Stopped in today to buy a new tire for my car. I was inside the store and asked for the tire at 5:15pm. They apparently close at 6 on Sunday. I was told by the clerk that he could sell me a tire but couldn't put it on the rim or anything, we could just take the tire. I needed only 1 tire because it was run on flat for too long. The other 3 that I bought from Walmart are still good for now. What kind of tire shop refuses new tire sales. I guess I will take my business elsewhere from now on! read more

I love this Wal-Mart and the fact that my family and I can spend a couple of hours walking around, playing in the toy isle, cruising the electronics, garden, grocery, home, etc and we always get friendly service. Someone is always asking if we need help finding anything, or if we are doing ok. We are never ignored when there is an employee around. They are helpful, curtious and knowledgeable! We do a majority of our shopping there and get a kick out of the greeters at the door!! read more

Walmart and the city of surprise should be ashamed that this store is still open for business. The smell is beyond gross and the employees are forced to work in these conditions. When asked they have been told to say "we have not been told anything" is so typical of Walmart. Selling food that has sat around being penetrated by that smell must be illegal. I have been using the Auto Center at this location for 3 years for simple car maintenance like oil changes and tire rotations. I had a trip across the hot desert to San Diego, alone, a woman over 65 years old. Got to San Diego and the noise was louder...found a small car repair place in San Diego and they checked it and found the flap for the oil change had multiple broken plastic clips allowing the flap to flap and eventual end up on the ground. They replaced the less than 20 cent clips for free and stated they obliviously broke them when doing the oil change and did not bother to replace them! This is a quality of service issue that caused me a tremendous amount of stress that could have been eliminated with 5 minutes of replacement that should have been done! Never again Walmart-horrible service!! read more

The door greeter told my husband that our 12 yr old Golden Retriever could not sit in the foyer next to the soda machines.I had sat there for 20 min. before my husband took over so I could shop. It was a very hot day, the ground was hot to touch. We were traveling, passing through Surprise. Rusty could not be left in the truck ( it's against the law where we live ). We have done this at dozens of Walmarts in many U.S. states. Never has it become an issue. I set out to speak w/a mgr. As I was explaining myself a woman strolls up to the next cashier. We were standing at a closed register speaking privately. The woman says " take it somewhere else " long story short I argued w/this person, the manager was not about to ease my frustration, she sided with her greeter giving me a line of bull, allowed the woman to antagonize me and asked me to leave. I thought Surprise AZ was the sweetest place but if that is the locals way of showing respect to tourist, well I just do not have a good thing to say Go to the other Walmarts in town. read more

This is the closet retail store to my house, so I shop there occassionally. The last time I shopped there, I couldn't believe how rude an associate was. I was walking down the main aisle by food(on the right side), and a male associate was coming toward me on the same side. I kept walking, he looked at me and kept walking. Walmart is Hell. Now everyone knows Walmart is what it is-bargain basement, get it all in one stop, trailer parks are empty tonight type of experience. But I will guarantee regardless of when you are shopping you will spend more time in line waiting than you did gathering items. To be fair most times it is customers with rejected cards or arguing over coupons, but I've been in near 5pm on a Friday with two lanes open. Understaffed is an understatement. Check around their prices really are not much better than anywhere else and the time spent in line is not worth the 20 cent savings. read more

