This Walmart is supposed to be convenient for me since it is quite close from home but it was the opposite. Just needed to buy a $4 Tylenol and couple other things but took us 30 mins to check out since the item is locked and can only pay in a particular register where they are holding the items. I hate this Wal-Mart. I am actually not a fan of Wal-Mart all together, I prefer Target but sometimes a wally world trip is necessary or convenient. This location is not that big, the isles are narrow, and the clientele is ghetto (for lack of a better word) and or homeless. Also, I don't think this is a super Wal-Mart so they don't have everything that a super Wal-Mart would have. There are always people begging for money outside of both entrances to the store, avoid. The store is always messy, and there are often kids running around everywhere with no parental supervision. I would recommend going here before 9 AM if possible or save yourself the headache all together and go a few exits to the West Sacramento super Wal-Mart. The only positive thing is the self checkout line here is usually empty so if you run in for a few things you can get out fairly quick. read more

Um. I ran in for two spools of thread because I knew that this location had a fabric/crafts section. Otherwise, the brutal truth: store is ghetto. Let's just say this establishment plays host to a diverse population and SacPD lights are usually going off in the massive parking lot. If I'm looking for anything inexpensive, the West Sacramento store is the safer bet since it is located right off the freeway when I'm down from the city AND they have an oil change/tire service. They had a good selection of thread (fabrics for the so inclined) and I was able to pick up the two colours I was looking for (they did not carry them at Michael's, located in the same strip mall) at a $1.96 each. As we strolled towards the cashiers, I remembered that I needed several blank cds, so it was just my luck that the electronics department was on the way. Found my 10-pk for $5 and paid for my entire purchase right there in the electronics department, rung up by a cheery associate. I'm knocking the review up one star for the good customer service as well as the varied greetings we received on our way to the crafts section located in the very back of the store. read more

This is a review for the pharmacy only. They are completely incompetent. I waited an hour for my prescription and it didn't get filled. when I asked about it they said they were waiting for a fax from Kaiser. My prescription was never through Kaiser. Turns out after I nagged and nagged they found my doctor's message on their voicemail 4 prescribers. and now been waiting an hour and 20 minutes and I was told it would be another 20 to 30 minute wait for my prescription I was now an hour late for my trip that I was leaving for. Instead I will pay them more expensive Kaiser price and get things right away. These people don't know how to do their jobs. read more

I've never reviewed a store on any of these type of websites. I feel compelled to because as far as Walmart goes this is near the bottom. There is a long list of offenses by this store. It started with the turf war between two children in front of the store who were fighting over who gets to sell chocolate bars there. They were shoving each other and yelling the n word at the top of their lungs right in front of the entrance. The staff isn't much better. At the customer service counter two female employees were so involved in their conversation that I had to say excuse me twice. I tried to return a tent purchased at the woodland Walmart and they said it wasn't possible. We had the receipt and they never did give me a reason why. I asked for the manager and waited for 15 mins before leaving in frustration. Then there was the lady with the squawking bird on her head walking through the store. That one was actually kind of amusing. My last stop was for some tequila for a party. The liquor is locked up like Fort Knox with seemingly only 1 person in the entire store with the key. I have visited this Walmart many many times because I work in the area and I have never once had a good experience. The associates are anyway rude and disrespectful. There never seem to be happy and frequently use profanity . What's even more disturbing and upsetting is associates intentionally have their name tags flipped around so you are unable to read them. Inquiring about their name you have to physically ask them name and then they give you a fake name . I will never shop in this Walmart again this place is absolutely the worst location. read more

A Wal-Mart is a Wal-mart. I have yet to visit an exceptional one. They are all mildly clean, employees somewhat helpful, and somewhat organized. I stopped by here to get my scuba pictures developed, I can't tell you the last time I had to get a disposable camera done, has to have been at least ten years haha. I headed straight to the photo area to drop it off, hoping to be able to pick them up after work. Unfortunately, they no longer do same day prints and had to send it off. Roughly two weeks until it's back, and I *might* get a phone call that they're in. The customer service rep recommended that I call in two weeks to check first though. I went to cash a check at the money services section today and an extremely overweight Hispanic lady name Marisela was treating me like I was suspicious. When I handed her my check (that I already signed because I was prepared), she gave me a weird look and kept announcing that my check was already signed. Her manager told her to proceed and after 20 long minutes of her staring at her computer screen, she told me that she couldn't give me money for my check. She even offered to keep the check without giving me my money. I then asked her manager what we could do to fix this and she just kept telling me to call a number, with no explanation. This was terrible for me because I needed this money for holiday shopping this weekend. I was really upset, so after walking out of the store, I came back to talk to a manager to figure out what was going on and I was ignored by her for about 15 minutes before I decided to leave. This is NOT okay. I've worked in customer service management for years and would never be okay this type of behaviour. The staff that I dealt with were very lazy and discriminatory. I'M NEVER COMING TO THIS LOCATION AGAIN. Update: I came to the Walmart in West Sacramento and the kind woman working there actually took the time to explain what happened with my check. Came to this Walmart to use the pharmacy. I called ahead and spoke with a tech about having an RX for my dog (previously filled at the Reno Walmart) transferred and filled here. The young man was extremely helpful and coordinated the prescription to be transferred. I was told it would be ready the next day. I came in the next day and there was a short line that moved quickly. The prescription was ready and the whole process was quick and painless! The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because of the shopping complex this Walmart sits in. The traffic is a nightmare in the complex and it deters me from wanting to shop at this particular Walmart regularly. But the pharmacy was top notch! read more

