Visited today for lunch with a friend. Had a delicious lunch and wonderful service. I had the Philly cheesesteak with red beans and rice. Absolutely yum. With generous amount, brought some home too. Brought a Fried Apple pie with ice cream and caramel sauce home for hubby. Have never had a bad meal or service there. Pork chops were tender with good flavor especially when you add the sauce on top of the grilled onions . Salad was crisp , fresh and very well put together . Baby carrots were nice and hot with that buttery sweet flavor you know and love from cheddar's . Our waitress Stacy was welcoming , down to earth , personable but over worked . The kitchen did miss part of my food but it was not a big deal as they were quick to server what they had missed . I believe like many other Cheddar's restaurants they are lacking staff . We chose this spot mainly due to its location, diverse menu and the fact that it was open on Sundays. While I respect any business that chooses to close on Sundays, I'll say that people need to eat on Sundays as well! If I lived here, sure, I'd be happy to eat at home... but we're traveling and don't have the ability to cook! So kudos to Cheddars for being open. I originally ordered the herbed chicken but our server came back to inform us that they were out of it so I had to switch to something else and I chose lemon pepper chicken. I'm thinking the herbed chicken would have been better, since by its description, it was actual pieces of chicken and the lemon pepper chicken was more of a pressed patty made of breast meat. Not horrible, but not great either. The caesar salad was good - nice fresh lettuce and parmesan (I told them to hold the croutons)... the dressing was heavier than I'd like - if I had to do it over again, I'd get the dressing on the side. The croissants were delicious! Overall, this was a "mission accomplished" type of stop. Nothing fancy or special, but I don't think they are trying to be fancy or special... the servers were friendly and the place was clean. You couldn't pay me to come back. This was my first experience at this restaurant and will be my last. It took 20 minutes for someone to come to our table. That was even 10 minutes after "requesting the server" on that screen thing. It was 40 minutes between when we were first sat and when we got our apps. This is a popular place to eat since it opened in MJ and rightfully so. The wait isn't horrible. You can join the waiting list online by the way. The service is outstanding. The food is delicious. You get all of this for a very fair price as well. The wife and I both had a nice dinner for under $40 before tip. We had to wait all of 2 minutes to be seated. We were immediately greeted by a top notch waiter. They bring out these delicious complimentary sweet croissants that are really more like pastries.The blackened salmon was delicious. Although our server at Cheddars believes "Kaden" is more superior spelled with a "C", our experience with him was probably the best we've ever had. He was not only attentive and quick to serve, but he was absolutely entertaining throughout the entire evening! My girlfriend and I shared that it was our 8 year anniversary, and he made sure to customize our dessert before it hit the table. I've eaten at Cheddar's in Alabama too many times to count, and I'm rarely disappointed. Though it has been a few years since I've been, I'm glad this location did not disappoint. My family always order the New Orleans Pasta, so since this was my boyfriend's first time trying Cheddar's I suggested he try that along with the butter croissants. Both were a hit and he loved it! I ordered the pasta as well and was stuffed after eating everything. We ordered curbside pickup which was an easy process and the food was well packaged. This was our first visit to this Cheddar's location. We entered the restaurant and were seated quickly. Our waiter was friendly and took our drink and appetizer order. Our favorite appetizer at Cheddar's has always been the cheese fries, and these fries had plenty of cheese and bacon. Delicious! Our entrees were the Smokehouse burger with broccoli casserole and the shrimp & chicken tenders. These were both delicious and we had leftovers to bring home. Awkward and slow introduction, great waitress didn't put my number down correctly so no text when our table got ready but got seated quickly when we wondered in after the while. Waitress was timely and friendly yet didn't seem to hear us well but we worked with it. Had a good time looking over the extensive and familiar menu, went with cheese curds to start, one buddy tried the pasta and actually cleared the plate! My friend and I split the full rack of ribs, a bit fattier than others and lacking sauce but tasty and easy to eat. Wonderful to see the fake inflation corporate greed hasn't taken over priced here, also great to see excess food donated to local banks! Cold ribs! That's all I can say! My husband and around 4pm. Server was good, manager apologized, but it ruined my appetite. My husband had a pasta dish called "New Orleans" and liked it. At least it was warm! No