As someone who considers herself a Waffle House connoisseur, this is a fantastic location. I placed an online order, and it was great to receive text updates when the order was ready. The staff member read off the order before she handed it to me, confirming they packed everything in the bag. The food was hot and delicious! Exactly what we ordered. The inside looked clean and the kitchen was busy but nothing looked concerning. The staff was super lively, friendly, and appreciative. These people work HARD. Very very very very very slow, we came in for dinner, there was no one else here, and it still took almost 30 min to get our food, took over 10 minutes to get our drinks and and even when we got our food, most of the order was wrong. We decided to just eat the food and not even bother asking anything to be remade, we've been here for breakfast plenty of times and service has always been top notch but this dinner/evening crew was just slow, bad service and just not up to WH par. read more

My first experience at Waffle House was...interesting. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but I was surprised at the limited amount of seating, and also the fact that it was literally misting from the ceiling of the dining room, and that no one cared? I will say they did a good job of getting the food out quickly, and that my chocolate chip waffle was actually quite good, as well as their hash browns. The staff was ready to throw hands right in front of customers - our waitress screamed at another one to stop stealing her waffles, and they went back and forth pretty loudly. Waffle House is usually on my late night to go list. When I was younger and had been out at the bar with my friends, nothing and I mean nothing, worked to soften the blow of a bit too much alcohol like Waffle House. Smothered, covered... scattered, chunked was something that meant diner food and good times. It isn't often that I rave about a chain restaurant but the Waffle House on Treasure Island, FL is going to get some love right now! With Thanksgiving over, my sister and I had time to wander around and enjoy the Gulf Coast of Florida. On this particular day, we decided to visit Treasure Island. When I was younger, this the area we would visit on vacation. It is also the area that John Candy filmed the 1985 movie Summer Rental. Our family happened to be in Treasure Island when filming was taking place and I had a brush with famous. Okay, I saw John Candy from the back and from a distance, but hey... I saw him in the flesh. Enough reminiscing and back to the present. My sister and arrived at the beach around 9AM and I needed to eat something. Waffle House was across the street so it won the "Where do we eat?" contest for that morning. The building is unlike any Waffle House I have ever visited. It has the look of a ranch style house with a pitched roof however, the roof is a bright yellow. If you dig a bit in the history of the building, you'll learn that it was originally the restaurant for the Howard Johnsons hotel that used to occupy the area behind the building. Anyway, we walked up to the front entrance and were greeted by one of the local wildlife who graciously let us in the building. The interior looked like Waffle House and we quickly found a booth to sit at. Our order - Our server appeared almost as soon as we sat down, took our drink order while we looked over the menu. You would think that looking over the menu wasn't necessary since the menu at Waffle House hasn't changed much since  it began but there was something new. (...or at least new to me.) They have breakfast bowls now! My sister order the bacon breakfast and I ordered the sausage bowl. In true Waffle House fashion, our food was ready in no time flat. Both breakfast bowls looked exactly like the pictures on the menu and we dug in. The experience - I took that first bite and was hooked. Everything was cooked to perfection and tasted great. A bed of hash browns with crumbled sausage, American cheese, and topped with two eggs cooked the style you want. Very filling and a great price. Our server was great and talked to us about the area we were getting ready to explore. We found out the white, crane that had taken residence out front was Bob the bird and had claimed Waffle House as his go to place for tidbits that were dropped by patrons. He, or she is very friendly and was a hoot. The entire staff is friendly and glad to see you. The restaurant is clean and bright. If you are ever in the area, Waffle House in Treasure Island, Florida is worth a visit. read more

We stopped in for a late dinner (of breakfast items) and had the best visit on our vacation in Treasure Island! I don't think we could have had a better, more upbeat, kid-friendly server than Orlon. By the way, that guy should have a career in voice overs, he has the best voice! Food came out so fast and was so good that my daughter felt inclined to leave thank you notes for the chef and our waiter on napkins. You guys are doing customer service RIGHT! read more

Went to this Waffle House on 1/17 around 5:15pm. Ordered an all star special. The bacon was completely black. So I asked for some that was not burnt. The cook to awhile to cook more bacon and when he did he laughed and said he will just cook this one regular. By the time I had my bacon, everything else was really cold. If the cook would worry about cooking customers food instead of some underage server this wouldn't happen. read more

Went here for breakfast with the family and everything was great. We stayed at the hotel next door and stopped here for ease. Boy am I glad we did. We were met with the kindest smile and hospitality from Elgium who was the cook but didn't mind helping us since other staff were not available. His attitude was riveting and contagious. He truly loves his job and it shows. They need more employees like him. The other male staff member, Jerome, was also pleasant and a good worker. A female worker named Bri literally never smiled and we never saw her do anything in the entire 1.5 hr we were there. Stopped by on what seemed like a slow night at 1 am on a Thursday morning. There was a few people outside but inside only 3 booths were being used for some reason. We were told the wait would be 10 min but she had to have known at the time that was far from accurate. 10 min later I checked back and she had just seated the 3 booths.. so it would have been quite awhile. Don't even bother opening if you are only allowing such a small amount of people to be served, and be more honest with the wait time. We ended up leaving after 25 min. Wasted our time read more
