There was only one family ahead of me when I entered, who was asking questions about bean recommendations. The person at the order counter was really helpful providing them with good information. When it was my turn to order, it was quick since I had already selected beans that I wanted to purchase, and my oat latte. Option was asked if I wanted to dine in or takeout, and I went with the latter. After I got my drink, I took a seat on one of the benches they have outside the store. There's also a decent amount of indoor seating and an outdoor patio section in front of the store. Not my first time trying Nemesis since I've been to Vancouver before, but definitely a reminder of why they are listed as one of the World's 100 Best Coffee Shops. If I wasn't so full from brunch, I would have also gotten one of their pastries. Seeing them all was very tempting.

The gentleman taking my order was friendly and recommended The Queen croissant since I was visiting. It was incredibly flaky, but honestly, I wish I'd ordered something else. It just felt a little too basic. I wanted something that would have excited my tastebuds more. I also tried the viral Mortadella Supreme - a croissant with mortadella, mustard aioli, egg, and Swiss cheese. The sandwich was good, but it wasn't very hot when it arrived, and I expected a bit more from all the buzz. One thing I did notice was the timing. My croissant came out almost immediately after I found a seat, the sandwich took a while, and my latte didn't arrive until I'd already eaten a few bites. The latte ended up being the only thing served hot. That said, I enjoyed the overall experience. The staff was welcoming, they help guests find seating when it's busy, and I can see why it's a popular spot. My first picks just didn't quite wow me, but I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu if I'm ever in Vancouver again.

My boyfriend lined up at 9:30am for a 10am opening and there were already 25 people ahead of him. By the time the store opened, the line was over two blocks long. I heard the line up was up to 2 hours long later that day so to say that Angus T is a hit is a bit of an understatement. This is a cute location where the emphasis is on sweet and savoury croissants but they offer Danish, cinnamon buns, tea, and coffee options. We ordered the limited offering of the strawberry creme croissant plus got a regular croissant, onion jam & bacon, pistachio & raspberry, and ham & cheese. All of these croissants were DELICIOUS and the regular croissant brings me memories of Paris! Yes, they are pricey but at around $1.50 to $2.50 more than a croissant from Starbucks a block away, it is well worth it as a treat.
