This is one of my go-to options for sushi in the area. It's very spacious with lots of parking out front. The restaurant itself is large and has a lot of seating. It was very modern looking with low-lighting. The service was good. Our server was nice. He did mix up our sushi rolls and ignored us when we told him a sushi roll belonged to someone else at the table so we had to pass it across the table to the right person. My sushi rolls were pretty good. I loved the Nemo roll! It was yummy and very well cooked. The other roll I got was just okay. I didn't really understand the weird avocado fruit salad thing I got with it. The rolls are funny and stuff but I feel like they're doing a bit too much.

I know this place doesn't need another good review, but I really do think they make some of the best sushi in fresno! Beyond that the service is always top notch. This is always a great choice for date night or a family event !

Bulgogi beef bowl fried rice upgrade

Came in to try this for the first time yesterday. We were seated quickly and our server was very kind. She is the only thing that deserves a star. The food was terrible. We got tempura and it was not crispy and chewy. Then we both got beef bowls with fried rice upgrade. The rice was not worth the 4 dollar upgrade we got egg shells and hair in our rice. The beef was not even a good cut of meat for the price and the veggies in it were very undercooked. I would never give this place another try.

Delicious sushi but a bit pricey. The sushi rolls were decent size. Services was great

Deliciously fishy! The chefs behind the sushi bar were great. Attentive and offering some paring ideas with my Sashimi Chef's Choice $40. I tried the huge 2nd Climax $18 along with my bottle of saki. Service from the floor staff was off. A food menu was in front of me but no drink menu. When I ordered my 300ml saki there was no shot glass. Straw? The chef noticed and offered one. The fish was fantastic, cold and delicious! While that's super important let's talk about their attention to detail and presentation...ALL the stars! These chefs clearly love their work. Highly suggest sitting at the sushi bar to watch the magic. The menu includes the stables you need and creative rolls with names to make you blush. Perfect for a first date when you realize your Tinderoni ordered the Fore Play $18, the Pimp Daddy $19 or maybe you're ready to make this the last date as the Smells Like My Ex $m.p. . You can clearly set the pace for the night. How fun! Thank you Wasabi for an entertaining and engaging as I engorging. I'll be back.

Honestly this place never lets us down, the service could be a little better sometimes but we have our go to favorites here for sure! The sushi rolls are my favorite and I love their bento box lunches! Always a place we come back to, pro tip get the spicy garlic edamame!! I only took a picture because this was a new item we tried and it was soooo good, spicy mussels as an appetizer.

Spicy tuna roll and shrimp tempura roll for Saturday happy hour
    Esther S.

We came around 5:30ish to catch happy hour. The rolls were average tasting-- the rice ratio is pretty hefty and doesn't really taste like what I expect a sushi roll rice to taste like. Can't quite describe it... something about the texture maybe? Size was good though! Bigger than your grocery store roll. We got the shrimp tempura, California, and spicy tuna bc they were on the happy hour menu. We also got the sashimi flight appetizer which was really tasty, would get this one again. It is chef's choice fish so it had salmon, yellowtail, tuna, and some white fish we couldn't identify. Really liked the sauce in the spoons. You gotta eat it off the spoon with a bit of a slurp! The place was super crowded when we went and thus we waited awhile for our food which wasn't ideal since we were in a rush. However our waitress was working very hard and walking fast! She did a great job. Extra star just for her. She fielded our requests very graciously. Ambiance is loud as usual. Tv screens playing sports, bold colors. Comfortable tables and nice spacing. 3.5 stars rounded up for the service.

First time trying out Wassabi Off the Hook. Heard a lot of great things and was not at all disappointed. We went for lunch. Was quickly seated. Chose to sit on the patio which was nice and open. We picked box specials which has a hood amount of food and the price point was great. The spicy tuna was very fresh. Our server was attentive and friendly. All around just a nice spot for a bite to eat. Will definitely come back.

Do you have gluten free options?

Is the sushi bar seating open?

Hello. As of now our sushi bar seating is not open. However Wassabi On Fire is open. Good luck!

    What are favorite spicy dishes?

MAX'S Roll and 3M are popular spicy rolls. However you can add spicy sauce or even Jalapenos to any dish.

    Do they have AYCE Sushi?

I do not believe they do. But they have happy hour all day on Monday (at the bar) with great prices!

The wines we were able to try were great, and it felt like a nice spot for a small celebration. One small disappointment was that they were out of a few wines and gelato we were interested in trying, apparently because of an event earlier in the evening. It limited the selection a bit for us, which was a little unfortunate. I did enjoy many of the cocktails, especially the Drop the Lemon (delicious lemon drop) and the Caramel Apple Carousel (tastes like apple pie!). We also enjoyed the Petite Charcuterie board, which was a great selection for a small group. That said, our server Esteban really made the experience. He was super chill, friendly, and attentive. He gave great suggestions and made sure our group was taken care of throughout the night. He has such fun energy and really made sure we had a great time as well. Overall, a very nice place for a birthday gathering, and Esteban's service definitely stood out. I'd come back again to try more of their wines!

I love it here and definitely want to come back!…read more I stopped in with some friends for a drink before our reservation across the street, we had the best experience leaving me eager for my next visit. The drinks were so good and the menu looked amazing too! They have so many options to choose from, perfect place to share a few bites with a group. The setup itself is just weird; you have to stand outside and wait for someone to come out to seat you. When you go inside, its small and has kind of a "bar meets saddam hussein's palace" kind of vibe, there is gold everywhere in here. Not to mention its a bar that has been converted into a restaurant, its separated by the check-in desk by drapery. One good point is that all of the staff is very friendly and attentive, although I think our waitress had to cover every table in the place, which seems kind of not great for her! We started with some drinks, they were both good, no complaints there. After they came we ordered our food, we ordered them one at a time. First up was the bacon wrapped dates. These were pretty good, the bacon was cooked well and had some good crisp, it paired well with the dates and cheese inside. The walnut was kind of weird and my wife and I both thought for a second the date pit hadn't been removed. Next we got the corn empanadas, these were disappointing but not awful. The dough was cooked fine but it has absolutely no flavor, like nothing at all. The filling was also cooked ok, the corn had good texture, but similarly, had no flavor, about the only thing I could tint was a tiny bit of cilantro. Once you dip it in the sauce that comes with it, things improve, but we both felt the empanadas should be able to stand on their own. The last tapas item we got was the costillas al ajillo, these were both disappointing AND awful. They are advertised as "fall off the bone fried rib tips, garlic infused olive oil, crisp garlic chips" The only thing crispy about this was the meat itself, it was incredibly dry and had no flavor. There was a little bit of olive oil and some minced garlic, but not "crispy garlic chips". Credit where credits due they took if off the bill, but it was just incredibly bad. We finished with the chocolate flan which was quite good, no complaints there. All in all it was disappointing and I don't know that we would come back.
