    Caesar Salad

We chose this spot mainly due to its location, diverse menu and the fact that it was open on Sundays. While I respect any business that chooses to close on Sundays, I'll say that people need to eat on Sundays as well! If I lived here, sure, I'd be happy to eat at home... but we're traveling and don't have the ability to cook! So kudos to Cheddars for being open. I originally ordered the herbed chicken but our server came back to inform us that they were out of it so I had to switch to something else and I chose lemon pepper chicken. I'm thinking the herbed chicken would have been better, since by its description, it was actual pieces of chicken and the lemon pepper chicken was more of a pressed patty made of breast meat. Not horrible, but not great either. The caesar salad was good - nice fresh lettuce and parmesan (I told them to hold the croutons)... the dressing was heavier than I'd like - if I had to do it over again, I'd get the dressing on the side. The croissants were delicious! Overall, this was a "mission accomplished" type of stop. Nothing fancy or special, but I don't think they are trying to be fancy or special... the servers were friendly and the place was clean. A solid option for someone on the go or someone who just can't or doesn't want to cook at home.

202402161810 Strange. Friday night with no waiting? Well, it is raining. Anyway, we sit quickly & Isaiah brings us Buttered Croissants, nice & warm. The Painkiller is a favorite drink & I'm trying a Maui Margarita with a shot of cactus juice. Mmmm-buddy. One's a tropical delight & the other is a coconut pineapple drink. Look 'em up. The Monte Cristo is a classic favorite. Smoked ham, smoked turkey & cheese, battered & fried, with raspberry preserves & powdered sugar. Boo-ya! Enjoy your meal in low lighting, high booths, funky spinning fans & a big fish aquarium. Clean place, fine foods, good drinks & Isaiah is great.

This is a popular place to eat since it opened in MJ and rightfully so. The wait isn't horrible. You can join the waiting list online by the way. The service is outstanding. The food is delicious. You get all of this for a very fair price as well. The wife and I both had a nice dinner for under $40 before tip. We had to wait all of 2 minutes to be seated. We were immediately greeted by a top notch waiter. They bring out these delicious complimentary sweet croissants that are really more like pastries. The blackened salmon was delicious. The wife loved her meal of pineapple chicken and shrimp. You can't go wrong at Cheddars!

Although our server at Cheddars believes "Kaden" is more superior spelled with a "C", our experience with him was probably the best we've ever had. He was not only attentive and quick to serve, but he was absolutely entertaining throughout the entire evening! My girlfriend and I shared that it was our 8 year anniversary, and he made sure to customize our dessert before it hit the table. His attention to every detail made our anniversary more special than just a night out. We recommend Cheddars, and we highly recommend Caden! Kaden Franco

Food was consistent, and croissants served for free were delicious. Service was definitely below par. Overall just a mediocre spot to eat, but a large menu which would be good for families or large groups.

I've eaten at Cheddar's in Alabama too many times to count, and I'm rarely disappointed. Though it has been a few years since I've been, I'm glad this location did not disappoint. My family always order the New Orleans Pasta, so since this was my boyfriend's first time trying Cheddar's I suggested he try that along with the butter croissants. Both were a hit and he loved it! I ordered the pasta as well and was stuffed after eating everything. We ordered curbside pickup which was an easy process and the food was well packaged. Based on his moans of joy from the pasta, I'm sure we will be back soon!

Not my first time at Cheddar's and probably won't be my last, but this visit was a bit disappointing. I love Country Fried Steak and Cheddar's is one of my favorites when I visit the South. However, this time it was raw in the middle and inedible about halfway through. Luckily I had mashed potatoes and yummy green beans to dig into. I also ordered a Margarita which was OK.BTW it was huge! The first couple tastes were fine but I was done about halfway through. Our server was a sweet girl.

This was our first visit to this Cheddar's location. We entered the restaurant and were seated quickly. Our waiter was friendly and took our drink and appetizer order. Our favorite appetizer at Cheddar's has always been the cheese fries, and these fries had plenty of cheese and bacon. Delicious! Our entrees were the Smokehouse burger with broccoli casserole and the shrimp & chicken tenders. These were both delicious and we had leftovers to bring home. I'm so glad we have this Cheddar's location near us. We look forward to visiting again.

