On 4/18/23 around 9pm my friend and I were aggressively racially profiled in this store. After being in the store for about 5 minutes a man (I'm assuming the manager) came up to us and accused us of stealing and very rudely demanded we leave. When pressed about what in the world he was talking about he gestured to my friend who is Black and claimed he'd seen her come in with a group of others that steal from them often. We put our things down and walked to the front to leave because we didn't want to deal with their hostility but before we did I asked the cashier and manager if they were serious about this because my friend and I were enraged. The cashier said she hadn't seen my friend's face only her hair (which is in a protective hairstyle) and thought she was the alleged thief just based on that BUT on a second glance my friend was "much less dark" than the woman she was thinking of. The manager then said "Hey, we're not in the wrong here." which I found quite funny. When asked for his name he refused to give it because he didn't want us to write a bad review. Well maybe next time don't be racist and then you can avoid terrible reviews all together. I hope you both get fired. read more

Unfortunately, I'm not the only person having issues with this pharmacy. I called to see if I can get a nozzle for my spray in which my dog bit off, and was told I had to get a new rx. I just need the spray as the medication is still good. The prior person was able to help me and get it refilled, but I had to leave out of town unexpectedly and it went back. Called again and this time, a lady named Mitha was helping and she was just so rude. Said she couldn't do it when I explained it was just done in November. She told me she doesn't have time to deal with this and said she had to go. Wow, just straight up rude. Guess they're not paid for their time to help others. From reading the other Yelp reviews, it appears there's one thing we all agree to is that this pharmacy hires RUDE pharmacists. How is one person able to refill when another can't? It's apparent that it's subjective what they're able to do and who's doing it for you. This lady was not nice. I'm not sure if she's the pharmacist since she commented she was not the pharmacist that did it last time, which lead me to believe she is a pharmacist. I've decided to avoid this Walgreens after several bad experiences. There are many other drugstores I can go to within a mile radius, why go here? Some of the pharmacy workers are kind of rude and talk smack about the customers that come in as soon as they leave. I would know because I was observing in the waiting area to get my prescription filled and could hear them loud and clear. Communication is something lacking here between customers and workers, and among the workers as well because they can get pretty disorganized. The rest of the staff is ok, pretty friendly. This was where I always stopped first to get my school supplies back in the day and my makeup, which they have a decent selection of for the small location. Closest convenience store to me but I'd rather take my prescriptions to CVS from now on. read more

2.5 stars for the pharmacy department, 3.5 for the store. The pharmacy department always has long waits. No matter when I come, I seem to be told 20 minutes for prescription but have to wait 40. Or if I call in my order and come to pick it up when they call me, then I always seem to get there when there are a billion people in line ahead of me. Soda luck. Store has limited selection, I'm used to the city ones with so many options. This one isn't that large, but the customer service is prompt. Whenever I have to push that little button for service, (razor blades) someone appears within a few seconds and are super helpful. When the lines get too long they're quick to open the they register or have someone at other departments call you over, which I appreciate. read more

I tried to fill my prescription yesterday. I tried. I went to Walgreens at 11 and they asked if I wanted to wait for them to fill the prescription. I asked how long it would take to count the 1 pill into a bottle and was told half an hour. I said I didn't want to wait and decided I would come back later. Good thing I did because it took until 1:30 for them to fill that one pill prescription (they helpfully sent me several notices of this). When I asked how busy they generally were at 4:30, I thought the question would be easy to answer. Despite working there presumably on a regular basis, the response was a shrug and "we can't say." I don't believe that. I think they can say. I think based upon their experience of being there on a semi-regular basis, they can say whether 4:30 is one of their busy times. Important, and unmentioned by these dispensers of information, was the fact that the pharmacist apparently takes lunch from 4:30 to 5:30 at a facility that likely gets the vast majority of its customers as they head home at that time. It would have been nice had they mentioned this when I specifically asked how busy it would be at 4:30. Instead, I went back at 4:30, I (and others) were told with an indifferent shrug that the pharmacist was at lunch and so they couldn't fill the prescription. I said I would waive any consult and really just wanted the pill so I did not have to come back. The response was a not so whole-hearted "sorry, the pharmacist has to be here to fill the prescription" and now familiar indiffernt shrug. When I asked if they would just mail it since they advertise that everywhere, I was told no. I'm not sure why to be honest, so apparently their indifference was contagious (do they sell pills for that? If so, you can't get the prescription filled there...). I walked out. I won't bother wasting any more time trying to fill prescriptions here. Two stars instead of one because there was generally parking in the area. Probably because no one goes to the Walgreen's, a pharmacy that doesn't fill prescriptions. read more

