They used to be good but it seems they followed the general trend or decline like other pharmacies in the area. There are long lines most of the time, and even in the absence of lines, they'll waste a lot of your time because the prescriptions are not ready when they say they would be or there is some other issue. Spent 32 minutes yesterday on hold and then was finally disconnected. I was trying to find out something about my prescription that was on backorder. I tried this morning via the Robo Call to refill the prescription and was told it could not be refilled. I've had no contact with them regarding next steps. I take a medication daily but was unable to do so yesterday. I'll probably go there today and just stand in line in order to talk with someone as the phone system seems inoperable. Do not go there. Have been using this pharmacy for over ten years now. It is often long wait. I tolerate it because the pharmacists and staff have been very helpful. Recently they seemed to have a new pharmacist and staff. Today I went there for an emergency refill as my mom's medicine refill request has not been approved by the RN and she run out. After the wait, switch between windows with a clueless staff directing people to places, effectively increase the thrash etc., I got my emergency refill. I proceed to ask if it is possible to either also send the request to the doctor or just send it to the doctor instead to expedite the process. The pharmacist (an asian man) said no to both - Once they send a request they could not change it so have to wait for it to expire in the system. We are talking about a blood thinner for an elder in her eighties. The emergency refill is only a three-day supply. This is such BS. At least they are not the only pharmacy in town. read more

Terrible experience for the Walgreen pharmacy at this location. 1 star is just for today's experience I made an appointment for my booster vaccine for my husband and me. I got a confirmation email and a text message for this appointment. However, when I arrived today, the staff told me there exists no vaccine today but tomorrow. Then I asked could you please help make the appointment tomorrow? The staff mentioned I could make an appointment but still no guarantee that I will get one tomorrow. If no guarantee, what's the point of appointment please? Then staff mentioned that she won't work tomorrow so she has no idea??? Also the staff attitude is super un friendly. This is the closest pharmacy to our house. They literally mess up our Rx every time. After a recent series of health issues, I have needed to have several Rx's filled. The first time it was not filled as they did not have the proper insurance info despite already giving it to them. Not a big deal. Two days later, same problem. I told them this happened last time so please correct the misinformation. Rather than go back home, I waited 1 hour for the Rx to be filled. Three days later, same thing. Are you serious? Once again, I waited another 45 min. Today, was the last straw. I called to confirm before picking up my RX, yet when I arrived, not only was the Rx not ready as promised, they told me that I need to call my Insurance before giving me my meds and ask if I it's okay to get it in capsule form Seriously? read more

