I'm not a sushi expert, but out of all the sushi places I've tried, this is my favorite. I'm a plain and simple sushi eater, so I don't really know what to recommend, but it seems from previous reviews that the "Vegas" roll is pretty popular. I enjoyed the sampler for the appetizer, so I will recommend it. This place was delicious!! My husband and I both had dinner boxes with bulgogi and spicy crab rolls as our choices. We also split a shrimp extravaganza roll bit was all very good. We've visited Branson again recently and tried Wasabi as I was craving for Sushi. Knowing that Branson is a small town so, I was not expecting top notch sushi. We were there for dinner. During my previous trips to Branson, I've had sushi at the small place near the Titanic and thought it was good but not too memorable. This time we rolled the dice and thought Wasabi is the place to try because it is on the strip and looks like a respectable place. We sat at the sushi bar. I guess the chef/owner is behind the bar. The atmosphere was great. They've put a lot of thoughts in decorating and made it very soothing. Service is not the quickest but the waitress came by several times to check on us. Sushi chef was very friendly and the servings were generous. Quality as good as the ones you get in the bigger cities. We were satisfied with their sushi. Typical tuna, salmon, yellowtail, etc.... In conclusion, this is a great place to eat if you want to have good Japanese food in Branson. Quality of their fish is above average and the cut is on the larger side. Finally found good sushi in Missouri. We are from California and thought there was no hope after trying at least 5 other places in Branson and Springfield. Everything we have tried was just ok. Wakyoto stood out in the crowd. Great food. My husband tried several rollls and enjoyed them all very much. I finally found a great bento box! Love their miso soup. Gyoza was delicious! Service was impeccable. Emma is wonderful. We went back for a second time on my husband's birthday with our kids. She even brought out a delicious dessert and sang happy birthday. It was wonderful! My wife and I went for on Saturday 11/21, we got the Bento Boxes. I got the Beef Teriyaki, with the salmon sushi, and my wife got the chicken terikai with the spicy tuna sushi. The one complaint that we had was that the Teriyakis both had way too many onions in them. There was more onions in the Teriyaki, than there was meat. The salmon sushi had a stronger fishy smell than I am normally used to. Other than that, the presentation was wonderful, the service was great, the portions were sufficient. I've been to this restaurant a 4-5 times and I've always had a great experience. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but it has a very nice atmosphere and we enjoy it. The food is amazing, and the staff is very friendly. They seem to be a little under staffed so it's never very fast, but it is VERY worth the wait. I usually get the "box" lunch/dinner which consists of a variety of options; the California roll and Chicken Teriyaki are my go-to choices. The service was really good, our server was attentive and fun. When one person in our party got sick and had to go to the car before eating, she was really understanding. However, the lunch menu was lacking, you only got half rolls with the box. The price was good but the fish just didn't taste fresh. I got the lunch bento box with a salmon roll and the roll was as round as my finger with one strip of salmon inside. My husband got five rolls and didn't even finish two of his rolls because they didn't taste right, and with fish that isn't good. Accidentally found this place and glad we did. We had the special that our server Emma recommended, crispy fried rice sushi with crab meat and/or tuna. We got some of both and were not disappointed. When she knocked down a cup and splashed the water everywhere, even my friend's dress. Ok, it is not a big deal. What made us feel really uncomfortable was she never say sorry or apologize for her faults. She has no idea of what is respect. Then, what happened next made us really pissed off. My friend found 3 egg shields (as big as a half of adult little finger nail), I am sure that they can definitely see them but just chose to ingore. Such a great dining experience! While on a trip to Branson with my boyfriend and some friends, we were hankering for some sushi, and stumbled upon this unlikely GEM. The ambiance of the restaurant was incredible, and the mood lighting and music made for a lovely evening. Our server Ramy was incredible, and brought us extra edamame!!! Turns out the sign outside was never changed and we were duped into it. As we went inside, we were asked to please wait a moment from one lady. We stood there about 15 minutes while she delivered food and took orders. She apparently forgot about us. Another lady finally sat us at a booth. When the First Lady saw us sitting, she was surprised as evidenced by the look on her face. She came over to take our order around minute 10 after seating. Ok, so from a Japanese person pallet perspective, this isn't all that great. It's edible, but the miso soup was very watered down. I ordered the bento dinner box. The gyoza was like eating the egg roll my brother in law got; The inside was the same filling. Not what I expected. The sushi was good, but the sashimi I received, was cut too thick. Being uncertain about where we wanted to eat, we were driving around and spotted Wakyoto and decided to stop by for a late lunch while visiting Branson. We had a pretty large group (7 people) but the staff was able to accommodate us very well. Coming from South Korea and also having lived 12+ years on the East Coast, I have had a lot of really fresh seafood and sushi in my lifetime. I wasn't expecting too much with the sushi, with being in the midwest and all, but I was very impressed at the quality of the food. The sushi was surprisingly soo fresh and tasted delicious. The rolls were really good, too. When it comes to nigiri and rolls, I am rather particular about the rice but the seasoning here was perfect and the sushi pieces weren't packed with a ton of rice like some other places - it was the perfect ratio. We also got some udon noodles and the broth was the best I have had at a restaurant in a while! They also had some non-seafood menu items. One of the best sushi places I have eaten at in Missouri! I eat sushi a lot and this place is so delicious that when I visit Branson I eat here at least two to three times, even if I'm only staying for a couple of days The 'Awesome Roll is self explanatory and is the dish my husband I buy 2 of every time we come. It's topped with lobster!! The soup is great as well as their other non sushi meals. The bugolgi is delish and one of the most tender pieces of beef I've ever eaten. The chicken dishes are tender and flavorful as well. And one of the best things about eating here is there foods not over salted so unless you soak every bit in the soy then you don't have to worry about the water retention you would if were to eat just regular Chinese/Japanese style dishes. The service is always amazing, very friendly and attentive, the atmosphere is perfect the decor is simple and understated and it's always very clean. The bathrooms are always spotless. We've never waited long to get our appetizers or rolls and even if we did we wouldn't care. It's worth it. As crazy as it seems my husband and I have made plans to travel 4 hours from home to come here and we then we planned all other things around our dining out at Wakyoto!!! I even brought my daughter and her friend here for her birthday and they loved it as well, which says a lot since sushi's an acquired taste and most kids don't care for it all. Of course they loved the awesome roll and the hey 76 roll. If you're in the area or even if your not it's worth the travel and the cost in my opinion are very fair.
