns late night. Other locations get it right. This location is takeout only after 11:30pm. I get that based on where they're at, but every single time I've gone there, they get my order wrong. For hash browns. This is my favourite Waffle House in Jacksonville. Service here is always friendly from the entire staff. Orders are taken promptly, food is served quickly, and drinks stay refilled. This particular restaurant just opened in June '13, so everything is still all new and shiny. Everything is always very clean. Food is good, cheap, and yummy. It's especially yummy when you're starving to death at 3 in the morning! =) I always stick with breakfast. Eggs, toast, grits or hash browns w/ cheese. Occasionally I'll add a waffle or some type of breakfast meat such as bacon or sausage. Whatever I order, it's always cooked perfectly here. The hubby likes to change it up. Sometimes instead of breakfast, he'll order a Texas Bacon Lover's BLT or a Patty Melt. Those are his two favs if he's not having breakfast. He's a huge fan of both. Highly recommend this particular Waffle House for great food and service! You don't find it at all of them. read more

This was a much better experience than the last Waffle House I stopped at down the road. The server greeted us immediately. She was very cordial and attentive. She got the order almost perfect. The mistake was fixed right away with a smile and great attitude. And the missing items were made just as the first were ordered. So to me she went above and beyond to assure my meal was exceptional. There is 2 other tables she is tending too and I still feel like I'm the only one here. I would certainly recommend this location over the one in Orange Park. read more

They locked the door and force you to take your order to go and charge your$4.70 to go fee and a $4.70 to go supply fee.. (check your receipt) . They said the other cashier wasn't here but the were 4 people inside. This forces you to tip them. Read the yellow paper at the top of the glass when you order. Up to do you can't see it. The server was a real genuine sweetheart. She made sure that I had what I needed and that I was happy. I ordered the Texas patty melt with bacon and it was delicious even if really unhealthy. This place rocks. Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Its busy, often non-stop. No WiFi, and one sometimes feels rushed if other customers are waiting during peak hours. The quality of the food is Magnificent and I've had almost everything on the menu. Someone is always cleaning, or bussing tables, the serving, cooking, and management are wonderful. Poor service is not tolerated, and folks who deliver poor service are not there long. Remember it's a diner. So there are seats at a bar and a few booths and during meal hours the place is usually crowded. Mind you, I don't mind waiting for fantastic, made to order food, low prices. I strongly recommend hash browns to your liking, two eggs over medium on top of the potatoes, mushrooms, onions, ham with whatever other ingredients you want, Buttered Raisin toast, County Ham or sausage, and don't forget sweet tea with vanilla or cherry syrup added to it. I work at a steakhouse and was dying for a steak or some wings tonight. I got home 3 hours after we closed and everywhere I called was closed. I called and ordered a T-bone, my cell service was cutting out but when I got there, the young lady said she heard what I said and the only thing I had to wait on was hash browns and that took under a minute. Great customer service, food was great and I didn't have to pay $60 for a steak tonight. I want a compliment to be sent from a manager to the server and the cook that were working at 2am on Thursday the 26th. read more

This is one of the best Waffle House locations in Jacksonville, if not the best!!! The service here is great. Every time we come into this location, as soon as our butts hit the seats, a waitress is at the table ready to take our drink order. The food os what you'd expect from a Waffle House, but boy is it delicious! My favorite is the Texas Bacon Lover's BLT (What man doesn't LOVE bacon?). The only reason I didn't leave five is because the server wasn't paying attention. I get the same thing at every waffle house I go to. The all Star special. I know the questions they ask. Cheese in eggs or grits? How do you want your eggs? What toast? What meat? Plain waffle? I answered all of those so she wouldn't have to ask, and she asked anyway... I already told her so she wasn't paying attention. She also gave my father in law a triple order of hash browns when he just asked for a double. Then, they wouldn't take the coupon I had for the free waffle because it needed to be printed. Not everyone has printers and we weren't even home when we decided to go. She also added grits to my boyfriend's order when he didn't ask for them. I know she was just trying to finish her soft because another server came and finished checking us out at the end because the server said she put her paperwork in the office, with our order and the door was locked. Luckily she took the grits off but we still had to pay for the wake which wouldn't have been ordered had we known the coupon couldn't be used. read more

What really did this place a favor though was our waiter! His name was Chevy and he was very polite and helpful. He also had a great attitude. Everyone did. My first job was in a bakery/restaurant, with meals much like those served here at the Waffle House. I'll admit that I've had better breakfast, but I don't remember the last time I had better service. The service in this place was absolutely phenomenal! Our waitress was friendly, super fast, and incredibly attentive. We never had to ask for anything, almost like she'd read our minds. Coffee and drinks stayed full, empty dishes were whisked away instantly. She was seriously THAT good! Her name was Maria, so if you go in, tell her you already know how awesome she is! The food was good, not great, but to be honest, I went in with pretty high expectations. When I moved to Jacksonville from the northern Midwest seven years ago, I hit a certain point in the journey and realized there was a Waffle House sign every six feet or so along the highway. Eventually, I made friends from around here who said it was the best breakfast ever! They told me about the hashbrowns and the steak and eggs and on and on. Alright, let me let you in on a little secret. I LOVE breakfast. It is by far my favorite meal to eat out, and I love a big breakfast. Eggs, sausage, pancakes or waffles, hashbrowns, bacon, biscuits and gravy, etc. So, after all I'd heard about Waffle House, my mouth was watering before we even got in the door. Imagine my surprise to find that this was not indeed the breakfast utopia I'd been expecting, but rather, an okay breakfast place that was cheap and quick. The servings weren't what I'd expected from a southern breakfast joint, and there was one thing missing from the menu that I think is a pretty big deal - pancakes. Okay, now I realize the place is called Waffle House, but IHOP serves waffles, so give me one good reason that the Waffle House doesn't serve pancakes - an absolute breakfast staple. In the end, the meal was good, but not something I'd write home about. I'm glad I finally ate there, so I can say I've been partially initiated as an American Southerner, but if I had to choose, I might do my next breakfast at Denny's or IHOP. I enjoy Waffle House in most occasions but the one on 103rd st is awful. Sat in there for 10 minutes and no one even offered me a water. They were more concerned with washing dishes than even acknowledging me. Staff was all African American and I'm White. Hope that was not the reason. Absolutely the worst Waffle House I have ever been to. Take an extra 15 or so minutes and drive to the one on Blanding.