I live in Vacaville, but have been using this Walgreen for medications if I run out of something, or an up in the ER for something. The pharmacy is always great! Not to mention, there superquick! 75% of the regular workers in the store are nice, and the remaining 25 employees are there constantly! You can never find anyone to help you, but since I really need help finding something, this rarely applies for me. When it comes to their phones, they're wonderful! I called in this morning so I have something put on hold for my 10-year-old son, and when I went to pick it up it was right there waiting for me. I'm not sure that words can do justice to how blatantly disappointed in Walgreens after this experience, both as a corporation and as a specific location. I went into the building having ordered a poster board the night before online. Their machines in store offer poster board orders and so does their location online. They even advertise their same day pickup...how about never pick up? After waiting to ask the employee a quick question for five minutes, realizing he wasn't ever going to acknowledge I was there, I went to stand in line for 10 minutes. Finally getting to the front of the line, my efforts were fruitless and hopes dashed when they told me (after looking for it for a while?) that they DON'T actually print poster boards at this location because "it broke." All I got was a "Try North Main Walgreens, have a good day." They didn't even ask if I had prepaid online so they could refund me. Walgreens as a company should have something on their website for locations that CAN'T PRINT THINGS that you can order online. I am probably going to stop shopping there simply because of the sheer incompetence I faced this afternoon, and the lack of customer support I was offered. For the third time in a row, I have had troubles with poster enlargements at the Walgreens on Ygnacio Valley Road in Walnut Creek, CA. Their photo department does not seem well run. Today an email said the poster was done, but after driving to the store, it was not. That has happened multiple times in the past. The quality of the posters is also poor, with the color balance being the main problem. I would so appreciate having the quality of this photo department raised to that of the other Walgreens, to which I am forced to travel. read more

This is to the senior Walgreens management. We have been going to Walgreens for many years at their old location and new one both at the Encina Grande shopping center. First we want to thank the pharmacy staff, they are the best! However, you need to hire more people. At the old location we were able to get through the line at a good clip. Now, it seems there are never enough staff to assist the customers. The pharmacists are even answering the drive up window. Please help your staff. We really don't want to switch to CVS however if things don't change, we will. Unfortunately things didn't change and we had to go to CVS after being a patron for 23 years. I came looking for the usual amount of random things I need at home, and one of the Shift Leads Sarah helped me find everything I needed with a amazingly friendly demeanor. I must have asked a million silly questions but she answered all of them and that's what a lead would do! Jawad also helped me figure out how my coupons worked and pick out the best candy! Then Maria rang me up at the counter and found my photos for me very quickly, I was so impressed! I feel it is my duty to say something when I see folks unmasked and not following social distancing. I said you should really put your mask on. Avoid this store. I dropped a prescription off at 11:00, and was willing to wait. They would have to call pharmacy at UC Berkeley to confirm prescription. I was told it would take too long, they would call me when it was ready. I told them I wanted to pick it up at 4:00. I called at 4:00, was on hold 30 minutes for the pharmacy, mind you they did pick up the phone, I heard laughing in the background so I said "Hello?" and was immediately put back on hold again. When she finally came on the phone she said they couldn't get ahold of the UC Berkeley pharmacy, which is not true. She said they couldn't get through to confirm. So, I called the UC Berkeley pharmacy, who picked up on the 2nd ring. Needless to say, I asked the UC Berkeley pharmacy to call Walgreens to get this going. Never again, lessen learned. My business and my money will not be going to people who lie to me. Too bad, as I work across the street. I will now be driving across town instead of going to this Walgreens. Tip to the manager. I like this Walgreens. It is convenient and well stocked. However, I cannot give it more than a "meh-I've experienced better" due to some of the staff - not ALL of the employees. But a few rotten eggs make the whole carton stink. Multiple times, I've been the only one in line at the front cashier. I have a multitude of products in hand, including a bottle of shampoo, pencils, maybe a Red Bull, etc. The cashier tells me I need to go to cosmetics to make my purchase because of the bottle of shampoo. There is no cashier in cosmetics. The front cashier pages an employee for help in cosmetics. I stand there. Customers come up to the front register and she's checks them out. I'm still standing there watching the cashier check other people out. She looks at me and pages someone to cosmetics again. She continues checking people out. I'm livid. The cosmetics cashier finally appears and I have to silently make the purchase because otherwise I will start cursing and swearing at an innocent cashier who has no idea that the front cashier does not understand customer service. I now buy shampoo and any "cosmetic" items elsewhere. Whomever the manager is of this location needs to educate employees on costumer service. It is ridiculous to send any customer to a barren cash register and then merrily check everyone else out. read more

