    Hot and sour soup
    Naz G.

Excellent Chinese food! I tried vegetarian dishes, including the vegetable chow mein, hot and sour soup, and vegetarian fried rice. Everything was delicious and full of flavor. The hot and sour soup was especially amazing. The customer service was friendly, and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the seating area was clean and comfortable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I really enjoyed my visit and will definitely come back again.

The food is good and you get plenty of it. My sister and I both ordered different dishes. She had the braised pork belly while I ordered the jalapeño chicken. She had steamed rice and I had fried rice. The service was good and they asked to see if we liked our orders. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is a nice Chinese restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My sister and I noticed a big majority of the people that came in picked up their orders to go. After dinner of course I had to check out the restrooms. They do have handicap restrooms for both men and women. The stalls are large enough for wheelchair chair access.

This spot is delicious. The combination lo Mein and the salt and pepper squid is my favorite and I highly recommend it. Staff was attentive without being annoying. They did mess up one of our orders but immediately resolved it once I informed them.

10/10!!! I've FINALLY found a grail Chinese restaurant. I was so impressed. We placed our order inside for to-go. The wait wasn't too long. The atmosphere as so nice and calming, no blaring music or yelling kids or overly loud tvs. I got the fried rice with tofu and they were kind enough to make it without cabbage, green onion, onion or bean sprouts (I'm a picky eater okay? lol). The lady taking the order at the register spoke English really well and was so friendly. I'll definitely try here again and eat inside. The tofu was cooked perfectly and the rice wasn't greasy or really old/dry. Perfect!! Thanks wang's :))

    Salt & Pepper Pork Chop/

Stopped by for some take out, man their salt and pepper pork chops are good! Some of the best I've had for sure. Can't wait to try more of their food! I've passed this place 100 times and never tried until today. 10/10 if you haven't tried this place yet check it out!

Solid options for standard American Chinese food offerings plus more. I went with the sesame chicken and the general tso's chicken because I was looking for the good ol mainstream taste. The fried rice is very flavorful and fresh. The chicken was warm and arrived crispy and well-sauced. I did take out for this order. On pick up the restaurant was not busy on a rainy Friday night. The order was ready quickly and was actually ready before I arrived. I would visit again when I'm looking for this cuisine. I also like that they serve rice in the quintessential Chinese takeout boxes.

Side of fried rice - I already ate some of it before taking the photo

The people are the exact same. It was truly a feeling of nostalgia that's hard to describe. My favorite dish has always been, and still is, the bamboo shoots with pork. It is so fragrant, umami, and simply delicious. The west lake soup is also a classic done so well - pro tip to add white pepper to give it a little kick. The steamed pork belly was okay - sauce is flavorful (a touch salty) along with the preserved greens but the pork wasn't as tender as I had remembered it. The fish filets are fried to perfection, full of salt/pepper flavor, and pairs well with the jalapeños. If you don't like fish, you can get the same flavor with the pork version of this dish, which I also really like. The service can be a little slow because it's just 1 chef and 1 waitress who own the restaurant - same people that have run the show since I first came here probably almost 30 years ago! Incredible to see them still working so hard and serving delicious food. They'll never know how much their restaurant and food means to me!

Great flavor and the pork didn't have that weird pork taste some Asian places have. The crispy smoked duck pancake was awesome and worth the steeper price. I wasn't a fan of the sauce alone, but in the pancake was excellent. The eggroll was a decent eggroll and the duck sauce that came with it was the best sauce I've had with an eggroll. The lady working was sweet and was working her butt off with the 5 tables she had. Felt great to support a local business. The restaurant itself is out dated but the tables and utensils were clean. The atmosphere added to the experience and the background music was just perfection.

We were greeted right away and the restaurant is welcoming with an assortment of booths and some large round tables. The server was friendly and she provided great service throughout our meal. We started with the steamed dumplings which were honestly middle of the road and we the weakest part of our meal. The entrees were uniformly outstanding. We had the Beef Chow Fun which tasted great and was less oily than versions we have had elsewhere. We also had the combination crispy noodles which were well prepared with tender beef and some great shrimp. We capped it off with the General Tso which was delicious. Yes, completely inauthentic but so tasty!! This restaurant is absolutely one of the best Chinese spots in the DFW area. Highly Reccommended!

But the reviews were suspiciously glowing, so curiosity (and hunger) won. We pulled up and I took one look at the building: older, unremarkable, zero curb appeal. Classic "meh." Inside, several large round tables with lazy Susans, red tablecloths, and Chinese lanterns. They first sat us in a booth but I requested later on to be moved to a large round table since we ordered A LOT. But back to when we first sat in the booth - As a Chinese woman, the second I spotted the older seats with ripped upholstery, it hit me like a culinary prophecy: this place was going to serve me some incredible, authentic Chinese food. I don't know what it is, but there's an inverse law of Chinese restaurants: the less fancy the exterior (and the more the booth looks like it's survived several natural disasters), the better the food. Apparently they skip Instagram-worthy renovations and put the budget where it belongs--on the plate! This is now hands down in my top 3 favorite Chinese restaurant in North Dallas - I can even say it's on the very top. I haven't forgotten about the staff. They deserve 10 stars. Super nice!

WOW! The braised okra with giant oyster mushroom positively SURPRISED and leap frogged to the top of my preferred vegetable GOTOs...The cumin lamb was SO tender and VERY flavorful. One of the best preparations yet. The Singapore noodle combo and Xao Long Bao did not disappoint... More importantly, the service we received was attentive, courteous, knowledgeable, and prompt. Sadly, the eggplant with garlic sauce is the ONLY reason a star is withheld for this review...it detracted from traditional Chinese style; notes of garlic eviscerated by the chef's sweetening to satisfy an American palette...Why fix something that's unbroken?...I get it. The restaurant has to cater to its customers who populate this mix use (business/lease residential) area at the NW corner of Alma and Hwy 121, but doesn't that limit its draw? Guess we'll just have to head either further south on Central (HWY 75) to the Legacy & Spring Creek areas or further west to the Preston and Warren Pkwy Frisco TX area to satisfy our authentic Chinese cuisine food cravings.

We arrived on a Wednesday evening around 7 p.m., and surprisingly, we were the only customers there, considering it was peak dinner time. We also discovered that we needed to pre-order the duck in advance. Luckily, the lady informed us that there was one available for us, but it would take about 30 minutes. We ordered the crispy cucumber salad, xiao long bao, and the dry-fried string beans. The dry-fried string beans were my favorite. The string beans had a delightful crisp texture and a flavorful taste. The cucumber salad was also good, but some parts were a bit soggy. The XLB skin was too thick and chewy, and it didn't taste like the usual soup dumplings, which was disappointing. I was excited for the duck, but I was honestly disappointed when it arrived. The portions were quite small, considering it was a whole duck. It wasn't carved tableside, which was a letdown. Some parts of the duck were dry, and the skin wasn't crispy enough. To add to the disappointment, they charge extra for almost everything. If you want more pancakes or their homemade duck sauce (which tasted like black bean sauce), you'll have to pay an additional $5. Another thing to note is that they are BYOB, so you can bring your own alcohol. However, the menu pictures on Yelp are outdated, and they only offer whole Peking duck, not half orders. Overall, the food was just okay, and I'll probably try a different spot when I'm in the mood for duck again.
