Came for dinner, wasn't disappointed, its exactly what you'd expect. Blueberry waffles are great. Hash Browns are cooked perfectly. Server knew the menu well and kept our water filled. Inside is exactly like every other WH.

Oh my! After 9 years and likely over 75 visits I cannot help but call myself a huge fan of this particular Northampton location of Waffle House. However there is one caveat and that's if Super WH employee of 30 years John is working. I love to see him in action and it's always top notch. This is an extremely tardy update as my recents have all been above average. But especially my last one was the best ever with an impromptu birthday celebration. After a great All Star breakfast and wonderful service at the counter John caught wind he had a birthday in the house. It was not that busy on a weekday morning and he got everyone chocolate pie on the house and sang happy birthday. To boot a new WH cap...say what! He had a few and handed them out to customers. This is a special location with long time employee John at the helm. Every location should have such a dedicated employee like John.

I visited this location about 2:40am on a Monday night. It was empty, customer wise. When I walked in, I only saw 1 waitress who promptly greeted me. She told me that they only doing to go orders... I'm unsure why though. Thus bummed me out. I ordered the Texas bacon cheesesteak melt plate with hashbrowns about a minute after glancing over the menu. After ordering, I went to the restroom to check cleanliness, and it was nasty... When I came out, the cook and another waitress was present. While observing the restaurant, I noticed a couple tables that still needed to be cleaned. Specifically, one of tables still had the high chair next to it and trash/food on the ground. My food was ready at 2:50am I got some ketchup packets and headed back to my hotel, which was a minute drive away. The first thing I noticed when I got ready to eat was that my hashbrowns were over cooked... However, the bread on my melt was browned beautifully. I drowned my hashbrowns in ketchup and ate them. They weren't bad, but I just prefer my hashbrowns to be more soft than crispy. The melt was delicious! Overall, pretty good experience. It is Waffle House after all... IYKYK lol

Can you believe I went 30 years without ever going to a Waffle House? It's true. Because of this, Waffle House was at the top of my list to try when I moved to Virginia. I sat at the bartop and was surprised that the menu is super simple. For some reason, I expected more variety. My server was quite nice, but I could see that service in general here was subpar. The food was decent, but nothing blew me away. Surprise surprise... the waffle was pretty good.

Nice, clean, & friendly staff. It's conveniently close to the truck stop, so an easy walk across the street to meet up with friends and have breakfast. This location the food was good and met my expectations so I was happy about that because no one wants no gritty grits lol they made my cheese grits correctly & I was happy they accommodated me with my eggwhites. Super clean bano aka Bathroom huge plus. Would return.

Surprisingly quiet at 6am on a weekday, I was the only customer in there for almost an hour. I like quiet and this crew seemed to like it too with not too much moaning about cleanup and other workers. The menu was stcky but the welcome was sincere when my waitress laid out my silverware and took my order. I had the "fiesta omelet" and they were kind enough to substitute mushrooms for jalapenos. It was very good and cooked properly. As much as I wanted grits or hash browns, neither work on my keto "no carbs" diet. Overall, it was an A-OK experience. [Review 11944 overall, 1726 of 2019.]

I live in Virginia Beach but come out to this location because they make our food right. They accommodate our large family even when they have a difficult time finding us a table. They had messed up on my fiancé's hash Browns and fixed it without questioning and even took off a percentage for the mistake.

Literally EVERY TEAM MEMBER here is happy.. you can tell they have a great working relationship (at least the day and time we went). So naturally I'm happy. Like I literally mean there were overflowing with positive vibes it almost felt weird. LOL Ok so don't expect to get 5* food at Waffle House but do expect to get some bomb breakfast. I am on Keto and they are very accommodating- if you are also I suggest getting this... Philly cheesesteak hash brown bowl- hold the hash brown and replace with tomatoes. Philly steak, onions, mushrooms, jalapeños, scrambled eggs with cheese and throw some picante sauce on top anddddd Thank me later!

Fair service. OJ was sour. Coffee was decent. The food was alright. Ordered a bacon egg & cheese toast sandwich it was not too bad. They don't have Texas Pete.

Slice of the south with a touch of syrup and the smell of waffle batter! You know this is gonna be good when you have syrup on the table from the previous guests. We always stop in every time we come down to N.C. for vacation.. its like a tradition, and a superstition if you don't stop. What is there not to love about Waffle house, it's fast, you are in and out and right to the bathroom with in a half hour. The smell of waffles being made, orders being screamed out, pots of coffee. Tourist come and go, everyone knows and if they didn't know now they do .

