We have an appointment with the automotive center to purchase a few new tires today, and have spent well over half an hour trying to get ahold of literally ANYONE who works at this location just to confirm the appointment. Our first call to the automotive center--- someone evidently pulled out the phone line and disconnected the call. Second and third calls--- someone picked up the phone and hung up immediately. Finally, I decided to try the standard customer service line, where the call was timed-out because nobody decided to pick up that line either. WALMART HAMMER LANE STOCKTON CA Went to Walmart for an oil change on 11/27/2021,. They did not have my filter for car and directed me to O'Reilly's across the street. I bought 2 filters and returned to the automotive dept. Hours later my car was returned to me (oil fingerprints on box left on new car seat covers, extra filter left on seat and discarded trash on automobile floor) and I went home(3-4 minutes away). I started car on the next day and heard rattling that was not there before oil change (6AM). I called Walmart on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (several times with no answers before automatically disconnected). I then call customer service due to the noncommunication via phone and left a complaint (211201-006222). There was suppose to be a follow-up call to me that never came, as of this date 12/06/2021. I told the customer rep. that when i get back into town, I would return my car to Walmart. On 12/06/2021, I dropped items off at my mother's and traveled home. I was informed that oil had been leaking from my car in my parking spot; a few minutes later my brother called and stated the same had happened in his driveway by my car. I call customer service once again, this time parking at the Walmart and getting out, while still on speaker with customer service. In the automotive Dept. I was told that there was no manager (Steve R. was not in on this day) or store manager (Ryan on vacation). The young lady sought out Zack whom identified himself as a coach and that all managers helped out while the store manager was not available (customer service rep. is still on speaker waiting and receiving shared information from Walmart employees) Zack suggested to filing of a claim which he initiated. Zack and another young man wearing a grey beanie cap with lettering stood behind the counter and put in my information and then ask for me to type a description of the issue (customer service is still on the speaker phone /requesting claim number). I closed conversation with rep. after receiving notification of escalation to district manager and incident number #211206-009286. After finishing the description, Zack and other employer put in the remaining information needed on their part. ( I asked what they were doing). Zack wanted the other employee to look at my car, which turned out to be taking pictures). I go with the other employee (still not identified but said "I'm trying to help you. I was on lunch when they called me). At this time we're about 40 minutes into this escapade. I then find all of the technicians huddled in the service area outside with Zack and the iPad. I have an employee open the door so I can ask "What is going on?" Zack states that he's finishing up the claim and it takes some time(another person tells me that Zack is letting the other employees read my description that I had written earlier). I leave into the store and go to find some type of professionalism within Walmart. I end up at the customer service desk and speak with two young ladies behind the counter. I ask if there was a store manager available for me to speak with; only Zack. I decline due to already waiting on this same individual. I walk back through the store toward the automotive repair section and was stopped by the guy with the grey beanie. He gives me the claim number which I write down next to the other one. back at the automotive section, the same guy ask to have a look at my car. he directs me to drive my car around so he can pull it in and have a look. This is fine with me (Were over an hour by now , which I previously let them know my time is money-this is when the young man had made the statement about him cutting his lunch short earlier). I pull my car around and he pulls it into the bay. Another employee(Asian ) converses with him and they proceed opening my hood and looking into my car. I then bring it to their attention in reference of the trash and oily debris left on my new car seat and floor). Proceeding ot go underneath my car (Remember; just to have a look). I move so that I can see what their doing. I then see them with flashlights and putting their hands up into the underside of my car, using tools and bringing a oil pan underneath. I yell to them that they are suppose to be just looking at my car, not doing any kind of work on it. They continue as if I hadn't said anything. I'VE HAD ENOUGH NOW! I repeated 'What are you doing to my car. You have not been authorized by me to remove or replace anything on my car. I didn't give you consent to do anything to my car. You are said you wanted to look at my car. this is not looking at my car." I turn and speak to another customer who's truck had been pulled into the bay beside my car about the situation. He then states "I better watch my car". I then go back to asking " What the F%@! are you doing to my car" the young man with the grey beanie says " Do you want me to fix your car or what? An updated review; customer service still sucks here or maybe its just the automotive area. I went in one morning, grabbed an item and went to the cash register in automotive. The cashier lady was helping some lady with their purchase. When I handed her the item, she put it down and just stared at it for maybe 10 seconds. I thought she was trying to be funny, but nope. I might be paraphrasing here, but she looks at me and asks "where is your car? You can't make any purchases here that don't involve a car. I'm not a cashier, but I'll do this once." She sounded a bit mad. I've been checking out at automotive for more than a decade so this is the first time I've heard of this. I ask her when does the cashier show up and she just tells "she gets here when she gets here." I've checked out at this department much earlier in the day before, so maybe she was really the cashier and was just trying to give me a hard time. As I was leaving, she didn't say the same thing to the guy behind me who was holding Duraflame firelogs. Obviously not meant for cars. Weird, right... or is it? Wal-Mart on Hammer Ln in Stockton, California. I 100% agree with yelper Brandon B's review on people giving low ratings but still shop here. I won't give this place a low rating because I actually come here when I need to do some major shopping. Basically Wal-Mart has everything I need from beer, food, clothes for the kids and Dickies. I do love checking out the electronic section with my son looking at all the games and movies. The toys section for my youngest is cool, we can spend hours just looking and her getting all the toys she wants. School supplies and shopping for clothes we come here and while we're at it we grab groceries here too. It's cool when you can knock out two birds with one stone. The parking lot is hard to navigate with people walking everywhere without any thought of the cars or their surroundings. The building itself is really in need of some TLC...it seems like they do not really keep up. They decided to remodel almost every Wal-Mart except for the Stockton store apparently. The lines are always a mile long. The electronics department just "closes" during the early morning hours. Shelves are stocked way to high. Their selection is really hit or miss. Need I go on? If I really have to go to Wal-Mart in the area I would probably go to either the Lodi or Manteca store. :0) read more