It's my last night in Nashville so I want to go to a bang zoom restaurant. A few of my co workers have said to me: Mr Bill, we see every night you're going out to some amazing spots. Mind if we tag along? Sure, the rules are to keep your fork outta my plate when we sit down. Deal? The restaurant is very large, we're shown to our table. Set in the middle of the dining room and facing the bar. The bar can seat at least 25 people, the restaurant is set up for fun. To get our party started, I ordered a well crafted cocktail: Tea'd Up Old Fashioned Made with Bourbon, Black Tea and House Barrel Aged Bitters. Funky?? Oh yeah I'm with a bunch of Military Veterans and they're telling me their crazy stories. I'm sippin' my Old Fashioned and taking it all in, we need to bond over drinks and crazy things we all drank overseas. As an adult, I can appreciate my Nashville TN Old Fashioned with Black Tea. While we're talking, our waitress drops off a plate of homemade biscuits. The biscuits are fire! Buttery, flakey and moist, The Southern Steak & Oyster can make a damn good biscuit. Next, my Gumbo comes to me. The first taste I can tell this is a chef'd up dish. Better than anything I had in New Orleans. This gumbo is filled with Andouille, Crawfish, Shrimp and Fried Okra. Very flavorful indeed. My last entree in Nashville will be Fish 'N Grits. Fresh fish topped with Spicy Tasso Ham over Sweet Potato Grits and Bacon Braised Cabbage. This is a flavorful dish, the grits are very creamy and the cook on the fish was spot on. We had a great night at The Southern Steak & Oyster, it was a pleasure to dine at your restaurant.

On one visit with only a few of us there our bartender disappeared for a good 20 minutes. Upon his return he was focused on everything but the 5 of us in the place until we finally had to ask to get service. The other visit everyone helped me but the actual server. Maybe this is a staffing problem, I don't know but being stuck for 20 minutes to order another drink with my meal is not acceptable. Although they had that check in my hand in under a minute and in under another minute to process. Again, super nicer people, but kind of oblivious. 2) Now let's talk about the kitchen. And I'm adding some input from the other diners because we all sat there waiting. - flavors are great, but the salt and spice level is overboard. I had the mushroom appetizer and nearly choked/coughed to death. I like heat but this was raw spice that overpowered the dish. And the salt about made my feet swell into balloons. Such a shame because the idea is great just poor execution - deviled eggs. Pass - BBQ Shrimp, sort of like the mushrooms right profile but overpowering - gumbo. Two other people had the gumbo and when I asked they said that too is just over spiced I want to like this place, but probably my last visit unless I just come for oysters. Sorry

Chad was friendly, chatted us up, and offered speedy, quality service. The Spiced Pear Mule was delicious and well balanced. The space was warm, and I would've been happy if we'd stayed and gotten dinner here. The pig ears were so good. They were super crispy and served with sweet and sour sauce and mustard, which provided the perfect contrast. The sweet and sour sauce gave you that addicting, luscious flavor and the mustard had just enough pungency to keep you coming back for more. We demolished the bowl in probably record time. We also got the pimento cheese beignets, which were okay. They were deliciously fried pillows of dough that I felt could've used a bit more pimento cheese filling, but the pig ears completely overshadowed them. Devastated that nowhere around me offers this dish and I'll have to wait until the next I come back to get them again!

I think a perfect egg is like the star of any breakfast and is definitely the headliner/closer of any perfect entree. But I also think good hash browns are the foundation any breakfast is built on. If the potatoes are off--too crunchy, sliced or shredded too big, bad seasoning, &c--the eggs often can't save it. That's why any dish built on the premise of potatoes on the bottom and eggs on top is the ideal dish for me. Paper Mill has a good skillet plate. The potatoes are chunky but not overly so. The sausage and ham are plentiful--definitely no skimping here. The veggies lend a good flavor but don't overstay their welcome. That sauce complements everything well. And my eggs were great. Once mixed it was perfect. I think the only complaint I have of the service was the coffee refills were a bit slow. I'm used to servers coming by and asking for a refill. This time we noticed I was a perfect four for four with having to ask for a refill. Combine that with their policy of not providing coffee to go and it was kind of disappointing. The coffee on the ride back to the hotel is a time-honored vacation tradition. The ambience was good. It was very welcoming. Even if we were sat at a high table, which is normally a deal breaker, this time wasn't so bad. I like the dim lighting. That's normally something you don't see in a breakfast/brunch food joint. I'd welcome more places to eat in the morning that aren't try to flood the space with natural lighting. All in all, this was a great place to get your first meal of the day. Just know you have to by hyper-vigilant of asking for coffee refills if you're an addict like me and you'll be fine.
