First time at First Watch, introduced by a local friend. I was impressed before I even got in the door. The outside seating was new, clean, and being enjoyed by many smiling customers. Inside the place was warm and cozy. We were greeted and seated immediately. The waitress didn't hover over us. Gave us time to look over the menu. Took our drink order and cam back in less than 5 minutes to take our food order. I had the elevated egg sandwich, adding the million dollar bacon. It was heavenly, as was my smooth iced coffee. My friend had the Barbacoa breakfast tacos and raved about the their taste and freshness. She also had her usual Morning Meditation fresh juice which was tasty and soothing. I got a coupon for a free birthday entree with purchase of an entree, and I didn't have enough time to drive to the Daytona location, so I thought I'd give Port Orange one more try. If my experience is always like I had today, I will happily switch to coming to this location because it is much closer to where I live. I ordered my favorite Market Hash. It came out fast, hot, and cooked to perfection with plenty of mushrooms, cheese, spinach and eggs made just the way I requested, served with yummy whole grain toast and strawberry jam. My experience at this location was great! Everything was as expected, but the customer service was top notch! That's worth the extra star on this review. I was warmly greeted and was able to be seated quickly! The server was so kind. I ordered hot tea and Parmesan Prosciutto Toast. This was thick-cut, griddled artisan sourdough with thinly shaved prosciutto, scrambled cage-free eggs, Monterey Jack, lemon-dressed arugula and roasted garlic aioli topped with freshly grated Parmesan as per the menu. I swapped the side of fresh fruit for a cup of grits. The dish was plated nicely, but some of the Parmesan shavings kept falling off the plate. I highly recommend this dish. I used to come here 3x a week minimum. The service is great and the food is above par. The bread was the very enjoyable dessert. Now the bread has been cheapened and tastes like cardboard. Excellent place for brunch. We came here with friends while attending the Daytona 500. I had the cereal milk cocktail which honestly tasted just like milk leftover in your cereal bowl after eating Cinnamon Toast Crunch. We also tried the Bloody Mary with bacon. As far as bloody Mary's go- this one was solid. The millionaire bacon (with cayenne and brown sugar) is delicious and should not be missed. We ordered one for the table to share (4 pieces). For entrees I had the cauliflower breakfast tacos (cauliflower seasoned with chorizo seasoning) We also got an order of French toast to share after our entrees. Traveling north we popped off 95 to get breakfast and wait out rush hour. We were immediately thrown into and among the commuters but saw the sign for here and pulled in. Only one other patron present at 0750, so got the seat of our choice. Quick service and coffee then we ordered the Parma Skillet Hash for me; Eggs Benedict Florentine for her. Our food came quickly, as always very good... She said she thinks there is always a nice "taste" of FW food! So this is def a girl spot! Was looking for an outdoor brunch spot for five big people and one bambino when First Watch came to mind. Turned out to be a pretty good idea. The hostess stand had no issues with us sitting outside even though we were the first group to do so that morning. Also, they happily agreed to moving tables together to accommodate our preferred spot on the patio. Monica was our most competent server. I'm not sure how many tables she was keeping indoors but we received plenty of attention outside. Got us started with Mimosas (couldn't say we'd been to brunch if we didn't have them) before bringing out the grub. I've included some pictures but can honestly say everyone was satisfied with their selections. Me? I had the Biscuits & Turkey Sausage Gravy. A first for me on the whole turkey sausage thing...can I claim I was eating healthier? Will definitely keep this spot in mind the next time we are back together again. read more

Update: it seems my good experience yesterday is not an every day thing. First Watch is a very consistent company and you expect the same where ever you go. This restaurant lacks luster and any desire for someone to come back. Potatoes salty, service not very good and full of excuses, coffee stale and bitter, Benedict's fully over cooked and took forever to get the server to come over to help replace them. I will stick to the first watch's in Orlando. Hopefully this restaurant gets their act together because yesterday was really a good experience but it was totally different staff today. I have come to this First Watch a few times and have not always had the best experience. This morning definitely changed my mind of my thoughts of this restaurant. The service was outstanding and the food was cooked to perfection. I am pretty particular about my eggs Benedict's but they cooked the eggs just right. The potato's were crispy and the banana granola crunch pancake is something out of this world. The mimosas were delicious! Yes I said mimosas. They have tons of boozy drinks and mimosas to offer. The interior is really nice and service was fast- however, there was hardly anyone there, so It should have been fast. It all went down hill from there. The menu is unimaginative, way over priced, and bland. I ordered Eggs Benedict. It came on a stale ciabatta roll instead of the traditional English muffin. The eggs were a bit over cooked, but not awful. There was NO hollandaise sauce. (Folks, Eggs Benedict with no hollandaise sauce is just poached eggs on toast!). Burnt bacon and egg shells in the eggs on multiple occasions; I do not know who is cooking in the back lately but they need to do better. Never done this before, but we walked out. It was busy - but this is a breakfast place (chain) and should be able to handle it. We waited 20 minutes for a table only to wait another 15 minutes being ignored. This place needs teamwork. Everyone was in the weeds and struggling as opposed to working together. Had on line order and arrived a little early. The restaurant was not bustling had a handful of people seated. I ran to the restroom and there was still no hostess so I stopped at the back bar area lady was really snippy and looked like she was in a tizzy.