Stopped by for a burger and a beer to drown in my solitude. Had great service. Prompt, attentive and genuine. Only downside was some pretentious guy named Jeff kept whining about the hostess and the service being "special needs" because he couldn't get his group prompt service under 15 minutes on a special holiday. If it wasn't for some derogative guy whining off the bell about how the service wasn't up to par every couple minutes I'd have enjoyed what would've been quite a depressing day for me. Other than that, burger was damn heavenly. Beer was cold and good. Service was grand. Some people just ruin it for others. Great spot, great burger, good beer and good folks. B.W.

The last time I set foot inside their Pleasure House Rd location was at least 10 years ago. I celebrated my birthday there as my friends were kind enough to take me out. It was a Sunday morning and I sought out a place that offered brunch. I noticed 1608 was open and decided to head over, especially since I haven't visited them in ages. When I walked in, I noticed their dining room is dimly lit - much darker than I remember. I was greeted immediately by a kind hostess and she proceeded to sit me at a nearby table and provided me with menus (one food, one alcohol). I took my time looking over the food menu, and in the meantime I ordered a pint of Center of the Universe's Bald Irishman and a bottle of Boylan's Black Cherry soda (they do not have a soda fountain). What made this visit memorable was that 1608's bartender, Hunter, was an old acquaintance from back in my restaurant days. He spotted me and came over to say hi. After my meal, I continued to catch up with him at the bar. His presence made a pleasant experience even more fantastic. I thought I was hungry, so I ordered 2 dishes - Smoked Ham Fried Rice and the Breakfast Burrito. According to Hunter, every item is made fresh in house. After biting into each, you could tell that's true. Both the fried rice and burrito were delicious and boasted lots of flavor. Although I prefer my fried rice a bit simpler (if you give me just garlic fried rice, I am SET), 1608's fried rice (veggies, garlic, soy, basmati rice, 2 runny eggs, smoked ham) had a lot going on, which made for a flavorful dish. I liked the rice and the burrito (Korean style fried chicken breast, scrambled eggs, cilantro lime, cheddar, pico de gallo) a lot. I didn't finish either because it was a lot of food (I really thought I was hungry, haha). But these leftovers turned into a fantastic dinner later on. 1608 looked clean and organized, although I thought it was a little too dark inside, at least for brunch service. That's not a dealbreaker since everything from the food to the service was as excellent as I remember. I hope to return soon with my mom. Regardless, I'll find my way back eventually. Thank you, 1608 Crafthouse! And great seeing you again, Hunter! JV

This is the perfect combo of savory and sweet. Soooo gooood! Highly recommend trying this dish. As a person from one of the northern states, I wanted to try some southern dishes. One of which was grits. The server asked me if I wanted cheese or butter for my grits. I had no idea so I asked which is better. Oddly enough I get the one server who does not like grits. Ugh. I ordered with cheese because cheese makes everything better, right? I think I made a bad choice for breakfast grits and would have preferred it with butter, salt and pepper. Oh well. I learned for next time and there will be a next time. I loved my server. She was super friendly and chatted with me in my grits quantry. She did check on me after the grits were served taking a minute to get my opinion on the food and even offered to get me another plate with just butter. I declined. The gesture was nice and thoughtful and much appreciated. The atmosphere is a casual, diner setting. The kind of place to get a nice meal and soak up some local vibes. Would recommend to anyone in the area. And make sure you try the wafflewich. I will not disappoint.

It was challenging to find parking but thankfully, we were able to find a spot right in the front. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and were seated right away. With it being lunch time, we assumed we would be able to grab some lunch but to our surprise, they were serving brunch and we were only able to order off the brunch menu. We were slightly confused and definitely didn't have taste for breakfast items so we had to choose from a small selection of non-breakfast items. We started with Palomas. The drink menu only included the drink prices for Happy Hour, and it definitely wasn't Happy Hour, so we weren't sure how much the drinks were. The server mentioned one price, then came back and told us another price but either way, all that would've been eliminated if the prices were on the menu. After looking over the brunch menu, my friend didn't see anything appetizing so she asked if they could make a BLT Sandwich, which wasn't on the menu, and they agreed. I decided on the Crab Cake Sandwich. The food was served in decent time. My friend had an end piece of tomato on her sandwich, which was disappointing. Our server took her sweet time checking on us so and we literally had to flag down another server just to get ketchup. My sandwich didn't even come with remoulade sauce that was supposed to be added. I did enjoy my sandwich though, it was very tasty. I also ordered the Bourbon Glaze Wings 'to-go' and they were delicious. From not being able to order from a lunch menu, to our server not being attentive at all, our experience wasn't that great. We also had to battle flies the entire time we were there, and we were sitting inside so that was a bit frustrating. The restaurant is located right by the Marina and it has great views but the service left a lot to be desired. I may return for dinner in hopes of a better experience but it probably won't be any time soon.