This is by far the worst Walmart in the area. My husband and I needed formula for our child. The formula is locked behind a glass case that has a button to push for service. We pushed the button twice with no response. We then asked an employee near by for assistance she said she couldn't help but would find someone. 15 minutes later someone shows up but by this point another customer had walked up and the employee assisted them first instead of my husband and I who had already been standing there for 15 minutes. The employee then proceeds to tell us we can retrieve the item at register 12. After picking up a few more items which brought us to a total of 5 items we head head to register 12. The line is of course 7 customers deep with carts full of merchandise. I head to the employee ringing customers out and politely ask if we could retrieve our formula and head to another register since we had only a few items. She said no, I can't give it to you. I said why is that? She replied, "that's just the way it is". My personal opinion this is the worst customer experience I have received. I was patient waiting for assistance at the case and not being helped first and then to be told the only way I could retrieve my item was to stand in that one line is utterly ridiculous . I understand we are in a pandemic. BUT IT IS FORMULA! Not toilet paper. Not water. FORMULA! FOR MY SON!! Which also costs $50!!!! I'm baffled to be treated as a thief basically. I'm an essential worker and I'm faced with bigger issues than handing a customer a can of formula. I give my best everyday considering most people out there right now are rude, inconsiderate and can be plain savages. My husband also works at a grocery store and has been out of this size formula for a few weeks, otherwise I wouldn't have been bothered going here. Going forward I will drive the extra distance to a different Walmart and hopefully be treated with kindness and respect. I ordered a Van Ness Extra-Small Auto Waterer,online for my cat, I chose Site To Store method and checked out. I got a cancellation email saying my order has been cancelled and the store doesn't carry it, so I called the store and asked them nicely if they could order me one and I would pay and wait patiently for 5 to 10 business days for the item to come in, and they simply could not care any less, they did not want to help, they would not take my money and they couldn't get me off the phone fast enough. We started coming here almost four years ago and it was a great store. Now this place is a dump! Its messy and dirty! The Mcdonalds inside is filthy and gross. The staff was quick and nice but the counters, tables, and floors were disgusting. Oh and the Snowbirds take over the place and act like its a meeting place. Couldn't find a seat. I went in to buy some car care products for my Firebird. I went in to get Engine degreaser + shiner, heavy duty silicone lubricant and, of course, air freshener. I got to the checkout and the silicone rang up as 18+. I said I was 17, and then said nevermind about it. I then asked why it was 18, and the cashier stated "it has a propensity to be abuse by teens like you." Previously I had not been able to buy the engine degreaser, bt was able to buy the silicone. Before that they wouldn't let me buy either one. When I said nevermind he cancelled the whole order. I said I wanted the rest and he sighed and scanned it all again. I got home looked at the receipt and guess what there was a charge for, "hd silicone." After all that I tried to call in to talk to customer service, some what late at night, since I stopped by on my way home from work and after about 5 min of ringing the phone I got sick of waiting and hung up. It's a pain to even go into to show it to them, because I'm in Wittmann, which is about a 15 minute drive. I can not believe that the cashier would say something like that, then not give me the product, and then still charge me for it. read more

I shop here often and have always had a pleasant experience, yet this day merits praise. We worked with Kieth (Assistant Manager) who was PHENOMENAL! He went above and beyond to help my mother and I purchase a bicycle. The one that we wanted was not one on the floor so he went and checked the stock and had it put together for us. I had my young son with us and Kieth was kind to him and understood the need for timely service (As my son's attention span is limited.) He even walked with us to the front and when all of the lanes were busy opened a new one for us and checked us out. Though the store was clearly busy, Kieth took the time to make certain that we had the best possible experience. He was friendly, courteous and professional. We shop here often and in the last 3 years have not been 'WOW'ed until this experience. Keith is an asset to your store and is the reason that we will continue to shop at your location. As far as Walmarts go, this store is the same as any other with one exception: IT SMELLS TERRIBLE! 2 days ago I unfortunately had to run into this store and the sulfuric smell was beyond belief! My girlfriend and I needed to buy some stuff quickly, but we weren't quick enough. Somewhere between the sporting section and automotive I dropped to my knees and emptied the contents on my stomach all over the floor. At least 2 employees saw me and said/did nothing. I was too sick to find a manager but when checking out we asked the cashier why the store smells so bad and she said "I've just gotten used to it". How horrible! Whether it's the salon or the bathrooms, this store needs a proper fumigation. read more

