I have bought groceries online and picked up my groceries, thrice now at Pearl City Walmart. Associates are friendly, courteous and fast all three times when I picked up groceries. Buy online, park at the designated parking stalls, pop open the trunk, and staff loads your groceries. Staff are thoughtful to ask if you want items like eggs and bread inside your car instead of the trunk. Superb service especially in the midst of a pandemic. Great concept coupled with a great staff. Cyndy's Bottom Line: Excellent customer service from the garden shop. I've been shopping at the garden shop at Walmart in attempt to spruce up my yard and garden. There is a good variety of plants which are really nice, healthy, and well kept. I bought two beautiful azaleas and went back the next day hoping to see more of them. They were out. I happened to ask Philip who works at the garden entrance/exit if he knew when was the next plant delivery. He suggested that I check with the manager Tina whom happened to be working. An excellent idea. I inquired with Tina and she was so nice and helpful. Tina took my number and said that she would check with the supplier and get back to me. As most everyone knows ... I frequent Walmart ... A LOT. We usually head to the Walmart on Keeaumoku because it's close. However, when they might be out of stock of something ( which is quite often actually ) we have to head out to the Pearl City Walmart. This hasn't been a such a bad thing as we've found that this location has more consistent stock and much less tourist traffic. This location is more like the mainland Walmarts (large with ample parking) and the Kapolei Walmart is even larger. Seems like the further west you go, the bigger the Walmarts get - probably due to the availability of land and space. This location is generally wicked crowded, especially on the weekends, but that's to be expected. However, the experience has gotten a lot better since they added the self-checkouts. read more

I had to return an item and dropped it off at this store. I couldn't find the return receipt and was told by Walmart + I would need to stop by the store and have someone verify they received it. I drove back to the store and Gloria found the item I returned then refused to give the Walmart+ associate her employee number of last name so they could provide my refund. When the Walmart+ representative asked to speak to the manager she said I would need to wait 20 minutes for them to get out of a meeting. No consideration of customers time, poor service, rude and waisted over an hour of my time. I canceled my Walmart+ membership and will stick with Amazon - would not recommend this store or Walmart+. I like it the most on the island simply because it is pretty large, has decent parking, is near a lot of other stuff (movies, bdubs, ross, tjmaxx, restaurants), feels pretty safe and is kept clean. The reason that they would most likely always get a 4 is because that they have what I need and more of it for a cheaper price. Rude "greeter" told me I had to leave my backpack in a locker to avoid theft. I was really offended, and argued that many people were allowed to take in bags with larger capacity than my fully zipped backpack. It is much easier to steal with a big floppy open shoulder bag than taking off a backpack that's completely sealed to steal something. I also saw other people with backpacks in the store, so why did they single me out? Discrimination and most of all totally illogical policy. Not only does it not give off an accommodating service satisfaction, it's wasted money and time on Wal-mart to have an employee shop for a customer's order. I get that there are reasons to not following certain "mainland" policies but this really didn't make sense at all. So what happened? This is by far my favorite Walmart. I feel like the selections are often better at this one rather than Keeamoku or Mililani, or it could be that I'm just more familiar with the product placement. Because I go here so much, I recognize a lot of the workers and for the most part, the ones I see are consistently polite and helpful. Though, I have crossed a handful over the years that seemed to hate their job. I can understand why though, I'm sure Wally's gets a lot of crazies. So kudos to the ones who have stuck it out. My favorite part about Walmart is that they are always holiday-ready and their prices are hard to beat (compared to Target or CVS). The only issues I'd really have with this store is that it can get really messy and unorganized (again, understandable considering the size and amount of traffic it gets), and I've found expired foods in their dry foods section a handful of times. On 28NOV2017 I purchased a baby gate from this Walmart. Later on, that day, I went home to install my new gate and it was too large. The next day I went back to the same Walmart to return it without the receipt, because unfortunately I threw away the receipt before installing. I was told no receipt, no return. EVEN THOUGH Walmart.com said returns acceptable with or WITHOUT receipt within 90 days. I informed the customer service agent and front-end supervisor about what the corporate policy states and she told me "we changed policy effective 06NOV2017" and that I could exchange for the same or a similar gate. Doesn't make sense considering I bought the last similar gate... however I informed the front end supervisor of what I seen online and she stayed persistent with the "new" policy. Later on that evening, my other half wasn't having it, so we went back in the evening when he was finished with work to speak to someone else. We spoke with Darrin(sp?). Darrin was super helpful and understood our frustration. I felt like he knew that the policy wasn't clearly outlined and empathized with where we were coming from. We appreciated the time and understanding he put into our situation and offered a solution that was best for both us and the company. Please give Darrin our praise. He went above and beyond policy and was able to do right for the customer. Now we know to keep all receipts from Walmart. I recommend this Walmart and all Walmart's who adopt a "no receipt, no return" policy to ensure their customers are informed, whether its a sign, on the receipt, or in person. You can't hold people accountable to something they are unaware of. read more

