I was disappointed in my last visit to Walt's. We took my son's car in because the brakes were pulsing. They called me and I told them that is what I wanted fixed. They said the technician did not see anything wrong, but they would test drive again. They then called my son to pick the car up without fixing the brakes. I don't care if they did not see anything wrong. I wanted them to turn the rotors and charge me for it. We ended up taking the car to a brake specialist and had the brakes fixed. I was hearing a knocking noise under my 2021 Dodge Challenger Scat Pack. I thought I needed a new transmission mount, but I took it in to Walts for service and turns out I just needed a bolt tightened on my rear differential. I had an unexpected delay; I was almost two hours late for my scheduled appointment. I called the office and they permitted to still come in. I needed more work than I initially anticipated. I used to love Walt's, but after a bad experience there, I won't be going back. First, I was told I had an oil leak that was going to cost major $$ to fix. I took it to another shop for a second opinion and they could not find any leak. I had front brakes done here. Two to three years later, I find out that the brake assembly was installed incorrectly. So now I will have to pay another mechanic to fix them. And finally, I had a clunking issue with the car. I was told that it was the shocks and struts by this shop. So those were replaced, costing a significant amount. This did not fix my problem. Instead, the service manager was like, "My daughter had a similar issue and it ended up being the sway bar links, which is pretty common." It WAS the sway bar links. If they knew this was common, why did they go for the most expensive fix first?? This really ticks me off. I felt like I was scammed by this shop. I won't be returning. Really disappointing because they came highly regarded by a friend. But I guess things have changed since Walt sold the business. read more

What can I say! Like a family doctor, I've been coming to Walt's since 1990 for service on my cars. Whether for a standard oil change or more serious repair, they are always responsive, courteous and thorough in explaining required or recommended service. This time I was here for an oil change only as I had reached one year since the previous service and had driven only 2,000 miles. As I've shared before, going to Walt's is like seeing your family doctor, one familiar with your car's health and history. One of the highlights of Walt's is their recommendations for future service. They'll keep an eye on deteriorating parts not yet ready for replacement and advise when the time is right. Current status of such parts is always outlined on their invoice. After my experience this past weekend with Walt's Auto Service I had to come here and give them a review. It was my first time using them and was really happy with their fair prices but most of all, what I find more valuable is their honesty. As I told Sisi, it is so hard to find auto repair shops that are trustworthy because I've been burned so many times. I took my car in because it was having electrical issues and I could not figure out what was going on. They charged me a fair price for the diagnostic and called me a couple of hours later to tell me that it was a 10 dollar part that was missing and that I only owed them the price for the diagnostic and the price of the part. I was so appreciative that they were that straight with me. Some places quoted me a ridiculous 500 dollars for the diagnostic alone. Usually, in my experience, another auto shop would have taken advantage of the situation and would have charged me a ridiculous amount of money. To me, this just ensures that I will continue to take my car to them going forward. read more

We took our old van in to have something fixed and they said no problem. Three weeks later we hadn't heard anything so I went in and they said that they had exchanged a computer chip that was $700 but they never contacted us to tell us that did not work. I feel like their customer service is lacking. Why didn't they just tell us they didn't want to work on the vehicle? Just be honest. We sure miss Victor. never going back. read more

Located off Van Ness in Torrance. My dad has been taking the Camry here for a few years now. The last time he did service before his passing was Nov 2019 before our Vegas trip. They do a good job with service. They are very friendly and provide excellent customer service. They send reminders and also follow up calls. Their prices are reasonable as well. My old mechanic went out of business, so I was looking for someone to fill the void in the approximate vicinity. Walt's had a high rating on Yelp so I took a chance. The first time I came in, I didn't figure I'd get serviced right away but they did make an appointment for the following morning (it was for the "Check Engine" light, so my car was driveable). I just took my car in on Mon 5/22/23 due to it leaking with two codes. They checked my car and found that it was the hoses from the radiator. They also checked everything else. They didn't tell me I needed something that I did need because I'm a woman. They were upfront and honest with me about the repairs. I'm very happy with the service I received.
