Wasabi Off the Hook has a slightly smaller menu, especially when it comes to sushi, but everything we tried was still really good. The appetizer selection stood out--especially the oysters. They put their own spin on raw oysters with an Asian-style sauce that was absolutely delicious. A bit pricey for a dozen, but honestly worth it. We also tried the kalbi appetizer--my daughter ordered it and loved it. Flavorful, well-prepared, and definitely something I'd order again. The service was great, the food quality was solid, and overall it was a really enjoyable experience. I wanted to give a big compliment to the sushi chef and our waitress for their amazing service. We came in for happy hour and it is such a great deal. We ordered the fried calamari for $10, the California roll for $6, and the shrimp crunch roll for $10. It was such a steal for quality sushi. Everything was delicious and the service truly stood out. We sat at the sushi bar and the older sushi chef was incredibly welcoming and kept checking in on us, which made the experience feel personal and special. This is one of my go-to options for sushi in the area. It's very spacious with lots of parking out front. The restaurant itself is large and has a lot of seating. It was very modern looking with low-lighting. The service was good. Our server was nice. He did mix up our sushi rolls and ignored us when we told him a sushi roll belonged to someone else at the table so we had to pass it across the table to the right person. My sushi rolls were pretty good. I loved the Nemo roll! It was yummy and very well cooked. The other roll I got was just okay. We met here for a get together with a table of 7. It was a fun experience, and the servers were very attentive and kind. We arrived a little late, and even though it was a Friday night, the server was quick to greet us and get our food started. I ordered the bulgogi beef with fried rice and the spicy California roll, and everything was delicious. The portions are very generous. The fried rice was especially good; it even had bacon in it. We got tempura and it was not crispy and chewy. Then we both got beef bowls with fried rice upgrade. The rice was not worth the 4 dollar upgrade we got egg shells and hair in our rice. I came here for a late lunch / early dinner on a Friday and made it in time for happy hour! They were pretty busy and after we got seated the people after us had to wait for seats. Id recommend to come early or make reservations if you have a large group. We ordered the happy hour calamari, the soft shell crab roll, chirashi bowl, a jalapeno popper dish?, nigiri of salmon belly, and albacore belly. Our total was around about $150 after tax and tip. The calamari here is thick but freshly fried, I don't think it would have been worth the non happy hour price. The soft shell crab roll was not what I expected, the soft shell crab was on the side and was not inside of the roll. The chirashi bowl had a great portion of fish, it was too much food and we had to package it up to go. The salmon belly and albacore belly were delish!!! These were market prices and $14 each. I would come back here for the rolls and the chirashi bowl. read more

The Asahi 0.0 was really nice and helped me swallow the less than half of the sides that I ate. The salmon wasn't too bad, a bit dry, the thicker part almost most enough. I was able to eat the full portion of the salmon. Left a lot on the plate. I discovered I prefer Korean restaurants for the many small dishes served fresh on the side. Range in sushi rolls goes from $12-30. We started with the calamari which I get everywhere I go. It was very mushy and fishy. The dip is a spicy mayo that seems to be served with everything(also the same sauce for fried green beans which weren't good) The booty booty tempura roll is what I got and it was very underwhelming. It really didn't taste like anything but it was a large roll and very filling. The other girls said they didn't want to finish theirs but for the price they tried.