I asknif it's ok to come in and get what I need. YES! Come inside! I shop for what I need...get to the register and am told they can't take any purchases..yet they're letting more customers in the store...not telling them they're wasting their time. Dude with access to register tills shows up to work LATE bc he had to take his gf to work. Excuse me? Have you ever heard of Uber or Lyft? Why let customers in the darn store when no one is here to OPEN the store? Now they're "ready" but dont know why the registers are all frozen. Hello? Maybe bc you tripped your store alarm!??? STIP letting more people in this store! They're still coming inside this place! I decide to run to the restroom right quick and OMG they have not had this thing cleaned in weeks! Worse than any dirty Walmart restroom you've ever seen and not new dirty...weeks old dirty. The dirt and hair buildup all over the commode makes me wanna throw up. Paper towels??? Oh. They're sitting on the nasty diaper changing station. Looks like somethig died in the sink. Finally! The register is working back in the pharmacy which is where I tried to purchase in the 1st place! When I explained my frustration, with regard to letting so many customers come in the store, knowing they couldn't make purchases, to the dude with access to money, his response was, "well I didn't know the registers were going to be frozen until I opened them." Maybe if you were at work ON TIME, all this would have been fixed BEFORE ticking your customers off! Clean your gosh darn bathrooms by the way! I'm sure you have some sorry excuse for that as well. Not only have I personally had problems with her several times while waiting in line I have overheard others talking about how rude she is. The store manager should start worrying about losing customers to other pharmacies in the area if she does not learn people skills quickly. Worst pharmacy ever do not use them unless you want to be disappointed. It is one excuse after the next for why a prescription is never ready. Dealt with them for three weeks and every interaction was worst than the one before they are worthless. Go to the CVS on Brancroft they actually fill prescriptions on time and do it right the first time. Also encountered three other people yelling at them for messing up their prescriptions and now I know why. If getting your prescriptions on time is important go somewhere else. read more

I had a rough experience with the store manager when I returned holiday cards that were cut badly. Initially my order had to be delivered incomplete because their cutting machine broke. I took a half inch of uncut cards to cut at home (no discount was offered) and I went on my merry way. Upon arriving at home I saw the cut cards left a white margin on the right side and cut off the H in Holiday on the left along with a photo on that edge. I returned to the store and I asked for a manager expecting they would offer me a timeline for re-doing the cards but didn't get that far. When I tried to show the manager what had happened I stated, "Your machine cut my cards funky". That elicited a response of "First of all, it's not my machine and you are being hostile...". She was more than defensive projecting her own hostility. I wasn't interested in conflict and when she left the counter to do I don't know what I asked another clerk to refund me which she did. I won't go back to that location again. It was very upsetting to have the "manager" speak to me that way. The rest of the staff looked shocked and were nice. I feel sorry for the staff there and hope the manager was just having a bad day because it can't be good being employed there if she's like that all the time. read more
