My recent visit went really well. My husband and I get the same things most of the time but they are always delicious. The servers move fast and barely need to be called over. The prices can not be beat. I always by some treats before I go and that is always easy and there's always new items coming in. The atmosphere is always filled with the noise of family conversations. I don't understand the low reviews because the place is always full when we go in. I guess not everyone chooses to review.

I ordered a cheeseburger via grubhub and it arrived in a box with fries and my burger toppings (lettuce, tomatoes pickles) come in an unsanitary plastic bag.

Country Fried Shrimp with hush puppies, a side of Mac and cheese and steamed broccoli

I haven't been to Cracker Barrel in over 10yrs, but a friend wanted to me accompany him. I had the Country Fried Shrimp with a side of Mac and cheese and another side of steamed broccoli. Service was great. Our server, Alex, smiled consistently, and asked if everything to our satisfaction. Food was mediocre. The shrimp had little flavor. It tastes like batter mostly. Hush puppies were ok. My both sides were more on the plus side. They do give you plenty, so I took the rest to go. Women's restroom was not up to par. There was toilet paper everywhere.

Grandma's breakfast combo. Comes with three meats, but I got all ham also comes with pancakes, eggs and choice of a side

This is our favorite Cracker Barrel. Service is always perfect with a smile. Food is always delicious and hot. We also love the little country store.

Can't go wrong with Cracker Barrel. Always hits the spot. We came cause half of my fams was craving breakfast for dinner. There was no wait of course so we got seated immediately. Our order was taken and the food came out quick. Always hits the spot. They have the best pancakes1 crispy and buttery on the edges and the lil maple syrup bottles are so good!! Our server was great! Super friendly and fast. I love the store too cause they have lots of cute items and old school snacks and candy.

I like this place. It looks like every other Cracker Barrel so if you have been to one you have been to all. They all look relatively the same. There was the typical rocking chairs and checker board tables as well as the old creepy Victorian photos and paintings. Our waitress was good and she let us know that there was only one cook in the back. I would say, the cook was lucky there weren't too many folks in the restaurant. The food was delicious but here is why I took a star off. The broccoli casserole looked like it was cooked a while ago, probably because there was only one cook. It took a bit to get our appetizer and by the time we took a bite, there was our food. I'm not sure why the appetizer was served on paper because it ripped due to the cheese. Had to pick paper off of it prior to eating. I requested gravy on the side but it came on the chicken. I do recommend coming to this location. It's clean, the folks are friendly and the food although tonight it was just ok is usually for the most part good.

If you want to feel festive and go down memory lane at the same time, Cracker Barrel is the place to be at. Just a few minutes walking and browsing their merch just makes you feel homey. Staff greets you with their sweet Southern accent, in a corner or two you see merch up to 70% off - from sandals to caps to kaftan to mittens to clutches to ALL sorts of things and cute finds! They always have their old-fashioned candy and sweets wall and aisle, those yesteryear nostalgic trip helping you remember your hard candies and taffies and marshmallow pillows. And of course it goes without saying their signature pies - I got the chocolate pecan pie like I do every year. Definitely a must visit for those who want to find some treasures that feel varied and quaint and unique.

We went to Cracker Barrel for an early dinner. When we arrived the restaurant didn't have many people inside so we got a table right away. Our waiter Taeqwan was very nice and informative and answered all our questions. He made sure our drinks were refilled and kept checking on us. The restaurant was clean and they had the fireplace lit. So that was nice. My friend ordered grits, blueberry pancakes, cheesy eggs, and hash browns. I ordered the deep fried turkey dinner with double mac n cheese and a side of green beans, and loaded potato tots. The loaded tots were hot and fresh. Very good!! You don't get a big portion. It's about 10 tots, so I would have liked more. But I enjoyed them. The turkey dinner looked good, just like on the menu. But taste wise it was tough bland turkey. The gravy didn't help and they both were bland. The Mac n cheese was dry, in the past it was cheesy, but this was dried out and was like just eating noodles. The green beans were ok, but again flavorless!! It came with a dollop of cranberry sauce. The cranberry sauce was ok but the tiny drop they give you wasn't enough for the dry turkey. The biscuits and cornbread I received were cold, the butter wouldn't even melt, and they were hard as ever. I even picked the biscuit up and dropped it so the waiter could see what I was talking about. Even he had to laugh. The biscuits were overcooked, dry, and hard. I don't think they serve the same ones I've had in the past. My friends blueberry pancakes looked really good. So I was going to order some to go. She let me taste them and I'm glad she did. They tasted like nothing. I don't know how but it was like eating flour with blueberries. No vanilla, butter, sugar, or any kind of flavor at all. I wish I could have gotten my money back or something else off the menu, but we didn't have time to wait. So I left it alone because they began to get busier inside. Every time I return I pray it's better than the time before but it just isn't. My meal was $19 and not worth it. I like Cracker Barrel, they have decent prices, and the store is really nice. But my whole meal left me wanting to leave and eat something else. I hope things improve. The staff was friendly and checkout was pretty easy. I do recommend the store part, they have nice items like candles, candy, lotions, drinks, and more.

First time visiting this chain and I actually thought it was pretty good. If you want comfort food and not counting calories, this is your spot. The only issue is staffing, as everywhere. I give 4 stars because we waited a long time for the host while the staff in the store area just kept to themselves behind the counter. It would have been nice if they kept customers informed or made the host aware that customers were waiting. All in all we eventually were seated and enjoyed our meal.

