Auto-Center This is a review for the auto center only. I actually don't live around here but came back because I like the people at this particular center. The workers are friendly and they tell you straight up if something is going on with your car, or if they are authorized to take care of a particular service. Not sure how this Walmart managed to get a low rating. I stopped by today and found it a smooth and easy going shopping experience. We needed some help finding an item and an employee stopped and helped us locate the item. The employee went out his way to walk us over to locate it! The check out process was easy and quick. I do not appreciate being treated like a criminal here! I purchased two items that were locked away in a cabinet. A lady came to get them out for me and she was rude. I told her don't close it because I have to read the ingredients. She said to me don't touch the items inside the cabinet. insinuating I'm going to steal something right in front of her face! Then she said are you done with your shopping? I said no- she said well then I have to take them up to the register I said are you kidding me? I said do you think I'm going steal them etc. what about all the other items in my cart etc. ? I walked immediately up to the register somehow she followed me over there and handed them to the cashier. I told him I want to speak to the manager. I gave him back most of what I had planned to purchase and told him I don't appreciate being treated like a criminal and that she would not allow me to take these items in the cart. So a manager came over eventually and said they're just following what they're told to do. I said they are fascists. I will be complaining to the CEO of walmart ASAP. I never experienced this at any of the other Walmart where they have items locked away. These are not small items so if someone was trying to steal them it would be next to impossible. I'm going to be curtailing any shopping that I do here in the future and will start shopping elsewhere for the most part. It's very unpleasant, and it has been going in that directions for a few years at least. While there are some nice people working here, many of the employees, especially some of the younger ones are extremely rude and arrogant. I have been shopping here and at other locations far longer than any of these people have been working here. read more

Walmart of East Setauket car care center. My daughter who goes to Stony Brook University got stuck with a real low almost flat tire. We purchased new tires at Walmart and purchased the tire warranty. My daughter who is a volunteer emergency med tech had just gotten off an overnight shift and seen her tire was super low. She made it to East Setauket Walmart Auto center and was greeted by a rude man who stated sorry we will not fix ur tire. When my daughter advised the employee that there were no cars being worked on and three guys just sitting and eating. He laughter and said oh well make an appointment. We tried contacting a store manager to rectify this but after a 30 min wait we were told no store manager was on duty for this day. What a UNSAFE situation. She was sent away with a nail in her tire and told to drive that way and make an appointment for later in the day as she watched the employees eat breakfast not repairing any cars in the bay or in the area of Automotive center. What a let down. It's times like these where you wanna trust a corporate store for your child's car. :( read more

One of the worst car service in the area, had purchased my tires here and also bought extended services (life time tire balance/rotation). Every time I come here, all the employees seem so confused, if they show up to work at all. If you go to a normal shop, you tell them why your there and they take your key and get to it but here you stand on line for 15 minutes before someone even acknowledged your presence, pondering why you came here. They have several lifts but only one seems to working at a time, and it's always the one in the rear where you can't see what services are actually being performed. Makes me think they half ass the job, not sure why they go out of their way to take your car the furthest away from your view. So I just went to this Walmart 2 mins from my house to use the Coinstar.. and guess what to no avail it's for full and cannot be used! Same problem near Christmas, and the same problem at the other nearby location during Christmas time.. so I walked myself up to customer service and simply ask Mrs. Karie-Marie or whatever her name was if I could simply exchange my 16 quarters 5 dimes, 5 nickels and a couple Pennie's for exact cash at her register since the machine was full. She said "no I cannot do that and I'm in the middle of a transition right now" side note the gentleman in front of me had stepped away and went outside and told her he'd back so I thought it was fine to approach her register as their wasn't anyone occupying the line at that moment. I had said "okay is there anywhere else I could get cash in the store?" And she said "no your going to have same issue we cannot open the register without someone making a purchase.. which is completely understandable Walmart wouldn't want people having access to their registers without making a cash transition.. I told the woman that "I had come near Christmas time and the machine was also full and I had gone to another location and it was also full" she explained that " Walmart doesn't own the machine, it was a holiday so they are busy and there's only a certain amount of room in the machine. Which again all understandable points, however yes it was a holiday but most other business ran according to plan.. this may not be Walmart itself but whoever is in charge of running cokinstar or running the machines from Walmart is not doing their job, because all 3 of the machines I've been to since mid December have been full and not able To be used. I also told her Walmart should not be promoting or "offering the use" of these machines in their stores if 6-9 months out of the year they full or out of order.. I barely ever come to this Walmart.. or any others in general, their products are lack luster and I feel a weird industrial vibe when shopping them like I'm in a BJ's wholesale or a Sam's club.. rather go to target and pay higher prices any day, it's unfortunate because I used to throughly enjoy using coinstair, but looks like those days have come to a end considering it's always full.. so long Walmart in setauket and Coinstar! read more