My second venture into a Super Wal-Mart wasn't to bad. I did go in in the morning so it probably wasn't that busy then. After I got home from my trip I got really sick with a cold and yet, I still had to go to work. I stopped by here twice to get more meds to help tame my cold. Again, don't use the self check out. On the second day I tried it and it wants you to put everything you ring up in the "bag" area. If you don't you cant ring up anything else until an employee comes over and clears it. Pain in the ass! I also got lunch one day here. A small container of Mac N Cheese and a Beef and Cheese Chimichanga. It was a carbo overload lunch day. I was sick though and had to feed my cold. If I lived closer I would probably shop here more often. read more

I accidentally bought the wrong size light bulbs, came in to get my $3 back and return the incorrect bulbs. Waited in long line, and I was the 2nd in line! For over 20 mins! They only had one worker, all the people behind me made complaints and they didn't seem to care! Horrible customer service in store! Ok update I had bought these bulbs with their online grocery pick up and because it was such a new service they didn't know how to return items. So they would not take the bulbs back and sent me home with a phone number to call, weird. So I called and they were super nice and polite and helpful, of course that's after they transferred me a few times. They did credit my account for the lightbulbs but didn't take them back and said just just keep them, weird. Then offered me a $10 credit for having to go to the store and wait forever and not be able to return them, so at least they were nice. My original score was one star, changed to three because they were so polite on the phone and I did get my money back. But they need to fix their return service, I mean what the heck. read more

I asked her where certain item was... she dryly waved me in the direction of where I could find my item and quickly went back to her phone. I don't understand how you cant use self check out if you have about 21 - 25 items, when there's no cashiers. Not only that some of the cashiers are so slow and likes to take their time. I understand that they might be new or need training, but come on. Under certain circumstances you can at least make an effort and move a little faster with only 2 or 3 register open or have more lanes open. Every other Walmart uses self checkout with no limits and have good staff looking out and also provide help when needed. This location just sucks. Groceries are super cheap here (especially the dairy, frozen, and baking aisles), and I can get just about everything else I'm looking for, too. And for even cheaper than regular Wal-Mart stores! But put on your "ethnic diversity is good" attitude and have at it. Yes, avoid the 1st and 15th of the month, and don't come here alone if the sun's not shining bright. That said, early-mid day is an ideal time, but don't expect this place to ever be empty, because I swear no one works day jobs in Stockton! As you can imagine, after dark and the wee hours are most treacherous here. Long lines are inevitable, but bring a friend along and take the time to people-watch. This place sells decent tires and batteries for a good price, but the service sucks. I bought 4 brand new good year tires a few months ago. Bought the road hazard and lifetime balance and rotation package. So I went in for a tire rotation and they said they only work on tires by appointment. Okay... so I scheduled an appointment for coming Saturday at 9:00 am. When I scheduled my appointment the lady told me I needed to be in time because once 9:00 hits they worker will drop what they are doing and work on your vehicle. I thought to myself, damn...good for me sucks for the vehicle they were working on. Anywho.. I showed up to my appointment at 8:40 am. Lady took my keys and said they will get on it. 9 o'clock comes and go and I see them working and finishing up on vehicles (oil change) and not even pulling my vehicle into a bay. 9:20 comes around and I told myself if they don't get to it I have to go. I went to talk to the lady at the counter at 9:25 and she told me you can schedule an appointment online. We looked in her book and my name and number was in there for a 9:00 appt. She said someone double booked and there were 2 9:00 appt. The other 9:00 clock appt did not even show up but they neglected my appoint. I took my keys and left. No apologies. I tried calling and talking to someone but you will not be able to get a hold of anyone on the phone here. Now thinking back, I should have gone to Costco or American Tire Co. they would have probably cost $200 more but I would actually get my tires rotated and better service. read more

He works at the store as a greeter, and now a days as the guy that has to scan everybody's receipt. He is a really good kid that treats everyone with kindness and respect.
