THIS IS THE PLACE!!! I have spent over 20 years in food and beverage and usually leave "critical and mediocre" reviews online, but this Waffle House specifically deserves a special shout out. Hanna must be the manager because her energy exudes authority with a gentle touch. She has made us feel more than welcome despite our half dozen visits per semester. She deserves companywide recognition, and I also really appreciate Tra's work ethic and conversation as everyone loves an open kitchen!! I can't say enough good things about this company and this location specifically with its awesome employees who practice good customer service with the dying common sense. No doubt the teamwork attitude has been embraced here and somehow I feel these employees need to be rewarded for that!! it is obvious that this waffle House cranks and that it is well oiled and that it cannot afford a week link. And I'm so sorry to the Rolling Stones/Beatles girl/pirate radio your name isn't coming to me, but you are awesome! FURTHERMORE!!! I visited this location recently with my 77-year-old father who had recently celebrated a birthday. The staff put happy birthday on the jukebox and I felt that that was a very special touch. Over and above, in fact. Working on Cape Cod, we studied Zingerman's in Michigan and Southwest Airlines for example, as customer service flagships, however I would use waffle house and Chick-fil-A as superior customer service experiences. POOrest SERVICE AND FOOD ordered a sandwich to go I waited a half hour she didn't put the order in till five minutes before I got the sandwich way different from other waffle houses I ordered extra potatoes add-on for $3.50 and onions they were tasteless and uncooked for that price I should've gotten a whole bag of potatoes un cooked but I ordered onions there's no taste absolutely no taste hows that possible The total price for this calamity including the Texas toast that look like miniature regular toast over $11 not worth it and definitely not worth the aggravation read more

On the right slow night you can usually get good service, tonight I understood it was a Saturday before Halloween but with only 6 other guest and no Togo orders available this late at night I figured with a good pre tip of 30% and letting them know my patience for the night I gave my order which I thought was being thoroughly listened too. I later received my order which was read back to me correctly and left to get my passengers home safe after a long night. I get home to realize I'm missing an order of hash browns with onions requested in the side, as well as gravy on an order of hash browns that I paid for? I just don't understand the miscommunication and I even called twice to let them know of the mistakes without an answer, with that I'm here having to leave a review as proof of the problem after the issue. read more

It's Waffle House! This waffle house is located close to the interstate on one of the Port Orange exits. Coming from the interstate requires travelling past and making a U-turn to arrive at this location. There is plenty of parking. The restaurant is clean, the staff was very nice, the food was good and the prices are very reasonable. Definitely recommend this place for anyone in the area wanting comfort food. read more

Food was good but there was only one family in the restaurant other than mine and they made us sit right next to the bathrooms. Reason they said being was that the other section an entire side of the restaurant other than three tables which otherwise I would've been back to back with the other family with two kids- was closed. So instead I got side of the table covered in syrup which I wipe down myself. The waitress was nice the cook was not very friendly she was a little nicer towards the end but I don't like to hear The toilet flush why eat unless of course I have diarrhea otherwise the table is very inconvenient other than that no complaints! read more

Dropped in for a late night meal after seeing a movie for some stereotypical Waffle House service. :( My husband and I were the only customers there at around 11:30pm on a Thursday night. The cook was friendly, greeted us when we arrived. Our order was correct, quality was as expected, and the food was delivered quickly, but it seemed that the waitress was almost annoyed by our presence. If she greeted us when she approached the table I did not hear her. I asked HER how she was doing, when it should have been the other way around. When she brought our food the plates were kind of dropped onto the table rather than set down, and it was like she was intentionally making as much noise as possible while unloading the dishwasher and tending to other duties around the restaurant. After we finished our meal I placed my credit card on the table. Shortly thereafter the waitress came back to the table and as she was reaching for a dish I offered her my credit card, as I thought that was what she was reaching for. This was my first visit to a Waffle House so I was uncertain where payment was to be made. When she hesitated I asked her if I should instead walk to the register or if she intended to take my card to run it. She said "most people take it to the register", which I could not see from my seat, but said "it's fine" indicating that she would take it. There was a moment of awkwardness as I attempted to give her the card a second time after she stated that it didn't matter to her... but her body language said otherwise. It's not that she did anything wrong, per se, but I felt that the whole customer experience was uncomfortable. It was late so she was probably tired and I'm sure she would have rather been anywhere else but there. I get that! But having worked as a waitress during highschool and college I know that I had to put on my happy face if I was going to hope a tip. I wasn't expecting five star service but I don't think it is unreasonable to expect a smile and an exchange of pleasantries from your server. We have no interest in returning to this establishment. read more

