Great decor, good food, nice view and service. Not sure why so many dock it. Taste: 4/5 Ambiance: 4.5/5 Service: 5/5 Value for money: 3.5/5 We had: 1) Calamari: great way to start 2) Oysters: nice and fresh 3) Connecticut lobster roll: done right 4) Firecracker burger: this was firecracker rock shrimp, a sweet paste on deep fried shrimp that was placed in a burger. It was okay! 5) baked fish 6) grilled shrimp with risotto: pretty good!

Hidden Gem on Long Island, at least I thought so, I'm telling everyone I know what a great night we had and everyone knows already and says we love it there. Well if you want to feel you're on beach vacation without flying out to the Caribbean this is the place for you. You have the option on eating right on the beach. First come first serve , reservations are for parties 8 and over and made through the catering manager, Frank. There is only nature's natural music of small waves hitting the shore.. wear sandals or flip flops and get your toes in the sand and make sure you have a cool drink in your hand. Watch the boats, jet ski's and the most romantic and beautiful sunsets this side of Marco. This is why you come to Wall's Wharf to escape reality and all the noise. Food is very good, great Pork Chop and the firecracker shrimp cheese burger is a must. Start with delicious baked stuffed clams.. plenty of mozzarella in these clams. Homemade key-lime pie a must have , you'll definitely believe you're away on vacation. Restaurant start getting very busy by 6pm. Service is good not great and definitely check your bill before you pay. 4% discount on cash payment. Highly recommend

Been coming here for years and have never been disappointed. Got here early to eat and watch the sunset. We were greeted when we walked in and seated immediately outside. Our waitress greeted us and offered us drinks. I got an aperol and it was made just right. We ordered a hummus appetizer with hot honey drizzled over it. It was so good. The hummus portion was very generous. To eat I had to have the mussels in red sauce. It's a huge portion and they are always fresh and flavorful. Husband got the fried shrimp salad. It was so good but could have had maybe a few more shrimp. The wait staff is so attentive and agile.

The atmosphere is all this place really has going for it. $45 for a teeny tiny lobster roll with tough and flavorless meat is not worth the views at all. To add insult to injury: the baked clams come in an order of 5 and not 6 or 12 like you would typically find in any restaurant.

Where else can you eat an old meal, have drinks, directly on the beach on the North shore? HERE, that's where. One of the best locations, Bayville. Totally chill and relaxing. Starring at Stamford CT. Food was good. New England clam chowder very good... more like a seafood chowder, but great. The service was very kind and good.

Really great environment. And I ordered the chicken one It is great. I remember one server is speaking mandarin and very sweet. And we were there just after the rain. So it was a really exciting and cozy time to see the sunset and enjoy the food.

The orange dragon roll wasn't great but nothing to really complain about just subpar. the jazz roll on the other hand, was inedible. I had to spit it out. I could tell from first looks that something was off. the spicy tuna on top looked nothing like the photo, it was gray and brown in color. The roll that has shrimp tempura didn't have any ends/tails on it and tasted like it it could've been cooked days/weeks ago, tasted like the inside of a fridge. Everything was extremely fishy and old. I called up to let the Owner know, but he didn't seem to care or worry about the food safety. Do not recommend. Edit to respond to owner: I want to note that the tone of your response here is very different from how the conversation went on the phone. It feels like you're trying to present things more carefully now, which was not my experience during our call. After speaking with you on the phone, I did not feel that my concerns about the fish were taken seriously. I eat sushi 2-3 times a week, and I have never encountered fish with that kind of taste before. Additionally, the shrimp tempura did not seem fresh - it was soggy and had an off taste, almost like it had been sitting in a refrigerator. When food is bad enough that someone has to spit it out, that's a clear sign it isn't fresh.

As soon as we walked in, we were warmly greeted by Melinda, one of our favorite waitresses, and were seated right away. May, who was also working tonight, promptly came over to take our order. She politely asked if we needed menus, but I declined since we already knew exactly what we wanted. We've had this same exchange with May quite a few times during our recent visits. We ordered our usual: the Sushi for Two, which comes with two specialty rolls and 18 pieces of sushi. Tonight we chose the Dozo Dozo and the Futomaki Special rolls. The meal also comes with either soup or salad, and tonight we both chose the soup. That's how much we love this dish. We had just returned from a two-week trip to South Florida this past Saturday, and the very next day--Sunday--we came here and ordered the exact same meal. And here we are again tonight doing the same. This restaurant consistently serves some of the freshest, premium-quality fish around. Tonight's 18 pieces included bluefin tuna, O-toro, king salmon, scallops, sea bass, red snapper, fluke, yellowtail, and Spanish mackerel. Every piece was tender and incredibly fresh. Yes, the price reflects the quality--but you absolutely get what you pay for. In my experience, there are not many sushi restaurants on Long Island that consistently serve fish of this caliber. We left once again completely satisfied, which is exactly why this place remains one of our weekly go-to spots.

This was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had…read more I placed a takeout order and, when I arrived, the chef behind the counter immediately assumed I was an Uber Eats or delivery driver and told me to leave. I explained that I was there to pick up my own order, but was then told they don't do takeout and was directed next door to collect my "pickup order." After leaving confused, I called the restaurant to find out where my food actually was. Only then was I told to come back because my order had been there the entire time. The entire process was disorganized, unprofessional, and completely avoidable. What made the experience especially upsetting was that I was treated as though I didn't belong there from the moment I walked in. It felt like I was being stereotyped based on my appearance, and I left feeling embarrassed and disrespected. Whether intentional or not, that's how the interaction came across, and it ruined the experience before I even received my food. As for the food, the uni tasted old and lacked freshness. The scallops were mediocre at best--I'd rate them a C. The sashimi assortment was the only highlight, as it was fresh and flavorful. I had originally hoped to return for the dine-in experience, but after the way I was treated, I have absolutely no interest in ever coming back. No meal is worth being made to feel unwelcome. There are too many restaurants that value their customers and know how to treat people with basic respect.

However, this will be my absolute last time at Kotobuki in Roslyn, as someone who's been countless times. We came hungry and ordered relatively quickly. We waited at least 30 minutes for our Kani salad which was surprising, since it's in most of their dishes. Unfortunately, it was inedible. The only thing I can compare it to texture-wise is the crinkle paper they put in gift bags. We sent it back and had to wait again to get a menu and reorder. We were surprised there was not a care from the waiters to make it right. They also mentioned that everyone had been complaining about the Kani and did nothing about it. Our sushi took an hour to come out, and my friend rolls were incorrect. She mentioned it to the waiter and got her food taken back to correct it. When she got her new, correct order from our waiter, not only was the order still wrong, the plate was super dirty and a hair was on her plate. At this point, with the lack of service, attention, and inedible food we called over the manager who apologized and offered to make the new rolls himself. He did it quick, and though it was a nice gesture, at this point we were so put off from the hair we couldn't finish our meals and were ready to leave. They comped the Kani salads (which we sent back) but to our surprise nothing else was taken care of. I wasn't expecting a $0 bill, but to pay over $50 for a pretty horrific meal and experience also rubbed me the wrong way. Do yourself a favor and support other Japanese restaurants that have the fish quality, affordability, and attention to customers that Kotobuki lacks with their new turnover in management.
