It was just okay. Nothing special. Grits had way too much butter. The scrambled eggs with cheese were just okay. The waitress was nice

The staff is very rude, unprofessional. On line orders aren't even fixed until you get there.

The coffee cups came with lip stain on it, they serve the forks, knifes and spoon with their own hands

From the moment we were seated, our server, Amanda, appeared unhappy that we had been placed in her section and openly complained about it. As a guest, that's not something customers should ever hear. Throughout the meal, the service continued to be less than professional. At one point, Amanda reached across me to refill my coffee without asking, even though I didn't need a refill. A simple, "May I top off your coffee?" would have been a much more courteous and professional approach. The biggest issue, however, involved my order. I specifically ordered biscuits with gravy on top, which carries a stated 50-cent upcharge. Instead, Amanda entered the order in a way that resulted in the gravy being served on the side, creating an additional $2 charge rather than the advertised 50-cent upcharge. When I questioned the charge at the register, I explained that I had ordered the gravy on top. The cashier acknowledged that ordering it that way should have resulted in only the 50-cent upcharge. Despite that, there was no attempt to correct the bill, offer an apology, or make the situation right. I was simply expected to pay the higher amount. The extra $1.50 wasn't really the issue it was the lack of professionalism, communication, and accountability. Mistakes happen in every restaurant, but great customer service is measured by how those mistakes are handled. I am typically a very generous tipper and enjoy rewarding excellent service. Unfortunately, the combination of Amanda's attitude, the intrusive coffee refill, the incorrect order, and the complete lack of resolution left me with no confidence in the experience. For the first time in a very long time, I left no tip. I hope management uses this feedback as an opportunity to coach Amanda and the rest of the staff on professionalism, hospitality, and empowering employees to resolve simple customer concerns before they become reasons customers choose not to return.

I'm a huge fan of their beef tips , fried chicken , meatloaf and their lasagna (offered on Thursdays ). Each day they serve different things. Some of my fav sides are the Mac and cheese, the cabbage and their green beans. They are friendly people and you can not beat the prices. I eat here atleast once a week!

A friend of mine from high school posted a picture on Facebook of a fish breakfast plate that he got from here, and when I saw it, I instantly thought that I had to try it as soon as I could! Luckily for me that day was today, as I went here before heading to work. Ackingna's Place is locates I'm Old Walkertown Road right beside this auto repair shop. It's small that it's easy to miss it if you are not paying attention. There is very little parking, and it's crammed so get there early or be prepared to have a hard time getting out of you park there when it's busy. Since I got there early that morning, it was fairly easy for me to get in and out. There's no dine in area here as it's strictly takeout. As soon as I got out the car I could smell the aroma of bacon and sausage along with motor oil from the auto shop next door. I had to ring this buzzer to get somebody to come up and take my older. When I was there it was rand by this older black couple who were really nice. The menu is located on the front of the building on this laminated piece of paper, and is big enough where you don't have to squint. They serve breakfast all day everyday. There also serve lunch and dinner. They have omelets and these various breakfast platters whose price is dependent on the type of meat you get, as well two eggs, grits or hashbrowns and two pieces of toast. All this could range from $5 on up. I got the breakfast platter with bologna, cheese eggs, hash brown and toast. I added an orange juice and it was $8 total. The food took a little longer than I would have liked to be ready but I was like the first customer and they did look like they were just opening up so it was forgivable. Once it was ready, it was place in a styrofoam doggie bag and wrapped in a Walmart grocery bag. It reminded me of how I take my lunch to work on a daily basis! The food was all piping hot which I love. The eggs melted in my mouth and I could taste the sharp cheddar in every bite. The bologna was seasoned to perfection and wasn't burnt at all, plus it was he thick cut bologna as well which I love. The hash browns make could have been cooked a little longer but they were still really good and mixed with onions for flavor. The toast was great and was even better after I placed the jelly on it. I also got some OJ. They put ice in it which I don't usually like but it tasted like that Bright and Early orange juice my grandma used to buy when I was a child. It was still good and all gone in no time. They had a sanitation grade of a 93 which I would like to be a little higher (96+) but the overall experience was great and I'll be back for sure! *Note: Look at the picture of the menu and you will see what I mean when I say they serve a little bit of everything, but soul food related! Even chitterlings, and one of my all time favorites: fried okra! Go visit this place! They open as early as 6AM and close at 8PM but not sure what days they are closed though. One more thing, they serve BREAKFAST ALL DAY! Check it out, and thank me later!

They stay busy so the food is always hot and fresh, the price is right, especially given what big chain fast food wants for a way worse product these days. It's a fairly big place, so you can almost always get a seat indoors... even if they are busy, the line moves quick. Only things I would change, I feel like they could simplify the menu and make things even more affordable. I have literally never seen anyone order half the things on there, most people stick to the burgers, dogs, chicken, and ice cream. Other thing I don't love, christian rock music on repeat in there, not that you can USUALLY hear it with the ambient noise. It's their values, and ultimately, would not stop me from coming, just would be nice to change up the tunes. But, again, perfect hot dogs. Great tasting frank, buttered and grilled bun, cole slaw that isn't mayo heavy, chili that is meat only and not overly spiced to dominate. Wonderful.

My friend ordered the breakfast burrito, it was huge! For a side she had the sweet potato tots. She let me steal a bite of both and yum! I opted for the Hot Honey Chicken with Pimento Benedict and wow! I was nervous the pimento cheese would be overpowering, but it wasn't at all! It was a nice, creamy complement to the spicy crispy chicken. The hollandaise cut through some of the richness for a pleasant mellower. Prices are reasonable and our waitress was great! The restaurant is larger than it looks but it does get quite crowded. Can't wait to come back here!

This is a solid restaurant with much to offer in the brunch/breakfast area - an area that has become popular and chic, and it almost always means much will be expensive, usual very expensive considering the less than costly menu ingredients that drive food choices here, and other such brunch spots. Brunch is seen as more than just a meal for some folks who are all into what is trendy, and restaurant are aware of this and prices are raised due to the "experience" element! I have tried several items here including their version of Huevos Rancheros (not a fan of how they make it, pulled pork is a party foul), the Eggs Benedict (decent but over priced for sure, $17 with bacon added), and several Omelette choices, can reach $15. This is obviously a popular spot in downtown Winston, but I find it generally overpriced, loud, and the service is inconsistent. I like a good adventure, but somethings simply are not worth the cost! Note that the prices for individual items are written, very lightly with no $ sign to the right of the item. This is done intentionally to make the customer pay less attention to what they spending. Many restaurants are using some form of this approach!
