I love Waffle House. You know what you're getting and it's simple comfort food. I came in on second shift to an empty house and my food was perfect, staff very friendly and the store clean. Today on first shift the tables were all dirty even though the place was empty @6:30am, my food was good and the staff was friendly. Disappointed with my dirty table and all surrounding tables. And the staff was still just chatting with a friend and each other. Now I'm awaiting a refill on coffee with no luck. My first cup was bottom of the pot and she poured the rest out. Yikes. I hope my next cup is fresh.... Next day. New AM crew. Cleaner today but messed up my order. The server called it correctly but the cook forgot my onions in the hash broans and the was zero butter on my weakly toasted muffin and only a small amount on my white toast that I told them I did not want from the get go. We have been coming here since they opened. We are never acknowledged when we walk in the door. We were made to wait when there are 2 tables with dirty plates on them one section was closed, but there were 2 waitresses. There were only 7 customers in the store.We stood for about 5 minutes and left. We had not been here in about 3 months due to poor customer service . Update: we frequent this Waffle House weekly. Today we had our small grandchildren with us and never had this problem before . I ordered the waffle and bacon for the kids. The waitress billed us separately for their bacon and waffle, which went from $5 to over $7 for each kid. I questioned about the billing and she informed me, even if they are kids you have to say kids Waffle. It's the exact same waffle and bacon. Lesson learn, don't assume because you are sitting with two small kids a waitress knows they are kids. We never had that problem before when we took them, the other waitress has common sense to know a kids waffle . read more

Ok. I once rated this diner at a much higher level. I wish I could rate this much better. We would frequent this place regularly on a Saturday or Sunday primarily for breakfast. No longer will I venture to this place of business. I used to barely get half way done with my coffee or tea before they automatically refilled my drink. The wait staff would always greet you upon entering or leaving. There were smiles and pleasantries all around, a real gathering of neighbors and highway travelers alike. Now, it is depressing! The wait staff is rude and could care less for the customer. The food arrives sometimes accurately, the tables are dirty and quite honestly it appears as there is no one in charge. So, keeping in mind, "it's the Waffle House" I mainly want to shed light on the unprofessional nature here besides the fact that I only had egg and bacon on one side of my sandwich while the other half only had a sad piece of melted cheese and 1/4 of a piece of bacon. Not to mention that my husbands order was wrong. Our server was nice enough not to chArge for his since he was the last one eating after we were done. Anyway, aside from all their loud personal conversations, the tall skinny lady with a lot of buttons on her hat was very rude to the others working there. Very loud and bossy to them so all the patrons could hear. She was disrespectful. Had she been my server, I would have been uncomfortable asking her for anything. It was extremely unprofessional, even though "it's the Waffle House." She was mean. After telling my cousin about the experience, she reminded me it was the same lady she had the incident with last week. She thought she was accidentally charged for a waffle and couldn't read her writing so she asked. She was very rude about it and then proceeded to tell the other workers (loud enough so my cousin could hear) that she didn't charge her for a waffle and "didn't need to get an attitude about it!" She said she simply asked if she was charged because she couldn't read the writing and wanted to make sure she wasn't charged. The server continued to be rude about it going back and forth with her. Will I be back? Probably, since it's the closest one when I'm desperate, but I will not accept bad service from her and will complain to the highest person I can if I see it again. Update- went here last week and our whole experience was great. Made our snow day even better!! I love the greeter, David, who goes around asking how everything is while handing suckers to kids. Staff seemed to be in a good mood. Our server, Chasity, was great! She refilled our drinks without asking and all of our orders were correct. Totally different experience since the handful of times that I have been. It's just hit or miss. I took my grandmother who never gets to go out to eat. She was craving grits and eggs. First thing I noticed was heavy metal music blaring. You're in luck, grandma! Playing your favorite tunes. It's not crowded at all. A server comes to ask what we want to drink because "our real server" is on break. Yeah, I know. I saw her smoking by the dumpsters. She brings our drinks and spins round but then on second thought, 'Susie (not her real name) takes long smoke breaks and they look ready.' So she takes our order. Food comes out fast enough. My grandma is pissy about the lumpy grits. I mean lumpy. She won't say anything though. She doesn't like doing that. Her sausage looked as if it has been sitting out with last nights drunks. It's pitiful looking. Dried out and shrunken. My hash browns are either burnt or were cooked on a dirty griddle where the food was stuck and burned before my hash browns were cooked in the same spot. I got cheesy eggs but they were too cheesy. I didn't taste any egg. But, I was not that hungry anyway, so I let it be. Oh, Susie came back when we were finished eating and said she had been on break. Lots of people washing dishes and chatting behind the counter that would not even look at the customers. Food was okay when it finally arrived. I have to give a lot of props to this place when I went with my family. Only 3 were working, 2 servers and 1 cook. They were able to serve my family of 12 in an orderly fashion and we all got our food on time. Our server was super nice to us and was patient with my family members who didn't know much English. Waffle House 109 Lebnon TN went for breakfast yesterday. Got a late start so knew we would wait for a table. We got there around 10:30. Two parties waiting and we joined them. The table to the left right inside the door was empty but dirty. They were working on cleaning tables and the bar. first group sat at the bar. second group sat at a table at the other end. Mentioned table still not cleared. Waitress assigned is walking like she has glue on the bottoms of her shoes does a little walks around goes back to table a minute or two later takes a few more things. Two more parties came in to wait. after 15 min of her not getting this one table cleaned when all the other tables and bar were done by the assigned waitress and been sat and waited on We got up and walked out. I dont know who is running this place now but we wont be back. Covid killed you. Your staff has no interest in being there. the food isnt cooked correctly. Need to close your doors until you can find enough staff to train together and once you have adiquate staffing then open your doors or you will find your doors closing for good. I've always wanted to eat at a Waffle House. It's like people coming up to NY and having pizza. I always thought that eating at Waffle House is a Southern experience that I just had to have. I was on my way to the airport after a wonderful time in Tennessee. I figured that Waffle House would cap off the experience. Alas, I figured wrong. No sooner than I stepped into the doorway, I glanced down at the tile floor and saw the greeter walking about like it owned the place. I understand equal opportunity but I draw the line at cockroaches. This little fella didn't run from me at all when I opened the door. he actually moved only so that I can walk in. We stopped in for lunch the other day, upon arrival we noticed all the people working were actually outside smoking. A random dishwasher guy took our order down on a napkin to give to our server when she came back in from smoking. He then proceeded to give us our drinks while we waited. Upon drinking about half of his sweet tea my coworker looked down and realized he had a huge fly in the bottom of the cup! He let the waitress know he wanted another drink because his had a fly in it. She then rolled her eyes and acted like she was inconvenienced by him asking for a different drink. We received our bill and they actually charged him for a drink. Which I thought personally his entire meal should've been comped. I will never go back to this trashy location again.
