It taste great and is a real treat! They make good espressos, and americanos, however I have had better at other places. The wells location is definitely the easiest access and has a lower wait time. My only note is that Walden's has increased their prices over the years. Like.. I get it, but the breakfast burrito and coffee will end up costing you 25 dollars. I say yikes. Yum!! We usually go to the Walden's on Mayberry or the one in downtown but we decided to try this one and it was just as good if not better. The interior was definitely bigger and wasn't so crowded. The food was amazing like always. They had fresh squeezed OJ ( Mayberry has it and so does this place but not the one in downtown,) which I absolutely love. This is my second visit to this location and I have not been disappointed either time. The Walden's on Arlington is my usual spot, and I have been to the location on Mayberry a number of years ago. Does this make me a Walden's groupie? Possibly, but I am definitely a fan. The ambiance in this location is not quite as homey as the Mayberry or Arlington locations, but I come primarily for the food and drink. Service is good, we get what we order in a timely manner, and staff are always friendly and accommodating for our requests. This time I came with a friend and we shared a blueberry muffin and an order of "twerk it" avocado toast. We also had drinks - iced coffee for my friend, small chai latte for me. Our muffin was warmed up and made for a sweet beginning for our meal. It had a nice sponginess with lots of real blueberries and just a sprinkle of sugar on the top. Not too sweet with good flavor. The avocado toast is fantastic. Two slices of whole grain toast with a generous slather of avocado and hummus on top of the crispy bacon, then onion and roasted tomatoes, feta and pistachios with a perfectly done poached egg - solid white, runny yolk. Really a great tasting combination - rich, creamy, salty, crunchy, and quite filling. Sorry, no photo. was too busy eating and having a great chat with my bestie. So while this is not my "regular" Waldens, it is a definite option for a great bite to eat when in the area. I was down on Wells Ave around noon when it started lightly snowing. I had to burn some time before my date with this smoking little Missy and I thought to myself....Chris, you haven't had a McWalden in like three weeks! I rolled in and was greeted by staff like normal. I ordered me up the McWalden with an extra egg and a drip coffee. Found me a window seat to watch this storm play out and a few minutes later the McWalden arrived at my table. I love how the eggs are cooked just over medium so you get that yolk on the sausage! This sandwich is a Reno staple breakfast item if you're a sausage and egg fan. The sausage is on point. I've been to alot of cities for small breakfast bites, this Mac Daddy McWaldens hit you with flavor harder than Tyson in the early 1990s! Coming in I also saw a new menu item! It is the grilled green tortilla that is the bacon in the burrito, if you will (icing on the cake ya?!). You can order any meat or a combination if you're feeling wild. My second favorite is the mcwalden. Egg cheese and meat on English muffin. They serve so much bacon in it I absolutely love they don't skimp like most places. I've had a variety of items at all 3 locations including the avocado toast and the scramble. We are definitely regulars here and will forever be. The owner is a great guy with great family! Had a Sunday brunch here. They have nice small variety of menu items. We had the breakfast burrito ($10.49) which was loaded with potatoes and chicken. I got it super (+$2) which adds green chilies, sour cream and avocado. I also made it smothered (+$3) which topped it with shredded cheese, turkey chili enchilada sauce and fresh cilantro. Lastly, I also added jalapeños (+$1) it came out with a green tortilla which was very soft and fresh, just don't know about the total worth ($16.49+tax). We also got the power egg scramble ($12.99) which has chicken, baby greens, fresh basil, roasted veggies (warning if you don't like zucchini, ask to get it without), mushrooms, feta which I substituted for cheddar. I changed my fruit to potatoes on the side which were very tasty but a bit over cooked. Overall it was pretty good and I would get this again. Nice restaurant in a cornered shopping center. As soon as you walk in, it feels like a pick up and go coffee shop but in reality it is also a restaurant. There's a board with the meals of the day but there's also a menu where you can choose other meals from. I was lucky enough to take the day off and spend it with my daughter. She wanted to go eat breakfast where she had not be to before. We chose Walden's. We are not disappointed. It's on the pricey side but well worth it. The portions are big. I ordered the huevos rancheros and she ordered the tortanita. The huevos rancheros come with Turkey chili on a crispy flour tortilla. So good and filling. The tortanita had carnitas in it..and some seasoned potatoes. Those were my favorite, I stole some from her. We also ordered coffee drinks and a coffee cake. The drinks were good, the coffee cake was a little on the hard side but I think it was because it had been warmed up. The team is super nice and it seems they work as a team. Food came out promptly. This was my first visit to Waldens on wells, before I'd only been to the one off McCarran. It's located in a small shopping center and the space itself is kind of dated. It looks like it used to be a former deli or market. It's not quite as charming in location or aesthetic as McCarran Waldens. However, the service and coffee were on point. The young gal who helped us was really friendly and even helped my mom pick a comparable drink to one she likes at another well known coffee place. I didn't try any food this time but I did see a menu board with some of their popular food items. Lots of coffee options in midtown area, but this is a solid go to. read more

Food: I was absolutely blown away by the food. I thought this was just a coffeehouse? Not so! I ordered the Currito. Their vegan burrito offering. Swapped out the onions for caramelized onions and added jalapenos. Far and above the best vegan breakfast I've had in Reno so far. For once it didn't taste like a meat centered meal that someone plucked the meat out of to make it vegan. I thank you guys for a clear commitment to making quality tasting food that includes dietary restrictions. I encourage anyone ordering food here to check out the "Ingredient Options" section of the menu for a list of all the fun extras they can add. As a breakfast joint, this place is definitely 5 stars. Atmosphere: The interior has a farm house theme to the decor. The dining area inside feels much more like a breakfast joint than a coffeehouse. The tables are set up to seat groups of people, with a few two person tables near the windows. Holy pig! The tortanita is officially my new favorite sandwich and sadly there are no pics to prove it! I demolished this creation is record time, and based on its size and heft, that is a new skill I learned I have. It starts with a bolillo roll, which is a crusty Mexican roll with a soft and delicate interior. Tortas are made on these rolls often, and the soft inside soaks up all the goodness on the sandwich without falling apart. On top of the roll here is house made carnitas, avocado, lightly sautéed onion, cilantro, a delicious yellowish salsa, and some cotija. Let's start with those carnitas! So freaking good! Super tender, lightly caramelized and just the kind of thing you can't get enough of! Luckily the sandwich is loaded with them! They are a show stopper for sure, but everything else makes them even better. If you didn't know, Chef/Owner Michael has some mad skill in the kitchen! My first visit here was amazing!! I got a dirty iced chai that was by far the best one I've ever had and an avocado toast, which was equally as amazing. On my second visit again got the dirty ice chai and a sourdough breakfast sandwich that was by far one of the best things I've ever eaten. My husband had the breakfast burrito which he says is by far one of the best ones he has eaten. The one thing I will say is my first visits customer service experience was hands-down amazing which made me want to come back, but my second visit was less than stellar. The girls seem to be more interested in watching videos on their phone and talking on their phones, then dealing with the customers.