Today's experience was particularly bad at the pharmacy at this location. As usual the line to pickup prescriptions was four person deep. But it gets worse. The pharmacist, Bo Y., lets a woman cut the entire line because she is upset. They don't have all of her prescriptions ready so she is upset and leaves in a hissy fit saying she will be transferring to another pharmacy. I am next in line for this pharmacist and she pushes me aside for another person who was waiting. When I tell her that she let the woman cut in front of us, she gets belligerent with me. Clearly, she was taking out her frustrations on me. Bo Y. starts handling the order for the other person so I wait for the pharmacy technician to finish with another customer. When she is done, I start my transaction and start telling her that Bo Y. let the woman cut the line in front of 2-3 people. Bo Y. overhears the conversation and, to spite me, instructs the technician not to get my prescriptions and to go in the back. She then goes back to the other customer and tells me to wait for her. Finally, she comes to get my prescriptions and she is curt with me. No apologies for her behavior...no apologies for letting the woman cut the line. As I complain about the service, she basically says that she does not want to hear it anymore and tells me to shut up...she tells the customer to shut up! I take her name and, after the transaction, I talk to the pharmacy manager. He listens but doesn't indicate what action he will take. All this drama to pick up my prescriptions! Ugh! Online price says one thing, store has 200% markup. When I noticed the next day, of course, I threw away the receipt. Never seen this before with any other store advertising through app or website. But walgreens has small print that says prices may differ in store. Went to complain, I knew I wouldnt get my money back and wasnt asking for it, I just wanted to make a point about how this is horrible customer service. Manager does not apologize, gives me attitude. My 'new to me' Dr. gave me a prescription after getting all the diagnosis from Quest Diagnostics for a supplement that you can't get over the counter or off the shelf for that matter. Apparently my new Dr. had sent my prescription to the Walgreens in another state. So they canceled that order through their computer system and proceeded to fill out mine. When it came time to pay I gave them my new shiny Covered CA card and for some reason would not give them a copay in their system! So after all that the very nice person asked if I had a AAA card, which I did and gave me a discount using that! This was exemplary on their part for going above and beyond anything I expected. Terrible service at pharmacy. Then a blame customer message. They notified me my prescription was ready, but didn't tell me they only had half of it. They then told me it was my responsibility to call or drive to other Walgreens to see if it was in stock at other stores. My review is for the store, not the pharmacy. Ordered toilet paper same-day delivery early Sat morning. We needed toilet paper so i opted for substitution with any brand if out of stock upon placing the order. The order was cancelled a little while later due to, get this, "out of stock". I called to store and asked them to fill the order with substitution. Had to speak to several different people. They either told me to re-order, "system wouldn't allow substitution", or a flat-out "I don't know". No one showed any intention to help until a gentleman who told me to place an order again and he'd personally fill my order with substation. So i placed another order, then a little while later got an email saying an adjustment had been made to my order. I was so grateful that someone made good with his words until i read the email carefully -- my toilet paper was substituted with paper towels. At that point, really wasn't sure i should be upset or amused. Called the store and a different who was aware my previous cancelled order simply asked "Now you don't like what we gave you?" I tried very hard holding back my complex emotions and asked politely, "Do you use them for the same purpose?" He then went talked to the other guy and said he'll substitute it with toilet paper. Well, my Sat same-day delivery didn't arrive until Monday morning (though they advertise 7 days same day deliveries). The kicker is I did get the exact brand and size of toilet paper i ordered. I got my flu shot from Jeff today. He was great. Very happy with all the new pharmacy employees. Thank yo so much!! I have been shopping here since Los Altos Pharmacy closed (thanks to Wallgreens) but today's service was appalling. I got here early so I could pop in and out quickly. There were no cars in the parking lot. Just two men sitting on the short wall smoking. Okay, I held my breath and hurried in. No line at the pharmacy and three clerks behind the counter. I thought this would be quick and easy. Credit card in hand, ready to go. The three clerks were in deep discussion. All glanced over and went back to their activity. Okay, a few minutes go by. I'm not that patient. I'm looking at the clock and now it's 5 minutes. Exactly. I ask for help. Finally, one clerk comes over and I gave her my name. I know it's been filled for a few days. She actually finds the bin but another clerk comes over and they get back into their discussion. Just standing there, finally I ask her to "Please focus." She's not happy and snaps, "I am!" Actually, this is the complete opposite of focused. I really like the pharmacist, John. I do not appreciate the clerks here. I do not like wasting time. I'm not surprised there is usually an excruciatingly long line. I really miss the small local stores. read more

Absolute worst pharmacy in the Bay Area. Even if it's ready for pickup, expect to wait in line 30minutes at the very least. There is always a line for the pharmacy because the service is absolutely horrible. They never seem to care that there are customers in line. read more

