BF and I stayed at a hotel across from Waffle House just for one night. We were super hungry by the time we arrived to Orlando. Our driver told us about Waffle House, so we decided to try the place since it was 24 hours. We walked in and were greeted right away from the two employees working late that night. BF and I shared the Pork Chop Meat Lover and holy moly it was awesome! The price was pretty decent too for 3 pork chops, toast, hash browns and a salad. The pork chops were juicy, tasty and cooked perfectly. We had to go back the next morning for some breakfast. :) The prices here are awesome with the amount of food you get. I always here mixed reviews about any waffle House from Floridian locals but coming from the West coast I like the comfort food here. The all star breakfast will satisfy for 2 people. The portions are quite big and for $12 it's not bad. The waffles were okay nothing really special about it but the highlight here are the hashbrowns. Will definitely come back and try them with toppings next time around. Service was quick and friendly but didn't like how they charge 10% automatic gratuity for my to-go order. The food was great! The service was fast and everyone's so friendly and every employee greets you. We all had the Texas Bacon Eggs and Cheese Melt, we got a huge side of hash browns country style which has country gravy on it whats cool is they have a hash browns topping menu (see picture). My one daughter has scrambled eggs with country hash browns everyone left full and the waitress was a hoot too . The prices here are awesome with the amount of food you get. Came in with my family on a Sunday at 2pm and were told we could not sit on a side of the restaurant because they only had one waiter. Thinking we were going to be asked to sit on one of the other tables, we were left standing and IGNORED as we waited for someone in that place to help us find a table. The 7 workers that were behind the counter completely ignored us for about 15 minutes as if we were not there. We kept looking around to see if ANYONE would at least acknowledge that we were waiting ... but nope we were looked at as if we were invisible. My recommendation to the owner of this Waffle House.. fire your staff- their horrible service is making you loose money! It's better to have a few good employees that will have your customers coming back.. then a bunch of good for nothing lazy employees who are turning away customers and are costing you salaries !We left to another Waffle House that was about 10 minutes away and spent our money there. It's hard to explain, but sometimes a greasy spoon becomes sterling silver spoon. Eating at waffle house is usually such an occasions; it is the right meal at the right time, and gosh darn, it tastes good! Tonight, we chose WH by default; we were in the hotel adjacent without any form of transportation, ready to fly out tomorrow. WH was the only option, but boy it tasted good after a long day at Legoland. Chocolate chip waffles, hashbrowns, and the fiesta omelette all went down easily. In fact, the fiesta omelette was really good...it was puffed out, like an eggy croissant! Service was good... the waitress did better with our group of 13 than did the Olive Garden waitress earlier this week. She also gave my son a few extra pieces of sausage after he told her he was still hungry. Awesome! Super friendly, even with 7 kids in her area. Facility was clean, by all standards. We don't eat here often...nor would I want to...but it is a treat when we do. Tonight, the greasy spoon shined! Four stars for doing what it intends to do...cheap, good food. I picked the hotel next door because it was next to this Waffle House.. I was bound and determined to get my WH fix before I came back to SoCal. Don't set your expectations too high people. After all, this is a Waffle House. Staff is engaging and easy to talk to. Except Miss Brenda. She would be the one with pink hair and the piercings falling off her face. Apparently it was my fault she had to work back-to-back shifts that night. She had not been relieved of her shift yet and she made her feelings abundantly clear to everyone in the store on having to work an extra shift. This also reflected in my cold food which she took from my plate, put back on the flat grill and re-heated. I am not a certified food handing subject matter expert but I have a notion that food that has left the grill, been eaten by a customer and put back on the grill is probably not in compliance with food safety guidelines. My efforts to engage her politely were rebuffed and I usually ended up talking to a ghost as she zoomed by. Chow is cheap and filling. Love the hash browns and chili. Great after a night of dive bar debauchery. Carb overload after a day of zero food intake. When I hit the lottery, I am gonna open the first Waffle House in Southern California.