Called in to get some hashbrowns to go and stayed for some great conversation. Nicole and Jenard definitely made my night.

If I could Give Zero Stars I would. the Employees at this store will make any excuse to not work. 11pm at night I walk in to an empty store & ask for a ToGo Order. the employees explain to me that its to busy for them to do ToGo orders & there not taking them. the store is empty putting the food in a ToGo box instead of on a plat takes the same effort. I live with a disabled person who can not come into the store. we were regulars at this store Until the last 2 months they wont take ToGo orders. Not even when there doing absolutely nothing. this isn't the first issue I've had with the employees at this store over Laziness. I guess the Owner is fine with throwing away business & disrespecting there regular customers. read more

We were traveling and stopped at our go to breakfast restaurant Waffle House. My husband and I were the only customers in the restaurant at 5:30am.. The waiter was attentive but the cook was on his phone the entire time we were there. Eggs were cold, toast was cold and hard and he burnt the bacon. He redid the bacon and brought it out burnt again after we had finished eating. He paid no attention to what he was cooking was only interested in his phone call conversation. Needless to say this will not be a Waffle House we visit when we come back next year. read more

This waffle house was my saving grace while driving down the highway. Jesus really took the wheel and led me straight through the building itself. The workers didn't seem to mind. As stated in another reviews, the cook was too worried about his phone call to notice my car half way in the restaurant. Anyway, I got out the car and sat down at a booth. I ordered a steak, asked for it WELL done and they literally served it to me still living. it was attached to the cow just squerming around. I still ate it though it was nice to try something new 8/10 will be coming back for more. Now to the highlight of my trip. the bathroom. Of course i had the worst case of cholera. i was on the road to death just pooping out my organs all over the place. when i say explosive i mean EXPLOSIVE. i felt my small intestine coming out of my bum. i screamed so loud and bolted to the little boys room. Someone was in there literally smoking CRACK. Naturally i pushed them out of the way and then and sat on the toilet...or so i thought. I WAS HAVING A FEVER DREAM and when i woke up i was sitting on the waffle house bathroom floor and my diarrhea was so hot it literally burned a whole through the floor. BOILING. STEAMING. i couldn't stop it from flooding out. just like the nile river, in my home town. yes you heard that right. i came all the way from ancient egypt. anyway.... enough of my background. waffle house is so amazing i've never had such a good experience at such a wonderful, classy, elegant, exquisite restaurant. great dining and bathroom experience. like no other. read more

Went to the Port Orange, Florida store this morning (it was about 7:15 AM and they weren't busy at all) and was totally ignored by the waitress who saw us arrive and seat ourselves at her station. It was so bad that another store employee could be heard telling this waitress that we had been waiting and to do something. At that point, she mumbled a few words and walked into the back of the store (out of sight). Disgusted, we just got up and left. If I was not with someone else, I would have chewed all of them out in no uncertain terms!...though, I doubt it would have done much good. Lousy and classless employees!! This waitress had an clear attitude problem and had decided to take it out on her customers and then, her fellow employees who saw what she was doing, let her get away it. Needless to say, I'll never go back to that place. By the way, I went up the street to a different business establishment and received outstanding treatment and customer service. read more