The pharmacy here is a joke, they don't prefill your prescriptions and ask you to wait 20 minutes when you have multiple due and their brains can't process the fact that since you physically showed up in person you would like all of them at the same time so you have to wait again for them to finish them all. I believe the staff needs to go through extensive training both for quality assurance (not giving the wrong Rx, which happened several times) and also for customer service. The way the pharmacy manager "John" and some of his staff treat customers is not acceptable. In the past, I complained even up to headquarters, but it seems they don't care! I came here about a month ago and had wanted to purchase a few items. I roamed around for a few minutes before I spotted what I wanted. When I was ready to pay, I went to the beauty counter. The cashier was very friendly. Unfortunately, two of my coupons wouldn't scan and she wouldn't manually enter them. I just got off the phone with someone from the Pharmacy and I have to say it was a very unpleasant experience. They didn't schedule my 6-year old for his second dose covid vaccine and for some reason I was not able to make the appointment online. I called the pharmacy to schedule. The guy answered the phone was grumpy from the first second. He couldn't find my son's record for the first dose. I was a little confused because I had the immunization card right in front of me and the appointment was only on Monday and fresh in my memory. Despite my clear information about the first dose (already happened) with appointment time down to the minute, he looked in the system for a time next week and then in December - it was very bizarre. After what felt like forever (I was on hold for over 20 minutes before getting to a real person), he finally told me he couldn't find my son's name and the appointment was under a different name - which was my name. I told him that I did it because my son is a minor. The guy then openly complained about he doesn't know why people'd do that (?!). It is unbelievable - my son had the vaccine; we have the immunization card; and he couldn't find a record of the shot administered anywhere in their system (?) and blamed it on me because I booked the appointment "wrong?!" Then he scheduled the second shot without asking me for time preference and selected a time that is right in the middle of a school day. When I asked him to change, he seemed very unhappy. I gave this two stars because we got the second appointment. The whole experience was SO unpleasant that I had to ask him if he was having a bad day. My question was of course met with complete silence. I hope his day will improve and I hope the store finds a way to improve. read more

I hate to say it, but this pharmacy is now worse than ever. The last few times I have gone to pick up my prescriptions, they never ran my insurance, so I was charged full price. I had an appointment for a COVID shot at 11:45 today. I arrived at 11:40 and waited in line to check in. A few minutes later I was given a form to fill in. It is now 12:20 and I'm still waiting. They don't have a very efficient process and there is only one line regardless of whether you have an appointment or are dropping off or picking up prescriptions or simply have questions for the pharmacist. This is an excellent neighborhood pharmacy. We have used this pharmacy for most prescription medication needs regularly for the past 15 years. The staff turnover is very low and the staff is service-oriented but, more importantly, competent. John runs a tight ship. Medication availability issues almost never occur. When it was my turn and I got up to the counter, I asked for my prescription refill (that I had called in earlier that day). She checked the computer and they had no record of my call but seeing that I had already waited so long and my crestfallen countenance upon hearing that they had no record of my call, she went and filled the prescription herself on the spot....and there were literally 10 people in the queue behind me...Great employee and she deserves a raise. :-) read more

I have received mixed experiences in this location. The ladies at the makeup counter tend to be super positive and helpful which is why I go in. I can order what I need online but I enjoy supporting the people who run brick and mortar store fronts. Today when I checked out, I was received by a girl with major attitude. I waited in line behind an older gentleman. She asked him whether or not he wanted to use his $3 off. He asked her to repeat what she was asking because he didn't understand what that meant in terms of how he achieved the discount. She responded by raising her voice, yelling very loudly, "You save $3! Do you want it or not?!" He apologized for not understanding and said that he would accept it. Next was my turn. I walked through debit/credit card prompts on the screen but wanted to get cash out. I didn't see the option pop up and asked if I could still get cash out. She huffed and said, "you should've known to press that option before hand." I said, "I didn't see it pop up like it usually does. I was waiting on the prompt when it gives you the option to accept the amount or add the cash back option and it didn't come up." She stared back at me and stated that it did and it must've come up and that I obviously wasn't paying close enough attention. I wasn't sure how to respond because I was so taken back by her brazen, rude and sassy attitude that I walked away. I saw that there was an ATM so I got cash out. I was ready to leave when I thought to myself, "no this is ridiculous that this person is treating their clientele like this." I asked her for management and she called someone named Michael over the sound system. Michael never showed up. I walked out of there 15 minutes later, appalled with spending my time and money for that experience. Statistically, people are frequenting brick and mortar store fronts less: retail is down and online shopping is up. Those who continue to shop the store fronts, do so because they're getting something you cannot online: quality Human interaction and personable help. I won't be returning to Walgreens; I can find what I need on Amazon without the attitude which is incredibly disappointing. read more
