I hate leaving negative reviews because I'm a big fan of Waffle House, but this location completely disappointed me. When we arrived, there were only about five customers in the entire restaurant, yet the cook and the server were arguing with each other in front of everyone. It created an uncomfortable atmosphere, and customers shouldn't have to witness employees fighting while they're waiting for service. It took about 8 minutes before our server even came to take our order, and when he finally did, he got it wrong. We ordered a simple breakfast, yet it took over an hour for our food to arrive. To make matters worse, the waffles weren't even served with the meal--we had to wait another 20 minutes for them after we had already finished eating everything else. This was, without a doubt, one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had at a Waffle House. The service was slow, disorganized, and unprofessional from start to finish. I understand that restaurants can have bad days, but with only a handful of customers, there's really no excuse for this level of service. I always get the same the one w the waffle 2 eggs toast hash brown and bacon. Love the crispy bacon and add pecans to the waffle and ask for the hash brown crispy. I guess this is a great place to be at most times of year, but occasionally there are issues that can't be overlooked. It's a Waffle House, so things are pretty standardized and you know what you're going to get. Unfortunately, the staff turns over frequently so you occasionally end up with cooks who don't know how to cook eggs to order, or more recently waffles that just aren't cooked through enough. The area surrounding the restaurant is a bit weird, with a Wal-Mart next door and a sketchy motel right behind, all of which share a main drive in. It's hardly the type of area that gives you a sense of safety. I've never had any trouble, but it is concerning when reports come from that area like a shootout in the restaurant or sex trafficking bust at the motel. read more

We stopped after visiting Southside Sporting Club and the food was FAST, HOT, and DELICIOUS! The hash browns... the eggs and cheese ... the sausage ... the pumpkin spice pancakes (very sweet). The restaurant was clean as one can be considering the fast pace of meal prepping but they were on top of it all. The service was top tier! The line cooks and servers were super attentive and kind at 2am. They sang with us, vibed, laughed, and just really made our visit enjoyable. One of the best experiences I had in Houston. My absolute favorite waffle house location. I've looked through some of the lower rated reviews and... It's pretty clear that people don't know the vibe of a waffle house/don't appreciate it. The people are so friendly, the staff is quick, they are always busy but handle it with such efficiency that it would make Chick-fil-A blush. So much so that they actually have somebody who will usually see you during the busy times to facilitate first come first serve tables. Right. So it is Waffle House. What is there that hasn't been said? Walking into this ridiculously busy establishment we were greeted by the songs of the entire staff yelling "Good morning!". Oh come on...it comes with hash browns...and we got a waffle on the side...so technically...it is breakfast. Quit your whining. We were sat at the bar in less than 5 minutes and within 30 seconds I had loving coffee. I am not sure how much magic powder they sprinkle into theirs at the WH...but it is worth every cent and every loving drop. The steak patty melt. It is just unfair to other breakfast establishments how...damn...good this is. I have eaten at some hoity toity breakfast places recently...which cannot hold a CANDLE to the WH. This place is CONSISTENTLY the worst choice! I've been in a number of Waffle Houses around the nation, and never have I ever had good food or anything that even resembled something I could even call service. Once, my husband and his friend were threatened and asked to leave aggressively by a manager when they walked in the door hoping to have lunch together on a work road trip. They didn't even have an opportunity to sit down. Honestly, if it's the only option, I'd say you're better off being hungry. I wish there was a negative star option because this FRANCHISE doesn't even deserve one. I've heard of places taking the bad service thing and running with it, but this place takes the cake. It's almost embarrassing how often I come here. The service has gotten better after they hired a new manager. I like the speed and efficiency of the place and the fact that I can watch as they cook, so I don't have to worry about the cleanliness. I've actually tried the hash browns with onions, mushrooms, and cheese. This is the reason why people have fitness goals. Aside from the All Star Plate, I like that and the steak sandwich, which is always yummy. The servers are friendly and God bless them, they work on holidays too. We came here on Thanksgiving for breakfast and gave our waitress a larger than normal tip, because she was providing a service, since our kitchen was overtaken with turkey madness. As much as we stop in here after a night out, I should have written a review sooner. Who doesn't love this place after you've had way too much alcohol and a long night out? Nothing is better than greasy, cheesy, buttery, syrupy, filling comfort food at 2am. My BFF and I shared a waffle, cheese and ham omelette and ordered our own scattered, smothered and chunked hash browns. To top it off, I had the best hot chocolate with lots of whipped cream. This morning I was dying for a good cup of coffee and I started thinking about the Waffle House at this particular location! Now I've frequented this place many times but don't think I've ever reviewed it and was surprised to see only 2 reviews here. Both 5 star but only 2. So having a busy day ahead of me....I thought I would start it out with the All/Star special which is what I always order whenever I'm here. Now this place is always packed whenever I'm here but the service and smiles have always been great! The friendliest and most helpful folks ever! I'm always greeted heartily and with a smile! Although I'm not that regular. I think it's just the way the crew is here. Always up. Always positive! I've never had to wait to have my order taken and when they bring that fabulous Waffle House coffee out I'm in heaven! I have to be careful not to have two many cups or I would start bouncing off the walls! . Now this location is located next to a motel and a Wal-Mart and has been here for years! Actually Texas Instruments (now retired) facilities in Stafford are across the street. He dropped off silverware and the menu about 2-3 minutes after seating and then took the other parties orders. We decided to come here for thanksgiving day breakfast. Surprisingly it wasn't too busy. Not sure why I thought it would be. Let's just say when you are spoiled by eating Belgian waffles regular ones just don't cut it anymore. It's a dinner style place and it sure does look as dirty as dinner you picture like in the movies. You can see how unclean the kitchen looks. The food I alright I got the scramble bowl thing. Hash browns, scramble eggs, bacon and sausage in it. It was alright. Nothing super special. Prices were higher than I anticipate from a place like this. Service is very homey. This is not a fancy restaurant, it is a diner plain and simple. Simple diner food and at simple diner prices. Their slogan on the menu: good food fast. I sat down and got a coffee within seconds. Not Starbucks but a good ol' fashion cup of Joe. Ordered a waffle with two eggs and country hash browns (covered in sausage gravy), and this came with toast. The hash browns were really good, and the sausage gravy was a nice topper. The eggs were scrambled and nicely done, and the waffle was, well, a waffle. Not that it was bad, it was good stuff, slight taste of vanilla, about what I expected. Which was, again, good. The bonus? All this for $7.90. Wtf? Awesome! I also enjoyed seeing that this is one of those local old guy places. While I was there 6 old fellas came in, one by one, with their paper looking for their standard breakfast, trading familiarities with the staff. A good comfortable feel. Look, it's not fine dining. If you're looking for someplace for a Sunday brunch or specialty Omelettes, this ain't your place. But if you're into simple diner food done well and at a cheap cheap price this is your place.
