We came in around brunch time looking to try something new. This cafe is not your typical Westerville cafe. They have a mix of dessert waffles, smoothies, coffee, loose leaf tea and ice cream. The sweet options were pretty good but the waffles were rather soft by the time we were able to eat them but that's grab and go for you. The food was packed in a to go box which travels well and avoids spills. It's made out of a lightweight cardboard which appears to be well designed and recyclable which is a plus. A nice change from the typical plastic and styrofoam. It might be nice to put the syrups in a small container for travel but that's also the potential for plastic trash too. The staff was very helpful and walked us through the options. She also answered questions about the tea walk when I started reading through the choices. I ended up going with the mate mixed with cinnamon and orange. Very delicate and smooth flavor. The loose leaf is something that will interest me in the future. They had ice cream options including the bubble waffle cones. I will be back to try out the ice cream. The menu did not have any savory options which seems to be a missed opportunity. It could be an option to make a savory waffle sandwich with bacon or sausage. They could turn the waffle nachos into something savory with scrambled eggs and salsa. read more

I was the only one in Waffle Way Cafe, and could see why when I looked at their menu. Their pancakes and waffles were $15-$20! What?! I wanted to try and support a business but this was way too expensive. You get 21 pancake balls for $20. I was alone and there was no way I could or should eat that many pancake balls. You can make 4 pancakes at home for about $2-$4. Oh, and one of the waffle makers was down and could not make one of the menu items when I went in. They also had some self serve loose teas, and ice cream. I didn't see how much the ice cream was but it looked like normal flavors you can get anywhere. There is seating inside. The staff was really friendly. It is in a good location in Westerville with parking in front or the back. I would consider this more of a high end splurge for a breakfast food, and would need to have a couple of people to help share. read more

It's a really nice store, bright, and welcoming. There's a decent amount of seating inside and street parking in front and around the neighborhood. They do have some plugs and outlets for customers to use and wifi available. The store sells some drink products, various pancakes and waffles, and drinks. We got a coffee and a smoothie, but I would love to try their tea because you can create your own tea bag/flavor. The coffee was okay, it wasn't special and the coffee tasted very watered down. Our server tried their best to make their own blend of flavors but I think the coffee itself was bland. The mango smoothie was pretty good and made well. I would get another smoothie and try the tea. The waffles we got were a bit hard, very dry, and cold. The toppings only covered the few top waffles well and the rest only had some topping on the very top but the rest were bare and not every flavorful. The syrups included tasted like your average bottle of chocolate syrup, maple syrup, and caramel. While they do use really fruit, it's very sparingly. While we were there, many people tried to order a type of waffle item but their machine was down. I understand they make their waffles and pancakes fresh, but it caused their batter to get hard and cold. While we were there, staff was incredibly nice and kind. They were so helpful! I would come back for their service. However, while we were there, the owner or manager came in and their friends and family came as well. They were loudly talking, walking in and out often which sets off their door bell, yelling across the room to one another, and also making a lot of noise checking their inventory and items. I'm not sure if this place is meant to be a sit and stay or grab and go but I would say it gets pretty loud if you are trying to stay, study, or have quiet work time. Overall, the food and drinks were okay. I would like to come back and try their products and items again. I think the space is really cool and staff really was great. read more

I want to give this place more starts but i just can't. We heard about this place and decided to give it a shot on a lateSaturday morning There were only three people in front of us in line so it did not seem that bad. But the operations behind the counter seemed a little overwhelmed and clearly struggling. They ran out of batter and did not have any more left. So we stood in line for about 10 to 15 minutes while they may do batter. This is something you'd think would have been done the day/night before. Once they were finally able to restart operations, the very first order, they informed the patron that that particular machine was out of order. Once we finally placed our order, we waited another 25-30 minutes to get a simple mini waffles order, and a coffee. The waffles were ok. They came out cold and slightly soggy and they forgot the dipping sauce. Overall, I would like to give them another shot, but not sure if I can sacrifice an hour of my day just to wait for subpar waffles. The place looks cute and I would imagine could have potential if they knew what they were doing behind the counter. Maybe I'll update in the future if we give it another shot. The prices are ridiculous on a basic drink and waffles for one person $34.00. Waffles are cheap to make. I could have had a yummy bacon and egg sandwich and the same drink at Fox and snow for under 20.00. I could have had homemade waffles at original Pancake or a number of other places for 10.00. The staff was nice, your cafe was empty, based on the prices and business model you will not be in business long unfortunately. Three visits in one , first, last and only. Fun addition to Westerville! Lots of good sweet treat options and I appreciate the late hours! The waffle balls were very tasty--I agree with another reviewer that the only thing I would add to the menu is some sort of savory option like bacon or sausage (a candied bacon waffle ball option sounds amazing to me). Tried Waffle Way Cafe for the 1st time yesterday. Overall very much enjoyed. Inside was bigger than expected and had a good amount of tables/seating options. The food menu isn't super huge. The menu wasn't what we were expecting. My family is in town for the holidays. We like to support locally owned businesses. We went for brunch and coffee. The place is cute but that's where the compliments end. All tables were full but only one or two had food and drinks. The rest were waiting. We waited first in line for at least 5-7 minutes. That was our initial hesitation. We ordered the OG to share because the price was 20 dollars. When we opted to leave off the Carmel and chocolate drizzle and just get the maple syrup, we were informed, at 11am, that the waffles were ment to be dessert and the Carmel and chocolate should be included. Our personal choice would not even include that much richness as dessert. But we insisted no Carmel or chocolate. Then,... we waited and waited and waited. Meanwhile, only one other table got served. We still had not gotten our coffee, which might have been nice to have for the wait. After another 15 minutes wait, we decided if our food wasn't out in next few minutes, we were going to ask for a refund. We needed to go. So we went to the register to let them know we wanted a refund. The person hesitated and said, "a refund??" But I have your order almost done. Then, she still took another 5 minutes. She handed us two regular lattes and a box and we left. As we got into the car, we tried the lattes and they were barely warmer than room temperature. $35.00 later we felt ripped off and our time wasted. After spending that much, we didn't feel justified to go to an established restaurant. And, I have to explain that the waffle was not good. It was heavy, soggy, and tough. And, we couldn't even finish them. Seriously, it was tough. They made a big deal of the toppings. There were 4 blueberries, 2 very small thin barely noticeable strawberry slices, and 2 banana slices-each cut in half. Underwhelming and kinda embarrassing for all the fuss made about the toppings. And, we watched as an employee had to wash, and prep the pitiful fruit -after we had asked for the refund. ? Trying to do too many things and not doing any well. What is this place? It's not a cafe (latte was below average being way too sweet and not enough espresso). For the headliner - the waffle- well, I think even as a dessert, I can't recommend, especially for the price. I looked for reviews prior to going, but honestly there were few and did not describe today's experience. Gosh, we had high hopes. Every other waffle I've had in town is better, every other cup of coffee in town is better. Had the employee issued our refund, we may have tried it at a different time. read more