Customer service is horrible. I can never find anyone in paint or sporting goods. This Walmart is not open 24 hours like the one in West Sacramento and its not that big. Usually I will drive further to west Sac. Recently I waited in a long line in garden and tell the cashier I want to use my e rewards gift card. He tries to scan my phone with my phone rotating the image and tries to enter in the number while the line was backing up. I told him that the cashiers always have trouble processing the savings catcher cards and he told me to print it out next time to make it easier for them and kept trying to put in the number. Yes that's what I want to hear what I can do for Walmart to make things easier. He said he needed a manager approval and looked at me like he wanted me to give up trying to use it. I told him to call the manager then because last time I just didn't use it because the lady couldn't figure it out. He was blaming me for holding up the line and asked if he could help other people. What can I say about this Walmart? As much as I'd love to give it one star because it is Walmart (and a pretty dinky one at that) I still find myself going there every so often, so I'll bump it up to two stars overall. My last experience was a one-star effort as I went to pick up some digital photos I uploaded to their photo center earlier that morning. There was nobody at the counter and I had my son with me. I asked for help and an employee found my pictures but couldn't ring me up because it had no price tag and the photo counter worker was on break. He told me to wait 10-15 minutes, but since it was close to my son's nap, I didn't want to have any of that, so I asked if I could talk to a manager. That's all it took to suddenly get the guy to figure out how to ring up my photos after all. I have a feeling his manager wouldn't have liked being called in to do something just because the first employee was too lazy to try. Recently, I broke the glasses I bought from this center a year ago. No reflection on the product. I am hard on two things....phones and glasses. Hence why I buy insurance on both if available! When I contacted their office, not only were they able to look me up quickly but were very polite and professional even though I could tell from the ringing of phones and background voices, they were very busy. Luckily for me, I had bought a two year insurance plan so I was golden as to getting the repair or replacement done. I went in on my next day off which happened to be two days later and was advised they could go ahead and swap out the frames while I waited if I had time. I was beyond thrilled. All in all, it took them maybe 15-20 minutes to replace the frames I had broken with a new one and even do a nice cleaning on my lenses since mine were smudged from handling them that morning. Polite, professional, friendly, and quick! Oh my! I am so going to miss them when we move next year. But until then, they will continue to be my go to place for anything to do with my eyes! read more

Everything at Walmart is on sale for school supplies! stock up everyone. I got college rule note books for $0.17 each. Also, I found Baby Lips chap stick there the limited edition one's for $2.94 each! compared to other drug stores its going for about $3.99-$4.99. Its always a deal at walmart! I always leave out of Walmart satisfied with my purchase, and 99% of the time they always have what i want in stock at a cheaper price compared to other markets. I constantly see a long line for returns and am now a victim of waiting in line with their 2 staff working the line yet they have plenty of cashiers and staff counting their money in the back. Going to this store seems only acceptable if it's a necessity. Sure it's Walmart and things are probably going to be cheaper then going here and there and everywhere for multiple items, but unless I need to pick up multiple items that I expect them to carry, it's just not worth it. Parking is not only terrible, but the poor layout of the plaza it's in doesn't help. The store is always disorganized and unwelcoming, and many of the employees project the same impression. This store is small compared to many other Walmarts, and stock is kept in small supply. Finding the things you need usually arent an option because of this. Settling for a different brand is often a choice here if it's not something important. The time I came right before I closed, a lady seriously had like 30+ items in her cart in the ten items or less line. She wasn't buying any tobacco... but I guess she didn't know how to count. The cashier totally laid into her and she took whatever she could grab and left her cart of everything else on the planet to the side. I think she even left her melting Dryer ice cream bars. haha. Anyway back to the review... they have a good selection of dog products compared to the other five Walmarts I visited on my trip. I loved their harnesses, leash, and collar sets! They're adorable.. I mean you have to buy them ala carte but it was so cute I had to buy all the matching items. Their baby selection however was wiped out! I couldn't find anything I needed. So hit and miss for sure. Hours are 6AM-11PM daily. My husband is right... I am spoiled by Hawaii's 24 hour Walmarts... Oh and totally ghetto because you should lock your car if you're just going to chill in your car.