on tap beer, either. Taps weren't working. No Heineken , either. No sure how this restaurant intends to stay in business in this busy shopping area! We were put on the list and told it was a 15 minute wait. After 35 minutes I went and asked about our table, she said she had one person in front of us and then she would seat us. About 10 minutes later they called us. As we walked in, just a few of the tables were taken. The restaurant was just about empty, I brushed food and trash off my seat to slide into the booth. We started looking at the menu when 2 servers walked past our table talking and giggling. The host was seating someone else and that guest mentioned that there was trash all in their booth. The host started yelling back at the guest telling them to just sit down and quite talking to her..... she repeated that about 3 times. At that point, we all looked at each other and decided to go somewhere else. As a paying guest, if your restaurant is trashed at the tables or restrooms, your guests do not have much confidence about your kitchen or staff cleanliness. My husband spoke to the manager on the way out to share our experience, he basically blamed it on shift change. As a past manager of a food place, when we had shift change our day shift made sure things were clean and swept up, everything was stocked and prepared the night shift for success. This location's $9.99 1/2lb lunch classic cheeseburger is always great. The last time I went I asked for well done and the beef was a little undercooked. I checked with the waitress and she was very nice, another gentlemen assisted her immediately let me know they had another one cooking which only took about 10 minutes. The second burger was perfect, and they gave me another order of fries free of charge as well. I gave the waitress and server an extra tip for the excellent service. We went there for lunch Sunday afternoon and we were seated immediately. Quick to take our orders. Food was cooked wonderful service was good, the only complaint I had was I saw a person from the kitchen set a tray of salads on a table half way down the row and eventually our server came around the corner and realized that they were ours and immediately brought them to us. The croissants are to die for! I am a huge sucker for good bread to start, and the croissants are my favorite! I could eat ten without even thinking about it Now, my favorite appetizer is the cheese fries! It is so cheesy and good served with ranch. Again, I would have croissants and cheese fries, and be good! Stacie is one of the best servers I have ever encountered! I have only seen her there this last time I was there, but almost all the servers we have had have been extremely helpful and friendly. Stacie just went above and beyond the day we had her. Super friendly and personable. Meal-wise, I honestly haven't found anything that I love. I like the chicken tender salad, but other than that, I usually eat croissants and appetizers, and it is plenty of food. My son loves the fish tank in the center of the restaurant and the unique fan they have going--plenty of room for larger parties and intimate booths for smaller groups or couples. read more

We waited almost15 minutes before our server ever showed up at the table, he never checked on our drinks or our food quality while we were there.The next time we saw him was after we had finished our meal 20 minutes prior. The food took almost 30 minutes to get to the table. The food didn't look appealing it looked kinda slapped together. The steak was grisly & had way too much pepper, the fries were not completely cooked and were greasy which tasted like the grease should have been changed 2 days ago. My daughter actually got sick after eating half of her fries & half a burger. No one working there smiled, made small talk or acted like there was any urgency to anything. I'm a former server so I understand how it SHOULD be and it wasn't even close. The place looked clean enough, the menus were sticky and the plants looked like they needed watering. If you've never been, GO!!!! The honey butter croissants are SO flaky and delicious!!!! The waitress was super kind, and all around gave us great service!! The atmosphere was calm and chill. I got the chicken pot pie for lunch with a side salad. The crust on the pot pie was golden, light and flaky in texture. Very good food! I really want to like Cheddars but they make it hard to visit since there are so many options now in MJ. The food is good, but the service has been lacking now for some time. I know employees are hard to find now, but this location has to do better in choosing who they hire. This has been an issue since before COVID. We visited last night and ordered the Salmon dinner and the Chicken Alfredo dinner. The waitress forgot to bring out any croissants (after offering them). She didn't leave any straws for our drinks, and she wasn't very knowledgeable about the menu items. She forgot to include the Grecian bread to the pasta order, and once we finished our dinner, we never saw her again. Managers - please do better and we will be back. read more
