Me and my crew just finished a hard day out on location and there was quite a bit of physical work, so everybody was wiped out and didn't wanna travel to go out to dinner. They wanted me to go out and get some food to bring back to the hotel. So, being the good boss I am, that's what I did. What I thought of was fried chicken! But you know, I was never a real fan of KFC or other chicken chains, but you know who makes good fried chicken is grocery stores and yes, Walmart deli. I know there's a Walmart super center nearby, so that's where I go and I know I can get any drinks and potato salad and stuff like that. I GPS my way over here and go in. It looks kinda like most Walmarts. I head over to the deli and see the fried chicken. They have 8 piece orders with both dark and white meat for around $8.00 bucks an order. I get 4 orders just to be safe, some of my crew are bigger guys and I think can eat a lot. I get back to the hotel and they're all waiting for me in the lobby. There's a breakfast dining are we can use, and there some plates and napkins and stuff. Coffee too. They're all happy to see and smell the fried chicken. I think we smelled up the whole lobby with that chicken! I'll say along with the crew, that was some pretty good fried chicken! I gotta keep that in mind. Walmart makeas it nearly impossible to return items: $23.00 for "Contractor bags" when I ordered CONPACTOR BAGS, which cost a good deal less. Walmart sent 44 eggs when I ordered 18. The Walmart at 2705 Parleys Way in East Salt Lake City near Foothill Drive is excellent in nearly every way. I gave it Five Stars in a previous Yelp review. Its employees are nice, and that isn't true of every store. Its Pharmacy is especially good compared to other SLC pharmacies, and excellent for vaccine availability!! Its food is good, but not great, compared to several other local groceries. However, Dan's Foothill Village, Whole Foods and Harmon's are much more expensive and usually better than this Walmart. Those groceries do not even compete in the other departments this Walmart has: Clothing, Tools, Car Supplies, Electronics, Sporting Goods, Garden Supplies & Equipment, etc. Walmart is nearly unique, rivaled overall by Costco and Target. I have ordered from Walmart.com many times and they did a uniformly excellent job for me!! They are even appreciative! read more

Since the only way I can complain is to call the general customer service number I'm going to start my rant here and a phone call be last cuz I KNOW the 1-800 isn't store specific to my Walmart on 900 east. I generally don't have a problem. This store is smaller therefore they don't carry some of the things a bigger Walmart does. Clothing for example. Very limited in finding something I want or that will fit me in that color. My current issue is the MILK DEPARTMENT. Maybe 1 out of 12 days is it fully stocked. Every time I go in they maybe have two or three "lanes" with only two gallons. The dumb thing is I can see all the milk in their crates ready to put in the doors. Is there somebody back there that can do that? Is there any other Walmart workers I can flag down and ask? Nope. I ALL WANT IS A 1/2 GALLON OF HALF & HALF and at this point I will pay the high price for whatever they have in stock that day BUT IT ISN'T STOCKED!! Do not order from Walmart.com. the order came 4 days late and they did not care. When I returned the item as it was time sensitive, they put the refund on an online refund credit so it can only be used online or on the app. No one can transfer to the card used to purchase the item. When returning online it is not clear to the consumer what you are selecting and they have no way ro change it. Just to let everyone know. That "Ray Burnett" man did not get racially profiled at our Walmart. Our lead security guy is black, like seriously? People are so quick to pull the race card. I saw the altercation between rays friend when asked to see his receipt. He got extremely defensive and started yelling very loudly, which is, Im sorry, but suspicious to say the least. I always dread coming to this Walmart. The parking lot is sketchy, the people hanging out around the building are sketchy (Trying not to judge, but when they stare at you and follow you to the door as you walk in, I just can't help it), and it just feels a little hectic once you get inside. People seriously just hang out here, and I get a little spooked, so I try to get in and out in record time. The only time I come here is when I'm in a pickle, and even then I have an inner debate on whether or not I can find what I need at the nearest Maverick. Alas, the fact that Walmart is open 24/7 and has everything is the only thing that pulls me in. Literally, where else can I purchase a blender at 10pm? Or a charger adapter for Europe at 2 am because my flight leaves in 2 hours and I forgot to get one before? Horrible customer service from top to bottom. I stopped by today at the store, trying to get an item they have advertised on the Walmart website. They did not want to sell the item because of a technicality, which fine. However, when I asked the sales person, the manager , the "coach" and at customer service, for help to check the item inventory at another store and clarify the purchase process, everyone of them acted like I was wasting their time and they behaved rudely. Honestly I had completely forgotten this walmart existed. I kept driving to the one on redwood road and one day I happened to pass pass this one as I was coming back from the gym. It doesn't look as big as it is from the outside as the building is really long. They have everything you'd except a walmart to have. I'll probably shop at this one more often. read more