I would leave -5 if I could. My Walmart online order turned into a nightmare when I canceled it and tried to get my money back. Drove back and forth between the store and home 4 times because online people said it was a store problem and store people said it was an online problem. At one point I was chatting online with a Walmart agent and was told everything was fine and my order would be ready tomorrow. Next day I went back online, before driving all the way to the store, only to find out things were not alright and that my order was showing as not having been paid for. Then I went to the store with an email printed out saying my refund was ready to pick up and nobody in the store had ever seen an email like that. Finally a manager asked me to show me the email, because the online people said it didn't exist. I looked for it on my phone but it did not show up. I went home and looked on my computer and found it. I then brought my laptop into the store and showed the manager the email on my laptop screen and I could still not get my money back. DO NOT ORDER FROM WALMART ONLINE PEOPLE. It is a total nightmare. There is no communication between Walmart online and actual brick and mortar Walmart stores. Once I get my money back I will never spend a penny in Walmart again. read more

Don't expect a friendly greeting from Helen in the fabric department. The other gals are very helpful and appologize for her attitude. I took isome remnantst to the cutting table to ask if I could gently open it to see it as no returns are allowed on these. Helen interrupted the gal helping me by remarking 'if you take it apart, yoi'll never get it wrapped up again like it was!. This was lace which was rolled up like a sausage - I wanted to know if it was a fruit, bird or floral pattern.. She snapped, theres more on the shelf! Duh, which one is this? I was interested in the pattern design of the fabric packaged as a remnant in a small bag. Most of these are around a yard or less. Being a bold print, it was difficult to tell what it was. The last package was a formal fabric, It was alittle pricey for the small piece so I need to make sure it didnt't have a flaw or uneven cut making it unusable. She yanked it out of my hands and stuck it back in the bag. She was rude and this is not the first time she has been rude to me. I thought maybe she just had a bad day before, now it appears she is always a cranky old lady. I always move my cart to the side so I'm not blocking the table and offer others to go ahead of me while I check these out. I usually spend around $50 on fabric on a regular basis. It is alittle further to go to Glendale, but they are alot nicer. read more

Worst customer service I've ever dealt with at any Walmart Tyler the customer service clerk needs a training course that the customer is always right. Owning a 100k gross income business a year I know that customers are your life base. One customer will spend 80,000$ in there lifetime at a big box store and this store lost that 80000$ all because he was rude and when I asked to speak to his manager he said verbatim "they're going to tell you the exact same thing I just told you so your wasting your time." To properly handle a disgruntled customer he should have been as courteous as possible and wait for the next manager who is getting paid more than 10$ an hour and trained on how to handle these situations. Then on top of everything he lied to his manager about what he said to me I asked him to swear to God and he shut his mouth real quick and even another employee agreed he said that. I will be taking my business to target for the rest of my life it's more expensive but customer service is much better owning 32 acres of land 2 houses and 3 cars worth more than any of the managers make in a year or even two I would strongly recommend you give a mass customer service seminar to all employees to ensure you don't loose more customers. 80% of people that have a bad experience don't voice it so even though surprise is experiencing an economic increase right now you might not notice the loss of customer base for 5 or 6 years but you will eventually feel it.. read more

I came to get an oil change and a quote for tires. The only reason this is four stars and not five was because of how long it took. Anyway, guy quotes me some price I wasn't having for tires. I figured I'd just order them online, have them shipped there and just get them done then. So I'm roaming the store and some guy comes to me asking if I'm going to get tires. I notice he's wearing a Walmart shirt so I'm a little more at ease with a stranger talking to me. So we're chatting about the situation, I explain my plan of action to order online and return. He tells me based on the wear, it sounds like I may need an alignment. I agree and we part ways. I go to pick up my car and the same guy comes to me and says he looked at my tires and they were indeed in awful shape and wanted to look at my options with me if that was okay. He ends up finding an option a whole $100 cheaper than I was initially given so I went with that. I discovered he's the manager there and I really appreciate the lengths he went to help me out. I was going to call in a prescription refill, and was on hold for 10 minutes. So thinking they may have forgot I just tried calling them again. The second time I got an answer, and with telling the tech I needed to call in a refill she immediately put me on hold without telling me.