This walmarts location manager of the name "Stacy"is the most rude and inconsiderate person i have ever known of. she is an older woman that is stuck working at walmart just to be extremely impolite and treats the people under her like complete garbage. she tried so hard to get one of my family members fired (as this was his first job and he did everything she asked 100% of the time) and unfortunately she won the battle. for one, she couldn't even address him by the proper name and often called him completely different names and put him on the schedule for a shift HE NEVER WORKS and didn't make him aware of it. when he then looked up his upcoming shifts, his schedule was blank, again never was informed on what was happening. then when he went in the next day for his normal scheduled shift, she made him wait over an hour just to fire him for missing the previous shift. she has no compassion and should be reevaluated for the current position she is in because by no means is she competent of doing her job correctly. read more

This is my local Walmart. Prior to it being built a number of years ago we would go to the Centereach Walmart. Let me just say that I'm glad this one is here. I'm at this Walmart three to four times a week. It's easy for me to access on the way to my office. You can get just about anything here, but don't expect high end products. Also, it's not a Super Walmart so you won't see a large supermarket within the store. This is my reason for 4 stars. As I said I'm here three to four mornings per week and as a result get to see the greeter and regular cashiers. Tonight I went in to pick up s couple of things for my car and s couple of snacks. On the way out I was stopped by the greeter to check my bag and receipt. I was s little taken back. I don't think I fit the profile of someone shoplifting, but maybe they're having issues. OK I don't like it but I understand so check away young man. I'll still be back mornings and if you need to check my bag go right ahead. BTW when I checked in Yelp told me Billy Salts was also there. This is our hometown Walmart. I was first exposed to Walmart visiting my dad in upstate NY. It was a super duper MEGA Walmart! There is nothing around for miles and they just plopped this mega store where everyone shops for a gallon of milk to clothing. This Walmart is somewhat in the middle. They do sell food items but its not as large as BJ's next door. You'll see me here early mornings in sweats, with my Starbucks in hand grabbing dog food, toothpaste or a gallon of milk. I like coming here for small items because the lines move quickly. If you have kids, they positioned the McDonalds in the front of the store. Enjoy! read more

One of the better Walmart locations in Suffolk county. I love the bakery / party supply section and clearance section. I started obsessing over the amazing baked creation videos people make on Instagram. So I shopped this section and gave it a shot on my first cooking video. I got a turntable to spin the cake around. Sparkle cardboard cake holders to place the cake on. Icing, colored sugar sprinkle, colored candy & jolly ranchers to melt into a cake topper. It came out pretty well & my friend absolutely loved it when I brought it to her party. Everyone was asking about it. This stores party section is amazing and I love seeing what's new there. read more

I love the prices of Walmart I don't go there so often because it's pretty much far for me but when I do I load up.

I come here all the time and I often think about when I got a tire changed here and the lady at the front desk told me they didn't have a "lug nut" to put the spare back on the car. If you know anything about how to put a spare back on a toyota sienna, no lugnut is required and also lugnut isn't even the proper terminology. Obviously they just didn't wanna put it back on but that's walmart auto techs for ya. I tell my family members this story because it's quite funny! I also went home and put the spare back on myself anyways since you need a tire changer machine to fix a messed up tire but only two hands and a brain to put a spare back on. read more

This wal-mart was ok. It had a pretty big christmas section. I went to meet my cousin. She had the same winter hat as me. I said to myself, oh hell naw. I got a cooler winter hat for five dollars. I also got a new hand mixer. There was also this nice employee that was like my personal shopper, I guessed she wasn't busy and she basically kept helping me all around the store. Then another nice lady asked if I needed help. I said, oh, look at that uniform...then I realized that my "personal shopper" didn't work for wal-mart. It was time to leave. Without a wife. The condition of merchandise at this Wal-Mart (like others) leaves much to be desired. We got a box of cat food cans and 1/4 of them are dented, despite being in the middle of the box and dents being away from where the outside surface would have caused them. Cleanliness was adequate and just like with the others, we spent the most time standing in line. I still don't like Wal-Mart but this was definitely not the worst one I've been in. read more

The $ on the Walmart app does not match what I have paid at check out on various products. This has happened more than once. I have written to customer support and never get I reply. I believe that this is misrepresentation since I could have picked up the same products at Stop&Shop and Target for less. Not right especially in today's economy. read more

All I ask for is the minimum - I expect employees to at least be enthusiastic about their job. Seriously, how hard is it to ask how one is, or just SMILE! Moreover, how difficult is it to operate a register efficiently? I will be stuck on a line on average for 20 minutes at this particular Walmart. The reason I continue to shop here is because prices are competitive for certain products compared to other department stores. I recommend coming here at a decent hour where you can use the self scan machines. I'm sure you can check yourself out much faster than these incompetent and unenthusiastic employees. read more

Obviously Walmart itself has great things , but my god this store has the worst customer service. Today I went in and purchased a bunch of things , one being a small plant. The plant had no tag on it and the woman said "sorry - doesn't have a tag" she asked a woman who didn't know and then just put it away. The plant was probably 2$ but the principal that she just said "sorry" when I could have grabbed another. I get they have other customers it was just so rude. read more