You would never suspect the great atmosphere of this venue from the location. But the charm of the place really isn't the story. This is the kind of place that offers a gastro pub menu and they do not disappoint with a familiar yet unique menu offering some truly great dishes and perhaps the best burgers in VB. Our first table ended up being under a spotlight that was directly in our line of sight (it looked like it was meant for the specials board), so we asked to move. Staff was accommodating and got us to a better table quickly. The space itself is really nice. It was clean, rustically decorated, and the live plants in liquor bottles on the tables are a nice touch. Our server was friendly from the start and took drink orders right away. My daughter and I had sodas, and my husband ordered the Southern Charm Old Fashioned off the specials menu, which he enjoyed. The menu is on the smaller side, which we actually like. One unique detail was the option to "buy a round for the kitchen," which we thought was a really nice touch and decided to add it when we ordered our appetizer. We started with the fried deviled eggs after a friend recommended them. They were creative with three styles (classic with pickle, togarashi ginger, and crispy prosciutto), but overall a bit on the dry side and not as flavorful as we expected. We asked for Dijon, but they don't have it. Our server suggested and brought out the Baja dipping sauce instead, which did pair well and kind of improved them. My husband had the fish and chips and really enjoyed it. He said the fish was flaky and well cooked. I ordered the Union grilled cheese, which unfortunately seemed like it had been sitting a bit before being served, as the bottom was soggy. It was just okay overall and not particularly memorable for the price. The sweet potato fries on the side were the clear standout. They were crispy, the perfect balance of sweet and salty and honestly the best part of the dish. Our daughter had the kid's smashburger. It was exactly that. Service throughout the meal was good. She was friendly, attentive without being overbearing, and there when needed. The main disappointment came at the end. When our meals were served, the server actually offered sauces at the table (ketchup, mayo, ranch, etc.), and specifically suggested items like the baja sauce for the eggs and ranch to us. Because of that, we were surprised to see several charges for the sauces on the bill, especially since they were offered and recommended at the table with no mention of any additional cost. We were also charged a credit card fee, with no signage anywhere (entrance, hostess stand, or menu) indicating that paying with a card would include an extra charge. It just left an unnecessary sour note on an otherwise solid, casual meal. Nothing was bad, and nothing really stood out as exceptional, but the lack of transparency around those final charges really impacted the overall experience for us.

Our drinks were always filled, we got plenty of plates and boxes, and she was constantly checking in on us to see if we needed anything! One of the most attentive waitresses I've had. The food was great too, I had a gluten free All The Way pizza and it was LOADED, almost too many toppings! The crust was slightly softer than I prefer but that just comes with all the wet toppings. It was a beautiful evening. Our server was Lauryn, and she was great. She was nice and attentive but not worrisome. We had the Wisconsin Cheese Curds along with the house made Sangria. As an entree, I had the whiskey burger with truffle fries. I really liked the cheese curds; they're a lot flavorful than traditional mozzarella sticks. The house made sangria was really good too! We had to stop ourselves from just sucking it down. The burger is where I had the issue. It was a little on the dry side.... Too well done despite asking for medium. It also wasn't seasoned well. The only flavor rally came from the bbq sauce and onion straws. The truffle fries were good though. The menu said they won't best burger of Virginia Beach, and that was made me get a burger. Not the best burger I've ever had. Next time, I will try the pizza and probably go to the Shore drive location since that is closer to my house. Again, the vibe, service, and scenery was worth the drive.. the food not so much.

This location was extremely busy and packed when I visited, and honestly, that's usually a good sign...when a place stays that busy, clearly something is going right. What really stood out to me, though, was Colton. He went well beyond what I would normally expect from someone working the host/to-go area. He personally made sure my steak was exactly how I wanted it and genuinely seemed concerned about whether I was happy with my order. That type of customer service deserves recognition. He knows how to take care of customers, and in my opinion, he deserves a raise! I do think there is an opportunity for improvement when it comes to management. There was a manager positioned at the front during my visit, and while I obviously don't know her personally or whether she is generally a nice person, her disposition toward customers did not come across as particularly friendly or welcoming. More importantly, I noticed a clear difference in how warmly she interacted with certain customers versus others. When you're in a management position, customers should feel like they're receiving the same level of courtesy and hospitality across the board..you shouldn't pick and choose who gets the friendly version of you. It was especially noticeable because she remained at the front for much of the time, closely overseeing the hosts, so those of us waiting on to-go orders could clearly observe the differences in her interactions with different patrons. If you're going to be that visible and hands-on with your staff, I think it's even more important to model the same customer service you expect from them. Thankfully, Colton did exactly that. Despite how packed and hectic the restaurant was, he remained attentive, personable, and genuinely cared about making sure I left satisfied. Colton was absolutely amazing and was easily the standout of my experience. Management should recognize him because employees who care about customers like that are a huge part of why people come back.

As for the distillery- someone had the brilliant idea to turn off all the lights in there at 7- so there went your view and any ambient lighting in the dim basement. The service was slow and lackluster. The food was lousy. I had the venison, which was under-seasoned. The pepper gravy had no pepper in it. Only the Brussels sprouts had any actual flavor.
