Wake Up Delicious was easily one of our favorite food stops. The grab-and-go breakfast burritos were fire--perfect for a quick, satisfying bite. The regular breakfast burrito with the Kalua pork was also super good and packed with flavor. The French toast was an "oh my God" moment--seriously that good. What's better than a breakfast burrito? A breakfast burrito with coffee just down the street from the beach you can take it to picnic, but if the beach isn't your scene they had a few tables to sit and eat at. At a steep $19 the burrito is quite large (enough for 2 I'd say) delicious and crispy. Extra plus for the zucchini- one of my fave veggies (don't ask why) but I love when it's incorporated into breakfast food. The mix of flavors and the extra crunch has definitely left me wishing I lived closer but that might be dangerous. I paired this one with a Hawaiian Milky Way ice coffee- sweet cold brew with caramel and chocolate mixed gave me a good bout of energy for the long travel day ahead. Would love to try one blended! Appreciate the honesty on how long it would take to make the food fresh and that would not deter me from coming back. I also loved the little corner of trinkets and forgot to snag a signed Hawaiian children's book for my daughter- all the more reason to put it on the list to go back too. There is parking close to the shops of Hanalei but I can see how they'd fill up fast in the summer but enjoyed my visit nonetheless and wish I had made more time to spend here. read more

Stayed in Princeville while in Kauai and this spot is located in Hanalei. Small spot but foods are good. I believe they are open until 1pm only...we also ordered the kalua pork with cabbage and the fisherman's breakfast. All were very good and can't go wrong. Drinks we ordered were Fuzzy nut, caramel dream, Hawaiian milky way and pineapple mango orange juice. Everything was soo good and not overly sweet. It's only offered before noon so get there early. It was so rich and decadent this is a must share! I have a huge sweet tooth and I still couldn't finish it myself. It's crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and topped with ice cream. It's to die for. The fresh juice was a nice tart and tangy contrast ! My daughter loved the juice so much she went back for seconds. My husband had the garlic shrimp plate and said it was tasty with good value. I tried the coconut shrimp and the mango pineapple juice. The juice was great and the shrimp were amazing. The shrimp itself was very fresh and had a nice texture. Wonderful flavor on the sauce. The food was HOT, not spicy hot, and not microwave hot, but fresh hot. Shrimp was cooked masterfully - excellent garlic flavor with a bit of spice heat. Rice became a perfect tool to soak up the garlic sauce from the shrimp. And I'm not sure if there is a better mac salad anywhere else on the island. The ham, egg, and cheese sandwich worked well on the ciabatta. Plentiful ham, perfectly cooked egg, and gobs of good, gooey cheese made this breakfast sandwich worthwhile. Fantastic spot for food! This place lives up to their name that's for sure! We came here twice during our trip in Kauai and both times I ordered the garlic shrimp plate. We also got the fishermen's breakfast and kalua pork and cabbage plate. The garlic shrimp at Trucking Delicious/Wake Up Delicious is the best that I've had on the island. It's creamy, buttery, and it had plenty of flavor since they use head on shrimp. There's limited seating but we were lucky enough to get a table on their little balcony with the view of the mountains. Can't get any better with delicious food and a beautiful view. FYI if you bring a bottle they can fill it up with water for you! Save some money on buying water. read more

Came with a side of rice with tasty seasonings on top and some of the best kimchi I've ever had. You can also pick Mac salad or seaweed, but I think kimchi is the way to go. Give this spot credit for serving up very good food in a heavily touristy area. They're pretty fast completing your order. The food is on par with better "grindz" around the Island. The menu is not long but I personally see this as a good way of keeping quality high. Our family ordered four different items including the vegetarian friendly plate with vegan sausage which was delicious. I had the kalua pork breakfast burrito which as massive as it was appetizing - definitely large enough for two eaters. The pork was mixed in with the egg scramble which I didn't expect. And if you enjoy tater tots, they're very generous with those. Seating is moderate - some bar type seating inside facing the highway and more seating on the covered deck adjacent to the highway as well. We were glad we stopped in. We had the very popular and well photographed garlic shrimp plate with Mac salad and rice. This dish does get messy, so grab plenty of napkins. We also purchased the Ginger Lemonade which was so refreshing. The shrimp was so Fresh and the seasoning was perfect. We ate the shrimp then put the rice in the garlic sauce and OMG!! We came for brunch one day and had the kahlua pork burrito. It's a generous size with super tender kahlua pork and tater tots inside. It's seasoned with a tasty sauce but we enjoyed eating it with the hot sauces they had in the restaurant. There are 2-3 smalls tables on the balcony and bar-style seating by the window. The sweet gal who took our order was the owner. We went with the Ryboo, a guava danish, Fuzzy Nut coffee and a Pineapple Mango Orange juice. The juice was super yummy. The coffee was tasty too but note that they don't use espresso. I asked for a knife to cut our sandwich and she offered to just cut it for us. The place is small, so seating is only outside.