I had the good experience of meeting a great employee at Walmart in East Setauket yesterday. Her name is Jomel. What a delight she was. I have had work done on my lower back so it's hard for me to get around. I have to drive one of those electric shopping carts around the store. She saw I was having difficulty reaching for something on one of the shelves and she came right over to help me get that and asked what else I was looking for. She then went to get them for me. Very friendly and cheerful. An absolute delight. Later my mobile cart ran out of electricity and when she saw that she rushed to get a replacement cart for me and I was able to complete my shopping. I tried several times today to tell this to the store manager but couldn't get him on the phone. Walmart is lucky to have such a delightful employee working for them. read more

This location has a McDonalds and such, but it's lacking in some areas -- specifically food. It's also not the cleanest of Wal-Marts. This Walmart is the worst Walmart I've been to - unorganized, BARELY anything. In all, a total letdown after I've seen the glorious Walmarts they have upstate. They didn't even have creamer (the liquid kind like Coffeemate) the last time I went. **2L Cokes here are also more expensive than the Target further west on 347. What gives, Walmart? Every time I come here, I think it'll be better. Every time, I'm disappointed when I walk out. It's like having a boyfriend that will never change but you REALLY hope he will. Today I visited the walmart in east setauket Long Island, There were only 2 actual cashiers on duty . I waited on line for over 20 minutes until it was my turn, while this was going on the supervisor had visited the cashier to deal with a problem. Finally it was my turn and I was halfway finished unloading my items before the cashier advised me that the machine was not taking credit cards and it was cash only. She then tried to direct me to the self check out. I had over 30 items and observed that there were at least 40 people already on line with the same or greater loads. I inquired of the supervisor as I put my cart back if they were going to open any other registers and she was very curt when she replied "If we have them we will right now you should use the self check out" I find it offensive that I should be responded to in this manner, and since I am not employed at Walmart, I do not see any reason for me to act as a cashier and check out my own items. There are many other stores I can shop at and though I did like Walmart, I do not think this is the way business should be handled. Thank you read more

Manager is rude here, asked to price match Walmart.com and she looked at me like I was trying to steal. She asked me what I was doing with the items I was buying. i Spend a lot of money at Walmart and have never been treated like this or been questionEd about my intentions on my purchase. If I wasn't with my 6 year old daughter I would have said something. I recently had a tire blow out and happened to go into Walmart and met Carl a manager in the tire dept. Carl went out of his way and well beyond to make sure i received my custom ordered tire and was more than completely satisfied! This is my local store. I usually shop here once every other week. They usually have what I am looking for. I say usually. There are times when the dairy case looks like famine is coming. However, the snack and bread aisle is always well stocked as are most of the other food aisles. Prices are better than the area supermarkets on items that are not on sale. Since several of our area markets closed, this is the place for a quick stop when milk, bread or eggs are needed. I wish they would expand the grocery area in this store. When I need to print photos, I usually get them done here. They have one hour service and are pretty consistent in having them ready on time. It helps that you get a text when photos are done. This is also my go to store for tank and tee shirts that I wear under other items. They are so reasonably priced that you can get one in any or every color without much damage to your budget. This store has a great pet supply area and the shelves are always well stocked. The pharmacy has decent hours and I have never had a problem with a prescription. They will also text you when your prescription is ready. The health/beauty section is also well stocked and you can usually find what you are looking for. I have seen where other people have said that interacting with employees can be a problem. I haven't had that problem, but I do usually use the self checkout, except for the pharmacy. read more

If the employees at the register moved any slower, they would be moving backwards. Don't they understand that people just want to get in, buy their stuff and get out? What's worse is that management doesn't seem to realize this. Regarding selection, many things are hit and miss-- Want the Walmart brand flavored carbonated water? Unless your willing to settle for the usual left over Orange or Lime flavors, you may be out of luck. This store especially, fails to recognize that other flavors can be ordered for their customers (eg Blackberry, Watermelon, Blueberry). The one thing that this store has going for it over other stores, is that its fairly clean. Sylvester knows best! read more

I have been to this Walmart plenty of times before and this is not the first time I came across rude employees here. I bought a costume online and when it came it was missing a piece, So I was talking with customer service online at the Walmart website and I asked if I could get a replacement but they said they couldn't do it because next week was Halloween. And after talking back and forth I was told that I had until November 22nd to return the item, also keep in mind that they say returning stuff is easy but it's really not. So I went to this walmart location and after waiting in a line I bought the costume to the counter and showed my barcode but then I got told they were not taking returns after Halloween and I said that I was told that I can return this until November 22nd and so the lady calls someone on the loudspeaker and after waiting 10 minutes , with a tone she was asking if I got the item in the store and I simply said no and she was telling me that I don't have to be nasty but I'm not I just want to return this thing and go on with my day. Luckily I was able to return the costume and I got the receipt but it didn't have an approval number on it and the lady just wrote down the amount of money I was supposed to be refunded with. So I spoke to the manager and explained my situation with the returning and she was also confused that there was no approval number on the receipt and said I should wait and keep looking at my account for 5 days to see if I got refunded. Luckily not long after that I got refunded my money. I'm still angry about this trip because this is what Walmart does to people, they steal from low income people and they do not want to give you back your money, this honestly might be the last time I go to another Walmart because I can't deal with rude people. Instead of wasting your time at Walmart you should shop at Target instead, it's much easier to return stuff and shop at Target. read more