Self check-out touch screens are unresponsive, so you need to call for help several times during check out. They are understaffed, with only one or two cashiers available, so you're forced to use the self-check out, but the touch screens are completely unresponsive. What a waste of time. read more

Good store. Well stocked grocery dept I always find all the items I need there. Garden area is well managed dept manager Jolene was very helpful to me when I was confused about some plants I was looking for. I mostly just use the grocery area here but I've always had a pleasant experience. My only complaint is that it's a very small store. Not the employees fault. read more

Lately Walmart has been pushing their order online, pick up in store service. I was going camping last weekend, so I placed a big order online for in-store pickup. As soon as I walked into the store, I checked in on the app. Walmart touts that if you check in with the app when you get to the store, your items will be ready for you by the time you get to the pickup area. Not true. I waited in the pickup area for 5+ minutes. No one was at the counter, so I pushed the button for assistance. The area was bustling with employees going into the back area. About 4 employees walked past me before one of them asked if I had been helped. I said no, and she said she would get someone for me. She never did. A few more employees walked past and finally one of them stopped to help. As I was waiting, a man came out of the bathroom and informed an employee that he had thrown up in the bathroom. The employee said "ok" but continued going about his business and didn't seem too worried about it. I was in the pickup area next to the bathrooms for a good 15 minutes getting everything sorted out, and during that time the employee did not report the issue and no one went into the bathroom to clean it up. Yuck. I went back to the store a few days later to return some camping gear and it was a headache...the lady was really struggling with how to return stuff and everyone behind me in line was getting huffy. It's a Walmart. It is large and usually stocked with what I need at good prices. Do I wish they had baskets? Of course, but they don't...so I push a cart around to get what I need if it's more than 2 arm fulls. It's not normally packed and sometimes the lines are a few carts deep, but I can't really complain. I haven't been to Walmart in a long time. I went there today and noticed that the make-up department was blocked off and that you can only purchase make-up at that one register. That was strange, But I figured it was due to theft. After spending over hundred dollars at the store and while I was checking out a lady went to leave the store. The person at the door stopped her and said she needed to look inside her purse. It is a new store policy. I find it very disturbing that a store does not trust it's customers. I was very disgusted with this new policy. I will not be going back to Walmart again. I have had to pick up items at this location that I've ordered online, so this one may stock more items than others..? Not totally sure but I've also had to wait at least half an hour in line on a Saturday. Ugh I hate this Walmart. It reminds me of a halfway house/fat camp. It's a cesspool of sadness and underachievement. The lines are long, the people not wearing enough clothing and the management doesn't seem to cope well with everyday Walmart life. However they have some very good employees. As Wal-Marts go, this one is decent. Not as hectic or scary as 1300 S Wal-Mart, which is not to say that it is not ever hectic or scary. I hate the pharmacy. When I moved to Holladay, I had my meds transferred there and they were unable to find half of them in their system for months, even after I had new prescriptions written. I've also received calls from their 800 number for days after I've already picked up prescriptions which has never happened before. In all, ridiculous, but the hassle hasn't killed me yet. Go at night. While your chances of being assaulted in the parking lot increase exponentially, it's worth not having to fight the crowds. read more