This store is SUPER shady! My wife went in and used the Coin Star machine and cashed in $75 (after the fee). She went and picked up a &25 gift card and headed to the register. Cashier rang both up and tried to give my wife $26 in change. She told her manager she put another $35 on a "debit card". My wife never even opened her purse during the transaction, so that was impossible. NO ALOHA!!! The receipt checker PAULA really should be replaced with someone who actually cares about customers. As I was walking in today an older man was going in with an electric shopping cart and it stopped working right in the doorway. Since she was the first person available I alerted her that the man needed help and that the cart wasn't working. She kept doing what she was doing and then just yelled over to him from like 6+ feet away, "Was it plugged in???" She didn't do anything to help him. She didn't try to call anyone else. The man stood up with his cane got into another one on the side with difficulty. I couldn't move the electric carts cause it was heavy and I didn't want to damage it, which is why I told an employee. Anyway, it just sucks to see an employee have literally NO CONCERN for an elderly customer and not try to do something to help and would rather just stand by and leave it to other customers to try to help him. read more

Called to put two mattresses on hold for in-store purchase and pick-up. I've been on the phone for half an hour AND STILL AM as I write this review. I was transferred upwards of 10 times. One department said it was the job of another department, and that department said that it was another... There's obviously miscommunication that needs to be mended. One associate wouldn't even let me finish my sentence before transferring me to another department. Not a single person asked me which mattress I was looking for or any other specifications. Long drive after I work bc I need a specific item and gps get me there 11 min before close. At about 7:45 Thursady night. I went into Walmart Pearl City and needed to get copies of keys done and see no one there at the counter so I asked an Associate who i see is walking out from the back and asked if there was anyone for that area (sporting goods) there and all she did was walked away without saying anything like... hold on let me call someone or hold on... NOTHING!!! So I went to go see where she went and here she comes walking out of the aisle with another associate laughing which by that time still nothing was said. The other associate she was walking with was the one who came to the counter and helped me. At that point I was so upset with this VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE that I asked for a manager (which I forgot to get her name) and as I'm telling her what happened... this Associate whose name is Mel and is in the foods dept. came around and saying "oh yeah that was me"... and I'm like telling her what she did and that she had poor customer service and she was coming at me like I was the one in wrong... so the assistant manager had to tell her to go in the back which she still kept on talking as if she wanted to fight me. My husband had to stop me from getting louder and to stop me before it escalated more. I got the Store Managers info and called him in the morning and said he was going to look into it and take care of it. My thing is how am I going to know if they did take care of the situation or just telling me that they will take care of it just to shut me up. I have been coming to this Walmart for years. I actually like coming to this Walmart more than the one on Keeaumoku Street in Waikiki. This Walmart is much less crowded, easier to find parking and the aisles seemed to be a little bit wider. Also the shelves are better stocked than the Waikiki one. They used to close early at 10 or 11 pm but now they are opened 24/7, which is nice. Can't beat shopping in the middle of the night, definitely less people at that time. This Walmart isn't too big inside. They have groceries but no fresh meat products. There is a McDonald just inside their front entrance, which can get quite busy during rush hour. Sams is just a short 2 minutes drive away and their gas station is right on the other side of the parking lot. Very convenient!! read more

This is one of my favorite Walmart's on the Island. That's saying a lot. They have a regular parking lot it is NOT a parking garage, which seems common here. They don't make me turn in my backpack like I'm a criminal. It seems pretty well organized. The employees seem nice & smiley. There are usually multiple check out lanes open. I recommend going in the AM to avoid big crowds. The grocery section seems pretty small so don't go if you're looking for fresh meats or vegetables. Location is great!