DON'T GO IN UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE TREATED LIKE A THUG, SHOP LIFTER, OR $40 DOLLARS TO GO MISSING. GO TO ANOTHER WALMART! This is by far the worst Walmart in Utah, or the country. I'm not one for dramatics but this post is dramatic. There are so many issues about this Walmart but I will narrow it down to five issues. 1. The employees are rude and slow. An explanation of this is that the customer service line there is not an actual area and it takes around 30 to 45 minutes to return one item. 2. The management is horrible. To elaborate further if you ever want something from the beauty isle, you can never leave that isle unless you check out immediately upon leaving the isle. Regardless of how big your cart is, or if you are done shopping!! If you want to check out like a normal person or if you are not done checking out they will not allow you to leave. Somewhere underneath all of this is their way to stop stealing, but it is making things way worse. 3. They have no restroom so sorry you'll have to pee in your car. Or maybe they do but when I asked a employee they said there was none 4. They stole my $40! Elaboration: is when I was looking for a bathroom I had to go so bad that I left The fast lane even quicker. I was not able to get my cash back. . granted I walked away and some loving person got $40. But I need it. It was my nephews birthday money. When I then one minute later after finding no money in my hand, went to get the money, the Walmart person (who looked as though they were high on meth) said she would get a CGM. A man then around three minutes later came, asked me what my problem was, laughed, and said we can check the security cameras but that will take around two weeks! Horrible service for grocery delivery. I have placed 4 online orders since Christmas. One was filled correctly. One was changed from delivery to pickup. I do not drive, I am not able to pick up. One delivery gave me an incorrect product and charged me for a product I did not receive. I called 4 times about that order, each time I was assured they would correct the problem, no one ever filled through. My most recent order was short 2 items. I called customer service, they refunded the amount I was charged for the items. Then I spoke with an associate at the 900 E store, hoping I could do something to avoid problems in the future. She informed me that there was nothing she could do, my order had been filled by a driver, not a Walmart associate. She also told me they have hundreds of customers, she can't pay attention to every order. Now I am left wondering if the non Walmart associate had access to my debit card info. This store has made a pathetic mess of Walmart plus and I really don't think Walmart corporate can do anything about it. read more

The worst Walmart I have ever been to. I went here when I needed a few things in a pinch, fabric, wrapping paper, some candy and a couple food items. I waited at the fabric with another lady for literally 30 min. We rang the bell, we found someone else to page the people who are supposed to cut the fabric... They never came. We both ended up leaving our fabric on the table since no one was there to cut it. This particular location also has very little variety of anything. And they squish everything into such small spaces that it's hard to get two people into an isle. read more

During my experience, the floor associates avoided eye contact with me at all costs. They seemed afraid that I might ask a question, I may have had questions but I was not going to inconvenience them. I didn't find everything I needed, but I did my shopping and then headed to the checkout. Now, my purchase was after midnight so I assumed I would have to wait in line. I was more than right, only one register running and a line of customers all the way into apparel. The customer service manager was resetting registers, with the money cart, alone. She was doing her best to ignore the line of customers. The cashier slowly checked customers out but never smiled the whole time. The line continued to extend into apparel. I finally approach to make my purchase and notice it's an assistant manager running the register. She does not greet me, she throws my things into bags. She sets my eggs in a bag vertically. I am never thanked, simply handed my receipt. Once I get to my car with my poorly bagged items, I realize my raspberries are spilled in a bag. I used to work for a Walmart in a different state about 3 years ago, I can tell you that this kind of behavior from associates and managers and this way of running a business would not have been tolerated. read more

Management at this store is horrible. I have heard them berate and belittle elderly employees. These managers might want to remember that outside those doors they're nothing and someone someday may just give them a taste of their own medicine. Definitely pros and cons to this Walmart, but overall it's better than most I've been to. Pros- The associates and managers here are super chill. It seems like I'm here more days than I'm not so I've dealt with just about everyone in the store by now. Whenever I've had a problem they've taken care of me completely and quickly. The people at the customer service desk are really competent as well, unlike a lot of other locations I've been to. Cons- they're like the smallest Walmart in the salt lake valley, so they don't have as much of a selection as some places. It's not usually a problem unless you're returning something without a receipt. If you don't have a receipt and they don't carry the item, you can't return it. Taylorsville or downtown is better for no receipt returns. I see them arresting people for taking stuff off the shelf and returning it a lot, too, so I guess their asset protection team is pretty on their stuff. A little shortstaffed up front sometimes. Worst time to come is 10 o'clock at night, cause a bunch of people get off and theirs only one or two cashiers. Lines can stretch back into the clothes racks pretty easily. Self check is the only thing open overnight so that is what it is I guess. All in all it's a pretty good store. Some people have their own issues with Walmart so they probably won't be happy anywhere. But for anybody else who likes convenience, cheap prices and a huge selection I'd definitely recommend this location. read more
